Screaming Urinal headline:
{{{{DEATH TOLL IN IRAQ: Study: Violence claims 151,000 Iraqis}}}}
The first picture under this banner headline is United States soldiers in an eerie smoke filled room looking for something to kill and then the next photo is of an despondent Iraqi woman with her face buried in her hands. Finally, a 10 paragraph story follows, a story that makes absolutely no mention of al Qaeda, none.
Dearest Urinal: Instead of going through these elaborate propaganda efforts, why don’t you just make your headlines say: “Goon soldiers from United States prey on little Iraqi babies causing untold grief among the citizens and forces peace loving al Qaeda to blow up women and children.”
You know, what you are really trying to say.
~~~~~~
The Psychos of Sorrow wailing out another mating whine:
{{{{Worker confidence plunges: U.S. hits record low on survey; Atlanta’s numbers also down -The Whiny Times}}}}
{{{{ATLANTA BOAT SHOW: Riding choppy waters: Vendors are optimistic about boat sales despite shaky condition of economy, low lake levels in metro area. - Crying Jag}}}}
{{{{Market finishes with gains after seesaw day - (Up 146 points in the Dow, but we won’t tell you that!)}}}}
Jesus Moses, is everyone who works at the Atlanta Urinal stupid enough to have an adjustable rate mortgage and a part time job in real estate?
Are you libs and the only people you know in the world, total failures or what?
Or are you trying to influence the election?<————-!!!!!
{{{{In New Hampshire, Hillary saw a double digit-lead over Obama steadily wither to a two-point victory over him, and a shabby victory it was. She saw her husband flaying about, whining at press coverage, referring to Obama’s impressive rise to national prominence as a “fairytale” and his presidency as a “rolling of the dice.” Her campaign staff began to buckle. The New York Times reported the former Boy President was increasingly a soporific on the stump, and USA Today called him a “relic.” Hillary was reduced to tears just before the balloting began.}}}}
The “bottom story of the day:”
{{{{“No amount of White House spin can hide the fact that the escalation’s chief objective of political reconciliation remains unmet, Iraqis have not demonstrated any readiness to stand up and take responsibility for their own country, and 2007 was the most lethal year yet for American troops,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.}}}}
Blah, blah, blah, like a wind up idiot doll, fully loaded up with ignorant, mindless things to spew.
Yeah, Harry, the United States Senate has been a stunning and marvelous success this year, why, let’s look back upon all of YOUR achievements, homey:
STFU, YOU FILTHY, GUTLESS WONDERS, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE WAR THEN CUT OFF FUNDING YOU SERIOUS PUS-SIES, QUIT STABBING OUR TROOPS IN THE BACK.
Pentagon Official: Surge Has No More Than A ‘50-50′ Chance Of Success ……………….Today at the Heritage Foundation, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Middle Eastern Affairs Mark Kimmitt said 2008 will be “far more difficult” than 2007 for the U.S. strategy because “it depends far more on the Iraqis themselves to show progress on key legislation, on their economy, and reconciliation.” Kimmitt predicted only a mild chance that “surge” security gains will last: 2008 and beyond will be a success, the surge will be a success, if the gains in security can be translated into gains in stability…if I had to put a number to it, maybe it’s three in 10, maybe it’s 50-50, if we play our cards right.
The “front” runner in the democratic race for president of the United States is a two faced, lying, political hack who only thinks of herself and her ambitions for ultimate power, when she speaks of Iraq’s future no one knows for sure what she said, her included, and what came from it’s lying mouth was planted their only to deceive.
The number “two” man says that he will cut and run from Iraq within ten months after he’s elected.
Meanwhile, al Qaeda and Iran remain poised to over run the remnants of Iraq, drooling over the prospect that America will abandon her to the throat cutting religious extremists.
So you tell me, if you were an Iraqi politician, would you bet your future on cooperating with America, knowing full well that the gutless wonder democrats could win and leave you to the tender merciful retributions of the blood thirsty Islamic fanatics?
Everyone knows the spineless history of the democrat party, just look at the millions of people they betrayed in South Vietnam.
I believe the guy at the lectern is supposed to be, as the person watching asks, a pollster.
“On to South Carolina” implies we may face a repeat performance.
It’s also an indirect swipe at the nonviable candidates who do not have a realistic chance at the nomination, who’ve made their case, but continue on to the next primary. If these people dropped out (as Gov Richardson has) we’d see where their supporters go.
When I used to work for a major coporation we used to spend alot of time forecasting subsequent month’s results. Then we would spend even more time explaining why our actual results varied from our forecasts. We spent so much time explaining variances we didn’t have any time to actually try to achieve our results.
Polls are worthless. As they say in sports…that’s why we play the games.
As I posted yesterday morning, I think another description of the NH “independent” voters might be “wishy-washy”… about 50% of NH voters are undeclared, and I read where many of them stated that they did not decide who to vote for until they got to their polling places.
My suggestion is that our media not report any poll numbers next time for the NH primaries!
Is Hillary now resorting to Cheney-like scare tactics to win Dem voters to her side? If so, I think Hillary may find that I’m not the only voter who is turned off by her words…
“I don’t think it was by accident that al-Qaeda decided to test the new prime minister. They watch our elections as closely as we do, maybe more closely than some of our fellows citizens do. Let’s not forget you’re hiring a president not just to do what a candidate says during the election, you want a president to be there when the chips are down.” —HRC, New Hampshire
{{{{Who does this situation benefit? It’s so unusual, it’s hard to say. Clearly, the situation has been a major defeat for Hillary Clinton, who was expected to walk away with the Democrat nomination like it was part of the White House china. Her inevitability seems very evitable now. Winning New Hampshire by 3 points in a badly split race facing challengers running without the benefit of having inherited a two term Presidents political network and machine is ridiculous. Were she a decent candidate the race should be over by now. It may occur to Dems that she might not be the sort of campaign natural they want batting for them in November.}}}}
Wishy-washy may be a little harsh. I think a lot of people supported Hillary (even if they preferred Obama) as they thought he had the best chance to defeat the Rep candidate. The NH polls (inaccurate though they were) contributed to Obama’s rising numbers - the perception that he could defeat a Rep candidate - particularly one who appealed to special interest groups who constitute a minority of the voter population.
So people were waiting and seeing. As far as undecided based upon differences based upon the candidates themselves, one commentator noted (I don’t intend this as incendiary, just an interesting point of view)
“remember, this is a Democratic election in which there are no issues at all between the three candidates. It is an absurd debate between hopeful change, experienced change, and angry change, which is John Edwards, which has no substance. It is all about personality and about these odd little events.”
So people go on other factors - freshness, genuineness, etc - which the candidates are scrambling to see what resonates. I think Hillary went about it in typical “poll and see what works” fashion while Obama just laid out “this is what I’m about.”
missed a letter - meant to write
“as they thought SHE (Hillary) had the best chance to defeat the Rep candidate.”
Another take on this - NH is now “Hillary’s resurgence.” If more of the polls had been more accurate, the story would have been how H went from a 14-point lead to a 2-point lead.
“But when about 50% of the voters are “undeclared”… well, I think the polls in that state might be pretty worthless!”
Excellent point. One pollster said a mistake made was pollsters weed out people who aren’t likely to vote. Many of those people decided in the last couple of days to vote. The pollsters never went back to them and asked “change your mind about if you are going to vote?”
I mentioned the other day - Hillary was on Fox news morning show yesterday - at the end she appeared a bit surprised when one of the interviewers told her the Fox poll was closer to the outcome than the others.
‘Tis a strange season indeed.
But I go back to a central point - based upon the demographics of those who have voted, the shift now is the realization that Obama could win in a general election.
You see, Duhng, when you type a comment, you are the first one to read it as you type, so your brain is getting it both visually and from the little voice in your head. Everyone knows the spineless history of the democrat party, just look at the millions of people they betrayed in South Vietnam.
Looks like the usual BS we have come to associate with the Republican party. To paraphrase Reagan, ‘The problem with (Republicans) is that they’re real smart people but so much of what they know just isn’t so.’
Gerald Ford (REPUBLICAN) signed the final withdrawal orders for Vietnam after long and unltimately fruitful negotiations by Henry Kissinger (REPUBLICAN) under the former and previously disgraced President Richard Nixon (REPUBLICAN). Withdrawal from Nam was Nixon’s primary campaign platform and promise for those too young to know.
Anyway you slice it, REPUBLICANS were the ‘cut n runners’ of the Nam era. They were the same pussified arm-chair warriors who ‘cut n run’ under Ike (REPUBLICAN) after Truman involved us in Korea, too.
Republicans think if they whine and squeal loud and long enough that they can rewrite history and continue to blame their FAILURES on Democrats, but they don’t get too.
Anytime you talk to a Republican, be prepared to hear an endless stream of lies and half-truths. They have become so rabid for power and the ability to pilfer your wallet with absolute impunity that they are desperate enough to tell you that Nixon and Kissinger were Democrats. Now THAT’S the biggest laugh I’m liable to have all damn year.
Yeah, right:
{{{{Historians have directly attributed the fall of Saigon in 1975 to the cessation of American aid. Without the necessary funds, South Vietnam found it logistically and financially impossible to defeat the North Vietnamese army. Moreover, the withdrawal of aid encouraged North Vietnam to begin an effective military offensive against South Vietnam. Given the monetary and military investment in Vietnam, former Assistant Secretary of State Richard Armitage compared the American withdrawal to “a pregnant lady, abandoned by her lover to face her fate.” 2 Historian Lewis Fanning went so far as to say that “it was not the Hanoi communists who won the war, but rather the American Congress that lost it.”}}}}
Iraqi Basketball Player
A University of Memphis Tigers scout flies to Baghdad to watch a young Iraqi play basketball in a new American sponsored league and is very impressed with a young Iraqi player. He arranges for him to come over to the US and play basketball on scholarship.
A few months later the Tigers are down 10 points to the Louisville Cardinals with only 5 minutes left. Calipari gives the young Iraqi the nod and he goes in. The kid is a sensation, scoring 5 three point goals in 5 minutes and winning the game for the home team Tigers!
The fans, players and coaches are all delighted. Even ESPN loves this new star!
When the player comes off the court he phones his Mom to tell her about his first day of NCAA basketball.
“Hello Mom, guess what?” he says in an Iraqi accent. “I played for 5 minutes today, we were 10 points down, but I scored 5 three pointers and we won. Everybody loves me, the fans, the media, they all love me.”
“Wonderful,” says his Mom, “now let me tell you about my day. Your father got shot in the street and robbed, Your sister and I were ambushed, raped and beaten and your brother has joined a gang of looters, and all while you were having such great time.”
The young Iraqi is very upset. “Mom, I’m so sorry.”
“All you can say is you’re sorry?!?!?!?!?” says his Mom. “It’s your fault we moved to Memphis in the first place! “
That is a good cartoon. The fact is that polls are notoriously inaccurate in ‘open’ primary states and probably should not be published, except that papers and cable channels use them to MAKE (up) news. The poll itself becomes the event, the news, the reason for the story. However, we do have a first amendment, so they cannot be outlawed, nor should they. News organizations should use them more judiciously however.
Nevertheless, Hitlery will lose in the end, even if she does get the nomination. She is a jerk and just plain unlikable. News organizations also failed to play the segment of her talk right after her little tear-up session when she went right back to being cold and calculating and ripping Barak Obama up and down. The woman who asked the question even voted for Obama. Too bad so many women see in Hitlery what they want to see and not what she is - a first class manipulator and narcissistic twit!
If keeping the Dem candidates off Fox was a stated objective - Soros ought to ask for his money back. Political survival trumps appeasing ideological groups at this stage.
I think Edwards is the lone hold out in the absurd boycott of appearing on Fox. Maybe that’s one of the America’s he doesn’t think he represents.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The way the Democrat Party race is shaping up seems to be good news for either Edwards if by some odd chance Obama drops and for Obama if he stays close to Hillary. Senator Clinton will have a really tough time if she doesn’t quickly build a huge lead.
Fir you moonbat(ic)s® I’ll put this into simple terms you can understand. Remember the three finalists on last year’s American Idol? You had a beat boxer guy (Hillary) and two girls (Obama and Edwards) with great voices and very similar styles. The beat boxer (Hillary) had all the support he was ever going to get and once one of the girls (Obama and Edwards) was knocked out the remaining girl (Obama or Edwards) got the support the other one had and skyrocketed into an unbeatable lead.

As Lt. Gen. Russel Honore prepares to retire from the Army and hand over his command Friday, he says he wants to spend the rest of his life creating a “culture of preparedness” to prevent another post-disaster disaster.
“There’s an attitude everywhere else that people are smarter than they are in New Orleans and in Mississippi. They’re not,” Honore, 60, said at his office at Fort Gillem outside Atlanta. “What happened in New Orleans could have happened anywhere on the eastern seaboard.”

Getalife,
I really hope Hillary loses the nomination, I do think she would be a decent president, nearly anyone would be a nice change from our current administration.
The thing is, the only principle that can unite the GOP is a shared hatred of anything clinton. She is the one candidate in either primary that has the excitement of the GOP base. A clinton presidency would keep intact a failing and fractured GOP.
This country needs a good opposition party to function well, the GOP needs to regroup and recommit to some basic principles that it has lost in the past 8 years. A clinton presidency would delay that, also I would expect a GOP rally in the 2010 congressional elections that would bring back a stalemate to government.

There is not going to be any type of national unity, you are right, that is a false hope. However, with hilary, there is an automatic vote against her of at least 45% or higher. I do not think she is the most electable candidate, and the type of attack politics I think everyone is tired of works against hillary and will be used over and over. She is considered partisan, albeit unfairly as she is the one being attacked, it is still the reality that she is a devisive figure. Her time is passed, better that the country moves on to a younger generation of leaders.

About the discrepency in the polling for new hampshire, I have not heard anyone mention that biden and dodd dropped out just days before the primary. Those type of voters seem to me to be more likely to go for hillary as a second choice than obama. Even if Biden and dodd voters combined make up 4% of the vote, that is enough to turn it for hillary.
Just saying, and I think hillary benefits more from the richardson drop out as well, Obama would pick up from gravel, kucinich, and edwards voters more than clinton, but those three are not going to drop out any time soon.

She is very much like Ma Ferguson and Nellie Tayloe Ross - elected only because of their husbands. She did not achieve her political success COMPLETELY on her own like such notables as Jeannette Rankin, Senator Susan Collins (who is a single woman), Senator Diane Feinstein or even Geraldine Ferraro. Speaking of those speedboats, it seems to me a few RPG’s in the hands of these nimble boat users could inflict some heavy damage on our smaller boats in the gulf. They wouldn’t have to be Iranis piloting the boats, they could be your typical terrorists du jour. Or worse yet, suicide boat bombers could probably bring down large U.S. warships if they had enough explosives…and they have shown in the past they seem to.

What about Mary Bono Mack? Elizabeth Dole?
If anything, Hillary Clinton is an incredibly strong woman who does not strike me as the type who would ever rely on a man for anything (and I mean anything) to achieve her goals.

Hillary claims her “experience” is what makes her the better candidate for our next prez… Well, let’s just compare. There’s:
several yrs. as a law firm partner.
several yrs. sleeping in a bedroom @ the Governors’ mansion.
several yrs. sleeping in a bedroom @ the White House.
several yrs. arguing with fellow Senators in the U.S. Senate.
Hmmmm….. now contrast that with Sen. Obama’s years of leadership and “experience”:
several yrs. as law school professor.
several yrs. as community activist and civil rights lawyer.
several yrs. in state Senate.
several yrs. arguing with fellow Senators in the U.S. Senate.
Hmmm…. I think I’ll take the one with the additional proven leadership years as law professor, community activist, civil rights lawyer, state senator, and U.S. Senator — as opposed to the other one who’s apparently spent more of her years sleeping in powerful bedrooms.

You’re RICH? Congrats! You may want one hand on the voting lever and one hand on your wallet!
Median household income (half above, half below) in this country is about $46k a year. That’s not what the person makes - it’s the household.
If memory serves me correctly, there was a fleeting moment when VP Gore was running that he made a passing comment, in line with his “who are we going to tax” remarks, that $60 grand a year was rich. You never saw so much backpedaling and clarification! LOL!
@@
Glad you’re back - something I wanted to ask to see if it passes the common sense test.
Couple weeks back came reports Ahmadinejad had fallen out of favor with Khameini. As long as the country had a threatening enemy (US) there was unity, in spite of A’s economic program which has wreaked havoc on the country, leading to largescale discontent. Then came the US intel reassessment regarding their nuke program. Suddenly the pressure’s off for unity and A’s position is threatened.
Shortly thereafter we have the Strait of Hormuz confrontation with the Iranian Guards’ provocation of the US naval forces. We were seconds away from firing. Iranians did what they could to provoke our firing, without firing themselves.
Think of what would have happened if we had fired. US forces shot first. Sank Iranian vessels and killed her people. Now they have a direct attack around which to rally the citizenry, solidifying Ahmadinejad’s power and giving an excuse to clamp down on the people.
What do you think of this “connect the dots” exercise?

Obama/Hart ‘08!
Democrats and Americans are faced with a big decision. Will we play it safe? Or will we embrace the future? This is not a time to put gender or race above what is best for the country or to make superficial choices. We have huge debts and deficits. The climate is rapidly approaching a tipping point. We are stuck in the Middle East. Most of the people in the world do not like us or trust us. Our education system is declining. And the list goes on.— Only a new generation of leaders can solve these new challenges, because only a new generation of leaders is unbound by old policies, old commitments and arrangements, old deals and old friendships. This is a time when America must leave old politics behind. This election is about transition not power. We will either move forward or we will go back.

Looks like we got back about the same time. In response to your 3:59…
There are two videos floating around of the incident in the Straits. Iran’s has a helicopter in it, the U.S. video doesn’t. Who knows which one is legit.
Here’s what I’m thinking. Iran is starting to feel like the odd man out in the ME even though carrots are there for the nibbling—not just from the U.S. but from neighboring Arab countries who have no love for Iran. They’re willing to work with them but not willing to recognize them as the region’s power player. Ahmadinejad is feeling the squeeze from within and from without. He’s probably trying to provoke an attack for the very reasons you mentioned. It’ll only benefit from inside Iran but I don’t think they want to push it too far.
George Friedman wrote an article at Stratfor some time back about conspiracy theorists. Said he didn’t put much store in conspiracies except when two power brokers are going after the same win but….those in power would never create a war situation because it’s they who have the most to lose. Ahmadenijad is gonna lose either way. It’s best he bite the carrots and leave us with the big stick.
He and his clerics may be willing to meet their virgins somewhere else but I’m thinking his opponents in Iran want to enjoy the ones here on earth.
Did the article entitled “Turkey, Greece: A Natural Gas Domino Effect” come through your e-mail. It’s fascinating. Turkmenistan raises prices for Iran. Iran protests. Turkmenistan doesn’t care, they’ve got plenty of other customers. Iran will have to pay prices they can’t afford with the sanctions. Iran cuts off supply to Turkey—Turkey dips into the TGI which impacts Europe’s supply. I’ve never seen anything like it.
I can’t link you to Stratfor but this article from UPI sums it up pretty well
Initially I’m thinking….Putin…..he’s the one that holds energy sources hostage for leverage, but then Turkmenistan and Russia have their own conflicts going on.

Countries many Americans have never heard of are doing some interesting power plays with their resources. Russia’s hit a few bumps lately - but they’ve always got arms sales. You have to admire them with Iran - get contracts to build underground facilities. Get contracts to build reactor. Hold back on materials for more money. Sell sophisticated air defense system to protect facilities (the peaceful ones). Sell ANOTHER, even more sophisticated air defense system.
Lousy capitalists.
Anyway, I wonder if the time isn’t right to make some high-level overtures to Iran. Could have effect of giving moral encouragement to the opposition - or at least reinforcing the impression we’re not just out for war but will take the initiative for stability. Wouldn’t “strengthen” Khameini - he’s not going anywhere - but could weaken Ahmadinejad. And possibly lead to some weakening of the mullahs.
Flies in the face of Hillary’s preconditions. Bush admin tends to do things at lower-midlevel, quietly. We should consider situations as opportunities, not just actions at face value calling for a response.

Anybody figure out yet whose footage that was that showed Hillary choking on tears? Mm-mmmn. Let’s see, two days after she happened to remark that she hadn’t cried in public and that “it’s different for a woman” to do so while running for President. Then the day comes, a day when she’d assiduously avoided the cameras and microphones and reporters. And a lone camera and microphone are right there in her personal space, and the very thing she’d speculated about not 48 hours before happens and —- voila! —- just in time for the final pre-election news cycle every media outlet is playing the footage simultaneously. No exclusives, no delays, none of them crowing credit for the scoop footage.
If I didn’t trust the Clintons, I’d bet five Linden Dollars that the footage was staged, shot, edited and released by the Clinton campaign. But that would be too cynical.

getalife, that’s interesting that your grandfather bequeathed you a general distrust of government.
I’m just curious, what were some of the things you distrusted most about President Clinton and his Administration?

OOOOOhhhh. How deeply embarrassing! I was referring of course to the Tonkin Gulf Resolution, of which you obviously have not heard.
The TGR has weighed heavily on the busy minds of the DNC-AJC blog lefties in the past couple of days. Were you not aware that the Naval incident in the Gulf was staged by our jingoes as a pretext for war with Iran?
I’ll stop typing now, and let you try to pick apart my grammar or my heritage or something, unless you are unwilling to embarrass yourself further.

By RE 2008 5:50 PM So, how many of those “average” income earners do you think can afford that additional $800 tax bill? Weren’t you libs the ones on here 2 days ago whining about the people on the edge? Which is it? Do you care about them or don’t you? I’m sick of this double talk. You’re lying to the American people with this crap.
Or maybe the plan isn’t really to tax “everybody” 2%, but is to make up the difference by taxing successful people 4% to make up the difference. Smoke and mirrors, baby. Buy the votes and cash the checks.
getalife, I could look at Hillary’s site until Bill becomes faithful and I wouldn’t find 1 dam thing in her plan that would help real middle class people 1 bit. Everything she’s proposed is a tax on peeople to pay for more government services for people she wants votes from. Period. You go look it up and prove me wrong.

Can I change the subject?
Meredith Emerson.
I did not know her, but know many who did and some who searched the woods.
No politics now please.
What do you suggest to your mothers, wives and daughters who want to walk safe in America?
No s**. Do I really need to carry a pistol to take my Joe and Pups for a swim? Do you recommend a self defense course? Pepper Spray?
We can argue the causes and solutions of the underlying problems tomorrow.
What do we say tonight?

Paul:
I think Bush and this administration has other countries making those overtures. Negotiations are going on. I’m just not privy to what they are.
Frozen Iranian bloggers.
They have bloggers?
Iran is facing an exceptionally cold winter. Snow has trapped many cities and at least eight people have lost their lives. Even gas supplies have been disrupted although Iran is the second richest gas country in the world. Millions of people are deprived of heating.
(((Several bloggers have provided photos from “frozen cities”, shared their stories, and criticised the government for mismanagement of crisis.))) That one sounds like a liberal—blame with no solutions.
(((Uzakyol says [Fa] there is a clear difference in how Turkey managed a recent gas shortage. While several cities in Iran are deprived of gas, Turkey managed the crisis. The blogger says the difference is that ——->gas is in the hands of the government in Iran,<——- while in Turkey the ——->private sector is more flexible in finding solutions.<——-))) That one sounds like a conservative.
Leftists think government sucks, but only when it’s a Republican government.
Conservatives think government sucks period, and would prefer the private sector to seek solutions.
Come to think of it, if Putin was involved with Turkmenistan raising their gas prices and then cutting it off that would be Putin screwing with Iran.
Puzzle pieces…puzzle pieces! Where the heck do they fit?

Walking in the woods alone is exactly like running with the herd in an open field.
Carrying a pistola for protection is like swallowing a needle to innoculate yourself against the flu.
Being afraid to live is like facing death with ennui.

I realize that this issue doesn’t amount to a Hill of beans in the midst of our terrible war with the Persians, but do you suppose that Bloomberg.com will cease placing breeder stories for Hillary’s oppo shop —- for the big outlets, notably the one the L.A. Times calls the Corrupt News Network, to pick up with cover —- now that Mayor Bloomberg thinks he may actually make a run and will have to go through Hillary to get there?
RB,
Your analysis of Hillary’s 10-point plan is false. It’s not true that “everything she’s proposed” constitutes the rankest vote-buying.
As a matter of fact, the first two proposals propose nothing at all, and the third and eighth are the same proposal, put in different ways. What you should have said is that, of Hillary’s Seven-Point Former Ten-Point Plan, everything she’s proposed constitutes the rankest vote-buying.
Moreover, you forgot to mention that most of it falls outside the rightful jurisdiction of the federal government, most of the proposed measures would be counterproductive, and all of them exhorbitant.
Try to get it right next time, please. These things are important just now, even while we’re at war with Iran.

Smith and Wesson makes a very nice revolver called the Lady Smith, it is a 38 caliber so there are no massive recoil issues and when loaded with Speer Gold Dot hollow points can be a wonderful way to send some pervert POS straight to hell where they belong.
Remember to aim.
And if your are a hopeless pinko pacifist then aim at the air right next to the sorry little freaks ear, see if he don’t grab some yonder.
If you aren’t worried about concealment then I suggest a Heckler & Koch MP5, this is a terrific weapon for dispersing large crowds in a major hurry.
Seriously.

Glenn,
I never trust government but at least his administration was held accountable and testified thousand of times for nothing.
This one, well Luntz said it best on fixed noise, of all places:
“What they really want is accountability and they don’t think they get that from the Republicans.”

Bought my mother a Lady Smith only to discover that that particular model was a “hide” weapon with no, repeat no, safety! Now if you think that teaching American History is embarrassing, try making a mistake like my handgun one!
Ingrams are better for crowd dispersal. Little snub-nosed barrels spray like a sawed-off shotgun. Most intimidating. Seriously. Learned this trick in Guatemala City.

N-GA,
Thanks.
Sorry I can’t check the blog often, cooking some brunswick stew tonight. Need something to warm up with, it droped down to 75 in Ft Lauderdale.
RB,
Listen, I would like to have a conversation with you and exchange ideas, however you seem to be a partisan contrarian. No matter what example I show you, you will automatically disagree and spout off a talking point.
Heres the thing, and it is on Rush’s website if you don’t believe me, the average american does not pay much, if any federal income tax. They get most of it back if not all, people don’t really start complaining about taxes until they get above 100k. But since you bring it up, I think the average american can take $800 a year tax increase, which would be about $67 per month change in income. Compare that with the inflationary cost of oil, which has gone from an average $120/month expense to a $280/ month expense.
How about those retiring babyboomers who were careful and saved up the 401k like they were told they should do, only to find that after inflation and dollar devaluation, they are taking a 30% haircut on value. That is real loss, and that is a shortsighted monetary policy at fault.
If it was someone aside from Bush running the economy like this, I would still think it is idiotic.

Ms. G,
I received this quote from a friend just this morning. Perfect for your question.
“An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.” —Robert Heinlein
