Go ahead and yuck it up and take your pot shots at the RIGHT now, LuckoVICK and the Ache-J-C! Come November either Hitlery Rottenham KKKlinton or Borat Saddam Hussein Osama is gonna get soundly defeated by the common sense of the American People.
BaROT Hussein Osama what kind of muslim crap is that for a name? I’m sure that BaROT’s personal life story and image are just as “All-American” as his name implies. The American people will NEVER elect a power-hungry femminazi nag (Hitlery ROTham KKKlinton) or a muslim islamafacist black militant extremist (BaROT Saddam Hussein Osama) as President of anything except the immates activities committee in Federal Prison where both Ms.KKKlinton and Mr. HUSSEIN-OSAMA both belong on charges of TREASON, GRAFT and TAX EVASION. No way these two traitors get anywhere within a hundred miles of the White House in the General Election!

{{{{But this was more than just a decision to support Obama. In doing so, Kennedy consciously decided not to stay neutral in this most fiercely contested battle for the Democratic nomination. Instead, he chose to enter the fight against Ku Klux Rodham and Bill Klinton}}}}

{{{{Yet her most ruthless stab is reserved for Bill KKKlinton himself, nominally not the candidate but merely an enthusiastic spouse. Caroline’s Kennedy’s last paragraph gives Bill the coup de grace: “I never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them. But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president — not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans.”}}}}

{{{{One has to wonder if it isn’t already too late and if the Clintons haven’t already crossed some line and lost the support of the same people they will need in November, should Hillary Clinton become the Democratic nominee. In fact, Obama has begun telling audiences that, while he is confident he can bring the Democratic Party together if he is the nominee, he is not sure Hillary Clinton can do the same if she wins the nomination.}}}}

Bwa.

~~~~~
{{{{Seems the KKKlintons have been clandestinely working Florida, so that, after the South Carolina setback, they can get big headlines by winning the largest state yet to vote. This could instantly cancel out Barack’s momentum from South Carolina and create KKKlinton momentum for the seven days before Super Tuesday.}}}}
Or they could be routed by that Un Committed guy.
~~~~~

{{{{What is curious is that Sen. McCain would consider the Treason Times endorsement of value to him in a GOP primary fight. The Arizonan has yet to win a plurality of Republican voters in any primary or caucus. (Independents put him over the top in New Hampshire and South Carolina.) In Florida, and in most of the primaries to come, only Republicans will be permitted to vote. Reminding suspicious conservatives that he’s the favorite Republican of limousine liberals doesn’t seem to me to be the best way for Sen. McCain to win them over.}}}}

MadasZell, you have deep, deep issues. You and I live in completely different Americas. I guess you think the first amendment should be repealed.

You’re either highly racist, or highly stupid. I lean towards both.

I guess it’s easy to become upset when your president and party are such losers.

You liberal idiots are just jealous that when all is said and done George W. Bush will go down as one of the greatest Presidents in American History for his willingness to take the fight to a savage and brutal enemy who was hellbent on our elimination. When the Islamafacists (you know, Hitlery and BaROT’s people) attacked the U.S. on 9/11 they were expecting the same liberal pacifist response that they got to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which was…oh yeah, absolutely nothing! I forgot how much Bill KKKlintoon was up on his game in his response to the first WTC bombing. Boy Sick Willie really showed them, didn’t he? Klintoon really taught that Osama bin Laden a lesson in ‘93 and then he kicked some al-Qadea a* again in ‘98 with the failed missile attack on bin Laden’s training camps in Afghanistan, which had been long abandoned. Then after 9/11, Sick Willie had the gall to go on a totally unbiased and objective shows like Oprah and CNN (Clinton News Network) and brag about how he “just missed killing bin Laden” with his half-a*ed missle attacked on one of bin Laden’s abandoned camps.

Real committment to a strong national defense by Billy Boy there, huh?

{{{{{Evans’ vindication of McCarthy was made possible by recently released files, such as the Venona papers (the secret messages between Moscow and its U.S. agents decrypted by our government and released in 1995), data from Soviet archives, and executive-session transcripts of Senate committees that were finally opened after a 50-year ban. Evans’ book is copiously documented and reproduces some critical pages from never-before-released files.}}}}}

So M. Stanton Evans pours through documentation not previously available to anyone and finds that it largely exonerates Joe McCarthy. [[Tretyakov directed spy operations in New York and at the United Nations; he says his agents helped the Russian government steal nearly $500 million from the Unitede Nation’s oil-for-food program in Iraq before the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003. He names some names, but sticks mainly to code names. The Washington Post marks that the book also gives quirky insights into how Russian spies operated in New York — for example the pay phones at Bloomingdale’s department store were favored for calling contacts without being bugged. Among the most alarming stories is a claim by a Russian businessman visiting Ottawa in the early 1990s that he kept a nuclear bomb in a shed at his dacha outside Moscow, though Tretyakov says he does not know if it was true. Russian intelligence had tricked and manipulated Strobe Talbott, the deputy secretary of state under President Clinton. “He became an extremely valuable intelligence source.” Georgi Mamedov, the Russian deputy foreign minister, was “a longtime co-optee” of the SVR, who met often with Talbott and who “was reporting everything that was said or done by Mr. Talbott directly to us at the Center.” Tretyakov is careful to add that Talbott “was not a Russian spy.”]]

[[Tretyakov also accuses Eldar Kouliev, Azerbaijan’s representative to the United Nations in the 1990s, of being “a deep-cover SVR intelligence officer.” And former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Earley notes, “frequently met with Kouliev.” And no doubt with Strobe Talbott.]]

Hey, we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Bush is about out of here and good riddance to the collective insanity of the neo-cons. Perhaps America is over its flirtation with turning back to clock to the 1800s (or earlier).

My tears of joy suddenly turned to sadness last night as I realized Prophident Bush’s speech would be his last State of the Union.

What a great gift America has been given. This man, so close to God, has led this nation to glory.

My heart grows weary as I think to the future. What will become of this mighty nation without its Prophident?

I’m suddenly very frightened. As are my friends Luke-oduh and Mad at Hell. Have we been forsaken? Have we been abandoned by God. Will we elect a liberal Demon? Who can even fill Prophident Bush’s shoes? Are we doomed to mushroom clouds? Hurricanes? Bombs exploding everywhere? I’m so scared. Its hard to Pray for Rain right now, it seems so trivial. We are entering a period of liberal darkness. Forgive us.

Don’t leave us Prophident Bush. God Almighty, please don’t let him go. Please God.

Please.

How was McCarthy “exonerated”? Even if there were proven Soviet spies in every branch, office, and department of the government at the time, his actions would still have been wrong.

Look at it this way: A cop shoots an unarmed, fleeing suspect in the back. If it turns out the guy really DID rob a bank, does that suddenly make it okay? Or are the cop’s actions still wrong?

McCarthy was a criminal lunatic; the guilt or innocence of the people he attacked, blacklisted, spied on, and otherwise terrorized is irrelevant.

Outsiders viewing a situation. I suppose their are several interpretations.

I looked at it as Sen Kennedy had just endorsed Sen Obama. Sen Clinton approached Sen Kennedy. There was little privacy to be had in such a setting, the interaction could prove awkward, Sen Clinton obviously had something to say to Sen Kennedy. So Sen Obama turned away so as not to intrude and afford them what privacy could be had.

Some would see it as a bit of class - good manners, if you will.

Which is why some people are drawn to him.

McCarthy was exonerated because the soviets knew we weren’t going to attack them first, and they could be sure because of the spies that McCarthysm itself allowed to infiltrate our corridors of power. This is what saved the world. The paranoid Soviets could rely on their easily placed spies after McCarthy made it so uncool to look for spies.

That’s a fact. World saved. Thank you, McCarthy.

Without McCarthy, we would have certainly annihilated each other in the sixties, no question about it. No question at all. As it was, we came within a CH of doing it anyway.

Regardless of how one feels about Hillary, if she gets the nomination, she stands a good chance to beat the R candidate. Sorry, Obama doesn’t. McCarthy, IRONICALLY, was the greatest american who ever lived. Thanx to him, the soviets need not have nuked us from fear that we would’ve nuked them first. How did the soviets know? Why were they so sure? Because after McCarthy, nobody wanted to look too closely at anyone as a possible soviet communist spy, who informed the kremlin that no preemptive strike was coming.

Nobody looked for spies because it was career suicide to do so, and nobody had the heart after McCarthy self destructed.

I think that the important thing for the Dems to remember is that in order to win the General Election, the Dems have to get more voters voting with the Dems vs. with the Repugs.

Right now, Sen. Obama is the one bringing in new voters to the Dem Party IN RECORD NUMBERS… can Hillary and Bill do the same? Or are the Clintons just going to count on somehow winning over the same ole undecided voters, simply by “fighting hard” against the Repugs— or whatever their unknown winning scheme is — and hoping those undecideds will fall in love with the Clintons? When has that ever happened for the Clintons, and what are the chances that it will happen in November???

Sometimes it’s difficult to express sarcasm with just the written word.

The “liberal press” charges are far from over. I think it’ll continue. I just think it’s funny that now it’s swung in the other direction. Just look at the parodies of Dems on Leno, Letterman, even some of Luckovich’s ‘toons. Pretty soon some will accuse them of being part of the cabal.

Goldie,

First Fred. Now Rudy. Two stories that never were.

But they sure got a lot of air time.

At least Rudy will be memorialized in poli-sci books under the chapter “How Not to Run a Campaign.” Right after Fred’s chapter “First, Wake Up.”

Getalife, I really am going to cry. We need someone who will recognize average USA. Yes, I know there are those who take advantage of the system, but if we have leadership who actually serve the good of the country, instead of the good of themselves, they will ‘weed out’ the riffraf so to speak. There are so many out there who are working two jobs (their job has been outsourced remember) and still can’t make ends meet. We need a president who cares about people!!! Yes!! I’m all for military. getalife,

I simply said I think Obama conducted himself like a gentleman after the State of the Union.

Then I said how it’s amazing that people will dismiss the idea of a liberal media, then when liberal candidates take some heat, suddenly it’s a conservative media.

Baiting? Just an opinion and an observation.

Some people endorse candidates based upon what they stand for or how they inspire. Others endorse based upon who does not ‘like’ them. To each their own.

Goldie,

It’s not just bringing in new members of the Dem party. It’s also tapping people from outside the Party who may just vote for him, putting ideology aside. And if I may, those in that camp, silently reading through blogs such as this, may not be enticed by reading themselves referred to as “Repugs.”

Getalife,

Obama is a much stronger candidate in the general than hillary. Hillary is a 50% +1 type of politician, very much like GWB in strategy if not in her views. Obama is running to unite the nation, he will get a much larger percentage of independents than hillary will. Also if Hillary is elected, there will be huge gains in 2010 in the house and senate for the GOP.

Hillary will bring 4 more years of the same divisiveness than we have had since 92. the republicans will probably draw up impeachment articles before the inaguration, she will not have a minute in office without rankor. Also, I do not want 4 more years of the soap oprea of the clintons. Then there is the idea of a co-presidency, Bill is more respected than Hillary, and always will be. when he speaks, it will carry more weight than when she does. That is no way to run a nation, and when the general comes around, the GOP will hammer that home. She starts with the ability of getting 51% of the vote, and goes down from there.

Obama on the other hand, I think is undervalued when it comes the the general election. The polls are conducted on likely voters, but with obama, that number is a misrepresentation. He will bring in many more voters than hillary can. Obama will get about 95% of the hillary supporters if he gets the nomination. I think hillary will only get about 75% of obama supporters voting for her, I know I don’t think I could cast a vote for her, unless Romney is the GOP candidate.

Just imagine a presidential debate between Obama and McCain. One is eloquant, young, and motivates people, the other is an old man who can barely put two sentences together. Obama wins in a landslide.

ITFS,

I haven’t read Evans’ book yet so I’d be hard pressed to give my take on it. I generally prefer to have the facts before I make a judgment.

The biggest source of confusion is that McCarthy gets blamed for the House Committee on Un-American Activities. As you can see from reading the comments at least two dunderheads have already linked him to that here. (right finch?)

McCarthy was only concerned with Communist infiltration of our government and the Venona papers showed that he was much more on track than off. I look forward to reading this book since it also includes previously secret hearings information.

Unfortunately I’ve got things to do and won’t be back today, even for happy hour. Maybe we can pick this up tomorrow or better yet after we’ve had a chance to read the book.

Look at the long term, can you really see the dems picking up seats in 2010 with the clintons in office?

There is record turnout in the dem primaries, that isn’t because the old dem machine is getting new voters out there, it is because Obama is out there getting younger voters that normally do not participate. Thought I’d get the scoop on the Rezko mess.

From Fact Check:

Q: Does Obama have a real estate problem? Was Obama’s real estate deal in Illinois really an issue? A: A political patron from whom he bought a strip of land is under federal indictment, but there’s no evidence Obama did anything improper. Here’s what happened: In 2005, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, bid $1.65 million for a house on the south side of Chicago. According to newspaper reports, the owner was also trying to sell an undeveloped parcel of land adjacent to the property Obama was buying, and he wanted the sales of the two to close on the same day. Obama has said that he mentioned he was buying the house to a longtime political patron, Antoin (Tony) Rezko, a developer. Rezko’s wife wound up buying the lot adjacent to Obama’s. At the request of the Obamas, who were seeking a bit more space for their yard, she later sold them a 10-foot wide strip, or about one-sixth, of her land. The Obamas paid $104,500 for it, or about one-sixth of what Mrs. Rezko had paid for the entire property.

Obama doesn’t appear to have reaped any financial advantages from the transactions.

Balance here

So he got a discounted price, because he only bought 1/6 of the lot.

MomCat— you’re talking about voters who will not vote for a candidate based on a NAME or the fact that a person’s parent might have been Muslim… BTW, did you choose your own name, or did your parents give you your name? Just curious. Anyway, the Dems are never going to get those voters to vote Democratic, just like there are those voters who will never vote for a woman, no matter what her religion might be.

We’re not trying to get those particular bigoted voters to vote for our Dem candidate… we need voters who are signed up for the Dems BECAUSE THEY WANT TO VOTE FOR OUR CANDIDATE, and so far, that is overwhelmingly Barack Obama and all of the new energized voters that he brings to our Party.

Like I posted before, Hillary is not bringing in the new voters that we need, or else she would’ve done that by now… and McCain and Romney are not doing that, either. Senator Obama is our best chance to win with new voters by a LANDSLIDE.

If you have to get so much info before you’ll get back on board, fine. Go try to learn something about Obama. Anything. I don’t care. Just don’t throw sand in the gears. We’ve got wingnuts to beat.

SNUBBING! EEEEK!

While that is going on Huckabee’s compliance to campaign finance rules is in question, McCain is talking up more wars and has taken Conrad Burns unto him.

EEEEK!

Getalife:

I don’t have a dog in your fight, but you may be glad to hear that NOW is outraged at Kennedy’s endorsement of Obama. They’re calling him a traitor.

The National Association of Nurses has also endorsed Hillary.

Maybe you should join NOW (National Organization of Women.)

Just think of the possibilities.

Oh, and Getalife…

if I recall correctly it was the women’s vote that was said to count most in the general.

But like I said…I’ve got no dog in this fight.

We’ll turn our pitbulls loose in November.

Rudy’s run one of the most civil campaigns thus far. Didn’t break that 11th commandment. Gotta give him his due on that.

NOW deserves the jilting. After all, they’ve been so loyal to Muslim women wherever there’s a U.S. presence or interest in a country where Muslim women are oppressed, and to the girls and women of Afghanistan, and to Christian and Buddhist girls and women in China…

I believe it was the New York Chapter of NOW (state or city?).

1 in 50. Her home state.

She has every right to be as proud of that endorsement as Obama must be of MLK III’s of him.

Funny NY NOW and MLK III didn’ pick one of the GOP candidates?

Goldie January 29, 2008 5:38 PM | “He may be a “Christain Gentleman” but he will not be president!” MomCat— you’re buying into the old 20th century thoughts, just like the Protestants who once said that “a Catholic can never be president” — it’s the same argument

I hope you are right Goldie, but I don’t think so. I don’t believe we can compare Catholics and Muslims. Anyhoo, let’s wait and see. IMHO we have ‘had the green wienie.’

Artie:

You’re confused. Did you think that NOW were compassionate conservatives?

Nope…their yours! Leftist groups have always sought to serve “self” interest.
