Hickabee?

~~~~~
Look at the White Powers disenfranchising millions of black voters:
{{{{At least two Los Angeles-area polling places were shuttered this morning when voters showed up to cast their ballots. Joanna Ruhl, 25, waited more than an hour to vote at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Angeles, where the doors were locked until 11 a.m and voting did not get underway until shortly after noon.}}}}
{{{{California’s top election official said Tuesday that her office had fielded complaints from nonpartisan voters who had trouble casting presidential primary ballots.}}}}
That’s Dieboldical.
~~~~~

{{{{For the party faithful, there are a lot more blemishes on the Democratic record. The spokesman for the modern Democratic reform impulse, William Jennings Bryan, ended his life battling the teaching of evolution. The progressive standard-bearer Woodrow Wilson was also a notorious racist who led the country into World War I. Franklin Delano Roosevelt instigated the internment of Japanese Americans as well as the New Deal. In a liberal historian’s tableau of American history, these are the party’s jewels whose half steps forward marked the nation’s democratic progress.}}}}

{{{{Liberal Democrats have always looked to the future with hope and embraced marginalized groups. When they look back, even to the deeds of their own former leaders, they see trails of tears like the one over which Andrew Jackson drove out the Cherokee. Blemishes on past presidents, even those who pointed the way toward future progress, tend to stain them wholly for at least some key elements within the Democratic coalition.}}}}

And now they are running a Klanner for president.

Once a bigot, always a bigot.

~~~~~
Suck as-s liberals, so eager to point the finger at our brave troops, always spineless enough to cover up al Qaeda atrocities:
{{{{Reported civilian deaths anger U.S. allies in Iraq}}}}
Hitlery RATham KKKlinton is nothing more than an angry promisculous left-wing lesbian bisexual feminist commie facist who wants to force her gay socialist agenda down the throats of the American people through mind control.
BaROT Saddam HUSSEIN OSAMA bin Laden is a dangerous undercover Al-Qadea operative who’s been planted in the American political system by islamafacist muslim extremists to undermine our way of life by destroying our government from within. BaRAT H. Osama is out to destroy this nation wholesale by trying to trick the American people into electing a muslim terrorist plant for President…vote Democrap at your own risk! Looks like voting Democrap has gone from being incredibly stupid to downright dangerous and a national security risk. A party that would put forth a muslim extremist and a lesbian facist is not a party that cares about your national security only your destruction!
Harold Meyerson writes in Wednesday’s Washington Post:
The Repudiation of Rove
So how have Republican conservatives managed to be on the losing end of so many primaries?
It’s not just that the conservative vote has been split between Romney and Huckabee. It’s also that conservatives have run out of agenda.
With his preemptive war and seemingly permanent occupation in Iraq, and his attempt to privatize Social Security, George W. Bush pushed American conservatism past the point where the American people were willing to go — pushed them, in fact, to the point where they recoiled at the conservative project. And with that, American conservatism shuddered to a halt. In the 2005-06 congressional session, Republicans still controlled both houses of Congress, yet they introduced no major legislation.
This exhaustion of conservatism has been apparent all along in the Republican presidential contest, where the chief point of agreement among the leading candidates has been to make permanent both the Bush tax cuts for the rich and our occupation of Iraq. The conservative agenda has been winnowed down to supporting what remains of Bushism. That’s not only a losing formula for November, it also means that intellectually, conservatism is running on empty
Goldie,
Did we call Obama and Huckabee or what? I saw more people voting at my precinct yesterday than ever before. It was great.
I’ve always loved to vote, and do it whenever I can. I used to love the little booths with the levers and buttons, it was cool.
Anyhoo! Obama has got some work to do, but he’s definitely catching up and I’m glad to see it.
I have to say this though, I really do not like our current system of delegates and the electoral college in the general election. Here’s why:
it seems to me that if you live in a heavy populated state like California, your vote just seems to count more, it’s more important, and I feel that everyone’s vote should be equal. I don’t know, the socialist side of me just doesn’t like that much.
Another question for anyone who can answer it:
Does anyone know the actual vote count for the candidates? I know some of the states don’t release that information (like Iowa if I remember), but I’d like to know the popular vote count.
It seems to me that all the Republican candidates are kind of getting shafted in the primary process because their races are so close (in the popular vote) and I really don’t think it’s fair (I know, a whiny word….whatever). Alot of their races seem to be in the 30/30/30% range and it just doesn’t seem right.
Okay, enough complaining. I’ve got the flu or something and I’ve taken WAY too much cold medicine this morning, but codeine is cool.
Also, Bosch @ 8:45 — I’m with you on our messed up election process and Electoral College! We should also have a holiday declared for our General Election day, so that everyone has a better chance of being off work and able to take the time to vote. Or, alternative to that, we should all be able to vote via Internet and dump our electronic voting machines that allow no access to the source code… and on, and on…
By Bosch
Goldie,
Maybe this is just the codeine talking, but if Obama doesn’t get the nomination, do you think he’d run as an independent?
Wouldn’t that be something, but I think when it comes down to it, with all the endorsements he’s been getting, I think it will come down to the convention and the superdelegates. By then, I think Hillary and Bill will shoot themselves in the feet just a little more and turn the tide even wider.
Uh, how can this be a “bad” thing?
Conservatism is and will always be a powerful force, see Amnesty, overwhelming rejection of, for proof of what I say.
All three of these dudes know for a fact that none of this will matter in November if they do not have Conservative backing or our dollars.
Meanwhile, you liberals confirmed your racist leanings by not rejecting the Klanner Rodham. Your election results are a confirmation of hate and animosity, divided along the lines of race.
Even more evidence than the election itself, the people getting exit polled said that they voted for the black man but the results turned out to be the opposite of that.
We’re they too embarrassed to admit voting for the Klanner?
Did they do what demokrats always do, say one thing while doing the exact opposite?
By Bosch
Goldie and Mrs. G,
The reason I mentioned Obama running as an Independent is that I truly think that we need a viable third party.
Like RE said yesterday (or the day before) that most of the people in our country just want what’s right for the country, and there will always be those on the fringe who hate either party or what they do, no matter what, and they are the ones who scream the most and cause our government to be totally ineffective.
It seems to me that McCain and Obama are the two who seem, at least to me, most willing to cross those barriers. I actually think it would be awesome to see a McCain/Obama or Obama/McCain ticket. And for all of you out there who I made spit coffee or some other liquid out of your mouth with that comment, I apologize.
Vote counts:
Clinton , Hillary 7,330,262
Obama , Barack 7,283,167
McCain , John 3,588,278
Romney , Mitt 2,943,190
Huckabee , Mike 1,781,783
Paul , Ron 394,436
The AJC election site is the source. http://www.ajc.com/news/content/shared/news/interactives/super_tuesday/results.html
Pretty well follows the delegates. I’d say the FF set this up pretty well.
I would love it if Obama and Hillary both ran. They would split the vote and lose big a’la Ross Perot and BC winning with 40% of the vote. I don’t disagree we need a 3rd party, but having 2 nearly identical people running doesn’t accomplish anything. Voting and policy wise, Hillary is basically Obama with less integrity.
By Goldie
Hillary and Bill’s supporters obviously have a blind spot about winning in November — it’s not about winning the usual blue states of CA, NY and NJ to make it happen… it’s about winning the most independent voters to join the Dems in defeating the Repugs, and the Clintons are unable to do that. They will only win the usual 35% base of the Dem Party. No popularity or inspiration for putting the Clintons back in the WH from the MAJORITY OF VOTERS!
Will you not be happy until they’re left with nothing but good stern talking toos and timeouts?
Will you ever admit the fact that waterboarding is not defined as torture under our laws, was not invented by W and was an approved technique during the Clinton administration? Obama won all over the place!!! Whereas Hillary only really won in the Northeast. *He also landslided her in more states! Most of her wins were close wins! **We will get more delegates!!!!
Clinton has won 7 states only:
Massachusetts (sucks..I know but it’s okay really) New Jersey New York Oklahoma Tennessee Arkansas Arizona
States not in yet these two can go either way..really California can go either way. Hillary is leading but the numbers aren’t in yet):
*California—-Obama leads with the white vote! 49% to Hillary’s 43% and he leads with the AA vote over 80%. She only leads him in California with the Hispanic vote and Asian votes (What happened with them?????…..LOL I’m just kidding….but really…come on guys!). It will be a close race..no matter who wins and we will gain a lot of delegates here. She may win the state….it’s okay! We did great there and the votes are not nearly all in yet! Plus most of her votes came from absentee voters over a month ago.
*New Mexico (too close to call)
Let’s get serious. I think these are serious times. This country has been at WAR with Iraq since 1991. One candidate even suggested 100 more years.
Fuel cost is up 200% in 7 years. Jobs are leaving this country as fast as the corporations can find cheaper labor. Then the fools import the finished product to the same people the just layed off. That ran out when credit card companies started going under.
Then we waste precious time fightin about party and not looking at who really mean the people good.
Politicians (all of them) pledge their allegiance to their contributors. That is a fact.
Look at the contributors of the condidates and you will see where their allegiance lies.
Don’t listen to pundits, look for youraelf.
I’m more than open to ANY DEMOCRAT BUT HILLARY.
Close minded=Too stupid to wake up and realize that Hillary Hopekiller is the start of an american aristocracy. Bush-Bush-Bush-Clinton-Clinton-Bush-Bush-Clinton-Clinton.
I, for one, am prepared to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to ensure that we do not have an era of almost 40 years, TWO GENERATIONS of rule by two families.
Not on my watch. Anti Aristocracy is historically far more liberal than blind support for Hillary simply because she is a the wife of Bill Clinton. If you honestly believe the woman could have achieved her level of power on her own merit, explain to me why she was THE ONLY FEMALE in the democratic primary. There are females with great potential and skill far FAR FAR more worthy of the presidency than Hillary ever was.
There are numerous females that have been elected to senate and governorships without having famous husbands, of whom their qualifications were never in question. There are numerous women who I would vote for for president in a heartbeat, but I WILL SUFFER NO KING OR QUEEN TO RULE THIS LAND.
I’m for universal health care. That makes me liberal.
I’m for joining the ICC and having every member of PNAC brought up on charges for war crimes. That makes me liberal.
I believe that government is part of the solution, not part of the problem. That makes me liberal.
I think that people who have empathy for their fellow man (ie a ‘bleeding heart’) cannot, by definition be conservative, since at its heart most conservative strategies seem to involve letting Children starve to death in Darwinian social evolution. That makes me a liberal.
I believe in total separation of church and state. That makes me a liberal.
I believe that corporations should not be allowed the same rights as human beings, that makes me a liberal.
And finally Mr. Hamilton, the very point of my name is that Aaron Burr was one of the greatest idiots that this nation ever produced, who killed your namesake, Mr. Hamilton, far before his prime. And let me assure you Mr. Hamilton, the great leader being ‘assasinated’ here is NOT Hillary Roddam “Hopeslayer” Clinton.
It is Barack Obama. And if you didn’t have your head up your butt, you’d see that.
Actually, rushncap, you should just stick to being a wamker. There’s a thing called work that adults often do after they get out of school.
It is interesting at this point though. It looks like it’s virtually impossible to get a Democrat nominee before the convention. On the Republican side, McCain said he would have all 1,191 delegates that he needed after last night and he’s only a little more than halfway there. That being said McCain can win the nomination before the convention, but Romney and/or Huckabee can’t.
I can’t think of a more fitting punishment for both parties than ending up with brokered conventions.
WSFW, Daniel Pearl was a PRISONER of our enemy, the same enemy whose leader we waterboarded to get into this discussion. Why you make the distinction of whether he was a soldier or a journalist is beyond me. Do you not believe they would have done the same thing to one of our soldiers? Does the fact he wasn’t a soldier excuse the fact they cut his head off for you? I don’t get that.
There is a simple fact here you just don’t seem to be able to get through your heads. What YOU say about waterboarding as you sit here today is not relevant. It was a legal and recognized method of getting information from a prisoner at the time it was done. Period. I notice all the talk of Pelosi approving of it has dissapeared, btw. Why is that?
You do realize our soldiers are putting bullets in the enemy too don’t you? When are you going to outlaw that too and make them just talk to the enemy really sternly (but in a quite voice, of course, wouldn’t want loud noises keeping the awake or anything).
Please, WSFW, just go on over to Iraq and surrender and get it over with. I’m sure they’ll accept you with open arms (and a machette).
ITN, kudos on the 8:09.
Yesterday was but another great day in more to come that get us slowly back on the road to reason and sanity in government!
Much as I expected, last night’s results unequivocally confirm that the majority of this nation is completely fed up/disgusted with this phony GOP conservatism. The more “conservative” a candidate is, the more he is now likely to get hammered in every area of the nation except in the most intransigent and backwards, like the Deep South, WV, Utah, etc.
This repudiation of the Republican neo-con agenda also spells the likely end of these less than quaint notions as viable instruments of governmental policy:
Man-induced global warming and increased CO2 emissions is a liberal hoax designed in part to bankrupt America
Mandating/legislating morality by cozying up to the likes of Falwell, Robertson, Dobson, etc is in the nation’s best social interests
Gay bashing and polluting the US Constitution with idiotic marriage amendments is this century’s equivalent of the Bill of Rights
Cooking the books to justify regime change and unprovoked/rogue first strike militarism is in the United States’ best foreign policy interests
Being a corporate w******* and making back room deals with your buddies in Big Oil, Big Pharma, etc is good for middle class Americans
Trying to deport 20 million people lock, stock and barrel represents the best of American’s values
Pedophilia is cool
Yep, this awful and failed grand experiment foisted upon the foolish by Reagan/Gingrich/Bush is almost at an end.
And I say amen, brother!
First, we did not torture anyone. At the time the procedure was used it WAS NOT CONSIDERED TORTURE by US law. What about that is so hard for you to get? Or do you just want to keep ignoring that FACT?
Second, if they didn’t get anything out of people by using waterboarding, why would they bother doing it? I know you have a low opinion of our troops, but do you really think they would go to the effort of all that knowing it never works? Why not just stare at them real hard if neither works and save the effort?
Was the invading the country comment related to waterboarding somehow or were you just looking for another cheap shot at W?
Do you simply disregard opinion of those who have actually fought in wars simply because they do not agree with your own?
and
Have you ever heard of the Geneva Convention?
Outwitting an enemy with intelligence is far better than beating them to a pulp. We’ve stopped many terrorist attacks with intelligence as opposed to torture which we’ve only used a handful of times, unless you count Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, which of course, has given us the image around the world not too much better than those of the terrorists.
RB,
If waterboarding isn’t torture, Why did the US put japanese on trial and convict them after world war 2 for war crimes charges.
You are beating a dead horse here, waterboarding is illegal, the attorney general is being intentionally vague about the definition. The reason why is that if the AG says waterboarding is not torture, to begin with he will be laughed at and it would violate the geneva conventions, also the military would come out against it. If the AG defines waterboarding as torture, he would be legally bound to prosecute the president of the united states, along with every person down the line with knowledge of that practice. Instead, Mukasey will not make a ruling so he can avoid the problem.
It is illegal, always has been.
Huckabee did really well in south Georgia and the mountain area. While they’re both socially conservative areas they’re also areas where you see lot’s of FairTax yard signs. It didn’t hurt that Boortz came out and endorsed him either.
I did think it was a little bizarre that he said it was now a two man race and he was one of the two since he’s third in delegates by a pretty good margin.
Well, just today, first time out, guess what? That thing I posted at 4:20, the one that managed to get the FBI and the Swift Boat traitors in the same paragraph? Not. Turns out the guy in question hasn’t been found responsible for any wrongdoing and had nothing to do with the Swifties, but only worked for a company that might as well have repaired their copy machines that’s how much it had to do with their smear campaign. This whole tangled state reeks day and night of the acrid stench of burning flesh and FBI files. A place where they disappear you by getting you a job in the State Capitol, where the “neices” are as comely as the wild boars who sometimes run through the streets of Little Rock rattling the windows with their vicious wailing hatred for the place until they settle in for an evening’s unnatural relations with the Governor or Chief Justice or a pert-bottomed drug lord looking for a quick turnover.
