Good for Obama!
Let’s not count Edwards out.
Money may or may not be an issue. While he opted in for government financing, they haven’t sent the check because the FEC really doesn’t exist at the moment. He may then be able to opt out.
After yesterdays showing he might be able to raise some serious cash.

You really believe the neo-conmen and women love the thought of a centrist female named Clinton becoming president? They hate Bill because he was smarter than Ken Starr and his bunch of religious nuts, and they hate Hillary because…well, just because. Not one of the neo-cons can site any of her positions (except when the rail against universal healthcare).

I gotta say, tough times for the republicans. Watching how the primary is shaping up for the GOP is kinda like watching the NFC south. One of those candidates has to win, even though none of them are any good (I am a panthers fan as I say this). Remember when Thompson was going to be the savior of the GOP, how about how Romney was unbeatable in Iowa, Guliani was going to sweep the nation and roll over clinton. Now what is left, Huckabee, who seems like a really nice guy, just not much for current events, and McCain, who wingnuts hate because on occasion he lives in the real world.
Don’t feel too bad though, the president in 08 is going to be facing huge problems, stagflation and the economy being the biggest, the government can’t fake the numbers forever and the fed had little influence with rate cuts anymore. the GOP has always been much better about complaining about government than actually governing anyway.
Biggest stories from the caucus, Obama won in a majority white rural state with an older than average population, he is the more elcetable candidate than Hillary. The other thing is that the GOP has no momentum or interest, the dems doubled the amount of caucus goers the GOP had.
08 is looking like a dem landslide unless hillary actually gets the nomination, she is the only candidate out there who can energize the GOP base.

Obama/Hart in ‘08!
Senator Obama is a man of principle. He is committed to restoring a sense of national community to America. He believes in restoring our security alliances through active diplomacy and engaging those who disagree with us in constructive dialogue. He restates the requirement that we all give something back to America, to become engaged in the public arena, in the national interest. And, most important, he is the walking embodiment of equality and justice.— Already the Obama candidacy has sent a powerful message around a watching world: The torch has been passed to a new generation of American leaders, and we don’t care what color it is.

What are we looking at today ml?
Two popped corn colonels that bounced in Iowa? Two “likeables”? Likeable plays well in elementary school, middle school and high school — once you step into the “real world”, not so much.
Granted, Obama’s strategy of HOPE gives him a commanding presence, but is that enough to win in the general?
As an Illinois State Senator, Obama, the HOPEFUL voted “present” 130 times when key bills were introduced on the floor. How long can he get by on hope alone? At some point he has to make some difficult decisions and his voting record doesn’t make it appear as though he’s capable.
Huckabee, on the other hand? While getalife calls him Gomer, I’m inclined to call him Goober. His commuted sentences vs. his executions carried through? It almost takes on the appearance of a guilty conscience. This one goes…this one stays…this one goes…this one stays?
Difficult times call for difficult decisions and neither one of these guys are up to the challenge.
It was a historical moment nonetheless. An African American wins in a rural state comprised of 98% white voters. Racism can no longer be a tool for the left.
The greater majority of evangelicals did NOT vote for a baptist minister — therefore Christians are not ignorant sheeples.
The important messages came through but the winners did not.
How sad that Joe Biden and Chris Dodd didn’t get their 15%. After he dropped out Joe said that Iowans told him he was likeable…Iowans told him he was qualified.
They just didn’t think he could win.
So for the dems “a win” is more valuable than a candidate with substance. A candidate who is respected by, and has successfully worked with Republicans.
Mmmmm….mm….mmm….mm….mmm.

Back in August, I wrote an article for the Huffington Post entitled “An Economic Populist Is Rising In the GOP Presidential Primary.” In that article, I predicted that Republican Mike Huckabee would rise and potentially win the Iowa caucuses based on his relentless focus on economic inequality and class-based populism. I chided the media and Democrats for ignoring him, and when I wrote this article, I was laughed at by many reporters, pundits and readers alike. ………. As I said at the beginning of the day, no matter what the final exact tallies, we the progressive movement - and We The People - are already winning.

I Like it Mike. What’s the bounce off the political hotplate, so whitty?
“The Awakening is now operating all across Iraq and involving all sects. We will continue chasing Al-Qaeda. We have no enemies except Al-Qaeda. The Americans are not our enemy anymore. Our forces will deal exclusively with Al-Qaeda. We will hunt them until we get rid of the last element.” - One Sunni Leader in Iraq
Another mission in the war seems to be approaching completion. Assuming the media manipulated democrat base doesn’t exchange victory for political power. FYI, Victory is defined as an Iraqi government of the people, by the people and for the people, who realizes “the West” was not the biggest cause of their despair.
Should we stay as long as the Iraqi Government wants our defense training? After all, Al-Qaeda got training while fighting one of our strongest allies, Russia (sarc). Or do we need to get back to doing for Americans, what they won’t do for themselves?
Welfare in exchange for political power, or welfare to fight for “hearts and minds” in the middle of our enemies backyard? You decide, but don’t stay stuck on stupid.

You know the worst thing about having a house in Jackson. Dish network assigned us the Macon stations as our local channels. Because of this, even when the Falcons are blacked out in Atlanta, we still get their games.
The Buccaneers cannot figure out why they still have unsold playoff tickets for Sunday’s game. Perhaps the $375-550 ticket prices has something to do with it.

Now THIS is funny. It is news when Dubya stays up past his bed time. What a sorry loser!
Bush stayed up late for caucus returns Posted: 02:30 PM ET The president stayed up late to watch the caucus returns. The president stayed up late to watch the caucus returns.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – It takes something extraordinary to keep President Bush awake late into the evening, and the exciting Iowa caucuses — which resulted in upstart victories for Republican Mike Huckabee and Democrat Barack Obama — were up to the challenge.
“The President watched the returns last night, he stayed up past his usual bedtime I think to wait for the results to be announced,” White House spokesman Tony Fratto told reporters with a smile on Friday morning. “He watched the network coverage of the results coming in. It’s something obviously that he’s keeping an eye on.”

It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited about anything that comes out of a politician’s mouth. That being said, I got goosebumps during Obama’s victory speech last night. I felt like I was watching history in the making, and I finally decided who’s going to get my vote for President. My husband and I decided that we want to get involved in the Obama campaign and help garner as much support as possible.
I believe Obama’s stance on American foreign policy, ending the war in Iraq, stopping the polarization of our government, women’s rights to choose, affordable health care for all, and increased funding of new energy technologies are EXACTLY what our country needs right now! Having Hillary as our Democratic nominee will only guarantee defeat, as Republicans will come out of the woodwork to vote against her.
VOTE FOR OBAMA IN ‘08!

It’s even suckier to believe that America is practically perfect in every way. (The Mary Poppins Effect)
“You people” and your holier than thou attitude have made America an international pariah.
“You people” are maniacally self righteous.
“You people” only pay attention to the market, unemployment numbers, manufacturing numbers, home sales, food and fuel costs when it affects your dividend checks.
“You people” are unable to question my patriotism because you have no real understanding of the word or the responsibilities that go with it.
I suggest “You people” learn to love America as it is - imperfect and flawed - and then get off your lazy backsides and become an activist, changing that which needs repair.

Mike,
The market the past few years was floated on a bubble. The dot com bubble was organic, it was real development in a new domestic industry that in the end was overinflated, but still produced real growth. The current bubble that is bursting was created when greenspan dropped interest rates to the floor. The fed needed some stimulus to defuse the dot com burst and the 9-11 attacks, but this was a full on sham by keeping rates low for so long. It kept job numbers looking good by creating housing and construction jobs, along with all the ancillary industries, but it was built in such a way that there was no sound foundation, just a trick with numbers. And now that it is falling apart, the government cannot hide the inflation growth and job loss anymore. I hope for the sake of America, that lessons are learned from this, but the government is still in denial. how about the next president hires a treasury secretary who he actually listens to, the current president fired his until he got a yes man in there. How did that work out.

(((((Was the Green Teletubbie responsible for the increase in turnout for the Democrat’s in Iowa? Researchers are now convinced that Hillary Clinton teamed up with liberal PBS’s “Teletubbies” during her First Lady days to brainwash toddlers into voting for her using the show that was wildly popular with toddlers as her accomplice. Those toddlers who are now 18, 19 and 20 years old were secretly programed to vote for Hillary as young adults. It seemed to have worked. 92% of those in that age group ended up voting in the caucus, up from a previous high of 16%. 90% in that age group voted for Sen Clinton, most likely accounting for the record number of Democrat voters.)))))

I’m the Caucus Jackass, but that teletubby bit, whoever wrote it, is great.
Now, lets see you run with it. Hillary planned in ‘92 to use the teletubbies to take over the country. This is great stuff. Who wrote that? What if it’s true? What if she was maniacal enough to think that far ahead? We’re in trouble if she caucused the kids then so she wouldn’t have to caucus them now. Gonna Love 08,
Distracting nuance like that is one reason I no longer play in this liberal sandbox, but I will this last time.
You’re right the people voted to end the one party government of big spending hypocritical republicrats. However might people still agree with Nancy Pelosi when in Dec. of ‘98 she said ‘Saddam Hussein has been developing WMD’s and has made a mockery of the inspection process’? Something must have changed Nancy’s mind, politics maybe?
I hope most people are smart enough to see the media manipulated them into thinking contained men corrupt humanitarian programs and have willfully ignored the thousands of humanitarian acts of our troops. However, they might not be able to maintain their objective coverage until the election.
It is sad when the Iraqis are the only ones seeing the true nature of our military; “The Awakening is now operating all across Iraq and involving all sects. We will continue chasing Al-Qaeda. We have no enemies except Al-Qaeda. The Americans are not our enemy anymore. Our forces will deal exclusively with Al-Qaeda. We will hunt them until we get rid of the last element.”

Gonna Love 08, Bush made the decision to enforce UN Resolutions through force because thirteen years got nowhere. Not only that, but it forced Al-Qaeda to fight on two fronts while they are on the run. Granted we are constantly told we are distracted from fighting those that attacked us. However, it is never metioned that maybe it also distracted Al-Qaeda from attacking their enemy, America.
Didn’t you like how that Sunni Leader said America is no longer their enemy, but Al-Qaeda is. You know I could swear Bush said something about creating a true ally in the heart of the middle East.
Sorry, the fact that you will be satisfied when those responsible are caught is exactly what scares me. I dont agree at all with what you said. Again you try to blame the other party for causing trouble in the Middle East. You want to see who is to blame take a look at what Reagan did when he was in charge. Most of his failed policies are what caused the problems we have today. What scares me is you think that not abiding by UN resolutions was an excuse to attack Iraq. I thought the reason was the WMD we couldnt find. Just like Bush you now want to change the reason why we attacked Iraq. Why didnt we attack Cuba? They have had a ruthless dicator for over 45 years. Its a shame you still think Iraq was a threat. Name one time when they attacked our country? You cant. I dont care what the Suni leader said. You shower enough money on someone and they are your friend for life. Like the Taliban was our friend in the 80’s when we were showering money on them…

While the liberals has been practicing their tunnel vision in the Iowa caucuses, elections are also pending in Iran.
(((Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani, provisional Friday prayer leader of Iran, asked parliamentary election candidates Jan. 4 at Tehran University to adhere to electoral ethics throughout the campaigning period so severe disputes do not occur in Iranian cities and provincial capitals. His comments came two days after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei asked the public during a nationally televised speech not to show support for candidates by “destroying, insulting and accusing others.”)))
(((The clerics have good reason to be worried about the coming elections, since they comes while Iran is in the middle of negotiations with the United States. These negotiations could allow Tehran to consolidate its influence in Iraq and perhaps even lead to a rapprochement of sorts with Washington. The Iranian foreign policy initiatives will impact the outcome of the elections, and vice-versa.)))
(((Factional tensions within the Iranian cleric-dominated system during elections are not new. What is new is an alignment of pragmatic conservatives led by the country’s No. 2 man, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, and former President Mohammed Khatami’s system-loyal reformists oppose President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s ultraconservatives. This leaves Khamenei and the top clerics scrambling to reach a consensus.)))
Scrambling? I like that term. Reminds me of how all the liberals are scrambling from this dem candidate to that dem candidate and back again.
There’s a lot going on in the Middle East. Liberals need to come in out of that tunnel and see the light of day.

I doubt the Republican nominee will carry Iowa in November. Better?
If you think you can predict a Presidential election that’s over ten months away you may have mixed those martinis a little strong. In fact three months away is still too far out there. Just ask former Presidents Kerry and Dukakis if you don’t believe me.
For you Survivor fans out there your worst nightmare is back on the “favorites” team
