Why are you libs afraid to share this message with the American people?
{{{Lt. Jason Nichols and Staff Sergeant Dave Thul, from their respective posts in Baghdad and Al Asad, coordinated an online petition that so far has been signed by 2,843 Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard military personnel members.}}}
{{{Yesterday it was received by Republican members of the House and Senate. The petition, called “Appeal for Courage,” reads:}}}
{{{As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The War in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.}}}
For showing more courage and maturity than all of the “leaders” of the country you fight for, we salute You.
You are the true Americans, what this great country is all about.

How cheap is this cartoon^^, they are getting desperate, aren’t they?
So I guess Dustin Hoffman is one of those awful fa-g-gots, huh mikey, he did cross dress for a whole movie, a movie I remember that America was quite fond of.
Alas, those were the days before liberals bashed transvestites and rampaged against homosexuality, geez.

{{{Ads featuring 3 generals rip Bush on Iraq-Yay! Urinal<——disgusting lib propaganda meant to blunt the message of the soldiers in Iraq, see below}}}
They got three retired generals, the same guys that couldn’t win the Iraq war, we have 2,843 Soldiers in Iraq:
{{{Meanwhile, in the real world, members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars presented to two Republican congressional leaders a petition signed by 2,843 current and former troops who say they believed full funding of the Iraq war is the only way to defeat terrorists and prevent them from attacking U.S. soil again. Wallace said the petition’s organizers, Navy Lt. Jason Nichols of Florida, and Army Staff Sgt. David Thule, a member of the Minnesota National Guard, are both stationed in Iraq and decided the petition was the best way to show congressional leaders that the Iraq war is the right fight and that the troops need Congress’ support to complete their mission. “He said we are winning the people and people need to know that,” Wallace said.}}}
So who do the libs side up with, the Men on the ground in Iraq or the bitter old whining has been sniveling Cowards?

That’s a tough doctrine to overcome, especially when Western diplomats are seen as infidel “cross-worshippers” and “Jewish pigs” deserving of death.}}}
You ever wonder why a pinko liberal will ridicule a Christian because they believe in the Virgin Birth but the lib never says one word about beliefs such as these^^?

{{{NASA predicts scorcher for Atlanta!!!! Shriek!!!! Wail!!!!}}}
What, next week?
{{{If climate trends continue, the top daily summer temperature could average 110 degrees by the ——->2080s.<———}}}
2080?
Huh, I’ll be sure to mark the calender.
2080 kind of looks like 2008, don’t it, want to bet they did that intentionally?
Geez, this isn’t a scare tactic?
From the same people that can’t launch or land a shuttle without killing a bunch of people in a huge ball of fire? We are supposed to trust them with our weather now?
And give them more federal funding on top of what they waste every year?
You liberals are suckers, absolute saps.

American pundits and politicians who say we should change our foreign policies to win the European popularity contest ought to be feeling a little embarrassed too.-Fred Thompson, Your Next President}}}
The sniveling Coward liberals have NEVER been right about ANYTHING.
It is all a wave of stupid mindless emotion to them, totally without reason.
Good news is, we are snapping out of the stupidity of liberalism:
{{{The refusal by the French people to bow to this political extortion should be recognized and cheered. They have not only sent a message to anti-democratic forces inside and outside their borders, I believe they are telling us something even more important. We are beginning, I think, to see our old friends and allies put aside disagreements and rivalries to do what has to be done. It has been a long road, but the forces of civilization and order are beginning to understand that we are in a global struggle against the forces of death and destruction.}}}

re: troops’ “Petition” — how the heck would they even know that the war they’re fighting “is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack?” They just do what they’re told. They’re parroting the party line.
As it’s been shown many a time, the war in Iraq has not made us safer. If only the surge was done in Afghanistan, then we’d be much better off and our soldiers would actually be fighting to protect our country instead of getting butchered in day-to-day violence by people who don’t want us there. Doing the minimum in Afghanistan, letting Iran and North Korea power up while putting the blinders on Iraq - those are the true failures of this administration.
Keeping bin Laden and his cronies alive has been big business for the Bush administration. Why else would he have stopped short in Afghanistan and turned his attention to Iraq? Explain that LuckoDull - this time without your usual spin and insults.

I was just wondering if any of the conservatives here watched Bill O’Reilly’s segment with Wesley Clark last night.
It was another Geraldo/O’Reilly match.
It started out O.K., until O’Reilly asked Clark if he knew anything about George Soros since Clark had accepted $75,000.00 from MoveOn.Org.
Clark, with a smile, said that Soros had done some wonderful things to promote democracy in other countries. O’Reilly pointed out Soros’ stance in support of “euthanasia”’ “legalizing drugs”; his “felony convictions” in France; his “tampering” with world economies that have hindered progress. His “One World Order”.
Clark’s response was unbelievably weak. It was hypocritical. He became rather indignant when O’Reilly put his feet to the fire.
He (Clark) accepts money from a man whose policies for America and the world are destructive, but takes George Bush to task for his policies in Iraq.
That guy, Clark just ain’t too bright is he?

Answer one question for me, quizzy, so we can establish what a political goony you are:
What do you think of the opinions of those 3 generals, the ones that couldn’t beat the insurgency when they had the chance?
I thought so.
1) Our soldiers are ON THE GROUND talking to the people of Iraq, hearing about how they want to live in freedom.
2) They see the devastation and murder caused by the terrorists first hand, and like any normal human being that isn’t a sniveling Coward liberal, I’m sure it disgusts them.

Bill-O is trying really hard to paint some sort of conspiracy theory with George Soros. Is he a big donor to political causes…of course he is. I mean, the man has money. But this is no different than the overwhelming amount of funding by huge corporations and capitalists of right-wing think tanks like the Manhattan Institute or the Heritage Foundation.
Also, Wesley Clark is extremely intelligent. The man was a Rhodes Scholar, as well as the former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO.

Once again - al Qaeda staying alive is good business for Bush & Cheney. Allows him to fight the wrong war in Iraq when it was proven that no al Qaeda was in Iraq before this war.

Hope you read LUCKODULL’s review of the news because it is very good.
First he mentions a petition from over 2800 troops in Baghdad asking Congress not to hinder their efforts in Iraq. YES!
Then he states his reason for disliking this sorry cartoon. Indeed!
Then he wonders why retired generals try to run the war as opposed to those fighting in Iraq now. Yes!
Then he mentions the publicized heat wave emphasizing the arrival date was shown to be SEVENTY THREE YEARS from now. Hot stuff!!!
Then he is happy that the French have elected a pro-American president and believes that Europe is becoming more understanding of American policies. VIVE LA FRANCE!
I think Luckodull is very supportive of this country and wants all Americans to appreciate their citizenship. I can agree with that goal. YES!

This is my last post for the day. I had only planned on making one about the cartoon.
Bill O’Reilly agreed with Clark regarding Iraq. Bill O’Reilly supports the surge. Clark, if I’m correct, wants the troops home NOW.
People like George Soros need “useful tools” to put his “One World Order” in motion. Take notice of the word “One”. Who’s is gonna have the greatest influence?
Bill Clinton was a Rhodes scholar. He, too became quite indignant when asked why he didn’t stop Bin Laden when given the opportunity. The only difference between Clinton and Clark is that Clark didn’t “slobber” (literally) during his outrage.
So if you want me to be impressed because Clark didn’t “slobber” during his indignation, I can do that. But I’ll bet you a dime to doughnuts he had to change his underwear in the nearest restroom.
I hope you have a good day steve-o. I’m betting you won’t though. You’re underwear is “see-through”.

AND OH! THE RADICAL THINKING!
…We went to war on false pretences. The real reasons for going into Iraq have not been revealed to this day. The weapons of mass destruction could not be found, and the connection with al Qaeda could not be established. President Bush then claimed that we went to war to liberate the people of Iraq. All my experience in fostering democracy and open society has taught me that democracy cannot be imposed by military means.

The world laughs at the Lewinsky scandal because of our reaction to the whole thing here in American. To many foreigners, it’s weird that a leader can be impeached for lying about a sexual affair.

DDR,
When the Nazis occupied Budapest in 1944, George Soros’ father was a successful lawyer. He lived on an island in the Danube and liked to commute to work in a rowboat. But knowing there were problems ahead for the Jews, he decided to split his family up. He bought them forged papers and he bribed a government official to take 14-year-old George Soros in and swear that he was his Christian godson. But survival carried a heavy price tag. While hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews were being shipped off to the death camps, George Soros accompanied his phony godfather on his appointed rounds, confiscating property from the Jews.

The Pope is touring Latin America. Right now he’s in Brazil, lecturing on the sanctity of life. Well, certain stages of life anyway. In a country plagued by poverty and overpopulation, his top priority is making sure every fetus gets to be born.
Once they’ve been born, a lot of Brazilian children live their entire lives on the street. They make good scapegoats for the country’s problems, and thousands of these children have been tortured and murdered by death squads and corrupt police departments.
Aren’t these murders just as horrifying as abortion? As far as whether these already-born children are as sacred as fetuses, the Pope said…let’s see, what did he say…hmmm…he didn’t say anything…

More on the despicable George Soros -
According to records filed with the Internal Revenue Service, Soros’s foundation, the Open Society Institute, or OSI, gave $20,000 in September 2002 to the Lynne Stewart Defense Committee…Stewart’s legal troubles stemmed from her defense of Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, sometimes known as the Blind Sheikh. Rahman led an Egyptian-based terrorist organization known as the Islamic Group…at her trial, the government produced evidence showing that Stewart and two codefendants on a number of occasions used their privileged access to Rahman to help transmit Rahman’s orders to his followers in the Islamic Group.

I wonder why General Batiste has changed his tune?
John Batiste, a retired Army major general who also joined in the call for Mr. Rumsfeld’s resignation, described the Congressional proposals for troop withdrawals as “terribly naïve.”
{{{“There are lots of things that have to happen to set them up for success,” General Batiste, who commanded a division in Iraq, said in an interview, describing the Iraqi government. “Until they happen, it does not matter what we tell Maliki.”}}
{{Before considering troop reductions, General Batiste said, the United States needs to take an array of steps, including fresh efforts to alleviate unemployment in Iraq, secure its long and porous borders, enlist more cooperation from tribal sheiks, step up the effort to train Iraq’s security forces, engage Iraq’s neighbors and weaken, or if necessary, crush the militias.
Indeed, General Batiste has recently written that pending the training of an effective Iraqi force, it may be necessary to deploy tens of thousands of additional “coalition troops.” General Batiste said he hoped that Arab and other foreign nations could be encouraged to send troops.}}}

Soros: “Well, of course, … I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was — well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in the markets — that is I weren’t there — of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would - would — would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the — whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the — I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.”
KROFT: In what way?
SOROS: That one should think ahead. One should understand and — and anticipate events and when — when one is threatened. It was a tremendous threat of evil. I mean, it was a — a very personal experience of evil.
KROFT: My understanding is that you went out with this protector of yours who swore that you were his adopted godson.
SOROS: Yes. Yes.
KROFT: Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.

steve-o,
I don’t believe in “apology resolutions”. I don’t believe in meaningless gestures of collective guilt.
Specifically in regard to slavery, men fought and died in the Civil War. That bloodshed speaks for itself, and no apologies are needed.
I believe that we are responsible for our own actions, and should experience guilt for what we actually do in our own lives that disturbs our own conscience.
Accepting guilt for something one had nothing to do with is a cheap way of absolving oneself of guilt for actions we actually have do control over and should accept responsibility for.

I understand that he had little choice in the matter, but that does not mean that it shouldn’t weigh on his conscience.
I also find it terribly troubling that he blames the Jews for anti-Semitism, particularly in light of his past. If he can blame the Jews, surely he can accept some blame himself for his own actions. There is something sociopathic about this “reasoning”.

McKay said he began to have concerns about politics entering the Justice Department in early 2005, when Gonzales addressed all of the country’s U.S. attorneys in Scottsdale, Ariz., shortly after he took over as attorney general.
“His first speech to us was a ‘you work for the White House’ speech,” McKay recalled. ” ‘I work for the White House, you work for the White House.’ “
McKay said he thought at the time, “He couldn’t have meant that speech,” given the traditional independence of U.S. Attorneys. “It turns out he did.”
He looked around the meeting room and caught the eyes of his colleagues, who gave him looks of surprise at Gonzales’ remarks. “We were stunned at what he was saying.”

And Bernie Kerik. There is no circumstance under which a politician with any sense of vulnerability or accountability or merely the need to maintain a sense of appearances hires Bernie Kerik (no less as the police commissioner)… Let’s not even get into the nature of Rudy’s tolerance for whatever Kerik was into, and just focus on Rudy’s sense of impunity—he’s got no sense of caution. (A likely implosion point for the Rudy campaign is Kerik’s anticipated trial for tax fraud and providing false information to federal authorities when he was vetted for the job of homeland-security chief, which Rudy sponsored him for.) steve-o, I have no problem with anyone of color regardless of the color. What I have issues with is someone wanting an apology from me for something I had nothing to do with.
You claim ”This is about the GOVERNMENT of the STATE OF GEORGIA apologizing for atrocities, before and after emancipation, that were committed LEGALLY UNDER THEIR WATCH.”
Sorry steve-o, today’s Government of the State of Georgia owes you nothing more than it owes any of it citizens. Today’s State did not enslave you or anyone else. You were never a slave, you are due nothing!
And don’t blame the ” Brutal conditions that back then have hindered the progress” for the lack of drive, desire, education or ability of some of the people today regardless of color.

Actually I agree with both having a “Confederate History Month” (actually a week would be better), and at the same time a State of Georgia apology for it’s part in slavery and the Jim Crow laws.
Quite a few of my relatives fought in the Civil War. Their service and deaths to the early years of this country should be honored. They fought for good causes.
My ancestors owned slaves, no doubt about it — And I do believe that this matter should make absolutly no difference on modern times as those days are now long in the past.
But Georgia should make an apology if for nothing else a “good will gesture” of healing from those days. The other thing is it should be done because it would acknowledge an event in the past that we never want repeated again.
If we don’t accept the past and learn from the past then we can truly have no future…

steve-o,
I don’t believe in “apology resolutions”.
Accepting guilt for something one had nothing to do with is a cheap way of absolving oneself of guilt for actions we actually have do control over and should accept responsibility for.}}}

steve-o, An apology from someone not directly involved is just a patronizing gesture. If you are so shallow that this will make you feel better, then fine. I apologize for my ancestors owning your ancestors. Feel better?
If you have to ask for an apology then I doubt that the person (state) doing the apologizing is very sincere.

There are no good reasons to oppose a national apology for slavery and plenty of good ones to support it. We would all reap enormous national and international rewards from such a goodwill gesture. The Republican Party would perhaps reap the most. An official apology would offer the party the opportunity to reclaim the mantle of the party of Lincoln by forging a new relationship with African Americans, one not clouded by the spectacle of Willie Horton or Trent Lott. And it would do immeasurable good in terms of improving race relations. Best of all, it wouldn’t cost a cent. That’s a pretty good deal all around.

Things are going so well in Iraq that members of the administration can’t announce their visits in advance. Or allow their children into the country.
Reporters had pressed Cheney staffers for days about whether he would go to Iraq on the current trip. The staffers never denied it outright, but didn’t tell the reporters accompanying Cheney until after Air Force Two had lifted off from Andrews Air Force Base. Not all of Cheney’s aides made the trip — some staffers, including his daughter Liz, flew separately to the United Arab Emirates.

By Dick Morris, Bush Apologist
“I think that withdrawal from Iraq — it obviously gives al Qaeda a huge victory. Huge victory. On the other hand, if we stay in Iraq, it gives them the opportunity to kill more Americans, which they really like.
One of the things, though, that I think the antiwar crowd has not considered is that, if we’re putting the Americans right within their arms’ reach, they don’t have to come to Wall Street to kill Americans. They don’t have to knock down the trade center. They can do it around the corner, and convenience is a big factor when you’re a terrorist.”

There are some interesting statements in this week’s issue of US News and World Report, which I consider a relatively conservative magazine, although I’m sure andi, Granny, or rw would say they’re part of the liberal media. Either way, US News is far more credible than the ridiculous smut they cite. If any of them had a semblance of an education they’d know that.
Anyway, here’s the first one: “Iraq has, of course, been an undeniable boon for al Qaeda, both as a battleground and a rallying cause.” So gw has us fighting in Iraq to combat terrorism? Uh-huh.
Where’s the new problem spot? According to the article, Pakistan, where al Qaeda is regrouping under the leadership of Bin Laden. So let’s see, w allows Bin Laden to go free into Pakistan, and then he attacks Iraq, which helps to bolster al Qaeda and propagate terrorism. He has to be either the dumbest “president” in history or a terrorist himself. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and go with the first option.

I thought the tax cuts were draining the government of resources.
WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal revenue collections hit an all-time high in April, contributing to a further improvement in the budget deficit for the year. Releasing its monthly budget report, the Treasury Department said Thursday that through the first seven months of this budget year, the deficit totals $80.8 billion, significantly below the $184.1 billion imbalance run up during the first seven months of the 2006 budget year. So far this year, tax revenues total $1.505 trillion, an increase of 11.2 percent over the same period last year. That figure includes $383.6 billion collected in April, the largest monthly tax collection on record.

The Cowards do battle with fake Andy and fake “global warming,” so brave, so courageous:
{{{The question is particularly acute, Republicans say, because the intelligence agencies are already stretched by the war on terror. Citing Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, Hoekstra added, “Do we really want to start diverting resources from those threats to global warming?” Hoekstra and other Republicans worry that Democrats want to return intelligence policy to a time in the 1990s when the Clinton administration established what was known as the DCI Environmental Center within the CIA. The Center used satellite spying resources to track environmental matters. “They took pictures of volcanoes and sea turtle nests and took air samples of air pollution, as opposed to checking for traces of biological or chemical weapons, and it was all done at the behest of Al Gore,” says one Republican knowledgeable about intelligence affairs.}}}

It’s not a GOP or Dem issue, it’s about decency. It’s about people who actually went through hell as recently as 40 years ago being paid some sort of respect. It would be a symbolic gesture. As far as a toehold for reparations, are you crazy? Do you really think that would happen? Funding PeachCare for Kids is controversial enough.
One thing with race relations between whites and blacks in this country is that a lot of whites don’t really understand the magnitude of the damage that slavery and Jim Crow did to black households, and also a lot of blacks are way too distrustful of whites, no matter their background or beliefs. I think something like an apology from the State will open up dialogue among people, which is a good thing.

Do you know what the phrase “a grain of truth” means? Probably not so I’ll explain. There are some that believe they could use an apology to advance the idea of reparations and virtually no chance they would be successful. Got it?
Do you know why was this not an issue AT ALL until Republicans controlled the full scope of the Georgia government? Probably not so I’ll explain. It is being pushed as a wedge issue by Democrats to paint Republicans as racists. It’s as simple as that. If Republicans were more political and less principled they would just pass your little symbolism act on move on to whatever atrocity you want to demonize them for next.

It appears as though they’re going to have to be patient. Businesses are part of the equation, and they’re making demands.
(((The vast majority of the proposals floating around Capitol Hill will not emerge from committee and few, if any, will pass both houses of Congress. The bills are serving their purpose, however, as more and more companies are coming together to demand a single coherent policy.)))

It makes them do things like this as well.
Then Sebelius explained the path to her comments. After Brownback told her that he was very disappointed in her, She pleaded “You know me Sam, I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t have to.” She declared “Howard (Dean) called me around 5 o’clock (in the morning) and told me not to ask The White House for any help or make any statements until I heard back. Dick (Durban?) called me an hour or 2 later and that’s when he told me we needed to use this ‘n’ said to talk about the Guard all bein’ at war.”
I also read the transcript of Obama 10,000 dead “mistake.” There is no way it was a mistake based on the context of the rest of his speech. These people are shameless and downright dangerous.

RW,
I hope Brownback doesn’t try too hard for “comity”!
I think these Dems are just going around threatening and blackmailing people.
For example, I’m very suspicious about General Batiste’s motives. Why the sudden flip? Why not just ask for a private meeting with Bush or Secy Gates? Why go so far as to make a MoveOn.org funded ad that contradicts your own statements many of which have been put in place by Petreus unless you have a virtual gun at your head? Of course a big financial payoff could explain it too, just like Gen. Weaselly Clark got.
Remember when Scott Ritter flipped? I’m convinced Someone had dirt on him and told him to do it or else. He also got a financial payoff.
