Ahh, yes, Bruno’s corpse lurches aimlessly about:
{{{{Clinton will support a proposal to get the party’s rules and bylaws committee on May 31 to recommend that the delegations be seated regardless of the rules.-Urinal}}}}
And thee innocent villagers are terrorized by thee shambling monster:
{{{{Less than half of Mrs. Clinton’s backers in Indiana and North Carolina say they would support Mr. Obama if he were the nominee.}}}}
~~~~~
{{{{Regardless of marital status, income or church attendance, right-wing individuals reported greater life satisfaction and well-being than left-wingers, the new study found.}}}}
{{{{Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person’s tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities. To justify economic inequalities, a person could support the idea of meritocracy, in which people supposedly move up their economic status in society based on hard work and good performance. In that way, one’s social class attainment, whether upper, middle or lower, would be perceived as totally fair and justified.}}}}
In other words, we live in reality.
Bwa.
~~~~~
My rule of thumb for gauging how bad the United States is beating the terrorists in Iraq is by seeing how loud the Urinal whines about it all:
{{{{Entire sections of Baghdad’s embattled Sadr City district have been left nearly abandoned by civilians fleeing a U.S.-led showdown with Shiite militias and seeking aid after facing shortages of food and medicine, humanitarian groups said Wednesday.-Urinal}}}}
We must really be kicking the terrorist’s as-s.
Does anyone else not remember, not too long ago, when the pinko media was taunting us with the “lawlessness” in Baghdad and Basra? What did they think that would lead to?
And now that we are cracking down like they must have wanted us to, why is this an “atrocity” now?

We all know that John McCain famously remarked that he didn’t know much about economics. Given that, who are the people advising McCain? Today I’ve chosen three members of McCain’s “Brain Trust” to highlight. Let’s take a look:

Well I do declare. Andy (the Lying Bedwetter) sniped me last night. I shouldn’t be surprised. Once again his jealousy emerges. He thinks “thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods” just doesn’t apply to him. Just another Christian in his own mind.
I notice he took a shot at someone else. Was it Daniel? In any event, he tried to shed the sobriquet that so defines him - the Bedwetter - by referring to someone else as the Bedwetter. Now how can he ever hope to distance himself from the descriptive bedwetter when it fits him so well? I think we’ll just let him keep it.
Was it yesterday? No the day before, I believe, when he made the observation that homosexuality is a sin. Well, who made him God for a day? Before you know it he’ll start quoting the Christian history book to support his case. But then if you ask him the question: “Bedwetter, what is sin?”, he will define it in Judeo-Christian terms. Philosophy is just a word to him.
Perhaps he should study “tolerance”, then try to practice it.

Aahhh yes ml…the Political Porker signing off.
(((McCain, who has refused to request spending for projects in his home state of Arizona, has ——>long been a vocal critic<—— of earmarks.)))
(((Clinton and Obama announced this week they favor the ban, despite their own use of earmarks.)))
(((McCain said the ——>Democratic presidential candidates are late to the anti-earmarks position,<—— saying both have requested earmarks using taxpayer dollars “that are absolutely outrageously wasted.”)))
Agreed! Let’s take a look…we know McCain’s requests were ZERO, but
Obama’s total requested earmark funding was about $330 million.
Clinton grabbed $342 million worth of earmarks last year, ranking her 10th highest on the list of senators, according to the budget watchdog group Taxpayers for Common Sense.
WOW, “the newly minted” Obama really hit the ground running on earmarks. Some kinda CHANGE, eh?
I’ve often wondered how McCain continues to get elected when he doesn’t deliver the pork to Arizona. Must be something about his character…something about his straight talk approach.
“Charming” just doesn’t cut it for me.

Just an observation - I’ve never seen anyone making the “homosexuality is sin” case address this: are you speaking of self, of a characteristic (such as gender or hair color) or of behavior? What of the person who declares himself or herself homosexual but who leads a chaste life?
Always thought it might make a good sermon, too - (okay, got my joke for the day out of the way - wait, today’s a twofer - the soldier porn case was first).

Paul,
Perhaps you should pose the question about homosexuality to Andy. He is the one who posted that it is a sin.
Makes one pause for a moment and wonder about a gay Catholic priest (chaste, or otherwise) preaching a sermon about Onan. Or is the priest even gay if he just has feelings, but never acted on them? Maybe Onan had the solution?
Then again, I wonder if the men of ancient Greece (pick any city-state of the era) thought of themselves as homosexual, bisexual, or in the ovine sense, omnisexual.
That’s enough humor from me for the day.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!
The question about Obama is a natural follow-on. McCain admitted that learning is a lifelong endeavor - that there is always more to know. For that, Dems attack him.
So it follows, as they don’t attack Obama, they think he “knows it all.” Or apply different standards to him than to McCain.
Just saying, be careful in what you launch against McCain as it can easily be turned back against Obama.
Same with the “I expect McCain to tell that independent group to not just tell them to not run that ad, but to compel them.”
Regarding the porn thing, just wondered how gutsy your sites were in taking up a hot-button issue that couldn’t be spun to anti-Bush or anti-McCain.
I see it as a free speech issue and treating adults as adults. I know, that can be difficult for sites that regularly refer to soldiers, Marines, airmen and sailors as “kids.”

Well, the other material’s not ready yet, so back for a few -
ITN 9:16
The military sets the standards for what criteria soldiers need to meet to be considered deployable. Haven’t had a dental exam in the previous year? Nondeployable. Haven’t completed some briefings - sitting in a classroom learning about how to behave? Nondeployable.
Everything’s not a crisis.
Goldie - ITN
There are some clear differences between McCain and Obama that, I think, mean far more to many people that a reliance on personality - which really strikes me as a modification of the religious right’s values and standards test.
Take health care. McCain proposes a $2500 tax credit for people to get insurance. Half of households don’t pay income tax - so a credit? Appears out of touch. Doesn’t do anything about being deemed uninsurable.
Or foreign policy. Forget the 100 years line. In spite of DNC Chair Dean’s protests, it comes across as quibbling and misrepresentation. Obama’s cochair is a retired AF 4-star who’s spoken (and written) extensively about the realities of a superpower’s overseas commitments. So let Obama come forward with a new basing idea, or a revision to “the way it’s been done since WWII.” Would make lessen the effectiveness of the lack of experience charge.
I’m just amazed that so many sites that bemoan the lack of substance continue to generate so many links that are so… unsubstantive.
BTW - McCain’s on O’Reilly tonight. Be good to tune in and compare to Hillary’s interview and see what’s in store for Obama.

Goldie - it is too bad that the Democrats do not know what kind of damage their poddy has done and will continue to do if you are given the chance. This is the party of Andrew Jackson, the man who ordered the greatest American genocide. He founded the real Democrat party. (Jefferson’s party died out and was never called Democratic-Republican anyway. It was called Republican). Hillary and Barak even made speeches at the Jefferson/Jackson Day Dinner a few days ago in Indiana. Jackson also institutionalized the spoils system and this was the party of the Dred Scott decision.
This is the party of Tammany Hall and the Chicago political machine. Read ‘The Jungle’ and ‘Gangs of New York’.
This is the party of Woodrow Wilson who officially segregated Washington, DC. This is the party of such race baiters as J. William Fullbright, to whom William Jefferson Blythe Clinton gave a Presidential Medal of Freedom and Robert Byrd, who like Fullbright signed the Southern Manifesto and who was also a memeber of KKK.
This is the party of Lyndon Johnson. Need I say more about that kind of corruption?
I won’t go into the corruption of the Turman Administration, but it was rampant.
The Palmer Raids took place during the Wilson Administration. FDR was responsible for the imprisonment of thousands of innocent Japanese-American citizens. I always thought we were fighting the Nazis and the Japanese for precisely that kind of thing.
Johnson’s Great (haha) Society gave us perpetual welfare and a plethora of useless social programs which have never improved anything and the poverty rate is still where it was and illegitimacy has sky-rocketed.
Jimmy Carter was a disaster, period. He still is. We today are still suffering from his bad energy policies and the fact that the DemONcrats have blocked every effort to drill for oil in this country. President Bush and other Republicans foolishly went along with the farm lobby and the DEMONcrats to further complicate the situation and start diverting food production to ‘fuel’ production. Biofuels are NOT green and they are expensive to produce and their very production causes inflation in food prices - and the poor and middle class. Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, John Edwards, Al Gore and the Clintons never know the difference.

What’s cold is making the accusation that the military sends tens of thousands of troops who aren’t fit into combat. What’s cold is accusing senior military officers of hating our troops by doing so.
Reality is providing a couple of examples of the plethora of criteria the military uses and illustrating that when the real world intrudes on the theoretical, some of the criteria dreamed up by the headquarters beancounters may not be all that “critical.”
C’mon, second time you’ve defaulted to the “why do you hate the troops” line. Don’t you remember our previous conversation and what such a nonsensical comment leaves you open to?

I meant worldwide basing. The reason we maintain military forces - as opposed to, say, civilian aid forces. Or integrating Obama’s “service” theme. As noted the other day, we have military in 135 countries. Some are in small numbers, but still, 135. Out of less than 200 countries?

I really think that a man with such a stellar electoral record and such a sterling record as President should be a man to whom a major political party looks for advice!
I’m telling you younger folks, this thing is looking more and more like 1976 - Carter was vague and had ZERO foreign policy experience too. His time in the US Navy was spent on manouevres, so he could not even brag of battle experience. He did graduate from the Naval Academy, but Grant graduated from West Point, and Gore graduated from Yale. (He flunked out of Harvard Divinity School and Vanderbilt Law School). Where does one begin. Perhaps it’s best to start at that point when a blogger new to this blog, and a self-described Democrat attacks Obama (I think she referred to him as a bomb-throwing terrorist - sorry if I get that wrong), and is challenged by another blogger who observes that Obama would certainly be better than what we have now…she then responds about how much more money her husband (not her) is earning, her 2 luxury cars and big house…and this is how she measures the success (or failure) of this administration, it kinda makes you wonder about a lot of things. Is she a DINO? Or is she simply another racial bigot looking for an excuse not to vote for Obama? And does her family’s apparent economic success typify the rest of America? And is that the primary (or sole) criterion that she uses to evaluate this administration? Then again, what if three years ago her husband was under-employed or in school? Then tripling his earnings really wouldn’t mean much.
All that to say that she doesn’t paint herself in a flattering light.
BTW, Bedwetter. A couple of years ago when I first started blgging here, I mentioned my economic situation solely to put a perspective on a position I was taking concerning health insurance. Ever since then you have never missed an opportunity to use spin that fact using terms like “boast”, “brag”, and “parade”. That simply makes you a disingenuous liar…kinda like Rush Limbaugh. The Democrats’ budget Would raise taxes on individuals earning as little As $31,850. “Under both Democratic plans, tax rates would increase by 3 percentage points for each of the 25 percent, 28 percent and 33 percent brackets. “Cold is not placing resonsibility were it belongs. 43000 not medically ready by military standards. (That’s the reality dude)”
So why not ask the miltary commanders, majors up to generals, the Centcom commander, Gen Petraeus, why they hate their own troops? After all, they are the ones who make the “go, no-go” decision. They have the authority to waive criteria or apply them. Serious question, ITN. They are the ones with the responsibility. So they are the ones you, and your sites, need to ask that question to.
The real issue is, the sites take a not-to-big deal, or one with a simple explanation (not that there’s only one explanation) and use it as another “hate the troops” launch point.

I meant the Dem commercials stating, or implying, McCain says 100 years of war is okay with him. That’s the kind of misrepresentation Obama’s campaigning against.
He did say a long-term occupation, as we do in Europe and Japan, is okay with him.
Gen McPeak - Obama’s cochair, has written on the realities of this.
So refining it to “continuing the policies of the past 60 years” (which is accurate) could be an effective campaign point for Obama.
I’ve said in the past - this country should be on a crash course to change current consumption practices; generate more energy (traditional and alternate) from within our own country; do what we need to do to reduce our reliance on petroleum to a point where we can meet our requirements without reliance on Middle Eastern sources.
That eliminates one strategic interest leading to basing. The other’s jihadists - and while we may need forces stationed in the region to deal with that, I think the way we do that can be greatly changed from the traditional way we’ve done things.

AmVet,
I look at Carter this way. He was president for four years. Four years of his life. Who cares is he was a bad president? He’s even said he was a bad president. He admits his mistakes.
Those who criticize him, and have nothing to say except he was a bad president, to me, are not worth arguing with, because they are too narrow in their scope to even deal with. People who criticize his efforts with Hamas are simply being rascist, plain and simple. They do not want to see these people as human beings, which is the basis for their frustrations and lashing out with violence.
If you look at the history of many Israeli leaders, they make Hamas look like nothing, and to ignore the same type of violence perpetrated by the Israelis against the Palestinians is outrageous.
I have a friend who is a devout Jew who just got back from a tour of Palestine. He’s outraged at the Israeli government, and believe me, for this man to feel that way, that’s saying ALOT. You don’t find anyone more Jewish than this guy, believe me.
I feel this meeting with Hamas, will win him yet another Nobel Peace Prize, as it should.
Real peace and real negotiations take some hard internal questions and some real talk - this administration is completely incapable of this, or simply doesn’t want to. They claim to be the crusaders of freedom and peace in the ME, when their actions speak for their real intent.

I ask all of my fellow democrats to help the people of Florida and Michigan to ensure that our votes count. It is very important to the democrat party that all voters are allowed to participate in the nominating process for the party’s presidential candidate. Let us not slip back to the days of the poll tax, counting blacks as only 2/3rds of a person and women’s suffrage.
Florida Democrats knew the consequences of setting their primary early, and they were warned repeatedly about it. Then, aided by gleeful Republicans, they went ahead and violated party rules anyway. Now, they want their delegates to be seated anyway, regardless of the fact that no Democratic candidates campaigned in the state and all agreed that Florida delegates would not be seated. I wonder if the writer would be advocating the same action if Obama had won the vote. Sounds like a Hillary backer to me.

This is certainly not fool proof, but generally I look to the source, to determine whether an assertion is credible or not.
If ANYONE truly believes Carter is anti-Semitic, there must be serious doubts about their connection with reality.
Ditto for the fallacious argument that Chuck Hagel is a liberal.
Both claims are absolute rubbish.
The geopolitical reality is that the Middle East is a long term nightmare.
Solutions to the problems are agonizingly slow in coming and happen in fits and spurts. Carter was one brief shining moment in that history.
And this administration as fronted by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Condi (a third rate amateur according to Donald Trump) has been a major debacle.

Sorry it seems in circles. Let me rephrase - couple issues going on, here.
McCain did not say he’s fine with 100 years of war but implied he’s okay with forces there if no one’s getting hurt. DNC gives false impression and continues traditional attack ads. And it plays to the short-term advantage and ignores the long-term.
Obama could have an excellent counter to a 100-year occupation theme, without misrepresenting McCain. Great chance to set out new vision for how America will conduct itself, and position itself, in the Middle East and throughout the world.
I’m NOT happy with the idea of American troops in the MidEast for 100 years - as that implies we’ll have done nothing to achieve energy independence by then. Or take effective steps to counter, or minimize, jihadists. That’s the kind of noncreative thinking that concerns me about McCain and his advisors.
I’m NOT happy with the idea of American forces in most of those other countries around the world, either. Some say there are political realities for it. I’d say much of it is inertia.
I DO think it’s possible for this country to take steps to produce, conserve and invent our way out of reliance on MiddleEast oil - and to do so relatively quickly.
Same with counters to jihadist ideology. Not as quick, but possible.
I’ll stick my neck out and say, I’d be pleased if we had as great a presence, and interest, with the Persian/Arab world as we do in, say, Botswana.
I hope that’s clearer.

AJC Management says:
”{{{{Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person’s tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities. To justify economic inequalities, a person could support the idea of meritocracy, in which people supposedly move up their economic status in society based on hard work and good performance. In that way, one’s social class attainment, whether upper, middle or lower, would be perceived as totally fair and justified.}}}}
In other words, we live in reality.”
What other reality is there? Do people really think that the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor based on any other factor than hard work? That is like suggesting that Bush got into Yale on the basis of factors other than merit. Does any one really believe that? What kind of stupid world do the libs live in anyway?
If you think, as I do, that a kid raised in the projects of Atlanta or in a trailer park in Hawkinsville and going to public schools has as much chance at being successful as a kid raised by millionaires and going to private schools, then you are living in a right-wing reality-based world. You may point to statistics that say that I must be f—-ing insane and that may be true, but what those statistics won’t tell you is that the poor want to be poor and that the rich, generation after generation, earn their way to the top. That is the real world as understood by right-wingers.
Given this sort of horse sense, don’t you want us in charge of defeating the terrorists who “hate us for our freedoms?”
And don’t tell me that you think that they don’t hate us for our freedoms. If you don’t think that Bin Laden is sitting in a cave fuming about First Amendment Rights you just aren’t living in a right-wing reality based world, like me and Luck.
Also with respect to Myanmar. What did they do to upset God? My right-wing rationality tells me they must have done something pretty bad. Makes you wonder whether God really hates gays though? I mean you never hear of a hurricane in San Francisco.

This inane occupation grinds on. We have lost nearly 4100 of our bravest men and women. And untold billions of dollars.
This administration, their corporate masters and the “faithful” neo-con flunkies continue to try and justify this clusterf&ck.
Others blather on about how we broke it, now we get to fix it.
So utterly tragic.
But in order to add some levity, I see some parallels to Bushco’s Iraq “policy” in this scene from Monty Python’s The Holy Grail:
Listen, lad. I built this kingdom up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was swamp. Other kings said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show ‘em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So, I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp, but the fourth one… stayed up! And that’s what you’re gonna get, lad: the strongest castle in these islands.

ITN - concerning your assertion to concerned florida democrat that the Republican legislature is responsible for this mess vis-a-vis the election, you are only partially right. The Democrat (it is not democratic in the way it handles nominations, federal or local) party had to go along with this schedule or it would not have happened. If they had nixed it in favor of a caucus or a later primary, then it would have happened. The fact is that the DNC overreacted. Michigan and Florida should be able to work out some kind of compromise, but it won’t happen because Howeird Dean is an Osamabama backer.

Daniel - conservatives still believe in all of the things that you just said they do. However, some Republicans are not now, nor have they ever been, real conservatives. Daniel - First before you make the erroneous claim that Bill Clinton balanced the budget, please get facts straight. The Republicans forced a balanced budget deal on him after he projected a balanced budget in 9 years - back in 1995. We had one in 1997 after Laura Tyson had said that we would have 200 billion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see. So it has been done. Reagan was faced with Democrat controlled Houese of Representatives and a Senate with a slim Republican majority. He also was more concerned with the defeat of the Soviet Union in the Cold War. We won, so he made the right decision on those defense budgets.
Nixon did balance the budget in 1969 and the Democrat controlled Congress never cooperated again. The rest is history.
Franklin Roosevelt ran in 1932 on a platform calling for a balanced budget. He lied.
Democrats blocked all attempts to pass a balanced budget amendment.
There is plenty of blame to go around, but in the end for 60 of 64 years before 1994, the Democrats controlled the purse strings.
By the way, Eisenhower balanced 4 of eight budgets, the best record since the 1920s.

Barack won a decisive victory in North Carolina and finished closer than anyone expected in Indiana.
Right now, we need your help to carry our momentum forward.
The next state to vote in this election is West Virginia, and the enthusiasm for our campaign here is incredible. Thousands of people across the state have turned out for registration drives, office openings, and house parties to show their support for Barack.
But with the primary only six days away, we need to channel this energy to get out the vote in West Virginia — and you can help.
In the next week, we hope that you can join us in West Virginia — just as so many of you did for North Carolina and Indiana — to go door-to-door and build our movement here.
There’s no time to waste, so sign up to take a trip to West Virginia before Tuesday’s primary:
http://my.barackobama.com/CometoWV
If there’s one thing that the results from North Carolina and Indiana show us, it’s the power of grassroots volunteers.
Personal contact at a local level is the single most effective way to identify existing Obama supporters — and introduce undecided voters to the kind of change we’re working to bring about.
That’s what we’re working hard to do here in West Virginia — and in this final push, I hope we can count on you to come be part of our effort. The best part is, no prior political experience is necessary. We’ll give you all the tools you need to make a real difference for Barack.
You can start making that difference this week by coming to West Virginia. Sign up now — one of our staff members will contact you with more details:

Sure, there are cycles and lead and lag times. So people point fingers back to the previous favorite.
But if it happens on your watch, it’s yours.
BTW - Dave Stockman - Pres Reagan’s Budget Director - made the point in his book that all parties were quite happy to cut taxes and raise Defense - then they kinda ran out of steam and desire when it came to domestic cuts to pay for it all. There’s a lesson there, somewhere.

Add in the fact that he could not enjoy the satisfaction of seeing another of his knuckle draggers nominated (and in the process got thoroughly embarrassed by a Republican moderate who he like the other goofballs in the “base” absolutely despise) and you can practically feel the desperation.
Throw in the inability to locate those dreaded holes in the fossil record and the ignominious fact that his flat earth society is not invited to any parties and you have the recipe for blogdom gone horribly awry!
The fact is that we’ve got this despicable lunatic fringe on the run, boys. BIG TIME on the run.
Even at the misnamed conservative Wooten’s blog, the Republican wackos are getting out-manned, out-witted and out gunned by the liberals, moderates, progressives and independents every single day.
Go look for yourself if you doubt what I say.
It is very encouraging.
And it gets better.
Their second consecutive a$$-whipping is at hand and there is simply no way they can cut and run fast enough from Bushco.
They had their run and like the Third Reich it was blissfully short…

You are beating a dead horse. You brought up Jeremiah Wright and he’s Obama’s minister for twenty years. And we all know what kind of minister he was and is.
I have nothing to “save face” from since Wright was your man, lil’ lib, and his reputation stays with YOU and your wonder child Obama.
Good night, loser.

Dusty, Stop licking my toes! You’re making me laugh at your utter stupidity & lack of self-esteem.
And RW…you’re the (R)eal (W)anker of this blog. It’s funny how you conclude that someone who goes to a barber shop instead of a salon is an elitist while a golfer like you who takes off every Friday afternoon while the blue-collar folks are still working is….what? Sorry, but the AJC censors won’t print that!

al-Gitmo: I sense your despair and although cannot even comprehend why you do not feel joy and adulation over Bruno’s demise, like I do, I am somewhat sympathetic.
But me being a Conservative and always full of hope for the future, I see an opportunity for you here to exact your revenge for the wrongs that have been committed upon you by those kook dimokrats, the same whackjobs that banned you, remember them?
Cross over and vote for McBushie like all the other white moonbats already plan on doing.
That’ll show em.
Plus you might come to like being a wingnut, while more of you will be required than to just sit around and whine, the payoffs are much larger than what the Bureaucracy provides.

As if further evidence of my previous post was necessary:
Seeking to head off a debacle in the November elections, House Republican leader John Boehner has created a new committee of congressmen to advise the National Republican Congressional Committee.
(There’s one of my favorite words to describe Republican politics - debacle!)
The 12-member advisory committee was established to coordinate strategy, fundraising and member outreach in specific congressional districts, Politico.com reports.
Several members of the group are already raising money for GOP candidates who are challenging incumbent Democrats.
Fundraising by Republicans has been disappointing following their defeat in the last Congressional elections.
Good luck “conservatives”!
It ain’t gonna help, but good luck…

AJC Management says:
“dic-klicker: I know one thing for sure, a POS nut hugger like you doesn’t believe in a world where Condi Rice can be Sec of State or Barak Obama can a presidential nominee, albeit a soon enough losing one, like I do.”
Of course, I do. I think that every one has had an equal chance. The fact that its taken 232 years for a party to nominate a black man doesn’t reflect upon the American People it reflects on the inherent difficiences of that particular population. Had Obama not been 1/2 white, we’d still be waiting IMO. You see, it isn’t external issues that effect who gets to be President, like race or sex. The reason that all 43 President’s have been white men is merely reflective of the fact that we are better than black men and apparently far more qualified than white women. But don’t give up little girls, someday one of you will be good enough. And the blacks will finally get all-black man nominated it will just take time. You know time enough for you to become as good as us white men. Just you little ladies and blacks don’t blame the white man for keeping you down. We’ve all had an equal shot at the office of President and you know it. We white men are 43-0 and its all on merit, just as AJC Management says. No other factor at all, ever.
You see when you are a winger like me and AJC Management you can’t blame America or its people for why certain people don’t succeed, you blame the people who aren’t succeeding because it is clearly all their fault.
Some might say that if George Bush were born a black man named Lonnie Jackson in downtown Atlanta that he would not have been President. I think that this Lonnie Jackson would have overcome all obstacles and became the first black President. Bush won because Bush was better not because he was the grandson of a congressmen or the son of a President.
It seems to me that you have a choice to make in this debate: Has every President been a white male because of some sort of inherent advantage or have we all had an equal shot we are just not equal people? If you believe the latter you are good Republican like AJC and I.

{{We see from this morning’s USA Today that you’re picking up this theme, telling the paper: “There was just an AP article posted that found how Senator Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans is weakening again… . I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on.”}}
This is generally quite good. It’s an especially nice touch ending the sentence with a preposition; it shows that you aren’t one of those pedantic eggheads who want to take away guns and force them to go to college. You know that Mr. Arugula would say, “… on which to build a winning coalition.”

Spin away {{{ricki ballerina}}}, it won’t work as a salve.
You’ll just have to lick your wounds like the good little neo-con lap dog you are.
If you weren’t such a gutless and myopic nitwit you would read and even attempt to understand the following information.
But I sure do love shoving this down your neo-con throat.
The final result was a thirty-one-seat pickup for the Democrats, including the pickup of the Vermont At-Large seat, previously held by Independent Bernie Sanders who caucused with the Democrats. Democrats defeated twenty-two Republican incumbents and won eight open Republican-held seats.
Republicans won NO (none, nada, nary, zilch) seats previously held by Democrats in either the House or the Senate for the first time since the party’s founding.
Almost unthinkable. But absolutely delightful.

This may come as a surprise to you, dimwit, but America elects it’s leaders through an election process where all of the people, with the exception of those disenfranchised by the dimokrat party, get to vote.
I agree with you, that at one time, America was a very unfair place for blacks, but that is why the REPUBLICAN PARTY was formed, to fight the civil war and free the blacks from slavery and that is why REPUBLICANS enacted the Civil Rights legislation over the objections and filibusters of the dimokrats.

Wow Real Wanker,
It’s very revealing about what you think is important. I was bothered about what someone says about having a black president.
You, on the other hand don’t seem bothered by that at all. You are more concerned with speculating on things about which you know nothing. But then you do that often.

This must be open letter day. This one’s to Barry:
We have all become familiar with Senator Obama’s new brand of politics. First, you demand civility from your opponent, then you attack him, distort his record and send out surrogates to question his integrity. It is called hypocrisy, and it is the oldest kind of politics there is.
{{{It is important to focus on what Senator Obama is attempting to do here: He is trying desperately to delegitimize the discussion of issues that raise legitimate questions about his judgment and preparedness to be President of the United States.
Through their actions and words, Senator Obama and his supporters have made clear that ANY criticism on ANY issue — from his desire to raise taxes on millions of small investors to his radical plans to sit down face-to-face with Iranian President Ahmadinejad – constitute negative, personal attacks.
Senator Obama is hopeful that the media will continue to form a protective barrier around him, declaring serious limits to the questions, discussion and debate in this race.}}}

N-Ga,
I see this happen frequently here.
Somebody/anybody rcounts an event that has happened and if it does not fit the construct of the neo-con view, it is automatically decried.
Very fascistic.
But more significantly I think it attests to how the neo-cons are simply and completely intentionally out of touch with what is actually happening in and being said all over America.
I swear they actually believe their tripe and self-talk on these blogs supersedes reality.
We who venture into the real world with our eyes and ears open, know better…

AJC Management,
I know that’s why I hate Newt Gingrich. He gave credit for the 1960’s Civil Rights legislation to the “liberal wing of the Democratic Party.” What is he smoking?
I think you will see, as I do, a causal relationship between the lack of success by blacks in this country and how they vote. Over 90% of them vote for the Democratic Party. Obviously, they are en masse, just plain stupid. I mean can the complete and total rejection of the GOP by blacks be seen as anything except irrational? I mean, blacks at one time (until the late 50’s and early 60’s) voted for the Republicans, but now they never do. I guess it just proves Darwin wrong, because they are just getting dumber. I mean someone might suggest that the GOP has been race-baiting and pitting blacks against whites for the last 40 years but you and I know that if there is one thing that conservative Republicans love and that is black folk. I remember reading about the few blacks that attended the GOP convention in 2004 and they were complaining that the white Republicans kept asking them to carry their luggage. I think that’s a good thing. I mean at least they weren’t worried about them stealing it.

George Bush’s objection to Canadian RX was that only drugs made in America are safe. The Rushannities had a field day a few months ago about how only a liberal terrorist would trust imported drugs. As George Bush said those words, he knew the truth: 90% of the RX americans ingest are made in China. (for many mainstay rx)
Conservatism is dead for this very reason, and about a million reasons more, man.
Obama will get 67% of the vote in Novemeber.
What’s amazing is how quickly this campaign evolves. The assertions made by the round tables and the pundits have been wrong for over a year, in fact, their assertions become obsolete as they speak them.

I don’t understand it either, dic-klicker, so let me allow Lyndon Baines Johnson, dimokrat to explain it:
{{{{“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don’t move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there’ll be no way of stopping them, we’ll lose the filibuster and there’ll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It’ll be Reconstruction all over again.”}}}}
I guess the dimokrats are just a bunch of conniving little POS, aren’t they, nut hugger?
