Oh puhleeeeze ml.
It’s the POW factor that’s got Obama feeling caged.
Other than saying that he (McCain) knows first hand, the experiences of war and the sacrifices made by our troops, McCain speaks very little of his military service.
Heck! The battlefield of a Town Hall debate with McCain scares Obama.

Luckovich’s little liberal couple are suggesting that John McCain not mention his POW experience. No wonder. With Obama not even willing to protect America with his anti-war vote, most liberals want us to forget McCain’s wartime experience as a Navy pilot. But here it is again.
McCain was flying a A-4E Skyhawk off the USS Oriskany aircraft carrier in the Viet Nam War. He was on his 23rd bombing mission. After antiaircraft fire hit his plane, he crashed into Truc Bach Lake. Both arms and one leg were broken. A hostile crowd crushed his shoulder. He survived five years as POW with little medical care and rigorous torture.
Obama’s party does NOT want you to remember McCain’s bravery. Nor do they want you to remember McCain’s almost 27 years of experience in the US Congress. While there he has chaired the Senate Commerce Commitee.
Yep, forget McCain. They want you to vote for a man with no military experience and a very short time in Congress. But….he makes a NICE SPEECH.
McCain has a great record and it is no cage, unless you think like a liberal Democrat. McCain 2008…I will vote for him.

I’m not impressed with McCain’s credentials. I don’t see how crashing a plane on a carrier deck, getting shot down, wrestling with old men like Strom Thurmond, using the f-word liberally, dumping a cancer-stricken wife in favor of a rich one and committing adultery, and engaging in the Keating Five scandal qualifies him to be president.

Southside Trust
The couple wanted to step up from their $415,000 condo. They chose a house with six bedrooms, four fireplaces, a four-car garage and 5 1/2 baths, including a double steam shower and a marble powder room. It had a wine cellar, a music room, a library, a solarium, beveled glass doors and a granite-floored kitchen.
The freshman Democratic senator received a discount. He locked in an interest rate of 5.625 percent on the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, below the average for such loans at the time in Chicago. The loan was unusually large, known in banker lingo as a “super super jumbo.” Obama paid no origination fee or discount points, as some consumers do to reduce their interest rates.
Compared with the average terms offered at the time in Chicago, Obama’s rate could have saved him more than $300 per month.
Since 1990, Northern Trust employees have donated more than $739,000 to federal campaigns, including $71,000 to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Perhaps it is dawning on Mr. Obama that, if he does become President, he’ll be responsible for preventing any new terrorist attack. So now he’s happy to throw the New York Times under the bus.}}}}

After that, a small gas motor will kick in to recharge the battery while you drive. Some reports claim the Volt will get 50 mpg in this mode, but that’s hallucinatory: If using a gasoline engine to power an electric motor were so efficient, the streets would be full of such vehicles. (Our guess: The car will be lucky to get 15 mpg under gasoline power.)}}}}

Kerry doesn’t compare to McCain. Kerry stayed in the service in country just long enough to get his discharge via 3 purple hearts (minor flesh wounds). He was there 4 months, roughly.
And another thing…that whole flap about Wesley Clark saying that McCain’s service does not make him a better candidate for president…while I agree with that statement, in that military service doesn’t mean that much in the political realm, didn’t Clark run for President in 2004 on his military record? If not, what record did Clark run on? His extensive political experience?

McCain in a cage of his own making? The reports out of Iraq now have very little bad news and much good news. McCain was critical of the original invasion and occupation. McCain also acknowledges my insight about “we aint nevah gonna git outa iraq”.
But Iraq has changed. The triumvirate of loosely connected tribal factions, Kurd, Sunni, and Shia seem to have cooler heads. There has emerged a definite spectrum of silent majority, and two polar lunatic fringes on either side of each faction.
The cooler heads appeared when they took off their scarves. (dont reach for that one, duhng, it’s WAY over your pointed head, bwa)
So sunnis have a good-citizen middle ground with a lunatic fringe on either side, just like American parties. One that wants a new bathist party in charge and a polar-opposite lunatic fringe that wants the USA forever guarding their lives against Shia lunatic fringe.
So shias have a good citizen middle with a lunatic fringe that wants a shia-superstate aligned with Iraq and a polar-opposite lunatic fringe that wants the USA forever guarding their lives against other shia, iranian hotheads, and sunni bathists who might re-emerge.

Perhaps the AJC should prove themselves worthy of the name “news” paper by running some of these things down.
A reasonable interpretation of this ad, based on what we know about Obama so far, would have to conclude that it is the most deceptive commercial ever to air in the history of politics. It is designed to mask the fact that Obama, with all of his baggage, could not by any reasonable standard get a federal security clearance. But our media don’t have the basic integrity to point this out.
{{{{{In fact, his white grandfather helped raise Obama by selecting Frank Marshall Davis, a black communist writer and poet, as a father-figure and role model while he was growing up in Hawaii. His values, passed on to Obama, were those of a communist agent who pledged allegiance to Stalin. Among other things, as Obama himself admits in his book, “Frank” told him that blacks had a reason to hate whites and that he should not believe that [expletive deleted] about the American way of life. Davis was an influence over Obama during the years 1975-1979. His “poetry” is viciously anti-American and pro-Soviet. And yet Obama listened to it growing up.}}}}}

Barack Obama has returned to the no-preconditions policy for meeting with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, according to Obama foreign-policy adviser Anthony Lake. Financial Times also discovered in its interview with Lake that Obama has reversed himself on Iraq, now saying that the withdrawal is off. Obama also now embraces John McCain’s call for a League of Democracies, despite his campaign’s rejection of it earlier this week:
It could be the triple lindy of flip flops or it could just be time to throw Anthony Lake under the bus.
By the way, if the name Anthony Lake sounds familiar it’s because Billy Jeff wanted him to be the director of the CIA until Lake went on Meet the Press and said he didn’t know if there was evidence that Algier Hiss had been a communist spy. That was when Bubba threw him under his bus.

I love the way Luckovich draws McCain. He should start drawing him with a band-aid on his head - everytime I see him, he’s got a band-aid on his head.
I used to like McCain before he turned into a Bushbot, now he just seems old and confused.
I saw an interesting story yesterday that I will keep an eye on - Colin Powell has met with both candidates - wonder if he’ll endorse one. If I know Powell the way I think I know Powell, I don’t think he’ll endorse anyone - but I have a gut feeling he is pulling for Obama. No proof, just a gut feeling based on what he’s said in interviews.
I saw Rudy Guiliani in an interview yesterday too - he was said that John McCain was the nation’s leading expert on national security - I guess he only watches the news and not the real world - guess he’s forgotten about Sam Nunn. He probably doesn’t even know who he is.
On a different note: Been watching Wimbledon - Roger Federer is still dominating. He makes it seem so easy - he’s like watching a cat whose caught a mouse - he catches it, bites it, then let’s it run away just for fun, catches it again, same thing, until the last time - the cat will rip the mouse’s head off.
I can watch that now that Euro 2008 is over - I’m in mourning right now for my team. I’ll be okay, don’t anyone worry.

Devastator,
One thing I’ve noticed - Obama national-level supporters have made comments that have led Obama, repeatedly, to condemn them. Yet those same comments are repeated over and over on this site by some of his most ardent supporters.
So my question is, if Obama can’t even convince his own supporters to “change” and bring about a new era in American governance, how can we expect any success from him as President, on this, a key plank of his campaign?

That was a good game, and Spain deserved to win. Did you watch it? I knew the Germans would have trouble with Torres, he’s been really good this year. Liverpool is lucky to have him. The Germans are good, but they were lucky in this tournament. They weren’t as impressive as they were in the World Cup. Schweinsteiger and Klose weren’t on their game, and I thought both didn’t play that well. I think Schweinsteiger has bleach poisoning from his new hair style.

I was in NYC, but recorded the final. It was the first thing I watched when I returned. I agree about the Germans - there is no such thing as entitlement in a championship game.
I did catch a bit of the Williams sisters, looking forward to Saturday. I suppose that’s part of the competitive spirit I do not understand - playing against one’s family at that level. They must put walls up for the time.
NYC was busy - I did find someone to use my Spamalot tickets - and altho I could have seen it in NYC I opted for November - a play starring Nathan Lane as President. He’s at the end of his first term, his poll numbers are plummeting, it doesn’t seem he’ll be reelected - and it was hilarious. Lucked out with fifth-row tickets. Took place in the Oval Office, five people in the cast. One, Michael Nichols, is a former Green Beret. I spoke with him briefly after the performance. He gets quite a kick out of telling people “I just figured acting on Broadway was a natural transition for a Green Beret.”

How in the world did you get so twisted? You can’t believe that anything is official or relevant or truthful or reasonable.
I don’t know why McCain went on to fight and fly from the air craft carrier Oriskany. McCain helped rescue other pilots in the flames on the Forrestal. You called that hiding????? If his father, the Admiral, was making it easy for his son(as you insist)why didn’t he have him stationed in Hawaii?? Or the USA?
But the sheer idiocy of saying a half drowned man with two broken arms, one broken leg and a crushed shoulder surrendered? McCain was CAPTURED!! Do you even know the difference?
mm@2:06
I will stop talking about McCain’s military experience when YOU stop telling LIES about it.
Amd may I remind you that Bush is not running for reelection so you can stop the lies about him. Bush served in the National Guard as a pilot. His official records have been released.
Bush did not serve a ‘stint’ as Governor of Texas. He served FIVE years.
Bush has also kept us free which I will continue to say as long as you are too stupid to realize it.
If McCain had stayed home and waved a white flag like you, he wouldn’t have had any ‘mishaps’. But he has served this country in the military and in Congress. He will be our next President and he will do that bravely and responsibly as he has always done. I and most of the USA will vote for him.

As Paul has said before (not quoting of course), you need to tread lightly when accusing someone of questionable behavior, because the pendulum will always swing back against you.

Fools! McCain put HIMSELF in the Hanoi Hilton, thru the violation of SOPs, direct orders, and his own belligerence in refusing to use massive electronic anti-missile devices available to him in-cockpit - to say nothing of NOT taking severe evasive measures w his aircraft. Instead, he chose to take a few more seconds to bomb a very meaningless bridge. He was ALERTED that a missile had been fired, and had all this available to him in order to escape it. Instead, he watched his right wing blow off. And cost the American taxpayers for a multi-million dollar airplane, to say nothing of millions invested into his training, salary, expenses. And so he went thru hell as a POW. Absolutely does NOT make him a “War Hero.” Indeed, his military record is abysmal. Never, ever a team-player. Despised at Annapolis, where he repeatedly attempted to have upper-classmen punished by snitching, attempted to have others thrown out of the academy, played by his own rules. And got away w it strictly because of Fleet Admiral Grandpa and Daddy. Move to Pensacola NAS, where he refused to volunteer for the normal/usual xtra flight-training hours. Refused the xtra “ground school” (That’s classroom study)hours. Preferred to spend his time in the Officers’ Club bar. Not exactly a welcome wing-mate. There are hundreds of books, articles, interviews re these subjects, written by decades of school-peers, Navy-peers, etc. McCain admits most of it in his own biography. But you little people never desire to learn - for you cannot and will not tolerate truth or history or reality. ALL of this info is and has been readily available for your reading pleasure. But nooo, you won’t learn or educate your little minds. Too busy adoring and calling this guy a “War Hero.” A “war” hero - NOT. Read what the guys who flew with him said. He’s an insult to real war heroes everywhere. And has made a carrer out of playing the “Hero Card.” None of your childish little insults can change ANY of the above.

The UN climate change numbers hoax
Then you can go [here]http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/Comments/wg1-commentFrameset.html) (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) for scientists’ responses to the drafts. (Too complex for this simple girl)
Moving on…..in reponse to “The UN climate change numbers hoax” article, some contributor gets all pithy vowing he will never contribute again, and submits this:
(((The denialists have conspicuously failed to generate contrary evidence that can be published in refereed journals and instead devote themselves to creating doubt by exaggerating, exploiting and twisting the various uncertainties and unexplained phenomena that naturally characterise a body of science as complex and emergent as climate change science.)))
(((The so-called sceptics are not true scientific sceptics at all; they don’t treat the arguments and evidence on each side sceptically but are fanatically anti-IPCC, dismissing all of its arguments.)))
(((I have explained this at more length in an article for New Matilda here.)))
(((There I also explain why I do not presume to engage in arguments about climate science because I do not have the expertise to do so without making a fool of myself. Denialists without any scientific qualifications, or irrelevant ones, show no such humility.)))
So this guy says he doesn’t presume to engage in arguments about climate science because doing so makes him look like a fool.
Well here’s a question….
If attempting to broach the subject leaves you looking like a fool, then how do you know the skeptics are wrong?
I’ll leave the global warming discussions to everyone else because I simply don’t know enough about it to enter the discussion but I won’t get “all pithy” because someone may disagree with something that I don’t understand.

There has emerged a definite spectrum of a silent majority with two polar-opposite lunatic fringes on either side of each faction.
The cooler heads appeared when they took off their scarves. Oh! Dont reach for that one, duhng, rw, or glenn, or any of your aliases, it’s WAY over your pointed head(s), bwa
The kurds? Who cares? There’s only one thing I hate more than the French, and that’s the Kurds.
Al Queda? I purposefully left out Al Queda because nobody knows what or who or where Al Queda is. Al Queda is the wild card. Aces and Eights.

Glenn,
I wouldn’t take those posts too seriously, especially those criticizing Vietnam-era tactics. Words such as “worthless” when describing a target are a clue to veracity; many targets were later looked on as worthless, but that’s not the pilot’s call. He’s given an order, he executes.
As far as taking evasive action when closing on the target - again, systems then are not the same as systems now. And pilots are not taught to do an accountant’s cost-benefit analysis on when to about. Check the situation of the B-52s on the Christmas bombing runs. Ran the same routes and saw the SAMs coming at them - and the orders were to press on.
Heck, I even knew a Wild Weasel driver (F-4 modified to take out the SAM sites) who spent a few years in Hanoi. And he was the one attacking the site, not trying to avoid it.
Many people use a single word to describe people like McCain. The word is ‘Warrior.’

Haven’t looked at this site in 6 months till last week. Amazing. # yeaers ago you had this freak, AC-DC Homo-hating Duh, yapping that he regretted never serving in the military. (not even a Cub Scout) Now he says he served w great pride. And RW is here still, w the same mind as AC-DC. Have to wonder where souls like RW “vacation,” eh?! In all, these gutter goons still support Bush/McShame and have the lack of courage to post it here. Sweet Geesuss! Look around you, goons: the sky really IS falling!

Paul: You are trying to explain the situation in a way that a real man would understand it.
It seems as though you have forgotten that you are dealing with the candy as-s surrender monkeys.
Where McCain saw the duty to complete the mission, no matter the cost to himself, as it may have saved other American pilots lives, the liberals can only speak in terms of saving their own as-ses.
They truly are cowards.

Duhng and @@ have recently posted how much they despise the Americans who blog on this site. They only express hatred for other Americans, not for Al Queda. Ever Notice?
I demand the surrender of Osama Bin Laden and/or his destruction along with his entire army of Al Queda mutants.
RW, Glenn, and duhng, (@@ + Dusty), only comment about how much they hate other americans. Fact.
Believe it, cause it’s right there for everyone to read, that is if you actually read their comments, but I know nobody bothers so never mind. They only reply to their own aliases like the basement dwelling suppositories they truly are.
Shout out to all my fans!!!! I’m here 4 U !

Oh, it’s that Donovan. I saw you at the 1977 Kentucky State Fair when you were opening for YES.

So here he is on CNN, finally challenged on the fact that Kerry’s military record couldn’t have provided much “executive experience” either yet he still felt obliged to mention it in his 2004 speech at the convention, and what does he do? He dodges it by falling back on those other virtues. First comes the snippet from the speech about Kerry’s “physical courage,” which sounds like the character argument; when Roberts asks him how that amounts to “executive experience,” he shifts to talking about Kerry’s judgment (per his post-war testimony). The “executive experience” nonsense is really just a straw man cooked up to focus attention away from the same appealing attributes in McCain that he was happy to tout in Kerry, garnished with the lie that Kerry wasn’t touting his record in 2004 as evidence of any superior executive qualification to command troops than Bush. Your exit question: If this is all about judgment vis-a-vis Iraq, why bring McCain’s military record into it at all? Why not just stick with, “He voted for the war, the public says it was a mistake, QED”?
