So many questions for those that consider Vice President Cheney a MODEL ‘Conservative…’
How WILL the ‘Christian Conservatives’ handle the FACT that the Vice Presidents Grandchild will be raised in a homosexual household?
Will the Vice President continue to stand by quietly as the voices in his party continue to demonize homosexuals?
Do Dick and Lynne Cheney think, like many ‘Christian Conservatives,’ that homosexual couples should not be allowed to have/adopt children?
My, my, what a quandary ‘Christian Conservatives’ find themselves in when reality spits in the face of their bigotry…

The RNC is sad to note the passing of one of its’ long time covert operatives, Gladys Schickelgruber. Gladys performed covert monitoring and tactical operations for the RNC on the Mike Luckovitch blog.
Gladys was affectionately known by several screen names to her fellow bloggers. As Andy, Gladys was able to get in touch with her masculine side. Gladys continued to develop her talents with the creation of her characters, Suck, Lie, and Filthy.
Gladys had become increasing unhinged after the Democrats stole the midterm elections through the use of their liberal mind control ray. Taking several full hits from the device, Gladys valiantly threw herself over the enemy raygun embattlement to bravely save her fellow RNC comrades from consumption by the filthy Democrats. Sadly the damage was done and Gladys sucumbed to blood loss after screwing herself in the keister with a garden rake while under the Democrats dastardly influence
The RNC will sorely miss Gladys during our annual “Boys and Girls” events. Over the years, she steadfastly supplied case after case of KY from her family’s personal lubricant business at no cost to the party.
Please bow your heads for a moment of silence in respect of this great American. In lieu of flowers, donations to the RNC can be made at https://www.gop.com/Contribute/.

A liberal’s bigotry knows no bounds as long as it’s directed at a republican through a republican.
Then there’s the open big tent of republicans like Cheney.
There was no formal announcement, but the Post quoted spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride as saying Tuesday night that “the vice president and Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the arrival of their sixth grandchild.”
The details surrounding the pregnancy will remain private.
Yea right! Liberals love sordid details. Especially when they get to define what sex is or isn’t.

Radar,
Are you saying that prominent voices FOR the GOP do NOT routinely demonize homosexuals???
Please refer to the frequent rantings from James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Ted Haggard (oh, the irony…), Alan Keyes (ditto on the irony), El Rushbo (drug addict with 3 failed marriages), Hannity, Savage, Santorum, Reid, etc., etc., etc.
The VERY LOUD VOICES of your failing party speak out routinely on the morality of homosexuals, how the institution of marriage is ‘under attack’ by homosexuals, about how people ‘choose’ to be homosexual.
Do you DENY this FACT?

Crusty,
I wish the Cheney’s the best and appreciated the VP’s statement during one of his debates on this issue when he said, ‘people ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to.’
My question is how does such a pillar of the ‘conservative’ movement reconcile this enlightened sentiment with the VERY LOUD and bigoted voices in his party?
How can a man of virtue allow his own daughter and granddaughter (not to mention daughter in law) to be vilified, along with all homosexuals, by his biggest supporters?
A man of character would disavow these voices.

Mike,
It’s a clever cartoon. Poor Santa; it appears that you’re going to give him the same type of press you gave those poor turkeys before Thanksgiving.
I read Peter A. Brown’s editorial, “Dems shouldn’t overlook Edwards in bid to regain Presidency,” AJC, p. A17, from which your cartoon seems derivative, or did you pull it directly from the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute?
Since Obama has should a high rating on the poll, it is obvious why you choose the subject of the cartoon (but remember that he is still largely an unknown). Edwards is slightly ahead of Clinton (but has a high unknown percentage also). Clinton is the best known potential candidate with the highest recognition rating. The Democratic Party’s task in selecting a candidate is going to get real interesting, especially for us moderates. At the moment, I’m not sure that the Republicans have a viable candidate in sight, either. Santa is secure for a little while longer at least.

Well, looks like we have a full blown hate fest here today by liberals.
1-What the Cheney family does or does not do is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.
2-Vice President Cheney is just that,VP, not a minister or”preacher”.
3-“Family Values” are values taught by every Christian church. They are not a single component taught by those called “fundamentalists”.
4-“Love thy neighbor” starts at home with love thy family. Some of you need to try that.
5-Some religious groups find that certain sex acts are against their beliefs. But we do not have a theocracy and people are free to express those opinions, pro and con.
But that in no way encourages citizens to delve in the private lives of others or to express hate that leads to inflamatory discrimination.
So watch your thoughtless comments. I am afraid there are extremist in every group. You might be one of them.

Speaking of the cartoon: I have never encountered a political figure who inspires the love that Barak does. I’ve had several girls tell me they would do anything the man asks, anything at all. I’ve had guys tell me they’d jump off of a building if he told them to. He may be the most loved politician since at least Reagan.
It’s easy to see why, too. He’s honest. Still. He may have to lose that once running for President, but for now he is an amazingly honest person. After 6 years of the Shrub and 12 years of Republican Congress that’s a commodity no one really remembers any more.

Mike, The Dems are in a lose lose situation in 2008 with this combo. Aside from Obama’s lack of experience, consider this…
If Hillary sees Obama as a grave threat to her bid for the WH, you’re going to see the other ugly side of the Clinton duo. We already saw Bill’s in the Wallace interview.
By the time Hillary gets through with Obama, his own mother won’t recognize him.
The extremes don’t like Hillary. She’s on record as supporting the war in Iraq.
The marginalized leftwing voters don’t like Obama. They see him as aspiring to nothing outside the Washington power structure. Not really interested in challenging the status-quo and we all know how the extremes like to challenge conventional thinking. They call it their bigger movement against America’s traditional. They think he’s been dishonest in stereotyping them.
Nope, neither one of them will fly with the extreme left but then those goofy birds should have had their wings clipped a long time ago.

Frank Lee - What do you mean by saying that we saw Clinton’s ugly side in the Wallace interview? Clinton didn’t let Wallace steamroll over him by letting Wallace ask questions outside the premise that Clinton was told the interview would include. FOX “reporters” always use this tactic and Clinton called him on it. That’s not ugly, that’s defending yourself against a hack. You’ll notice hat Clinton did not back away from the questions but he let Wallace know that he knew what he was up to and that it wasn’t falling for it. Then he answered the question. Unlike what Bush and his ilk do when cornered.

Sorry, RW, you really have no right to talk about “hero worship” considering your blind, and idiotic, adherence to every word emanating from our Chief Shrub the Jr. I guess since Obama tells the truth he is not worthy of your loyalty. Neither is Clinton since, of course, a BJ in the office is a far graver offense than sending 3,000 men to die for nothing, and getting the whole world to hate us. I understand. It’s the neocon bizarro world.
As for Obama, I know enough about him. I have heard the man speak, I have read what the man has done, and I certainly know that he would be a million-fold improvement over the mold that grows in the corners of the Oval Office today. And yes, before you start jumping up and down like a puppy, I said “corners of the Oval Office” on purpose, joking-like.
It comes down to this, RW. I can much easier stomach a barrage of b-job jokes than a barrage of “another 70 people died in car bomb explosions in the country we invaded” jokes. Hell, even Rummy admitted the war is a failure!

getalife,
I think the neo-cons, including RW, are still hurting a lot from last month’s thrashing in the mid-terms.
I doubt anyone believes his BS about his reason for cutting and running over to Wooten’s (now there’s a real insane asylum for ya!) was that this blog was so anti-Bush. I’m pretty sure that without suck to inspire them, he and the bigot, just aren’t up to the challenge anymore. That’s too bad, because even though this place is infinitely better off with suck and bigot gone, I kinda liked RW. We disagreed on almost everything political, but he did have his good points.
But one of his less admirable qualities was always his utter lack of sense of fair-play and objectivity. For example he said last night that I was guilty of “scurrilously insulting” BD. Like she was the model of southern etiquette!
Yet, time after time after time, when challenged to do the right thing, he refused to say boo about lil andykins, who used to pollute this place with, hands down, the most dispicable behavior and language seen here. And why? ONLY because they agreed on politics. Utterly shameful.
And people wonder why far right wing neo-cons have so little credibility left. Or maybe they don’t…

So the hyper-partisan doodler finally addresses a Democrat in a cartoon. Of course, in this case Mikey is commenting on how wonderful Obama is.
Here is a funny article about how liberal hacks in the media have such silly crushes on Democrat candidates.
—————————————St. Democrat?
Is there nothing negative to say about the presidential aspirations of Sens. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and Barack Obama, D-IL?
From following recent media coverage, you’d hardly know that many leading Democrats have SERIOUS CONCERNS that Clinton is unelectable, opposed as she is out of the gate by 4 in 10 Americans, according to polls.
Or that Barack Obama has admitted trying marijuana and cocaine in his youth (acknowledged in his beautifully-written autobiography DREAMS FROM MY FATHER, and has a scant two years in the Senate to his name, with little to claim credit for legislatively.
Indeed, compare coverage of the questions as to whether President Bush ever tooted nose candy, with Obama’s admission that he has.
At this point in the presidential race, we in the media tend to not harp on the negatives too much — the thinking beig that there will be time for that during the ugly primaries and caucuses, many of the candidates are relatively unknown so broader biographical information consumes much of the coverage, and the horse race aspect of it all — who’s in, who’s out — remains the focus.
But that doesn’t mean some of the coverage of Obama and Clinton specifically seems to confirm some of the conservative media criticism that we have unrepentant biases.
Yes, a Madame President or President Obama would be ground-breaking.
And yes, there are many fine things to say about both politicians.
And triple yes, we in the media (and I was certainly GUILTY OF THIS) likewise gave occasionally glowing coverage to conservative Republican Sen.John McCain of Arizona. (Though that was when he was an underdog; we shall see how his 2008 coverage as frontrunner compares.)
I think we all in the media need to not let our personal enthusiams for Clinton/Obama, should they exist, get the better of our reports.

getalife:
Didn’t mean to keep you waiting, I’m in the middle of cooking dinner.
I would be willing to bet there’s not a member in either house, be they Democrat or Republican, who would tell a woman to “go f herself”. I’m not sure where that would leave you.
There are women on this board who can dish out the profanity as good as the men. When it comes back at them, they asked for it.
Three that I can think of off the top of my head. Myself, Danish and Midori. There are probably others as well.
Dusty isn’t one of them. She has never offered profanity in her comments.
You really should ask yourself if your Grandfather Murtha would stoop that low. He’d be willing to accept a bribe, but I don’t think even he would tell Dusty, of all people, to “go f herself.”
I’ve appreciated you, a liberal, for a lot of your good qualities, but your judgment and humor is lacking in your 11:41 to Dusty.
Shameful.

I have some answers for Mike.
Clinton tried weed, and was elected, twice, overwhelmingly. Bush has done coke, and was sort of elected, twice. Although the world would have benefitted had he remained on coke. Neither is a serious impediment to getting elected. And he certainly has more Washington experience than either of the last 2 Presidents, who were governors.
Of course there is far more coverage of Bush snorting coke. For one, Shrubby keeps lying about it. For another Obama is nothing more than a junior Senator from Illinois, for now. He’s not even officially running yet. Bush is the Prez.
It’s not newsworthy, or interesting, to tear down those who are not yet particularly newsworthy themselves. I mean, if we start digging for dirt on every politician the media itself annoits as the “Next Great One”, that would leave precious little time for anything else. I have faith in the media. If they managed to swallow the Republican line that Purple Hearts are actually a disgrace last time, I have no doubt they’ll find something equally horrifying about Obama. Maybe that he gives to charity, rather than investing in American business (i.e. buying crap), thus showing that he does not care about our economy, and is therefore undeserving of being the CiC.

One of George W. Bush’s deepest unconscious wishes has finally come true - he publicly brought down his own family, particularly his father. He had been building up to this point throughout his public and private life - most famously when he told Bob Woodward that he never consulted his father about invading Iraq, and that he preferred a “higher Father.” To make matters worse he wouldn’t let his father speak at the 2004 Republican Convention and soon thereafter consigned him to tour the world with the man who had defeated him in 1992 - Bill Clinton.
This time, W didn’t have to do anything. He has already destroyed his father’s legacy of international cooperation. He continues practice what Bush 41 once derisively labeled “voodoo economics”, driving America into irrevocable debt. As usual, W was nowhere to be found when his father broke down while attempting to celebrate brother Jeb’s career - Jeb, who may be the real man of the family.
When Bush 41 started talking about Jeb’s 1994 gubernatorial loss in Florida he wept openly, sputtering that Jeb didn’t whine or complain about losing; that how a person handles victory and defeat is the true measure of a man. He choked up on the word “defeat,” a word he must feel applies to his entire dynasty.
For it is not simply that W is a failure, which he is. He is also a success - he breaks things more thoroughly than any president in history. And now W has branded his entire family as failures, Jeb’s defeat becoming the prototype for future family humiliations. While Bush 41 defends his firstborn, he reveres his third-born. And in his heart of hearts he knows that the firstborn has murdered not only our sons and daughters, but his family’s hope for a lasting legacy of honor, courage, and real public service.

Midori has now come right out and called Bush a “murderer” (not in her own words of course). What a despicable, vulgar, worthless parrot.
What Midori the profane parrot calls “Murder” most of us call “War”. Like this:
Iraq is a single front in a much larger war. If we don’t suppress Iran, Syria, the Taliban, al Qaeda, and the Sunni terror funding stream in Saudi Arabia, we can’t win in Iraq, no matter how victory is defined. You can’t win if you don’t take on the forces determined to see you lose…
There is a global jihad. It’s on, now. Like it or not. Rise to the challenge or not. You don’t want war with Iran? Fine. But never forget for a second that Iran is already at war with you…
“Death to America” is not just a slogan for our enemies. It’s a deeply held conviction, on which they are feverishly acting. Only when we are ready to take them seriously, when our leaders’ brave words are matched by determined deeds, can we win — in Iraq and, more importantly, in the greater war…

I see, Muffin. It all makes sense now. So if I want to kill a bunch of people I can just call it a “war”, in which case anything goes. You kill 10 people, you’re labelled a serial killer, a horrible murderer. You kill 100,000 of your own people, you’re known as the perpetuator of genocide, and are reviled forever. But you kill 100,000 of some other people, hey! it’s a war, $#it happens.
And before you start sputtering like a broken kettle, or posting more worthless nationalreview garbage, here’s a reality check: Iraq had nothing to do with “war on terror”. No connection between Saddam and the terrorists. Iraq had less terrorists living inside its borders prior to 9/11 than did the U.S. So don’t try to bring up that bleep.

GWB invaded Iraq because he said that they were in violation of U.N. resolution 144x (I don’t remember the specific resolution).
Now, let’s not get into the hypocrisy of screaming that the U.N. is irrelevant yet using the U.N. as an excuse to invade Iraq. Let’s just say that when you attack a country pre-emptively and come up empty as far as your “evidence”, then you have needlessly murdered people. If you disagree, GPSUYA.

Why is Al Qaeda in Iraq? Sunning themselves by the Tigris River and enjoying the shade of the Palm trees?
Why is Iran sending its proxy armies there?
Why don’t you ask you vulgar squawking parrot friends for help - Huge, Midori, Getalife and now a little chirp from RE who adds “genocide” to the list of moonbat synonyms for “War”.

Muffin, darling, are you really this stupid, or are you just playing? Wars don’t just “happen”, you retard. Someone, some idiot, some son of a b!tch starts them. For instance, the blame for WWII rests with Hitler and the German Nazis. The blame for Gulf War I lies with Saddam. That means that they are responsible for the death and destruction wrought by those wars. Personally responsible. Why the hell do you think there were Nuremberg trials, dummy? The blame for this war rests squarely with the Shrub, Cheney, and his cabal. That’s the way the world works.
