Look at these dimwit liberals, is the real story here one of abandoned pets?
Do we not see the larger crime or does the AJC condone trashing a foreclosed house, the exact sort of childish outburst that the racist liberals seem to enjoy?

What kind of person would a) commit a felony property damage to his own monetary interests, b) thereby increasing the amount of money that they will owe creditors?

It’s interesting the Florida Republican primary was won by Senator John McCain who opposed Mr. Bush’s Tax cuts for the highest income earners in the nation.
“in a floor statement during the Senate debate on the 2001 tax cut bill, McCain did not mention the absence of offsetting spending cuts; rather, he stated, “I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us, at the expense of middle class Americans who most need tax relief.”
There are real fiscally conservative Republicans left.
It’s also interesting the winner does not want to see Roe V. Wade overturned.
McCain is certainly the best candidate the GOP has. But he IS beatable.
And the right wing noise machine will help.
Michelle Malkin: “Well. We hear what he says now. But we know what he has done for years: Insult the base, trash the base, and pay lip service to the base only when it suits his needs…..
Laura Ingraham: “The problem with McCain goes deeper than what he says about taxes and what he says today about immigration that contradicts what he said days or weeks ago. It’s about the battles McCain chooses to fight and the enemies he chooses to make. McCain consistently chooses the wrong battles and makes enemies out of the very people he now expects to carry him to the White House”
Rush Limbaugh: “it’s going to destroy the Republican Party.”
Hugh Hewitt: “Sen. McCain is a great American, a lousy senator and a terrible Republican. He has a legislative record that is not conservative. In fact, it is anti-conservative.”
Rick Santorum: McCain will not get the base of the Republican Party. I mean, there was a reason John McCain collapsed last year, and it’s because he was the frontrunner, and everybody in the Republican Party got a chance to look at him. And when they looked at him, they wait well, wait a minute, he’s not with us on almost all of the core issues of…on the economic side, he was against the President’s tax cuts, he was bad on immigration. On the environment, he’s absolutely terrible. He buys into the complete left wing environmentalist movement in this country. He is for bigger government on a whole laundry list of issues. He was…I mean, on medical care, I mean, he was for re-importation of drugs. I mean, you can go on down the list. I mean, this is a guy who on a lot of the core economic issues, is n

This is from boston.com and puts the remark in context:
McCain conceded yesterday that he had made such a remark.
“It was in the context of a conversation on my qualifications to serve: that I am proud of my record as chairman of the commerce committee, of being involved in every single major issue that affects this country,” he said.
In fact, on numerous occasions over the course of the campaign, McCain has volunteered that he is unsatisfied with his lack of knowledge about aspects of economics.
“I’m going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated,” McCain told the Wall Street Journal in late November.
In December he said, “The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should,” as the Globe reported on its “Political Intelligence” blog at the time.
On at least one occasion, McCain has raised the matter himself. On Nov. 10, while traveling through New Hampshire on his Straight Talk Express bus, McCain was asked what he would seek in a vice presidential candidate if nominated.
After mentioning the ability of a potential running mate to replace the president, McCain said, “You also look for people who maybe have talents you don’t, or experience or knowledge you don’t, as well.”
“What are those qualities that you don’t - that you wouldn’t mind complementing?” asked David Brooks, a columnist for The New York Times.
McCain paused. “Uh, maybe I shouldn’t say this, but, somebody who’s really well grounded in economics,” he said.
“I think I understand the fundamentals, I talk to people all the time on economics - it’s obviously a vital part of America’s future,” McCain continued. “But I know there are some people who have literally immersed themselves on issues of economics, how Congress works on it, the tax code, that sort of thing. I would look for that kind of talent not in a vice president but in close advisers.”
“They are complicated,” McCain said of economic issues, “and I freely admit I am not an economist.”

What a pathetic cartoon. I’ve read all kinds of partisan attacks on Bush’s speech and the notion that he was just going through the motions is unique to Luckovich. I guess he just decided to make up some stupid attack instead of doing a single cartoon about the racial hatred in the Democratic race. That’s what makes Mike a partisan and that’s why he is boring and tedious.
What will Mikey doodle if a Democrat wins the White House? He stopped commenting on Congress the second the Democrats took control. We can assume that he is too mindlessly partisan to ever comment on a Democrat candidate. God knows we haven’t seen a criticism of a Democrat at the city level since super-crook Democrat Bill Campbell. I guess he will just have to be content on bashing Georgia state officials, assuming they stay Republican. If that changes, Mikey will limit his attacks to his peers like O’Reilly.
Too bad Mikey’s mindless partisanship makes him so limited and boring. Then again, it doesn’t take much make this liberal echo chamber happy. Goldie applauds like a trained seal to any attack on a conservative, regardless of how stupid it is.

My gut feeling is that it’ll be Clinton and McCain in Georgia, but a lot of things come onto play in the next few days.
If there is a crossover movement of moderates to vote for Obama and a conservative backlash over the dishonest smear tactics McCain used in Florida those two things would add up to Obama and Romney winning.

He lied about shaking her hand and Clinton took the high road and said she looks forward to showing unity and shake his hand.
After super Tuesday she will have a huge delegate lead and the DNC said they could petition to seat the delegates in Michigan and Florida.
It will be Clinton vs McInsane with Clinton crushing the little more war monger. He will lose on every single issue.

Couple things about florida.
First, 1.68 mil votes cast for dems, 1.92 cast for republicans.
Dems had no delagates at stake, only one ballot issue, and no active dem campaigning and got 1.68 million votes. GOP has been hitting the airwaves constantly, strong get out the vote measures, and was the big contest before super tuesday, they should have blown away the dems in the amount of votes.
2nd, 2 things about hillary’s win. Florida is a closed primary state, so no independents can vote, in my county they make up 23% of registered voters. Democrats here tend to be disciplined in following the party line, and early on that was for clinton. the other thing is that many of these votes were cast way back in december and early january.
I have a feeling that with proportional voting, barack and hillary are going to be tied after feb 5th, but with edwards out, Barak has more to gain than hillary.

The ballot intiative was a complex state constitutional admendment that slightly lowers property taxes. It passed by 70%, it helps longtime florida residents who move into different homes within the state. It was pushed by the governor, a good thing in general, but more of a republican draw than a dem one.
I wonder if michigan had any ballot initiatives when they voted.
I mean, come on, when you know your delagates are not going to count and you still go out to vote, that is a sign.
Either way, as long as romney gets pushed out, and the race is between McCain and either dem nominee, I think it will be a positive change for the country.

The Republicans also punished Florida for moving up the date by cutting the delegate count in half. It is kind of ridiculous to get a nominee in February and then not actually nominate them until August. Hopefully some sanity will return to this process in 2012.
Oddly the way the Democrats use proportional distribution of delegates there is less of a difference to them than there is to McCain since the Republican side was winner take all.

Don’t bother replying. I’m not going to bother engaging someone as shallow as you in any meaningful discussion. To do so would be completely pointleess.
The issue of the primaries is nobody wants to be the last primary because at that point most of the also rans have dropped out and your states primary becomes a waste of time and money. States keep trying to move theirs forward so they’ll matter. Candidates will come, they’ll get great photo ops, a few autographed 8x10’s, rub some elbows, etc. It the “one upmanship” of moving these things forward continues, we’ll be starting the ‘12 election cycle in Jan ‘09. Edwards Fundraiser Is Now Backing Obama!
By Jennifer Siegel Wed. Jan 30, 2008 Article tools
Hours after former Senator John Edwards announced his exit from the presidential race, one of his most prominent Jewish fundraisers is backing Senator Barack Obama, the Forward has exclusively learned.
Speaking this morning, Fort Lauderdale lawyer Mitchell Berger said the decision had been an easy one.
“They are the two candidates who represent real change,” Berger said. “I will be supporting Barack Obama.”
In 2004, Berger was the national finance co-chairman of Senator Joseph Lieberman’s failed presidential bid. He said that he has heard from a number of fellow Edwards supporters by phone and email today and, after reeling off a half-dozen names of fellow donors who had joined the Obama campaign, predicted the “vast majority” of Edwards’s supporters would follow suit.
In an earlier conversation with the Forward, Berger said that his relationship remains cordial with Lieberman, who since the 2004 race has been reborn as an Independent, and is now backing Republican John McCain in the presidential contest.
Earlier this month, while Lieberman was in Florida stumping for McCain, he took time out to visit Berger.
“We shared a conversation, and I told him that I disagreed with what he did,” Berger told the Forward. “But we are 20-odd-year friends, and after all these years, Senator Lieberman has stood for good things on all these other issues.”

Who is it that seems to be obsessed with Larry Craig? That would be the left, correct? I thought you all thought his behavior was “normal” so why do you keep bashing him?
I also assume you support the ACLU’s defense of public bathroom stall sex, correct? Surely you aren’t a hypocrit who throws rocks at Christains for disagreeing with that behaviour, yet doesn’t defend someones right to have whatever kind of sex they want to in the stall next to your 5 year old child do you? I mean, if they both agree to it, so what if you’re 5 year old has to listen in while he “goes potty”. You can always just tell him its normal and encourage him to do the same with his friends, and his sister, uncle Jimmy, and the family pets. You agree with all those too, right? Sick liberals…

Let’s face it liberals, your idea of an acceptable Christian is the Clinton variety Christian who may go to church once or twice a year except during campaign season and never speaks of Jesus or God outside of the Church walls. Everybody else, those who attempt to maintain some moral foundation in this country, are what you call “evangelicals”. As long as we all sit in the corner, keep our mouths shut and allow you to do whatever the heck you want to do and never cast a vote against it, you’ll be happy. I’ve got some bad news for you. Bosch,
I don’t mean to be picky buddy but evangelicals aren’t defined as the preachers we don’t like.
Typically, within church culture, evangelicals are viewed as the churches or preachers that are conservative in their doctrine,i.e…”traditional” old school worship and beliefs. As oppose to someone like Creflo Dollar or Oral Roberts who interpret the bible to encourage more “modern” beliefs,i.e.. prosperity, divine healing, etc. Their usually referred to as charasmatic.
Just thought I could help.

RB;
What about the Klan? Werent they on a crusade also? What i am saying is that if you want to worship fine, but dont bring it in the political ring. I will give you an example, before Sept 11th, 2 girls from a church in Waco were taken hostage by the Taliban for trying to convert muslims to Christianity. When they returned they were treated like heros. So what would happen if a group from India arrived and decided to convert your neighborhood to their religion? They would be run out on a rail, but for some reasons Christians think they can go to any country and their religion be damned because if you arent a Christian you are worth spit…

Elizabeth Moynihan Endorses Obama
Moynihan’s Widow Endorses Obama
By Sam Roberts new york
Elizabeth B. Moynihan, the widow of Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who shepherded Hillary Rodham Clinton as his successor in the United States Senate, has endorsed Barack Obama, Mrs. Clinton’s chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.
In a statement she sent to the Obama campaign, Mrs. Moynihan said her husband, who died in 2003, “loved the Senate and would have been unhappy when close Senate friends he respected were competing for the nomination, as is Hillary Clinton, who succeeded him and has become a very good Senator.”
Mrs. Moynihan added:
I know he would have become excited, as I have, to see Barack Obama rekindle hope in our young as he encourages them to participate in the political process, and I know Pat would approve, applaud and encourage me to join Caroline Kennedy in supporting Barack Obama’s candidacy for the Democratic nomination for president of the United States.
Mrs. Moynihan said she was inspired by an Op-Ed piece by Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, published on Sunday in The New York Times, and was also dismayed by the hostility Bill and Hillary Clinton have shown recently to Mr. Obama’s candidacy.
Mrs. Moynihan said she has never met Mr. Obama, but has followed his career, speeches and his performance in the presidential debates. She has never been particularly fond of Mrs. Clinton, according to recent biographies written about both the Moynihans and the Clintons.

RB — you may stop double-posting. You don’t start making twice as much sense, unfortunately.
We’re “obsessed” with Larry Craig because of his hypocrisy, not his sex. I still don’t understand — is the term “hypocrite” just not in your vocabulary?? It’s hypocritical to bash gays for political (and personal) gain, then turn around and have gay sex. It’s hypocritical to use “family values” for personal and political gain, then turn around and have mistresses. Is there a catch in your guys’ brains that does not allow you to see this simple problem? I could not care less who Craig has sex with or where, but I care a great deal if a politician says one thing and does the exact opposite. Now that he’s a private citizen, Craig can go have oral sex with horses for all I care.

Have you really not noticed all of the non Christian churches in this country? There are mosques in every city, you’ll find Buddist temples, pretty much everything. You don’t think the people in those places are reaching out to people around it and drawing them into their religion? What happens when the people from India knock on the door is the Christians inside say, “no thank you” vs. taking them hostage and cutting their heads off. Dimwit. Maybe the difference is, in this country, you don’t get the death penalty for sharing your faith with your neighbor like they do in all those places where they practice all those religions you welcome with open arms.
As I said before, in your simpleton little world, Christianity is the root of all that’s bad. Just admit you hate Christians and move on.

I also notice that in a majority of the cities in this country there are problems in the african american neighborhoods, yet i have yet to see a white evangelical taking his flock down there to try and combat crime, or help them get jobs. If they were as diligent about helping people in their own cities instead of raging against abortion all the time then we would have a better country. Andy,
You were saying something about the stock market and the rate cut earlier.
Way to go buddy, following your advice will make many billionaires into millionaires.
a 37 point fall after dropping a half is a problem. The big problem is that investors are slowly starting to realize that there just isn’t enough money out there to cover the default. Banks work on a 10-1 ratio system, meaning if they have 100k in deposits, they can write out 1 million in loans and take the difference out in bond and credit. Never been a problem until defaults started climbing, and the assets aren’t there to cover the debt. All about the housing, they will kill the dollar to save the banks, but inflation is not happening fast enough. the bond insurers are the ones getting hit now, they do not have the assets to cover the financial loses they insured, no one expected it to get this big.
Huge problems, bury some gold in the backyard, get a shotgun and some canned food. it is going to be a mess out there.

I’m fully aware of what a hypocrit is, rushncap, and I would fully support throwing Craig out of office, not for what he did, but for the specatcle he’s become. His actions don’t reflect the values of the party. However, I’m sick of the double standard. When William (90K in the freezer) Jefferson, Robert KKK Byrd, and Teddy (called my lawer before the police) Kennedy, Ray (Chocolate city) Nagin, et all get thrown out by your party, I’ll listen to your complaints about Craig. Trent Lott was forced to step down, Foley was tossed, but your garbage is still there. I’m tired of it.
And btw, the comments I’ve seen on here about Craig have not been about him being hypocritical, they’ve been about “wide stance”, “toe tapping”, etc, referencing him being gay. If you want to fault him for being a hypocrit, fine, I agree, but the gay comments make you a hypocrit.

When you Christophobes deploy the word Christofascist for shock effect, bear in mind that when you cross into the old tacky territory of Nazi metaphors, you’re not supposed to come off as a Brownshirt. Denouncing certain persons as animals both pestilent and deadly—-you know, that sort of thing. Bad form.
And by the way, wouldn’t it be a mite dangerous for Mr. Craig to submit to a horse for oral sex?
Oh, and this business of defending the Taliban from American proselytes, and resenting their homecoming after their deliverance from captivity, rape and death? Tough luck. This country privileges religious freedom, most especially the freedom to practice one’s religion, whether it be an evangelical one or not. It’s a cornerstone of the Republic and always will be. The country is at its best when it works to spread that freedom throughout the globe.
We were at our best when we Atlantans from across the political spectrum welcomed the Dalai Lama, the world leader of religious tolerance and ecumenism, to Emory, and there listened to him with great respect. Atheists are now moving to demand greater respect in this country and we should insist upon that equally.
Excuse me if this comes off as pontificating, but I happen to dig this country and my people came here a very long time ago, to this very state, after two generations of being hunted for their religious views. Their descendents fought, repeatedly, for these rights we enjoy, and I for one enjoy the hell out of them.

Because he made a “chocolate city” comment? OK, if that’s one of the 4 worst Democrats out there, this party is a lot cleaner than I thought.
P.S. References to “wide stance” etc are humorous. It’s called sense of humor. Look it up. Just like we joke about cigars and Bill Clinton, though none of us think he should have been persecuted for that. Do you see anyone attacking gay Republicans just for being gay? Jan 30, 2008 5:26 PM NY Post Endorses Obama!
POST ENDORSES BARACK OBAMA January 30, 2008 — Democrats in 22 states across America go to the polls next Tuesday to pick between two presidential prospects: Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
We urge them to choose Obama - an untried candidate, to be sure, but preferable to the junior senator from New York.
Obama represents a fresh start.
His opponent, and her husband, stand for déjà vu all over again - a return to the opportunistic, scandal-scarred, morally muddled years of the almost infinitely self-indulgent Clinton co-presidency.
Does America really want to go through all that once again?
It will - if Sen. Clinton becomes president.
That much has become painfully apparent.
Bill Clinton’s thuggishly self-centered campaign antics conjure so many bad, sad memories that it’s hard to know where to begin.
Suffice it to say that his Peck’s-Bad-Boy smirk - the Clinton trademark - wore thin a very long time ago.
Far more to the point, Sen. Clinton could have reined him in at any time. But she chose not to - which tells the nation all it needs to know about what a Clinton II presidency would be like.
Now, Obama is not without flaws.
For all his charisma and his eloquence, the rookie senator sorely lacks seasoning: Regarding national security, his worldview is beyond naive; America must defend itself against those sworn to destroy the nation.
His all-things-to-all-people approach to complicated domestic issues also arouses scant confidence. “Change!” for the sake of change does not a credible campaign platform make. But he remains a highly intelligent man, with a strong record as a conciliator.
And, again, he is not Team Clinton.
That counts for a very great deal.
A return to Sen. Clinton’s cattle-futures deal, Travelgate, Whitewater, Filegate, the Lincoln Bedroom Fire Sale, Pardongate - and the inevitable replay of the Monica Mess?
No, thank you.
And don’t forget the Clintons’ trademark political cynicism. How else to explain Sen. Clinton’s oft-contradictory policy stands: She voted for the war in Iraq, but now says it was a bad idea. She’d end it yesterday - but refuses to say how.
It’s called “triangulation” - the Clintonian tactic by which the ends are played against the midd

Jan 30, 2008 5:40 PM Alma Rangel (Yes, Charlie’s wife) Supports Obama
At least someone in their household has good common sense! Thank You Mrs. Rangel!
On Michelle Obama’s Guest List: Alma Rangel
By Sewell Chan new york
Updated, 5:10 p.m. | Michelle Obama spoke this afternoon at a fund-raising lunch on the Upper East Side for her husband’s presidential campaign, and one of the more prominent people present was Alma Rangel, the wife of Representative Charles B. Rangel, according to a person familiar with the guest list for the event. Mr. Rangel has been a leading supporter of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, so his wife’s attendance at a fund-raiser for Senator Barack Obama, Mrs. Clinton’s chief rival, seems noteworthy.
Other guests at the Obama fund-raiser included Victoria Kennedy, the wife of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the powerful Massachusetts Democrat who endorsed Mr. Obama on Monday; John W. Rogers Jr., a Chicago mutual fund executive who has been one of Mr. Obama’s top fund-raisers; Valerie Jarrett, a political fund-raiser and family friend of the Obamas; Andrea E. Bernstein, the wife of Tom A. Bernstein, the president and founder of Chelsea Piers; Susan Solomon, the wife of Peter J. Solomon, the founder and chairman of an investment banking firm that bears his name; and Patricia Blanchet, a Haitian-born artist and the widow of the “60 Minutes” correspondent Ed Bradley, who died in 2006.
Guests were asked to contribute up to $2,300 for Mr. Obama’s campaign. The fund-raiser was held at the home of Peter and Patricia Findlay, who run the Findlay Gallery, which specializes in 19th and 20th century European art.
Mr. Rangel, elected in 1970, is the dean of Harlem politics and the powerful chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. He has urged other local politicians to support Mrs. Clinton, the junior senator from New York, no matter what happens. To be sure, spouses often support different candidates. But this is not the first time members of the Rangel family have expressed fondness for Mr. Obama.
Last January, Mr. Rangel told reporters that he had urged Mr. Obama to pursue the presidency. “I told him if he didn’t run, he’d regret it, and that he’s a young man and he ought to test the waters,” Mr. Rangel told The New York Times at the time.
Elbert Garcia, Mr. Rangel’s press secretary in New York, said in a brief phone interview that he was not aware of Mrs. Rangel’s

And, of course, you’re lying again (you suck at that too): I never attacked Christianity. Oh well…

You can get free articles by signing up at stratfor.com. Highly recommended. Can take a while to get used to the style, or who the subjects are - but it’ll be well worth your time. Good for critical thinking skills, seeing interrelationships and a strategic (grand scheme) view of things.

Losing was good the first day. Lull them into a false sense of accomplishment. Now invite them on your run. Keep pace with’em and breathe hard. Then the last 440 blow their doors off. Keeps’em humble.

Barack Farrahkan Obama?
But it’s not just that he employed these individuals in positions of power in his office, it’s that when the former associate raised objections, he says Mr. Obama’s position was that he saw nothing wrong with the Nation of Islam and didn’t think it was a problem. If true—and the fact that Ms. Mason still holds her prominent Obama Senate staff position bears that out—Obama’s condemnation of Farrakhan, this month, is phony.

BTW, dimwit, my church’s youth group spent the 3 day MLK weekend in downtown atlanta doing sevice projects. I guess that didn’t make the moveon.org headlines did it?
You have absolutely no clue what’s going on in churches in this country beyond what you see in the headlines of media outlets that hate Christians as much as you do. Maybe you should stop in some time and see whats really going on there before you keep throwing rocks at Christians.

Why conceded that those people were Christians or acting in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ? Book burning? (Or was it flag burning?) How many professed “Christians” have murdered abortionists? That’s ludicrous! And when did McWhatsisname ever say he blew up Murra for the Nazarene? What sophomoric nonsense these young wack jobs come on here to have us validate!

Can one predict, in other but general terms, what patterns will be left in the tide by a receding tide? A piece of driftwood, a strand of kelp, washing up on the last surge changes the pattern.
Safe to predict? Only with a number of hedges and what-ifs. For so long there were so few one could view in the Democratic Party as contenders with a chance that the idea of Hillary was, to many, a forgone conclusion. Even then she continued to amass money and a formidable organization.
But one can’t play taxi for all the voters in all the primaries, as happened in NH. I do think her emphasis on criticizing anything Bush let people know what she didn’t like - but gave no clear indication of what she would be. Then along comes Obama - as with Hillary, rather short on some specifics, not unusual at this stage, but with an uplifting message. Or when there was criticism, with an insirational ending.
I think many Americans were tired of what they saw as dreariness under Carter. That was one of Reagan’s strengths - he appealed to the ideals of the American people. So now we have an environment where people, rightly or wrongly, feel a similar discontent. One of the main drummers of discontent has been Hillary - by that I mean much of the attack, speeches, interviews have focused on everything that is wrong. And has been. Unfortunately, many people can go back further than eight years and remember more turmoil.
Then comes a positive, inspirational message delivered by someone who in a very real sense epitomizes the American ideal of working towards a dream and succeeding. Momentum is a marvelous force. Normal waves are contained by the breakwater. But when the current builds and the waves crest higher and higher the once-strong breakwater is no longer adequate.
Will he succeed? There is still much to overcome. There are many who identify with Hillary’s gender, with her life-long involvement, with her survivor skills. There are also those who supported her as they saw her as the best chance to regain the White House.
Now it doesn’t seem as if she’s the only chance.

I have a job that allows me to make a difference in children’s lives.
I have a husband whom I adore and he likewise.

Some Florida exit poll information shows some interesting things. How hard was it for someone to change their registration in Florida? The rules say you must be reistered to vote 29 days before an election, but it’s not clear what the deadline is on changing your registration. No wonder the libs are dancing around declaring the game over.

Romney won the mainstream religious. (Huckabee won the very religious—less than one-fifth of the pool.)

Romney is the primary second choice of Giuliani voters, Thompson voters … and McCain voters.

Romney won the terrorism-oriented voters.
Romney won the self-identified conservatives and the self-identified very conservative.
Romney won the values-oriented voters.
Romney won the white voters.

And I’m sure you’ll frame those statistics and cry yourself to sleep with them under your pillow for the next 4 years of a Democratic President.
