It’s about time someone talked back to the Isrealis who have managed to avoid following international resolutions for 50 years or more, have used US aid to build illegal settlements to steal Palestinian lands, and only want peace on their own terms. They have exploited the holocaust for selfish purposes. Good for Jimmy Carter. Also good for James Baker. The only two to tell them the bitter truth.

Good job Mike, this is a great representation of Jimmy Carter and a honest one at that. I agree totally that the guy is some kind of freak mutant, a weird deranged person filled with obsessive hatred. A true liberal.
And the olive branch represents the treachery of dealing with the ignorant left.

- Carter is being panned for committing the ultimate sin of penning a fair portrayal of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
I challenge ALL to read this summary before knee-jerking to the superficial, dishonest, sound-bite criticisms of the right-wing echo chamber (the usual suspects…sigh).
There are two interrelated obstacles to permanent peace in the Middle East: Some Israelis believe they have the right to confiscate and colonize Palestinian land and try to justify the sustained subjugation and persecution of increasingly hopeless and aggravated Palestinians; and Some Palestinians react by honoring suicide bombers as martyrs to be rewarded in heaven and consider the killing of Israelis as victories.
Carter has tirelessly championed this cause from the early days of his Presidency through today.
It is disappointing to see those who only view this conflict from the Israeli perspective seek to discredit Carters’ sincere efforts.
The dishonest smears and cherry picking of facts is the desperate bastion of those who do not wish to appreciate the intent of this provocative tome.

Mike, It’s just like a dumba$$ liberal to confuse who the real enemy is.
Carter is a pathetic lying POS. Put him in a group of three sore losers and you’ve got three communist sympathizers who are FREAKING IDIOT DEMOCRATS.
Ask Kenneth Stein, former Director of The Carter Center what he thinks of Carter. I’ll help just in case you want to hide the facts in your satire.
“President Carter’s book on the Middle East, a title too inflammatory to even print, is not based on unvarnished analyses; it is replete with factual errors, copied materials not cited, superficialities, glaring omissions, and simply invented segments.”

Mike, Great cartoon.
On the other blog, Jim is lamenting our “fragile value systems,” and has just recently stated in print that he would take Kenneth Stein’s opinion over that of Jimmy Carter on very fragile evidence that Stein’s opinion is even significant in this debate. Why is in that the conservatives tangle themselves up in their logic so easily? Jim needs to do an essay explaining conservative doublethink to us moderates so that we may follow their jumps and leaps and twists of logic, although sometimes their mental gymnastics are all they have going for them.
The cartoon satirically strikes at the heart: Carter in an effort to advance the cause of peace has angered those who felt their position was unassailable, who believed that they hold the American conservatives in their vest pockets.
Mike, well done. President Carter, Diogenes admires your courage.

TommyT,
Noticed you didn’t respond to my post yesterday evening regarding your scintillating analysis on Sunday alcohol sales in Ga. And rather than let you put your tail between your legs and cut and run from the topic (typical neo-con tactic), I thought I’d repost it and give you a second chance. So here it is again:
Heathen? Is that like an infidel?
That says pretty much everything anyone needs to know about you Tommy Boy.
Other than your diatribe, I see that you’ve offered what as a repost? Nothing?
You can’t debate the issue on it’s merits. In fact you’ve offered not one single reason why the law is worthwhile or not. And you know you can’t, so you pose as an intelligent debater.
“In all reality, you and I both know that Sunday blue laws do not really concern you at all, this was just an opportunity to express your heathen, demented hatred of the Church.”
Know? Oh really? Your crystal ball must have broken years ago. No big deal. That’s your problem, and a big one. But not mine. You assume much and look foolish by doing so. But it’s your lack of logic and even the semblance of arguing a counter position that makes you terribly ill equipped to debate.
So lay it on us, William Jennings Bryant. Why should the blues laws exist? This should be fun…
Here’s your chance to shine, big boy. If you don’t totally crap the bed on this one, maybe you can enlighten all of us with your cogent analysis of the Carter presidency!

A man that has dedicated an enormous part of his life in an effort to bring peace to Israel is ‘an anti-semite.’
You must be a real genius…
You MAY question the results, but to question the intent of Carter and his brokering of the Israeli/Egyption treaty (still holding to this day) to his efforts in Oslo to his current efforts at jump-starting a process that died when Bush came in to office is ONE OF THE MOST RIDICULOUS conclusions I have ever witnessed.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The 2006 congressional election campaign finally came to an end, with Democrats reclaiming a US House seat from a Republican incumbent in the last undecided legislative race.
{The upset Democratic victory for the House seat from Texas proved a final insult for Republicans whose showing in the disastrous 2006 congressional campaigns was the party’s worst in some 30 years.](http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/usvotefinal2006)
Chalk up another “mission accomplished”. King George is the best thing that has happened for the Democratic party since sliced bread. He has unequivocably PROVEN to the American public the failure of Repulican ideology.
George W. Bush has PROVEN beyond any doubt that supply side economics, tax cuts unbalanced by spending cuts, nation building, war-mongering, and the notion of an imperial presidency are ideas that only worked during the colonial age if they ever worked at all. 21st century politics requires delicate diplomacy, patience, and intellect that Republicans simply have never demonstarted any ability to muster.
Thank God that we have Democrats to clean up the messes that Republicans have always left. Now the Republicans will have to once again wait for a couple of decades until the public has forgotten their total ineptitude before they can hornswoggle the next generation of SUCKERS!

Considering that I am someone who has no problems at all conducting the normal day to day activities of my life without the assistance of the government, blue laws are an almost inconsequential hindrance; it’s like you can’t drive on the left side of the road into oncoming traffic so most normal people accept that and keep to the right. For some reason you liberals find the most minor issues to be so incapacitating, so impossible to overcome. I do not suffer the same life altering foolishness. If I wish to drink on Sunday, I stop at the convenience store on Saturday. Pretty smart, huh?
What an interesting coincidence that this argument should unfold during the Christmas season, amidst all the shock and hubbub from you liberals that Christians would have the audacity, the nerve to mention the Name of Jesus Christ during the Christmas season, gasp, gasp. And in a country founded upon the principles of Christianity too!! Blue laws just go to show you how much our laws in the United States are based on the teachings of Christianity.
I’ll bet you can go to Iran and buy beer on Sunday, I think. If not, you can throw a fit and badmouth allah like you did Christ, see what happens.

And they got the nerve to call Bush an “idiot.”
