{{{{“So much for federalism. So much for states’ rights. So much for individual rights,” said Mr. Thompson, a former Tennessee senator, referring to the Huckabee kkkampaign. “That’s not the model of the Reagan coalition. That’s the model of the Democratic Party.”}}}}
And after all the gutless wonder pinko talk about surrendering to Iran, wasn’t this refreshing to hear?:
{{{{It was an evening of tough talk, particularly about Iran. The candidates said Iran was lucky that it didn’t escalate this week’s confrontation between Iranian gunboats and a U.S. Navy ship any further. “I think one more step, and they would have been introduced to those virgins they’re looking forward to seeing,” Mr. Thompson said.}}}}
~~~~~
The liberals cannot get their freaked out ideas past the voters, so let’s set up a new branch of government, we’ll call it the Pinko Appeasement Department:
{{{{The recipe, a coalition government of national unity, has been tried in other Western democracies with varying degrees of success. In Washington, this would translate into a Cabinet of experts drawn from both parties who would reach across party lines on the most critical areas facing the nation over the next 10 years.}}}}
{{{{William S. Cohen, Bill Brock, John C. Danforth, and Chuck Hagel, the only sitting senator, for the Republicans — agreed on a formula for national salvation.}}}}
RINOs all.
How about if we skip this and the libs promise to use the floor of the Senate as a place to do business for the We The People instead of for the democrat party?
You know, maybe we could stop the whining and the back stabbing of the troops on bills that you know full well are going to pass anyway.
Some of us actually support our soldiers and are sickened by the lib irresponsibility.
What do you say Code Pinko?
~~~~~
{{{{And if we are to believe the new voice will be a softer, more conciliatory and more engaging one, how to square that with what is going on at HillaryIs44.com, a Web site that is for all intents and purposes a back door to her war room? There you will see that federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald will soon “destroy” Barack Obama in a “scandal” involving an “indicted slumlord” who is Mr. Obama’s “friend of 17 years” and with whom Mr.

lockolame… the “Iran encounter” was FAKE! F.A.K.E.! Even The Pentagon has backtracked on their story. Stop wishing for war. Anyone hoping and praying for war does not support the troops. The only people who support the troops are the Democratic Party. They refuse to let the president start another false war.
If there was another war, where do you get the troops from? Do we start a draft next to supply the troops? Where do we get the money from? Do we keep lowering taxes and created an even bigger budget deficit? Do we keep borrowing money from countries like China? Where does it end?
You don’t invest in bombs and bullets. You get nothing in return. Once they have exploded, their value is gone. You invest in your people, as they are the driving force of this country. You get back engineers, teachers, doctors, skilled workers, etc, etc. People that drive OUR economy and make our country a better place.

Love the cartoon. That’s hilarious.
w00t,
I liked your comment, “Stop wishing for war.”
Have you ever known people who aren’t happy in life unless there is chaos, or when you ask them, “How’s your day?” you immediately regret it because they will go on and on about how everything in the world just plainly sucks and you are left just shaking your head, and saying to them “Oh, I’m so sorry.” and “Yeah, I know.”

I’m certainly not wishing for war with Iran, which would be a disaster for us, the Iranians and the world.
That being said, it is pathetic that the liberals on this board are so willing to state for certain that the Pentagon faked the whole thing.
Demonizing Iran is stupid and dangerous, but demonizing America is a sign that liberals hate Bush much, much, much more than they love thier country. It’s easy to understand why so many liberals love Rosie O’Donell.

Yes duh,

Mike,
Making sweeping statements such as:
“it is pathetic that the liberals on this board are so willing to state for certain that the Pentagon faked the whole thing”
and
“demonizing America is a sign that liberals hate Bush much, much, much more than they love thier country”
is a rather ineffective way of creating a dialogue or debating a point? Wouldn’t that be like a liberal saying something to the effect that “all conservatives want to go to war?”
which we both know isn’t true, just like we both know that liberals don’t hate their country?
Sure, some conservatives do think war is the answer, but certainly not ALL conservatives, and yes, many liberals are anti-Bush and are highly critical of him, but criticism of Bush is in no way, shape, form or fashion equal to disloyalty to our country, at least, not in my opinion.
Isn’t that kind of thinking causing a huge polarized gap of idealogues in this country, so much so, that the government is a complete ineffective mess?
I love my three children more than anything on this planet, but I also know they screw up sometimes.

The paranoid part of me says that Bush’s recent rant on Iran is indicative of a military strike against that country and possibly the precurser to the present administration attempting to postpone the upcoming elections based on national security. They tried in 2004 to do just that when they saw Bush’s ratings falling so dramatically. I can only hope that I am wrong. For those who would like a link to a major news story regarding the attempt to postpone the 2004 elections, here is one from CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/07/11/election.day.delay/

I have been tellin’ ya all along that you better not understimate Huck. He is for real. He was likeable. Remember the sax playing. He wasn’t a stiff like his opponent. Neither was Kennedy against Nixon.

My problem with the war in Iraq is simply this; if we are going to war let’s wage war! This pansy *ss waste of time where we send our boys and girls over there just to stand around and be target practice for extremists is ridiculous! Take the Geneva Convention and the Rules of Engagement and burn them in the street! Give our boys back their guns and tell them to march across Iraq and shoot anything that even looks threatening! “Hello people, war is not suppose to be pretty, or fair, or humane; it’s war for God’s sake! Grow up!” Then, put up a big American Flag and announce to all those other trouble makers in the Mid-East that if they don’t want the same to happen to them they’ll keep their terrorist butts at home and not mess with the US. Believe me, that is a clear message that they could understand and respect. And the bonus; our troops would finish the job and most would be home within 6 months.

I guess it is a good thing there weren’t any WMDs in Iraq. If there were, the extremists would have gotten to them and used them against our troops. I just don’t see a way out of Iraq that won’t be a disaster down the road. It’s s shame W’s exit strategy was for Viet Nam, not Iraq.
Note to Hillary: Are you sure you really want this aggravation? I hope you are truly running for love of your country and not the love of power. Surely you and Bill have a comfortable life now, are you sure you want to give it up. If you think campaigning is rough, wait until you are president. Thats a 24/7 job (unless you are W, that is).

I like to hear things like that. Well, not that I’m glad your daughter wrecked the car, but that I’m not alone, and that things turn out okay.
The oldest Boschkin went to the Mistletoe Jam about a month ago, spent the night at a friends house, got up about 7:30, didn’t let the windshield defrost all the way, and ran a stop sign. His girlfriend, who was with him, told him right before the accident to pull over and let the windshield defrost. Sometimes guilt is a good thing. I grew up Southern Baptist, I know about guilt.

For Julie - Are you kidding?? We have no business being in Iraq at all. They had nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11 but we invaded anyway. Just a little bit of reading will educate you on the fact that Bush wanted to invade Iraq from day 1 of his presidency and was looking for a connection. Hey woot, did you see Marion Jones was convicted of lying to congress in the steriod case? How are you coming along with those names of people convicted of lying to congress about the Iraq intel leading up to the war? Got anything yet, or are you just full of crap?
Bosch, see the paragraph above as my response to your post. You seem to complain about blanket statements of conservatives about liberals, but not once have I seen you defend a conservative from the slander posted on this site every day. You want to talk about one sided? Look in the mirror occasionally. You’ve seen me post repeatedly with critisism of Bush and the way he’s handled several things haven’t you? I’m more than happy to have dialog with rational people, but I don’t see many on your side on this blog. You’re an occasional exception, sometimes AmVet, but the rest of this crowd is totally 1 sided. BTW, one of the things I’m unhappy with Bush and the R leadership about is they allow the Harry Reid’s of the world to make the comments they do without a reply. I expect them to stand up for the truth and I don’t see that happening in cases like Reid.

You really ought to change your sources, mon. Kos and ITN aren’t working for you.
The phone companies don’t spy on us; the switching company they all use opened its computers to the NSA’s computers. I’m not sure that the company had any choice in the matter, and evidently neither are the President, the Justice Department nor the Judiciary sure, and that is the reason for the contemplated pardon.

Yep the GOP really cares about keeping weapons out of dictators hands:
The Reagan administration and its special Middle East envoy, Donald Rumsfeld, did little to stop Iraq developing weapons of mass destruction in the 1980s, even though they knew Saddam Hussein was using chemical weapons “almost daily” against Iran, it was reported yesterday. US support for Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq war as a bulwark against Shi’ite militancy has been well known for some time, but using declassified government documents, the Washington Post provided new details yesterday about Mr Rumsfeld’s role, and about the extent of the Reagan administration’s knowledge of the use of chemical weapons.
On November 1 1983, the secretary of state, George Shultz, was passed intelligence reports of “almost daily use of CW [chemical weapons]” by Iraq.
However, 25 days later, Ronald Reagan signed a secret order instructing the administration to do “whatever was necessary and legal” to prevent Iraq losing the war.
In December Mr Rumsfeld, hired by President Reagan to serve as a Middle East troubleshooter, met Saddam Hussein in Baghdad and passed on the US willingness to help his regime and restore full diplomatic relations.
Mr Rumsfeld has said that he “cautioned” the Iraqi leader against using banned weapons. But there was no mention of such a warning in state department notes of the meeting.
Howard Teicher, an Iraq specialist in the Reagan White House, testified in a 1995 affidavit that the then CIA director, William Casey, used a Chilean firm, Cardoen, to send cluster bombs to use against Iran’s “human wave” attacks.
A 1994 congressional inquiry also found that dozens of biological agents, including various strains of anthrax, had been shipped to Iraq by US companies, under licence from the commerce department.
Furthermore, in 1988, the Dow Chemical company sold $1.5m-worth (Ł930,000) of pesticides to Iraq despite suspicions they would be used for chemical warfare.
The only occasion that Iraq’s use of banned weapons seems to have worried the Reagan administration came in 1988, after Lt Col Francona toured the battlefield on the al-Faw peninsula in southern Iraq and reported signs of sarin gas.

Highlights of our leaders Middle East trip:
Diana Buttu, a former spokeswoman and negotiator for the Palestine Liberation Organization, said Bush’s visit produced more talk than action. ‘The real question is, what is he going to be doing?’ she said. ‘It doesn’t seem like he’s doing more than making speeches.’”
Writing in the Israeli Maariv newspaper, columnist Ben Caspit described Bush’s visit as ‘cordial and ceremonial … with a lot of high-sounding talk and very little action’.”
“Critics note Bush has invested nowhere near the same amount of personal time and effort as his predecessor Bill Clinton, arguing he lacks the will and understanding to broker a deal that has eluded generations of American and other diplomats.
“Mr. Bush began his presidency with lofty goals for this region: Iraq would serve as a model for democracy, Iran would be tamed, and a Palestinian state would be created to pave the way for peace. But in his last year in office, Iraq remains unstable and chaotic; Iran has emerged as a regional superpower, and peace between Israel and Palestine is elusive… .

More of Dubya wasting taxpayer money pretending to know about diplomacy:
Ayman Moyheldin reports for Al Jazeera: “He came with a message of hope, but to many Palestinians, it may be for his side comments and his jokes that George Bush will be remembered for… .
“Palestinian officials say the fact that you had a U.S. president on Palestinian Authority territory, talking about a Palestinian state, well they say that in itself is an achievement. But you could just feel the moment melt when George Bush was asked about the hardships that Israeli checkpoints cause Palestinians and he responded by joking about how he didn’t have to stop at any.”
Al Jazeera correspondent Rob Reynolds said Bush’s remarks showed a lack of “understanding of how bitterly Palestinians resent those barriers, which strangle the local economy and often subject Palestinians to petty humiliations.”

What Is He Capable Of? The Presidential Psychology at the End of Days ……………… In defiance of his circumstances as an unpopular, lame duck president with a minority party in Congress, George W. Bush pursues a sharply autocratic tone. He has intimidated both parties in Congress and violated the Constitution. Through dissimulation and delay, he has forced the nations of the world to conclude they must wait until his term ends to negotiate any serious treaty on the imminent perils of climate change. …………………. The president’s reflex to justify his right to use torture, even as he insists “we don’t torture,” illuminates how his psychology works and provides a glimpse into its dark potential. …………..many of the religious figures associated with Bush believe the final battles of the apocalypse are near, with fires that will spread from the Middle East………………………The central, secret conflict that consumes George W. Bush and motivates much of his action can be summed up in a few words: the desperate need to avoid, contain and disguise disabling fears about his competence and adequacy in a context where he expects to feel superior…………He currently likes to imagine he’s living a presidential life similar to Abraham Lincoln’s, with a war and religious fervor he imagines is like the Second Great Awakening of Lincoln’s time. ………….Because he feels weak himself, the weaker are often his targets………..

Having said that, we’re there and we’re not leaving until they can take care of themselves. I don’t care who’s in office for the next 4 years, that fact won’t change. Period. Who supplied Iraq with arms, money and weapons of mass destruction in the 80’s?
How many September 11th hijackers are from Iraq? And how many times had the hijackers or Bin Laden or his #2 visited Iraq?
And on the UN treaty you like to quote so often as a reason to invade Iraq, i just read it, the main thing was their disarmament of WMD’s. Did you see our military hauling out WMD’s by the truckload? I sure didnt, so that means he disarmed.

Better posting late - than never - But I do have to agree with Julie on one point. If we declare war on Iran —THEN— Lets declare a REAL war on Iran (a country), complete with proper Congressional Approval and Oversight as required by Constitutional Law.
No more “Slogan Wars” like “War on Terrorism”, “War on Drugs”, “War on whatever-the-freak-we-want-to-war-on-and-cheat-the-constitutional-rights-of-the-American-people-War”…
No more enemy combatants and secret torture prisons, but instead REAL POW’s and appropriate treatment under the Geneva Conventions.
And all the other things that are proper under the WarPowers Act will apply as well, and we will have a President who must follow the “Rules of Warfare” instead of a President playing GOD!…
Of course it would be a short war as this country would be bankrupt in no time by adding yet another useless warfront on our already embattled budget.
Hey — how about a “War on the National Debt!” ????
Cheers — and have a great weekend!

Good point, Glenn. Kerry went to Nam, and pretended to get shot at by the enemy and put his rear end on the line for his country. He’s the lowest of the low. Bush, however, “did his duty”, in the Guard. Edwards? he’s obviously a girlie-mon.
If only we could elect another bush. Why isn’t Jeb running? Now there’s an injustice.

Notice how Duhng is the only rushannibite who’s chewing racism? Nobody else but he is playing the race card. (I think it’s a shame that his mother didn’t raise him to be a nicer girl).
Also, Duhng, you’ve really dumbed down your comments. Why did you go all Elmer Fudd on us? I mean, are you so easily manipulated that you’d not only stop using italics because of one bit of teasing from me, but now, because I mentioned that I minored in psyche in college, you’re suddenly so cherry to speak your real mind? You’re a smart guy, duhng, you can really deliver! Come on and really give it to us. I’m telling you to let us have it! We deserve it. None of us realize the great pre-eminence of your divine aura. Talk at your superior level, we’ll figure it out some how, sir.

RB - you haven’t a clue do you? Or are you just another NeoCon Bush Boot Licker?
It was a Republican Congress in power that proposed and voted for the “Authority to use Force” Under certain circumstance. However the President abused that authority under that agreement too. The Spratt ammendment comes to mind here
The Democrats did not vote for a WAR period.
Furthermore, The majority of the Democrats voted against that “Authorization to use Force” whereas the Republicans voted for it almost 100%.
So own it! It’s your GOP War in Iraq~! Quit lying! The Democrats ARE NOT responsible for that mess.
-=-
Furthermore —
You lied again by comparing an issue under President Bill Clinton in another time era than the present situation in Iraq.
President Clinton was facing the “REAL” posibility that Iraq was reserching Nukes, and he did the right thing in getting the UN to go into Iraq. President Clinton’s descision to strike Iraq - was based on a REAL threat and not a false threat. When Saddam agreed to let UN inspectors back in, Clinton cancelled the air strikes.
Iraq stopped that research and the UN inspectors maintained that under Clinton. There were no nukes.
I think everyone agrees that Iraq with nukes under Saddam was a bad thing (even us liberals), but you spin 2 different events together to create a falsehood that Dubya’s “War on Terrorism” is an honest war, which it is not. It is a deceitful war and a big lie to the American People.. and you continue to propogate that NeoCon LIE!…
NeoCons Spin and Lie - and Soldiers Die!..

What is that idiot W doing in the middle east? He’s going to get us all killed. Get him the fock out of there, gad dammit, he’ll say the exact combination of words, (and they do exist), that will start the rube goldberg series of events that will lead to armeggedon, and you can believe that W is capable of it! Get him the fock out of the gaddam middle east NOW!
I cant believe this idiot is allowed outside of the the white house. He’s a fool, people! He called our post-911 efforts in Iraq a crusade. He’s the biggest nincompoop ever to come out of the military industrial complex set of puppets.
You people are nuts to let this clown have a pass. Get rid of him. Impeach him. Prosecute him and his fathead VP and put them where they cant hurt us or the solar system anymore.
thank you, have a nice day.
“that is all, calling all cars, calling all cars, be on the lookout for a nitwit traveling the arabian penninsula trying to start armeggedon, he was last seen traveling east on west street, or was it north on south street, anyway, it wasn’t anywhere near here, nyuck nyuck.” (transcript of one of the few surviving Curly monologue stand up bits)
Curly was the greatest comedian. The greatest standup. The greatest cross dresser. The greatest mime. The greatest improv. He was da mozart of comedy. fact.
FACT!

Prophet Polly: I got your as-s all tore up, don’t I?
Duh.
And that little press release up there at 5:26 was from the democrats, not Rush, you bozo:
{{{{Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., through a spokesman, used even stronger language. “Following Barack Obama’s victory in Iowa and historic voter turnout in New Hampshire, the cynics unfortunately have stepped up their efforts to decry his uplifting message of hope and fundamental change.}}}}
{{{{“Regrettably, they have resorted to distasteful and condescending language that appeals to our fears rather than our hopes. I sincerely hope that they’ll turn away from such reactionary, disparaging rhetoric.”}}}}
If Rush had called Obama a drug dealer, the world would have stopped rotating by now.
But no, this is the All Mighty democrat party we are talking about, Joe Biden can call Obama clean as though the rest of you are dirty, Boy Wonder KKKlintoon can call Obama’s campaign a fairy tale and Bit-ch KKKlintoon can call Martin Luther King a second fiddle to the great white Klanner president Johnson.
No Problem.
Check me if I’m wrong: Rush called Shrillary a wrinkled old hag, which happens to be true. That very evening, all of the pinko nation flopped down upon the floor and flayed about in outrage.
KKKlintoon then calls MLK a water boy and there is not one peep from crying chorus.
Somebody’s getting suckered.

Where’s Ron Paul ml? Last night’s was a pretty good debate. I’d personally enjoy exploring some new topics from both parties. We can only hear the same responses to the same questions, soft or hard pitched.
I gave Huckabee a chance and he’s been checked off my list. Covering up his ignorance with a smile and a quip won’t cut it with me.
Giuliani brought something new. I was impressed. He’s talking about something the other candidates or conservative voters have considered. He’s telling conservatives to think about the long-haul.
I like Rudy. I like Fred. I’ll be O.K. with Romney and will reluctantly vote for McCain.
Where’s Ron Paul?……oops, I already asked that question.

Been reading.
The GOP is going to turn the economy around just how?
They seem to still stick with current administration policy.
How’s that going to make anything better?
Huckabee is the best the GOP has. Why don’t they like him?
What is with the Michigan primary? Super delegates? The DNC?
Bloomberg? Dobbs? Gore?
Iraq hasn’t met any of the political benchmarks. Security is better.
Healthcare is huge. It’s mostly code to the man on the street.
Energy Independence?
2008 will be interesting. I could be great.
‘Night all.

The very last line of my post should be “IT COULD BE GREAT”
I’m above average at best and tend to let laundry pile up.
Please excuse me.

Obama: the only weak point he has is that he’s telling the american people that we can bring our troops home if he’s elected. Yes, we can bring a photo-op # of troops home, but we need to keep at least 100K there, maybe 500K there, okay, maybe 1.5 million troops are eventually going to be needed to secure those oil fields. Fact. Live it. Believe it. Iraq is going to have to be the second non-contiguous state of our union. The first is Korea, no, japan, no, alaska, yes, alaska, that’s the first non-contiguous state. The russians were such dummies to sell us alaska. When was that? Who was in power, and how did that play out in world war one? Follow that money people, and you’ll know what Kennedy knew when he took the world to the brink for nothing during the cuban missile crisis. You know, when you read the transcripts of these geo-political geniuses advising kennedy during the ten days in october, you really have to wonder just how stupid mankind is. These were supposedly the best of us, yet they couldn’t play out the various possible scenarios and consequences that kennedy was confronted with at all. There was a chicago sun times article in the seventies that claimed that the deal we finally ended up with was that cuba got to keep those missiles there. In other words, we got some real kooky military industrial complex spin on just what really went down during that blockade when the soviet ships were minutes away from being fired on by our navy.
Add that to the tactical nukes in play (and then you have to throw in the soviet general who thought he had authorization to launch a tactical nuke at any US invasion of Cuba) and you get just how close we all came to anihilation over nothing. So what if the soviets had nukes in cuba? We had closer nukes in turkey. So what? Kennedy took us to the brink of a massive exchange of ICBMs for no reason. He was as big a fool then as W is now with Iraq. There was no reason to invade Iraq. None. Not one. Saddam was a bad man? Oh really, CHENEY is a bad man.
I SAID CHENEY IS A BAD MAN!

The continuing implications by members of the Democratic Party that the Bush Administration justified the Iraq invasion by linking it to 9/11 are the product of people who are either too gullible to apprehend the truth or else too dishonest to admit the truth. In the eyes of people who happen to prefer truth to lies, you discredit yourself every time you spout that nonsense.
It was, incidentally, the Czech administration which held, and still holds, that there was such a linkage, and not President Bush, his Secretary of State or his general staff. It’s a lie.
