{{{“I don’t care what the polls say, I believe deep down Americans know what’s at stake,” Rudy Giuliani said, with his fist to his heart. “We have to deal with the reality of the threat we face. We cannot allow our country to go into denial about the Islamic terrorist threat, the extreme radical threat against America.” He was unwavering in his support for a continued U.S. presence in Iraq, and did not hesitate to link it to the broader War on Terror (or, as he recasts it, “the war of terrorists against us”). “If you have to figure out where America should be, you ask yourself right now, in Baghdad, in Anbar, in other parts of Iraq, what is the desire of Al Qaeda terrorists? What do they want?” Giuliani asked rhetorically before answering his own question. “They want to drive us out. Maybe, just maybe, that should help you figure out what we should do.”}}}

It’s time for a new cartoon already. Get to work ML! Maybe you can find some more scary monsters to draw.
Currently, the Kansas National Guard has 88 percent of its forces available, 60 percent of its Army Guard dual-use equipment on hand, and more than 85 percent of its Air Guard equipment on hand, said Randal Noller, public affairs officer for the National Guard Bureau. Under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, which is a national partnership agreement that allows state-to-state assistance during governor or federally declared emergencies, Kansas has more than 400,000 Guardsmen available to it, he pointed out.

I wonder if the Democrat Governor of Kansas has Presidential aspirations? Maybe she’s standing on the sidelines to jump in when Hillary implodes?
How else to explain these willful falsehoods and shameful politicking, which Useful Idiots like ML eat up?:
A shortage of trucks, helicopters and other equipment — all sent to the war in Iraq — has hampered recovery in a U.S. town obliterated by a tornado, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius said on Monday./”There is no doubt at all that this will slow down and hamper the recovery,” Sebelius, a Democrat, told Reuters in Kansas, where officials said the statewide death toll had risen to 12 on Monday./”Not having this equipment in place all over the state is a huge handicap,” Sebelius said.

What ever happened to a governor’s ability to be resourceful? They’re short a couple of transport trucks and humvees. Stick it to the local transport companies and auto dealers.

Unlike the pseudo problem that the Democrat Governor of Kansas has dreamed up (no doubt with the assistance of Democrat operatives), this is an absolute disgrace, and is on topic since it involves a member of our Army Reserves:
Walter’s Army Reserve unit was located in Rockville, Maryland, a four hour drive from his home. His once a month weekend reserve drill obligation began on Friday afternoon and ended on late Sunday, which meant that he would miss a couple of class sessions. He went to Zoelle’s office and offered to produce a letter from his commanding officer authenticating his absence. “It’s not my fault that you have a reserve obligation,” Zoelle replied, adding that she would not excuse his absences. She also refused Walter’s request to turn in assignments due Mondays early before he departed for drill, or to let him hand them in when he returned. She said that he would be given a “0” for class participation and class assignments./Walter received a “D” for the class, which he was forced to repeat, thus giving him even more lost time to make up. He went to the chairman of the department who threw up her hands and said, “It’s her class, not mine.” He also went to the Bloomsburg administration (which refused to comment for this article) and was stonewalled there as well…

Just one problem: Iglesias, a captain in the Navy Reserve, was off teaching classes as part of the war on terror. Now Iglesias is striking back, arguing he was improperly dismissed.

BD, Your 9:17 is less factual than what the Kansas governor has said. Reserve drills are on Saturdays and Sundays; normally 8:00 am until 4:00pm. It is not necessary to attend all drills, however, within the course of a year a number of drills are required. This guy could have rearranged his drills. If he could turn his work in early, why couldn’t he turn it in on Monday (he would be home by 8:00 or 9:00 Sunday evening)? It sounds like he is looking for an excuse not to do his school work then trying to blame the school. This situation is entirely avoidable; he created his own problem just to get troll juice.

Cindy, That article is typical neo-con trash, blame the liberal professor, and academia is for sissys, etc. There are plenty of soldiers who come back and finish out their college careers with the same dignity and grace as they served. I’d like to see this soldier’s service record, probably very similar to the cowardice as he portrays in civilian life - if this is an actual true story at all. It reads like a Fascist propoganda sheet to me.
But you made a very good observation earlier.
Isn’t it so funny how the hypocritical neo-cons will tell former soldiers here on this blog that served this country they are cowards if they dissent about the war, but will back up a soldier who is being a little baby about schoolwork. This guy, like I said, if it’s real, has some entitlement issues — the old “I served my country, so that gives the the right to do anything I want for the rest of my life” attitude….sad. Very sad.

Those types, and trolls like BD and Andy, can’t or didn’t make in in the academic world, so they have no choice but to bash it. Did you get this statement from the “heck of a job” Brownie handbook?
“Call me old fashioned but I think it is far more reprehensible to whine over something you have no control over instead of doing what ever you can to immediately render aid and assistance to those who desperately need it.”
I would not call you old fashioned. Just short sighted, stingy and easily manipulated. Not to mention, when you look in the dictionary under whining they have your picture and samples of your posts here every day.
Immediate aid was rendered. It could have been done faster and better if the full resources of the National Guard were available.
Did you support Sean Penn’s attempt to give immediate aid in New Orleans? Or did you whine about it?
The American people have the “can do” attitude. No doubt about it.
They showed it last November. They show it every day - as evidenced by the growing number of Republicans who are joining them in their effort to end the illegal war for oil in Iraq.
Your fear of being proved wrong, your paralyzing fear of being shown as the follower you are is evident in everything you post. The sniveling little cowards are now and have always been sitting in their dens at their computer keyboards fighting the war in complete cowardly safety.
Your daily screeds are just plain ridiculous. Like the Unibombers’ manifesto. Cho’s writings. The product of an obviously deeply disturbed individual.
The Republican party would not have you either. They are busily trying to save their butts and the last thing they need is another nut.

Why do you lie about things?
“”In September 2005, Penn traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to aid Hurricane Katrina victims. He was physically involved in rescuing[3] many people. One man was 73-year-old John Brown, who had told his sister over the phone: “Guess who come and got me out of the house? Sean Penn, the actor. The boys were really nice.” The actor then gave some rescuees an unspecified amount of money to tide them over, and then took those who were in need of medical attention to the hospital. He was and is supported by best-selling author Douglas Brinkley, a professor of history at Tulane University and archival historian for the city. The two were seen on CNN coverage Friday, September 2, as Penn, filthy, soaked, and exhausted, gave an impromptu interview about what he was seeing and doing, and obviously critical of the response until that time, stating that at that time he felt there was only “about one-fifth” the assistance and resources there that needed to be.”“

Well obviously the true test will be how quickly the Kansas disaster is “Actually” dealt with and repaired.
1) Is FEMA actually going to do a good job this time?
2) Is the lack of National guard, and equipment going to delay things and by how much?
3) Will the money be available to assist in cleanup and recovery?
Check back in 3 months and see if this administration does better than the failures of what they did at the Big Easy!~

Oh and Andy =-

Excerpt From Danish’s Poor Student Atricle:
Walter had crossed swords with Zoelle during his first year at Bloomsburg in 2003. A one time visiting professor at the Institute for Peace Studies at Notre Dame University who made no secret of her liberal views, she had she asked this exam question: Why Is the War in Iraq Morally Wrong? A fellow student of Walter who was also in the military and about to be deployed to Iraq, answered in effect that it wasn’t and got a “D.”
Dr. Zoelle Says:She said that she has never used a test question about the Iraq war. She said that the closest thing she can think of is a question a few years ago in which she asked students to analyze an essay in which a scholar suggested that the United States has a double standard on human rights. Students needed to summarize and comment on the scholar’s argument. Zoelle said that students had to explain what this scholar was saying — before they either endorsed or criticized it. She noted that this is a common pedagogical tool. “You have to explain what the argument is before you discuss it.” Zoelle said that students were not graded based on their view of the argument, only their ability to explain and comment on it. She said she would gladly have explained this to Horowitz had he ever called. “I think this is just a desperate attempt on his part to try to make a point,” she said. “It’s really childish.” Horowitz, asked why he couldn’t document more of the cases of students being hurt — the basis of his movement — said: “Why do I have to run around the country finding these kids?” (http://www.listproc.bucknell.edu/archives/teaching/200612/msg00004.html)
It may be a “he said - she said” deal.
But I think we didn’t get the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

The sniveling Cowards have a new idea, drum roll please:
{{{House Democratic leaders planned to brief party members Tuesday on new legislation that would fund the Iraq war through July, then give Congress the option of cutting off money after that if conditions do not improve.}}}
Gosh, that almost fooled us.
{{{White House spokesman Tony Snow on Tuesday called the approach “just bad management.”}}}
{{{Democrats “should not treat our men and women in uniform like they are children who are getting a monthly allowance,” said Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, his party’s leader.}}}
Coming from the same country as the liberals do is starting to become really embarrassing.
Are there any adult liberals nearby?

LuckoDull,
I’ve been laughing at the Lukovich cartons for 20 years. He has blasted all political parties, races, celebrities, etc. over the years. I guess there are just too many opportunities to pass up due to the current white house gang.
Talk about calling the kettle black.
Your quote “Your whining sounds ridiculous to those of us who don’t have their heads up our political party’s a-ss” is a classic. All GOP supporters have their heads up their party’s a* as well as their own a*. And to think you people still drive around with your Bush/Cheney stickers on your cars. Do you have no shame?
All you do is twist facts and blame Dems for the GOP screwups. I guess you just sit around and listen to the blowhard liars on Fox news and Rush Limbaugh.
You, like the rest of the Bush supporters, never have an original idea. You never defend him because he’s done nothing that you can defend.
If Bush doesn’t get impeached, he most surely will be indicted for something once he leaves office.
YOU will hate 08. The GOP may not even exist once the current administration finishes their term in office.
Since you are such a staunch backer of the war in Iraq, why don’t you go over there and fight? Or send one of your kids?

{{DDR, Why is deploying national guard troops from one State to another a “political molotov cocktail? Hmmmmmmm?}}
Danish: Here’s the complete statement: Now PERHAPS IN THE SPIRIT OF BI-PARTISIAN COLLABORATION a Republican Governor from say Arkansas can help with the clean up by in Kansas by releasing some of their guard troops; however, looking at the political molotov cocktail that we embroiled in today, I seriously doubt it.
You know as well as I that there is no such thing these days as Bi-partisan collaboration!! Even in a crisis, I doubt that our government can come together for a common good. Sad. But true.

While you idiots have your girly heads buried in the ‘morality’ of Iraq, the tax code and the DOW had done nothing but add vehicles to my garage. The demoncrat party made it clear during the ‘80s and ‘90s that they wanted nothing to do with me, 45 yr old white male, and as a result the rest of my group circled the wagons and sucked more dimes out of this place than you have yet to imagine. The bottom line is that NOTHING in your link explains why the professor could not or would not accommodate the Iraq veteran, National Guard student.
DDR.
I bet a gazillion mangoes that the Governor of Arkansas would not turn down a request by the Governor of Kansas because of political polarization. Indeed it would be political suicide to do so.
Here is an example of how cooperative the Guard units are, regarding sending troops to the Mexican border:
PHILLIPS: Well, do you think that you’ll be able to bring in troops from other states to help, not just border states?/BLUM: Oh, absolutely. I’ve already received calls from neighboring governors and governors as far away as New England and the northwestern part of our country. The Guard is family. When you call out the Guard, you call out America. And every time the Guard is called out, all of the other National Guards around the country want to know what they can do to make the unit successful that’s being activated. {{{1) You think that most Americans want to be defeated by Al Qaeda despite what my article says.}}}
Huh?
{{{2) You believe that the majority of Americans would enjoy being dhimmis, living under Islamic rule.}}}
What? It is well known that liberals advocate the separation of church and state. How is advocating for religion not to be a factor in government in line with wanting an Islamist government?
{{{3) You don’t see attacks like 9/11 as that big a deal, we could withstand 2 or 3 a year, no problem.}}}
Yeah, obviously I like to see burning towers with thousands of people dying in them. You fuucking douchebag.

Yes, because I want to see my family member in the service come home in pine boxes. Again, you are a fuucking douchebag.
{{{5) All of the above.}}}
Huh?
You are a complete idiot. What makes you think that liberals advocate for any of the bullshiit that you just posted? News about the plot to attack Fort Dix is all over the place. But it’s hard not to be skeptical given how many times we’ve lived through “PLOT TO ATTACK!!!!!” only to find out it never lived up to its billing. The Carpetbagger Report gives a skeptic’s attention to this one. First, it’s worth noting that today’s success was due to intelligence gathering and law-enforcement efforts — the very techniques the Bush White House has consistently ridiculed as ineffective in counterterrorism. For that matter, as Steve M. noted, “[A]pparently no warrantless wiretapping led to these arrests, no torture of suspects in overseas prisons, nothing liberals have objected to in the Patriot Act. Remember that when you’re told that these arrests prove that we can’t trust liberals and Democrats.”

Thomas the Talking Twit,
Nothing of substance was debunked. Horowitz got one name confused with another but that point was not germane to the article I linked to. That was about it.
Your link goes on and on about the person who took the exam being different from the soldier, but the story I linked to explicitly states that they are two different people.
Essentially, your story, which claims to be by one of the only professors in the Country who was EVER a Republican, and is highly suspect on that claim alone, is about NOTHING.
The essential question is still unanswered:
Why is the Leftist professor unwilling to “negotiate” and “compromise” with a veteran and National Guard reservist? Isn’t “negotiating” what “Peace Studies” is all about?
BTW, if Horowitz is trying to sell books, this is the one he would be selling at this time. Indoctrination U

Obviously attempting to debate Buy Danish is like talking to a brick. It just sits there and doesn’t change or have anything useful to say.
BD - Your perfect for the Horrowitz Conservative Marxist club. No Doubt.
You apparently support his plan to literally crush free thought and ideas expressed between student and teacher.
His agenda is to make this a cut and dried marxist teaching method that leaves no room for people to have creative thought. It is a cookie cutter education that stamps out people into the job market as automatons and machines. Apparently just like you and the rest of the NeoCon clones here. No real free expression allowed!
Liberal (aka free thought) is very much a part of a real well rounded education. Not controlled political rhetoric and thought controlled from either side!
Expression of and Exposure to both liberal and conservative beliefs is a must for a well rounded education.
Horrowitless agenda and legislation proposals crush all that and make a straight and un-wavering class course that has no free thought as we must make everyone equal. I do believe that is Communist Doctrine at it’s finest.
And you - Buy Danish, - have bought all this Hook, Line, and Sinker!~
I will not discuss this issue further as it will do no good, but I will clearly state, that you have no evidence that the events described in your post ever existed. You have no proof the Guard/Student even existed as there has been no post from him at all. There is nothing other than David H’s article on his websites, and he has already been proven many times to be a liar’… There have been other times he has created fictitional people to push his “ABOR” agenda.
Proof of this article you posted - is not on my shoulders - the proof is on your post` since you presented this argument! And I won’t even ask you to prove it because I already know you can’t!
Cheers -

Everyone that notes that many people in New Orleans sat on their butts when they had every opportunity to leave isn’t a bigot.
The truth is that most of us were completely shocked when we first saw that Nagin had set the stage for them to stay by not talikng the oncoming storm seriously and leaving a yard full of school buses empty. We all gave money and assistance as we could only to be told later that we didn’t care about black people. Then the pictures started coming in from the lower 9th ward and we saw thousands of cars that also went unused. It’s not whitey’s fault a-sshole.

Buy Danish,
The fact that you would criticize poor people and lay the blame on them instead of your boy W shows just how cold and heartless you are. We all know that government failed at ALL levels in this disaster. I can admit, sadly you can’t give up the partisan banter and do the same. Is this what you teach your 12-year-old?

RW never passes up the chance to present the “robe and hood” point of view, steve-o.
By ABS
May 8, 2007 4:19 PM | Link to this
You know RW, you can blame Nagin, the Governor (I forget her name) and we can blame Bush, but the fact of the matter is…Katrina happened, it doesn’t matter who is to blame for the suffering the happened the week after it happened, the fact is, it happened, and there were people there LEFT BEHIND with no food, no water, no medicine, etc. and they had NO HELP. There was absolutely no response from anyone…state or federal. The state was washed away (LA and MISS) so when that happens, usually, the Feds step in, but what happened? Nothing…
So, it doesn’t really matter whose fault it was in the beginning, the sad reality is that it happened. Was it Nagin’s fault? Was it the Governor’s fault? Was it Bush’s fault? Who cares. We all saw what happened, and it was sickening and we will probably see the same thing happen again in Kansas.
The state’s are drained of their resources to respond to natural disasters because of our president’s insistence upon staying the course in Iraq. It is time to end this debacle so we can protect our own.

This is how liberals start their state sponsored mass murder:
{{{The paper by the Optimum Population Trust will say that if couples had two children instead of three they could cut their family’s carbon dioxide output by the equivalent of 620 return flights a year between London and New York.}}}
They are aching for a reason to gas you to death, they really think they might be on to something this time.
“Overpopulation” didn’t pan out, “food shortages” never materialized, abortion hasn’t produced the desired results.
Gaze into al Gore’s eyes the next time you see him speak, tell me, is he not crazed, much like Hitler was thinking of all those Jews?
I could be wrong, they may be banking on handing America over to Al Qaeda, but the Bush Master is screwing that up for them.
Will we go like sheep to the slaughter?
When are we going to revolt against this sinister plot?
We must act now America before it’s too late.

This is a PUBLIC blog. If you can’t stand the heat get the fuuck off of here.
Every time somebody says ANYTHING about a Katrina victim that didn’t have to be a victim you call that person a bigot. They don’t mention whether the ones that got killed and didn’t need to were black and since you claim to be black your knee jerk reaction of calling them bigots proves you’re blaming whitey.
A higher percentage of victims were white anyway, but that doesn’t fit your script and let you play little stevie victim, held down by the oppressive white man.

Steve-o,
The indisputable facts from which I logically conclude that an awful lot of people did not get off their butts and leave:
After Hurricane Katrina battered New Orleans on August 29, 2005, flood waters from Lake Pontchartrain and the intracoastal canals submerged an estimated 200,000 to 300,000 cars unused in the evacuation of the city.
Note that these statistics^^^ are from a Leftist who is arguing that there are too many cars in this country.
Thomas the talking parrot,
Horowitz is a FORMER Marxist (Red Diaper baby to be exact). Contrary to your false claims he is combating the Stalinists who chill speech.

ABS,
To say nothing happened and nobody was trying to get there is a bald faced lie.
Nagin was screaming that gangs of murderers were running wild. You can’t send aid workers into that you have to send law enforcement/national guard in first. That being said, even as Nagin was screaming to send thins in Blanco was demanding they stay out so that the people would leave.
In Mississippi where there wasn’t all that interference and misinformation aid stations and rescue crews were in much quicker. There is also the little detail that after the Hurricane passed everybody thought New Orleans had dodged the brunt of it and was going to be fine, so the plan for rescue and aid workers was redirected.
If you want to discuss this try using fact instead of whiny emotions. You’re talking to informed conservatives not a bunch of liberal parrot bobble heads that will eat up any lie you tell.

This mutherfvcker is too stupid to understand even this basic premise.
It does not take any courage to undermine the country you live in from the safety of a keyboard, none at all. Sit here all day saying that America sucks and this is a war for oil, and the rest of the world listens, thinks of us as bad people and goes out and tries to harm our soldiers.
Which country was it that freed the French, freed the Jews, freed the Koreans, didn’t ask for anything in return except for a place to bury our dead? Which country is that, stevie? All these people in the world living free because of us, why do sh-ithole Cowards like you spew about war for oil from the safety of a keyboard?
Why not tell your filthy little story at the gates of Fort Benning, huh, Coward.
You want to fight me, tell me when and where, I have no problem stomping your guts out, I would probably feel good about it.
You really want to show your courage, go tell those brave men risking their lives for your freedom that they are murderers or that they are on the front line because of oil.
Tell them that Al Qaeda is better than they are.
Telling you, telling the world, telling anyone who will listen on this blog that America is good and that America is a force in the world for freedom and democracy is not bravery it is a RESPONSIBILITY that we have as owner’s of this great nation, the debt that we owe to those who died for our freedoms, the DUTY that we have to get behind those that are risking their lives for us right now.
You are too stupid to understand these things and it is are fault for caving into liberalism.
Every stupid, mindless, misguided talking point that has been vomited from your mouth was taught to you by a liberal, someone that hates America and infests our public school system.
Someday, when reason overcomes your emotions you too will understand.

Let’s go back to the beginning of Steve-o’s angry outburst, which he speciously claims is not based on his own prejudices:
{{{I mean you must be really proud to pick on people with no means to get out of a desperate situation.
Is that what you told your 12 year old when they showed a dead old woman in a wheel chair at the convention center?
Did you tell your son that when they showed a man going into insulin shock with the guys around him pleading for him to live?
Do you tell your son to scorn less fortunate people?
You never fail to amaze me. You claim to have compassion for Iraqis, but for your own countrymen, all you have is scorn. You’re a true patriotic American.}}}
steve-o,
This began when I noted that the same people who are being hard nosed martinets about an Iraq War Vet and Army Reservist who is getting his education make excuse after excuse for the ABLE-BODIED and CAR OWNING residents of NOLA who did not leave despite the means and ample warning.
Do you understand that analogy?
You claim to have compassion for everyone (except conservatives, but I digress) yet you and your friends have ZERO compassion for one of our soldiers, and think the America hating proFessor is perfectly within her “rights” to give that soldier an unnecessarily hard time.
Tell me again who is the compassionate one here?

LuckoDork,
Do you realize that most Americans hold an unfavorable view of the Iraq War? I mean, you come here everyday…you haven’t learned that yet?
I’m not calling the troops fanatics. In fact, I support the troops, which is why I opposed the war in the first place. Incopetent and unethical leaders like Dick and Bush put our troops in harms way in a pointless and illegal war and occupation with no plan. Is that how we treat men and women with the courage to fight for us? Do we take their trust for granted and place them in the midst of chaos with no plan? It is downright sick and immoral what Bush and his administration have done to this military.
Also, you throw “coward” around very liberally. Why aren’t you enlisted? I mean you claim to be brave and patriotic…why aren’t you fighting.
You see, during WWII, everybody made huge sacrifices and many enlisted, no matter their background. This war is different. We’re told by Bush that we don’t have to make any sacrifices. When people ask questions, they’re fed b.s. lines like “stay the course” and “cut and run”. Nobody other than the troops themselves are making sacrifices. All there is is a bunch of bloggers and radio hosts that talk trash and keep feeding us the very lies and half-truths that have been disproven long ago.
This war was a bad idea from day one and I pray to God that the reputation and the morale of my country isn’t irreparably damaged. I hope that you feel the same one day.

Jamie MacIntire from CNN actually dug into this Iraq-screwing-Kansas nonsense:
“But, as bad as it is, the Army insists the devastation in Kansas isn’t overly straining the Guard’s admittedly limited resources. There are still thousands of troops and hundreds of vehicles available. In fact, of the state’s more than 7,600 Guard troops, only around 10 percent are deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan. And Kansas has not asked for any reinforcements or extra equipment from neighboring states…. The Army says it has enough equipment for both a simulated drill and the real-life disaster, and argues, if the governor of Kansas has an urgent need for more bulldozers, backhoes, or Black Hawk helicopters, she only has to ask.”
Of course Luckovich would never let the facts get in the way of a partisan attack.

That’s quite a speech steve-o!
Why don’t you direct your anquished questions to the Clinton Administration and their “puppets”?
The policy to remove Saddam Hussein was not left over from the first Bush administration, but, rather, unfinished business from the Clinton administration. Upon entering office in January of 2001, President Bush inherited from the Clinton administration a policy of regime change. That policy was based upon the 1998 Iraq Liberation Act (P.L. 105-338), which stated, “It should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power and to promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime.” This policy was unanimously approved by the Senate and strongly supported by the Clinton administration.

You really don’t understand. There are REASONS why people couldn’t evacuate from New Orleans. They may seem ABLE bodied or may own a car, but many may have not had a credit card for a hotel. They may have been unable to evacuate because they were caring for a sick or older relative. There are many reasons why things happen. It’s not always so cut and dry. That’s great that you did volunteer work. Seriously, that’s exceptional. But don’t call those who were stuck in NOLA “lazy” or “clueless”. People stayed behind for many different reasons. It’s nature’s fault that neighborhoods were wiped out, but it’s the local and federal government’s fault that these people didn’t receive the EMERGENCY response necessary for the situation in a timely matter.

I don’t give a fuuck if you are purple with oink polka dots.
Every single suffering victim scenario you pointed out while chastising BD with your foul mouthed tirade was of a black victim. It’s obvious what you were saying and you aren’t man enough to admit it. It’s as simple as that.

gal: Great post! That is classic Bush. Blame the victum. Lie. Distort. Whine. Blame the democrats. The scandals are eclipsing one another! Just when I was getting a handle on the US Attorney scandal, a tornado rips through Kansas while the National (Hello: NATIONAL) Guard is overdeployed in worthless Iraq. Thank God for Kathleen Sibelius.

stevie-victim-0,
There are very few actual cases of people not getting help as soon as it was possible to give it. It’s just easy for fools to blame Bush.

RW,
You lying, pathetic mf.
You didn’t donate anything, other than stupid, knee-jerk wing nut talking points then as now.
The only thing you volunteered was regurgitated Rush and Hannity “outrage” about buses. Buses!! And you’re still stuck on stupid about them.
You racist pigs are all alike.
the only people you are about “helping” are people making enormous profits off this war. people who wouldn’t even spit on you if you were on fire.
How the h#ll can you relate to someone in need??? You can’t even imagine someone being too poor to evacuate dangerous storm.
it takes funds to do that. funds those people didn’t have.
yet you and your racist coven of witches giggle in glee at those people’s misfortunes.
you morons keep yelling that people blame Bush for Hurricane Katrina.
small minded idiots - it was his disgraceful, inept reaction to dealing with the aftermath.

RW,
Your post at 6:56 is quite mad. Buy Danish brought up NOLA victims and I responded. You understand that a lot of people left behind in NOLA were black, don’t you?
I really don’t understand the point of your 6:56 post. I never blamed white people for Katrina. I don’t know how else to tell you. I NEVER BLAMED WHITE PEOPLE FOR KATRINA.

I did notice that steve-o didn’t answer my question at 1:54. I went back up to make sure I was following the conversation correctly.
I saw accusations of bigotry and then saw his accusations against conservatives.
steve-o is black by his own accounts. I just wanted to know why he assumed that when “those on their lazy butts” were mentioned, he automtically assumed the “those” were black.
I guess he didn’t see my question, or didn’t want to answer the question.
It’s O.K., he doesn’t have to if he can’t or won’t.
That’s odd. Goldie calls me boobs.

steve-o,
There were HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF CARS left behind. Common sense tells me that people who can afford a car, can afford a tank of gas to get out of town.
Unless you want to claim that cars are like pink flamingos and their primary purpose is to decorate the neighborhood.
If worse comes to worse and you can’t afford a hotel room, you sleep in the car that got you out of harms way.
It beats dying, doesn’t it?
Tornado victims would love to have those options. You’ll notice that they don’t go around blaming Bush.
RW,
I too gave money to the Red Cross, donated time, supplies and cash to a church that was assigned to cover the influx of those who fled NOLA, and even got one of the major television stations to come to my county and do a story on the situation.
I don’t expect to be thanked, but I certainly don’t expect to be spit in the face for my efforts.

What sucks about this conversation is that if you all didn’t know that I was black, then you wouldn’t accuse me of “blaming white people”. But since you all know my ethnicity, you completely subtract the fact that I may have an actual political opinion and not a very reactionary one based on race.
We all have TVs and we all know that most of “those” in NOLA during Katrina were black. It’s not news and one doesn’t have to stretch their imagination to make that assumption.
Seeing human suffering is hard to stomach and I’m surprised at the callous attitudes of Buy Danish and RW at the suffering of their own countrymen.

RW- If you are so satisfied with the response to NOLA then answer this question or questions? In 2004 2 major hurricanes hit Florida, your boy Dubya was on the ground both times in 24 hours helping brother Jeb pass out ice and water. Yet the next year it takes him 5 days to get to NOLA even though he was less than 500 miles away. And now with Kansas it takes him another 5 days. Is the reason because:
A) Florida was a key state and it was an election year?
B) Lousiana had a democratic governor so to hell with them
C) Kansas ditto on B.
So lets see you explain his actions. And another thing Mississippi got screwed. Fema said they would be in Hattiesburg and people camped out for 3 days in the heat, when FEMA showed up they passed out a piece of paper explaining they would not be opening a local office and to contact a 800 number, so get your facts straight.

I would dispute that we wingers aren’t white power advocates. Just yesterday Rep. Ted Poe (R) Beaumont, TX invoked Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest’s (God rest his soul) name on the floor of the House of Representatives to make a point about winning wars. As you know, us wingers are very proud of the founder of the KKK and some of us aren’t ashamed to say so. It is a shame that we don’t hear more about our white heroes. I assume its because the Jews control everything. But I would like to hear Republicans speak more about our great leaders like George Wallace, Lester Maddox, B.J. Stoner, Strom Thurmond ect…
Maybe we wouldn’t have all of these liberals around running their mouths about what a terrible country we have if the White Knights still rode free w/o interference from the Zionist Occupational Government.
Let’s have a good ol’ cross burnin’ like the old days, what do you say Luck, RW, @@ and Buy Danish?

American First,
I’m not a big fan of any President getting in the way of a rescue effort and certainly not one as widespread and catastrophic as the damage from Katrina and the aftermath of the levees.
You moonbats made sure after Hurricane Andrew that letting rescue workers rescue people wouldn’t be tolerated if it gave you a chance to smear a Republican President.
Do you know how many days it took Bill Clinton to go to the World Trade Center site after the 1993 bombing. So far it’s been roughly 5100, but there’s no need to bother now. The people he let gather and grow finished the job.
The resue and aid effort after Katrina was a truly heroic effort with thousands of people working tirelessly to help their fellow man. Regardless of what the parrot says I was right there to see a lot of it.
The fact that you will, as Buy Danish so aptly put it, spit in the face of EVERY SINGLE ONE of us to score political points against President Bush is what’s truly disgusting. While some of us were helping, you hand wringers were writing letters to the editor and counting days for the President to show up so you could either trash him for taking too long or blame him for wanting a photo op if he got there too soon.
You disgust me, but I’d still pull your sorry butt out in a time of need.

Sorry steve-o, I can’t let you off that easy. I know that you incorrectly assumed that white people were bigots and uncaring and that black people were “those sitting on their lazy butts” in NOLA.
At least that’s what I saw.
I saw plenty of white people stranded in NOLA along with black people.
When it comes to Katrina, I saw acts of kindness by both blacks and whites.
I know for a fact that RW delivered when it came to helping people in NOLA.
Buy Danish just shared with us how she helped.
I helped monetarily, materially and physically. I went down there with friends, removed and replaced sheetrock.
You can have your personal and political opinions steve-o. You just can’t make your assumptions based on what you THINK you know about people.
That makes you look….well….bigoted in your own special way.

steve-o @ 9:04:
This was Andy’s post that got yesterday’s “bigot” ball rolling from the leftists here. You included…
(((Something tells me the good people of Kansas are not quite as helpless as those in New Orleans were.)))
Most of Kansas is rural. The communities hit by the tornados WERE rural. I’ve known many a black farmer. “Farmers” are resourceful people. They’re forced to be.
Don’t put words in your mouth?
Why did you let Truthman put the words in your mouth? You used his/hers to speak for you here:
(((By steve-o May 8, 2007 11:58 AM)))
(Truthman May 8, 2007 11:27 AM LuckoDull, I read the first line of your first post today and you are just a stupid bigot…a stupid, stupid bigot!!!)
(((Come on out and say it, LuckoDork!!! Say it!! The people in NOLA were black and the farmers were white! Don’t tell me that the victims of Katrina were perverts! Who the fuuck are you? What gives you the right, you cowardly, worthless waste of oxygen? Who told you that you were worthy to castigate a whole group of people? Why don’t you say that directly to someone from NOLA if you’re not a coward.)))
Now right ^^^ there is where you made your mistake. You assumed that ALL resourceful people were white and that ALL “helpless” people are black.
Now the word “bigot” is used irresponsibly, and without justification IMO, and it is ALWAYS used against white people.
Intelligent people of all colors have come to realize that it no longer serves in the best interest of ANYONE, minorities included.
Parting shot? Here it is again. See if you can get it this time:
(((You can have your personal and political opinions steve-o. You just can’t make your assumptions based on what you THINK you know about people.)))
(((That makes you look….well….bigoted in your own special way.)))
That ^^^ would be like me, looking around at my black neighbors and saying they’re “helpless”.
They’re not….they’re conservatives. Does that surprise you?
They’re black, my husband and I are white. We and they, (my “conservative” friends) all went to NOLA in an RV to repair sheetrock for people we did not know. Would you be surprised that white people went, that black people went, or that we ALL went together?

It was LuckoDull who began to draw distinctions between those in Kansas and those in New Orleans. He was also drawing the conclusions that the people in NOLA were helpless and immoral. HE said it…NOT ME. I was extremely upset and I challenged him.
Now as far as you and your neighbors…that’s great. Really that is awesome!
But again, you fall into the same trap as RW. You assume that I have no white friends and that I believe that all white people are evil. You couldn’t be more wrong. I told you about my family. Let me see…my roomate is white, my best friend since high school is white and CONSERVATIVE…my girlfriend is white.

Paris should be allowed all the room service she desires, for it is her desires that I need to know are being fulfilled. She wants something? The warden and staff should JUMP! One of the guard’s not busy? PICK UP A HAIR DRYER! (and let Paris refresh).
There should be a wet bar in her cell for happy hour 2.
Paris: Incarcerant. Sophisticant. Maybe she’ll blog and find this blog and we’ll all be treated to the splendor of her everything.
