{{{{Oil blame game keeps us hooked (Urinal has a drawing of Uncle Sam shooting oil into his veins)}}}}
As I said before, printing this fictional “news” paper, this whining POS rag thee Urinal, is one of the most exorbitant wastes of energy imaginable, not to mention the “greenhouse” gases that it pumps into the atmosphere.
Lead by example, AJC?
Or just scold the rest of us while you carry on wasting and polluting as usual?
Are you serious or are you just whining?

Precisely on schedule, the usual assortment of right-wing operatives is preparing its expected assault on the Democratic presidential nominee…….The only notable difference this year is that neither the money nor the message has crystallized yet behind any “independent” effort to destroy the candidacy of Barack Obama. Whether such a campaign against him can be mounted effectively remains to be seen, but it will not fail for lack of trying…..This August will mark the publication of the first book-length screed against Mr. Obama, courtesy of Regnery Publishing, the house responsible for the scurrilous smearing of Mr. Kerry between hard covers. At work on the Obama tome is David Freddoso, a young writer from the stable of the National Review, whose byline has also appeared in the ultra-right-wing magazine Human Events and who was reportedly trained by Robert Novak, the conservative “prince of darkness.” His straightforward title is The Case Against Barack Obama……a similar product by Jerome Corsi, one of the authors of Unfit for Command, who has migrated from Regnery to a Simon & Schuster imprint. With somewhat labored cleverness, his book will be titled The Obama Nation, and is likely to posit, among many other implausible claims, that the Illinois senator is under the influence of the defunct Communist Party USA…..Evangelical leader James Dobson has suggested that Mr. Obama is deliberately distorting the meaning of the Bible, which is an unsubtle method of questioning the Democratic candidate’s Christian commitment and raising fears (again) that he is really a Muslim…..Meanwhile Floyd Brown, a right-wing huckster and unabashed promoter of racial fear dating back to the notorious Willie Horton ad of 1988, is back pushing the Muslim theme against Mr. Obama…..And this week the world heard again from Mr. Rove, who raised the old “elitist” trope against Mr. Obama,…. So perhaps Mr. Obama will be portrayed as a Muslim Marxist who hangs out at the country club, sipping cocktails and sneering at the common folk. The true message in that kind of crude, contradictory propaganda is utter contempt for the target audience—in other words, for you.

Wow. While James Dobson is publicly doing McCain’s dirty work by trashing Obama’s commitment to the religious right cause, McCain is privately meeting with Dobson’s sworn enemy, the gay Republicans - a group that supports and is pushing for gay marriage. Note that once again McCain is trying to have it both ways. He’s publicly sucking up to the religious right, while he and his staff are privately holding regular meetings with the gays. But at the same time, McCain is keeping the gay meetings off his public schedule lest he appear a bit too tolerant, or catch cooties, or something. Flippity floppity goes the candidate. He’s Mr. Campaign Finance and a campaign finance criminal. He’s Mr. Clean Government and a Keating Five co-conspirator. And now Mr. Conservative is holding secret meetings with the marriage-loving gay agenda. You can bet heads are exploding in Dobson-land over this.

KICKIN’ ALASKA INTO THE BLUE COLUMN
With Wednesday’s ruling in the Exxon Valdez punitive damages case, a 5-3 majority on the U.S. Supreme Court took it upon themselves to write new law that shields corporate wrong-doers. Their ruling makes it much harder to prevent businesses from engaging in profitable, but dangerous corner-cutting. Exxon left a known alcoholic captain, someone who didn’t even have a valid license to drive a car, in charge of an overworked, skeleton tanker crew. And wouldn’t you know, that ship ended up on the rocks, spilling 11 million gallons of sticky crude oil across more than a thousand miles of Alaska coastline.

Yet Another Dem-Aligned Outside Group Closes Up Shop By Greg Sargent - June 26, 2008, 10:00AM Another Dem-leaning independent group has now closed up shop: The Fund for America, a group formed in preparation for the 2008 race that raised money from the Democratic Party’s heaviest-hitting donors, including George Soros.
It’s yet another sign of just how rapidly Obama is remaking the Democratic Party machinery in his own image: Fund for America is closing up because the Obama camp signaled to its big money people to stop giving to such groups.
It’s only the latest such organization to follow Obama’s will: Progressive Media USA, the group led by Media Matters’ David Brock, recently announced that it would not be running ads in the general election. And MoveOn recently shuttered its 527, as first reported here.
It’s worth stressing again what a major gamble this is on Obama’s part: In exchange for centralizing control of his message within his campaign, he’s effectively disarmed these big-spending groups, even as the GOP is almost certain to ramp up outside activities on its side. Of course, Obama’s enormously successful fundraising could render that activity moot.

Our mission is to hold our elected officials accountable for their actions and our target is Georgia’s highest ranking elected official - Saxby Chambliss. The stakes are too high this November. Saxby has consistently voted against the interests of hard-working, middle-class Georgians during his time in the Senate. His votes have caused real damage to our community, to our families, and most importantly to our children.

Let me get this straight. A SC Justice sells stock in Exxon a year ago before the case was brought to the SC and somehow that supports your case that he benefitted from the decision? Please explain how he benefited a year ago from a decision he just made this week.
Lets educuate the perpetually stupid for a moment. (That would be YOU, Truthman). If Exxon had a judgement against them, from a financial position, they would be required to book the loss in the fiscal year the judgement was made. Now, if that judgement is reversed, the company would BENEFIT from it by recouping the loss taken previously. Their stock would go UP, not down. So, if a SC justice were to attempt to benefit from his decision in this matter, he would sell his stock AFTER the decision, not before (a year before in this case).
Unless you’re Truthman, of course. In that case you do the dumbest thing possible at every opportunity.
You’re either lying or stupid, Truthman. Take your pick.
