Yeah, sure, Romney is out of the GOP race because he didn’t always come across the right way on camera. Romney is a good business man, but doesn’t always necessarily connect with a national conservative audience. Though before you commie pinko atheist marxist pigs start jumping for joy and giving each other high-fives, consider that Romney was just bowing out gracefully so that the American voter could consolidate their support behind just one pro-Victory Republican candidate so that the U.S. of A. can continue its hard-charging march towards Ultimate Victory in the War On Terror by defeating those pacifist Demoncrat appeasement surrenderist pinko clowns, Hitlery and Osama in a November landslide. After we defeat those soiled diaper-wearing, America-hating turncoat traitors, we can then turn all of our undivided attention to our Islamafacist emenies outside of the U.S., who continue to plot to destroy this country and our way of life, just like their domestic counterparts, the Defeatocrats. Forget waterboarding, just get it over with and drown the ba$tards.

See if you can pick out the Vents submitted by the AJC staff:

{{{{Cynthia Tucker says “Obama showed courage on Iraq, KKKlinton did not.” As a conservative, for once I agree with her.-Urinal Vent}}}}
{{{{Each vote for McCain drives a stake through the heart of Limbaugh and Hannity. Help me kill the beast (Can we kill the Huffington Post too, huh, huh?).-Urinal Vent}}}}
All of the above, eh?

{{{{Circulation revenue has declined steadily since 2003, and the number of copies sold has fallen about 2 percent a year. The proof is in the pudding, if you choose to see it.

Ahh, yes, “global warming:”
{{{{The average temperature in January 2008 was 30.5 F. This was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average, the 49th coolest January in 114 years.}}}}

{{{{I ruminate in this way because something is happening. Mrs. KKKlinton is losing this thing. It’s not one big primary, it’s a rolling loss, a daily one, an inch-by-inch deflation. The trends and indices are not in her favor. She is having trouble raising big money, she’s funding her campaign with her own wealth, her moral standing within her own party and among her own followers has been dragged down, and the legacy of KKKlintonism tarnished by what Bill Clinton did in South Carolina. Unfavorable primaries lie ahead. She doesn’t have the excitement, the great whoosh of feeling that accompanies a winning campaign.-Noonan.}}}}

Goon Harry Reid, playing politics with your money:
{{{{Mr. Reid didn’t much care if the package failed. What he really wants is ammunition to use against incumbent GOP Senators in November. Republicans defeated his package by a single vote on Wednesday, and Mr. Reid immediately rejoiced that “Given a chance to act as recession looms, more than 40 Republicans today said ‘no’ to helping 20 million seniors and ‘no’ to 250,000 disabled veterans. They said ‘no’ to those who have lost their jobs and ‘no’ to small business.”}}}}
{{{{Even Ms. Pelosi rebuked Senate Democrats, but no matter.}}}}
~~~~~
{{{{There is some talk of holding hastily arranged caucuses in Florida and Michigan to select delegates that will be seated. Whether or not that plan succeeds, the fact that it’s come to this for the Democrats illustrates why it’s better to have a low-profile party chairman like Mike Duncan, who is an experienced political operator, than to have a chairman like Howard Dean, who is popular with activists but who doesn’t know what he’s doing. It’s impossible to imagine Duncan calling Dean for tips on how to run a political party.}}}}
Look at the pinkos at the Urinal hating on our brave soldiers:
{{{{Detainee dies after soldiers raid slum- U.S. and Iraqi troops raided Baghdad’s largest Shiite slum, Sadr City, and arrested 16 people. The U.S. military said one of the detainees later died.}}}}
So what are you insinuating happened to the “detainee,” POS AJC?
Leaving it to our imaginations?
Did the US jackboots trample him?
Iraqi and coalition security forces conducted an operation targeting special group criminal elements today in eastern Baghdad. Sixteen criminals were initially detained; {{{{one died later from wounds received during the operation.}}}}
See what I mean, this guy died fighting the Coalition forces and the Urinal scumbags are trying to gin up another Abu Ghraib.
You goons cannot understand anything.
Duh, the news papers are losing their reader base to the internet and cable news services. As the paper reading population gets old and dies, they are not replaced. Why? Because younger generations can get their news from online sources. Always so quick to think that it’s because of their “librul wayz”.
Well, I guess if the Democratic Party is dying like you say it is, then how do you account for the near $14 million that Obama and Clinton pulled in over the past three days? It took McLame all of January to pull in just $7 million.
The Democratic party isn’t fighting over itself like the republican party. We’re not having the identity crisis. OH, I want to be the Gawd fearin’ Christian president, NO I want to be the fiscal conservative and still screw the middle class, NO I WANT TO BE THE WAR HAWK! 100 years of more war!
Who wants to vote for that? Oh yeah, no one. Dems got nearly 6 million more votes than repubs too in Super Tuesday. See the trend?
Goldie,
I think you are right, and I think McCain will say whatever, whenever, to whomever, to pander to everyone. Him being the front runner for so long will give him plenty of time to screw up.
Obama and Hillary need to lay off the sucker punches, act nice, and talk about the issues.
The pundits yesterday were talking about how Romney dropping out will give the Republicans an opportunity to rebuild their “war chest” with money - that, of course, is assuming that people will donate their money, which they are not doing.
McCain, Romney, and Huckabee are all in serious financial trouble. It’s no coincidence. People are tired of their message.
I chuckle to myself thinking about McCain debating either one of them. He’ll be eaten alive.
Just picture Obama and McCain in a debate - seriously, just picture it in your mind. Okay, there yet? I feel sorry for McCain.
{{“One of the things I’m most proud of about our campaign is not the amount of money we’ve raised, but the number of people giving it.
As of this afternoon, more than 300,000 people have given in 2008 alone, taking ownership of this campaign by making a donation of whatever they can afford.
This has never happened before. No one has ever built a campaign involving so many Americans as true stakeholders.
It speaks volumes not only about the kind of campaign we’re running, but also about how we want politics to be.”}}
Everybody say “NO!” to corporate and lobbyist campaign donations, and we can begin taking America back for Da People — go to BarackObama.com to donate $1 or $10 or whatever you can afford, and keep The Big O’s big mo’ to give Americans a say in how “we want politics to be” in the future!
RW,
“Hillary is demanding multiple one on one debates with Obama. Do you really think she wants those so she can play nice and talk about the issues?”
No I don’t think Hillary wants to play nice, but if she knows what’s good for her (good one, huh) she will.
She’s challenging Obama to all these debates because she is desperate too and running out of money - she needs the exposure.
The ball is in Obama’s court - he’s accepted two, I think. He’s in charge and she knows it. Why should he debate her FIVE times? What’s the point? There’s not one, and Obama knows it. Hillary could shoot herself in the foot and say “Oh he’s scared to debate me” but no one buys that.
Obama’s cultish message? No, not cultish, hardly. Maybe to those who hate him, but he’s like a friggin’ rock star - and has the charisma to back it up.
Remember, many people vote solely on persona, and Obama vs. Clinton or McCain no contest there. Certainly not my preference, but most people don’t actually keep up with issues, and the ones that do? McCain will have plenty of time to contradict himself, over and over and over again.
Obama’s message is positive and people are buying it. People are tired of the same old drudge from Republicans and are looking for hope which Obama is giving them.
With the race to succeed him reaching a critical juncture, President Bush this morning plans to begin rallying the Republican base around its presumptive nominee, John McCain, and in the process define his own legacy for the general election campaign to come. In a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, Bush intends to offer an implicit endorsement of McCain’s bona fides as a true conservative in the face of deep skepticism on the right. Although he does not plan to mention McCain by name, the president plans to say whoever ends up being the Republican nominee will represent conservative values.
McCain has betrayed justice by shooting down Conservative judges nominated by Bush. McCain has betrayed his nation by forcefully encouraging the invasion of the USA by a foreign enemy. McCain has betrayed the American people by opposing tax reduction. McCain has defied the welfare of American citizens by refusing to defend us from domestic enemies. McCain has betrayed his party time and time again by acting like and voting like a Democrat.
Really?:
{{{{In March 1968, McCain was put into solitary confinement, where he would be for two years.[44] In July 1968, McCain’s father was named Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Command (CINCPAC), stationed in Honolulu and commander of all U.S. forces in the Vietnam theater.[4] McCain was immediately offered a chance to return home early:[40] the North Vietnamese wanted a mercy-showing propaganda coup for the outside world, and a message that only privilege mattered that they could use against the other POWs.[44] McCain turned down the offer of repatriation due to the Code of Conduct of “first in, first out”: he would only accept the offer if every man taken in before him was released as well.[48] McCain’s refusal to be released was even remarked upon by North Vietnamese officials to U.S. envoy Averell Harriman at the ongoing Paris Peace Talks.}}}}
For these contributions Keating hoped (expected) McCain and four other senators - John Glenn, Dennis DeConcini, Alan Cranston, Donald Riegle, would protect him from federal banking regulators. (Many POWs and families of MIAs would strongly disagree that is time to close this chapter! Rush is right, believe it or not.
RUSH: I’d be out on the golf course, all these people, “What are we going to do to defeat Hillary?” There was so much fear of Hillary, “What are we going to do?” I’d say, “She puts her pants on one leg at a time like every other guy; don’t be worried, don’t be frightened.” And I think if she gets the nomination, that’s no longer a lock. If she gets the nomination, she redefines negative turnout.
CALLER: Right.
RUSH: She just polarizes people. I think she’s going to gin up enough anti-Hillary turnout out there to perhaps be a boon to whoever the Republican nominee is.
Honest to God truth:
Just came from my local Wachovia where the AJC has set up a table by the door and is shamelessly harassing the bank customers about subscribing to their filthy socialist rag. The popcorn was excellent and free too. The low rent table sqwuaker understood perfectly my answer to her sales pitch, which was a simple and straight forward “Puh-Leeze.”
Now for the funny part; an 80 something year old blue hair, social security dependent and hunched over too, when asked if she would like to subscribe replied with the following, loud enough for onlookers to hear-
“I don’t read that crap, it’s too liberal.”
Imagine my enjoyment as that scene unfolded.
And for all of you pinkos from the AJC that are monitoring my every word, call your low rent snake oil sales people and ask them if what I say is true.
“BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — The images in the Basra police file are nauseating: Page after page of women killed in brutal fashion — some strangled to death, their faces disfigured; others beheaded. All bear signs of torture.
The women are killed, police say, because they failed to wear a headscarf or because they ignored other “rules” that secretive fundamentalist groups want to enforce.
“Fear, fear is always there,” says 30-year-old Safana, an artist and university professor. “We don’t know who to be afraid of. Maybe it’s a friend or a student you teach. There is no break, no security. I don’t know who to be afraid of.”
Her fear is justified. Iraq’s second-largest city, Basra, is a stronghold of conservative Shia groups. As many as 133 women were killed in Basra last year — 79 for violation of “Islamic teachings” and 47 for so-called honor killings, according to IRIN, the news branch of the U.N.’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.”
It is so refreshing to see a free people expressing their religious convictions. It is worth the thousands of dead and maimed troops and the billions of dollars spent to see the end product of the freedom we have provided to these people. It is very clear that this Iraqi society was more than ready to accept the liberties and freedoms we hold so dear and to have a country of religious zealots, by religious zealots and for religious zealots.
I think we should have a sharing of ideas with the Iraqis. We can teach them about elections and they can teach us how to keep our women in line. Pretty soon they will be electing religious psychos in turbans to office and we’ll be stoning w*******, as defined by the Holy Scripture of course, in the streets. I think both countries will be better for it.
Frankly I’d just like to covert these people to Christainity and then unleash them on the populace here at home. Then we wouldn’t have abortions, porn, divorce, pre-marital sex, homos or any of those “liberal” things we have to tolerate today. I mean if these people would just accept the baby Jesus as savior, I think we could join forces in our ‘pro-family’ agenda. Maybe if we sent Pat Robertson over there and told them that Southern Baptist theology is every bit as intolerant, ignorant, conservative and bigoted as the
‘Everyone we now fight in Iraq is al Qaida.’
Glenn Greenwald takes note of the increasing propensity of journalists to follow the administration’s lead in describing all Iraqi fighters as al Qaeda:
That the Bush administration, and specifically its military commanders, decided to begin using the term “Al Qaeda” to designate “anyone and everyeone we fight against or kill in Iraq” is obvious. … But what is even more notable is that the establishment press has followed right along, just as enthusiastically. […]
What makes this practice all the more disturbing is how quickly and obediently the media has adopted the change in terms consciously issued by the Bush administration and their military officials responsible for presenting the Bush view of the war to the press.
Most attacks on Americans still come from the Sunni Arab insurgency. The insurgency comprises former elements of the Saddam Hussein regime, disaffected Sunni Arab Iraqis, and common criminals. It has significant support within the Sunni Arab community. …
Al Qaeda is responsible for a small portion of the violence in Iraq, but that includes some of the more spectacular acts: suicide attacks, large truck bombs, and attacks on significant - religious or political targets.
It’s really very simple Steve: Mendacity. Lies and Liars led to this disaster, the same old story under a new cover. Will no one hold the speculators who lied on their loan applications responsible? These liars should not get any kind of rebate - Do you remember the story about the Long Island cocktail parties in which hundreds of spec homes were “sold” to long island investors who swore on loan applications that they were buying the houses to live in? They put nothing down, the builder handled all expenses, and when the house was completed in 12 to 24 months, the liar house owner was guaranteed 30 to 60 thousand dollars profit. Some of the Long Island Liars filed papers for ten or more of these to be Owner Occuppied houses. Now the houses cannot be sold, so the Liars are trying to walk away, scot free..HOLD THEM FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DEBTS ON THESE OTHERWISE NON RECOURSE LOANS, THEY COMMITTED FRAUD AND ARE TRYING TO STICK YOU AND ME WITH THE BILL. If the President appointed Attorney General says that torture isn’t illegal when the President orders it, then it isn’t, period.
If the President appointed Attorney General says that ordering wiretapping isn’t illegal then it isn’t, period.
You see this is a country of Kings where the law applies to you but not to the King. Go waterboard someone and see if you don’t go to jail. This is what we fought for during the Revolution because King George wanted to be treated like a regular guy, but we wanted an all poweful King who could do as he wishes always without accountability.
So rememebr a President can listen to your phone calls and torture people and there will be no prosecution, investigation or impeachment, but if you fudge about a hummer you are going down because of THE RULE OF LAW. Remember that mantra RULE OF LAW, RULE OF LAW, blah, blah, blah. Kinda ironic now ain’t it? Suckers!!!! The sick thing is we can argue that we are right on both issues. You know why? Because the ideology of the right is more important than country or law or any other value you can think of. Being a winger is kinda like being a member of a criminal enterprise like the mafia. Loyalty to the family above all else.
About Obama….
I’ve been waiting for the guy to give me some specifics. He works diligently to avoid them giving us only his hope for change. Up against Hillary he’s gonna have to tack left. With that little maneuver he’ll lose the moderates and independents.
He IS a svengali. The night of the primary 25 to 30 Democratic undecideds said they were leaning towards Obama. When asked if anyone could share anything he had accomplished while in the Illinois State Senate or the U.S. Senate, they were dumbstruck—NO RESPONSES. They appeared to be embarrassed as well.
Talk about sheeple. Voting “present”!
Hey Luck it isn’t about “applying the Constitution” The US Code prohibits torture or conspiracy to torture:
“Title 18 Sec. 2340 and 2340A
As used in this chapter— (1) “torture” means an act committed by a person acting under the color of law specifically intended to inflict severe physical or mental pain or suffering (other than pain or suffering incidental to lawful sanctions) upon another person within his custody or physical control; (2) “severe mental pain or suffering” means the prolonged mental harm caused by or resulting from— (A) the intentional infliction or threatened infliction of severe physical pain or suffering; (B) the administration or application, or threatened administration or application, of mind-altering substances or other procedures calculated to disrupt profoundly the senses or the personality; (C) the threat of imminent death; or (D) the threat that another person will imminently be subjected to death, severe physical pain or suffering, or the administration or application of mind-altering substances or other procedures calculated to disrupt profoundly the senses or personality; and (3) “United States” means the several States of the United States, the District of Columbia, and the commonwealths, territories, and possessions of the United States. (a) Offense.— Whoever outside the United States commits or attempts to commit torture shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both, and if death results to any person from conduct prohibited by this subsection, shall be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life. (b) Jurisdiction.— There is jurisdiction over the activity prohibited in subsection (a) if— (1) the alleged offender is a national of the United States; or (2) the alleged offender is present in the United States, irrespective of the nationality of the victim or alleged offender. (c) Conspiracy.— A person who conspires to commit an offense under this section shall be subject to the same penalties (other than the penalty of death) as the penalties prescribed for the offense, the commission of which was the object of the conspiracy.”
Clearly, the law exists and it applies, but it won’t because the President appointed a guy who says that it wasn’t illegal. So Bush can ask, “Hey, is it legal for me to kill Luck?” And the AG says “sure” then you are dead.
This campaign is not about sheeple. It is about PEOPLE.
It is not about left or right. It’s about some word that rhymes with “left” (heft?) and…MIGHT.
That’s right. Because this campaign is about the MIGHT that might be left after we finish taking a BITE out of what’s LEFT!
Because this country, this nation, is not about who’s left after we’re through being right. It’s about HOPE and CHANGE, and the CHANGING HOPE for CHANGE ITSELF.
Dusty,
Again, I’ve told you before, you can save all the anti-Bosch hate drama by simply typing:
“God, I just hate Bosch.”
It saves your time to go on to hate more things, please don’t waste your time on me. It’s much easier to simply type that, then you can put more time and energy into your other hate dramas and manifestos, it’s a much more efficient way of using your energy.
RW,
I was speaking in general terms. It’s the same ol’ debate. I can say his issues are agents of change, you can say they aren’t. It’s the same run around. Obama is doing well, and he’ll continue doing well. If he gets the Dem nomination, the race is over.
getalife and RW,
I guess checking out of rehab and finding somewhere to perform via satellite can be a huge logistics problem. Poor girl, she’s very talented, hate to see it all go up in smoke!
The end of our democracy, and our country, will come when those on the take from the government outnumber those paying into it, yet still have an equal vote. Those on the take will never vote themselves out of a free ride. The problem with this scenario should be obvious to any rational thinking person.
RB from Gwinnett,
That argument is used quite often, but it’s as dishonest coming from those of us on the right as are the daily ramblings we see from the left.
It assumes that man has no yearning for freedom and liberty and that all citizens that reached a point low enough to get government support would want to stay there.
There comes a tipping point where the citizenry realizes that their freedom is eroded every time a new government redistribution of wealth program takes place. The trick is to find that out before you have fallen under the control of a socialist dictatorship. Make no mistake, that’s what the left hopes to one day accomplish, but I have more faith in the desire of the American people to be free and successful for them not to catch on in time.
While there is most assuredly some segment of the population that would be fully content to have the government serve their every need it falls far, far short of 50% + 1.
