Congratulations Cartoon Boy!! This is the lamest cartoon of the year!!

If you’re a pinko or act like a pinko, you can attempt to stab your wife and the liberal media will quickly act to repair your image by making fun of your troubles.

How many of you feminists are laughing?

There are plenty of close races which are understood to be close by both sides. WASHINGTON - Awaiting the recommendations of a commission exploring U.S. options in Iraq, the White House on Thursday emphatically ruled out some proposals to end the long and unpopular war.

Presidential spokesman Tony Snow said a suggestion to divide Iraq into Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish regions, each with high degrees of autonomy, was a “nonstarter.” Similarly, he said a phased withdrawal of American troops — perhaps by 5 percent every two months — also was a “nonstarter.”

Why the resistance to a triparte division of Iraq? Giving each of these groups their own autonomy would quell the civil war that is raging across the country. Usually with Republicans you only need to ‘follow the money’, so what economic incentives do the Republican ‘war profiteers’ have to block an effort that might result in a pacified Iraq? Could it be that the Republicans simply want to drag this thing out as long as they can so that their good buddies in the war supplies industries can make a few more megabucks ? ? ?

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The Shiite militia run by anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr seized total control of the southern Iraqi city of Amarah on Friday in one of the boldest acts of defiance yet by one of the country’s powerful, unofficial armies, witnesses and police said.

Any ground engagement is always about communictions and troop strength. King George has tired to ‘cheap it out’ in both areas and the results that have ensued have been completely predictable. They’re all dupes - That’s called lying to trick people into voting for you. And the religious right wonders why the Republican congress never passes any of its must-do legislation about abortion, gays, immigration, or much of anything else. That’s because:

The religious right always threatens to sit out the election, but they never do. The Republicans know the religious right loathes Democrats, and would never really walk no matter how badly they were treated, so, as the saying goes, why buy the (sacred) cow when you get the milk for free?

The second reason the Republicans never really do anything for the religious right is because the religious always settles for “attempts” to pass legislation, rather than the real thing.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Given the U.S. military’s troubled history in Vietnam, generals and their foot soldiers in Iraq may have shuddered after they heard President Bush acknowledge a comparison with today’s Iraq and the Viet Cong’s 1968 Tet Offensive.

In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, the president said a New York Times column by Thomas Friedman might be correct in drawing that analogy.

And here’s what ‘Filthy’ says @ 0851am- “The libs compare Iraq to Tet, I compare it to Saigon, IF the democrats get elected:” As usual when you are listening to a Republican, hold onto your wallet with both hands and be prepared to hear another pack of LIES. One big reason so many of our troops and Iraqi citizens have been killed this year is because of the inaction of the Iraqi government, mainly Al-Malaki who refuses to pursue his own militia-murderers:

Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, a former Shiite activist, won the top government post last spring thanks in part to the support of al-Sadr, who controls 30 of the 275 seats in the national parliament and five Cabinet posts

This is the way the Republicans play. They cheat to win. But, they ususally don’t get busted. In addition to the barrage of negative ads, voter suppression is another favored tactic of the GOP. It’s despicable and anyone who does it should be in jail. Republican OR Democrat. Although Democrats tend to value our democracy more than Republicans.

I think the traditional media often dismisses claims of voter suppression as liberal conspiracies. Now, they know otherwise.

They spoke of the national pride felt by the ENTIRE COUNTRY upon seeing the photograph of our soldiers raising the flag on Iowa Jima.

I couldn’t help but wonder how many of our men and women today joined the military inspired by the bravery & pride of past heroes? 500 were lost on the first day of that offensive.

What does the left give our soldiers for their effort? Impatience & a lack of confidence in them & their mission.

Please notice day one of Pelosi’s plan:

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has unveiled a Democratic “first 100 hours” plan to be enacted once Democrats control the House. In an effort to “drain the [Republican] swamp,” Pelosi would:

Day One: Put new rules in place to “break the link between lobbyists and legislation.”

Day Two: Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Time remaining until 100 hours: Raise the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, maybe in one step. Cut the interest rate on student loans in half. Allow the government to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices for Medicare patients.

Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds — “I hope with a veto-proof majority,” she added in an Associated Press interview Thursday.

All the days after that: “Pay as you go,” meaning no increasing the deficit, whether the issue is middle class tax relief, health care or some other priority.

CONDI SAVES THE DAY!

Present at the Oval Office were the President, the First Lady, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld and, serving the coffee, Tom Snow, who incidentally has trouble distinguishing a caffe latte with a latte, with a cappuccino, with an espresso, with a cortao, etc.

They were ll waiting for Condi. The moment she walked into the office dressed in a seducing Hong Kong silk sheath, a gentle printed silk scarf and the newest sport shoes out of Taipei, the President offered her a chair. The others present, except the First Lady who smiled, remained silent.

The President then picked up the paper with the headlines that announced in bold letters: “SEOUL, South Korea - North Korean leader Kim Jong Il said in Pyongyang that North Korea does not plan to carry out any more nuclear tests and expressed regret about the country’s first-ever atomic detonation last week. When asked about his change of course, he replied that he had received a message from Condoleeza Rice, the US Secretary of State and that had contributed to his change of mind. He further explained that this change was I no way an abandonment of his previous attitude and that North Korea, if warned once more, would “crush U.S. imperialists’ schemes with its self-defensive power. No matter how the U.S. imperialists try to stifle and isolate our republic … victory will be on the side of justice,”

Both the President and the First Lady were quick to congratulate Condi. Like the rest of the country, the news brought a collective sigh of relief. The others in the room remained silent and possibly annoyed, except Tom Snow who was busy trying to raise some froth on a cappuccino.

The First Lady embraced Condi and in a soft voice asked her:

“What did your message say, Condi?”

“Not much. I just asked “Who does your hair?”

The Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat, Jane Harman of Al Qaeda, wrote to Hoekstra that she was “appalled” by his action, which was “without basis.”

Defining terms;

budget deficit:

n : an excess of expenditures over revenues

national debt:

n : the debt of the national government (as distinguished from the debts of individuals and businesses and political subdivisions)

See the budget deficit is the yearly shortfall between the amount taken (taxes etc.) in vs the amount spent. Any budget deficit will increase the national debt. The national debt is currently 8.5 trillion dollars and growing.

For a look at the states that receive the most amount of federal money back for each dollar paid in please click here

Notice how the red states tend to recieve more money than they pay in, the blue states contribute more money to the fed govt and recieve less back. Notable exception to Texas and Washington DC. In general, the Red states are the welfare burden of the people who are funding this country, the blue staters

Sybil Bon Scott and RE,

The budget deficit is 2% of GDP which is historically SMALLER than it has been in the past. The dollars are meaningless without that comparison.

Moreover, Bush tax cuts have increased revenues to the Federal treasury which have enabled the corresponding reductions in our deficit.

Impeach Chimpy 12:33 - re. right cuts soldiers’ benefits and makes them pay for their own food in hospital -

There’s always “the rest of the story.” If by benefits you’re referring to VA - you may have a point - but a good part of it gets down to “fun with numbers.” Regarding making soldiers pay for their own food: it’s a fundamental principle of law that taxpayers do not pay taxes so government employees can buy each other food, drink or gifts (and yes, there are exceptions). Military personnel are paid “separate rations” to compensate when “subsistence in kind” (read: access to a dining facility) is not available. A soldier lives off post, he gets the cash. He lives off post and eats in the gov’t meal facility, he pays for meals. He lives on post and always eats in the dining facility, he has his separate rations deducted from his pay. So when a soldier for whatever reason has government-provided meals provided, he pays for his own food. If you don’t like it, ask your Congressman to provide free food for government employees (military personnel).

I recall a few weeks back when I explicitly told poster, N-GA that he would receive no direct response from me. Why? Because a young woman, Allaina, whose brother is presently serving in Iraq, expressed her support of her brother’s efforts, as well as her concern for his safety. She also said that she was disappointed in the leftists who repeatedly failed to support the cause which many of our troops believe in.

While the conservatives here and I believe one Democrat, expressed gratitude for her sacrifice, as well as her brother’s, N-GA barged into the conversation telling Allaina that her brother was fighting an unjust war, and didn’t have the intelligence to know that.

Couldn’t allow himself one brief moment to forego his political agenda to offer compassion or gratitude to a young woman and her brother. Pretty despicable in my view.

There are those radicals that need to return to the 60’s and ask their anti-war cohorts exactly why the draft was halted. Poster, N-GA is one of them.

Raise min wage - I know all the “free market” arguments - just can’t figure out where we have a “free market.” I’d be fine with making exceptions for, say, kids under 18,thought.

Broaden types of stem cell… - this’ll be controversial. At least some in the debate recognize there are different types of treatments, therapies, etc.

Cut interest rates on student loans - doesn’t go far enough. Are you aware student loans can be refinanced only once - even if rates drop? Lousy history of influence peddling between one particular Congressman and the industry.

Permit drug price competition for Medicare - what took so long here? Rep Billy Tauzin - R-La was driving force behind prohibiting competition (but he’s a conservative Republican!) - then retired and took a job as a multi-million dollar head of a pharmeceutical umbrella group. Dept of Defense has a great model for the rest of the Fed gov’t to copy.

“Pay as you go” - sounds good, I’d rather see limits on total spending rather than continuing to increase taxes (or deficit) instead of reducing or eliminating other programs.

PRICELESS! Replace “Ann Coulter” with “Andy” and you get the idea. Maybe we should call him Anndy :-)

“I don’t believe it,” seethed Ann Coulter.

Her contempt was directed at a September 25 San Francisco Chronicle story reporting that former NFL star and Army Ranger war hero Pat Tillman, who was killed in Afghanistan last year, believed the US war on Iraq was “f*ing illegal” (his words) and counted Noam Chomsky among his favorite authors. It must have been quite a moment for Coulter, who upon Tillman’s death described him in her inimitably creepy fashion as “an American original—virtuous, pure and masculine like only an American male can be.” She tried to discredit the story as San Francisco agitprop, but this approach ran into a slight problem: The article’s source was Pat Tillman’s mother, Mary.

Mary and the Tillman family are relentlessly pushing for answers to the questions surrounding Pat’s death in Afghanistan. They want to know why it took the Pentagon five weeks to tell them he died in a tragic case of friendly fire. They want to know why they were unwitting props at Pat’s funeral, weeping while lies were told by eulogizing politicians. Mary is now hoping that a new Pentagon inquiry will bring closure. “There have been so many discrepancies so far that it’s hard to know what to believe,” she said to the Chronicle. “There are too many murky details.”

And if Sheehan speaks with absolute moral authority, then so does Diane Ibbotson — and the other mothers who have lost sons in Iraq yet continue to support the mission their sons died for and bitterly oppose Sheehan for discrediting it.

This tosser can’t even keep track of the left’s most cherished positions, they’re so murky. This is your stupid argument, Brian, surprise, surprise.

Conservatives believe that EVERYBODY, including Kevin Tillman, are entitled a right to speak their mind in America.

Your the party of censorship^^ look at what Al Dud is saying.

Back to the Patriotism discussion, Pat Tillman has been dead for nearly 3 years. Why is it only around election season do you pinkos care about what his family has to say, huh, huh??

ML…voted “No” on your toon. The subject really holds no interest for me. It’s more of a subject for the tabloids…what about the news on the Ozone layer? I’m not a scientist so all I can do is read what is reported and/or published. If those who believe that man is responsible for most of “global warming” are wrong….so what. If those who deny man is responsible for most of “global warming” are wrong, we are all in trouble.

@@,

When anyone comes on this political blog and spouts nonsense, they should be challenged. If a teenager wants to talk about her brother fighting in Iraq (in an illegal and immoral war) and states that he is fighting for our rights, then she needs to be mature enough to handle the truth. Unless of course you think American teenagers should be sheltered from the truth and grow up to be wimps like GWB.

Our American servicemen ARE NOT in Iraq fighting for our rights. They are there because a fascist administration decided to go after Iraq long before 9/11. All they needed was an excuse, and the U.N. (who they hate) gave them an excuse. And all the BS you spout doesn’t change that fact one bit!!!

Another great, proud day in Iraq! The illegal, criminal “war” in a sovereign nation is almost successfully completed’ Our President, the deep drunk, will now hint at ‘possible changes” in the “plan.” And some of the ignorant U.S. masses will buy into it at election time - thus joining the Repubpunks who already goose-step to the tune of something like a Bush family member. Amazing, tho highly predictable. This blog is a fine example “conservative” mindset & soulset. Very revealing. Now, get to your predtend little Fuhrer Bunkers for the weekend. Don’t forget your ballcaps, shaved heads, gangsta tees and shorts, cell phones, trucks, “Dude”-talk, cans/bottles of courage. You know, your life’s sustenance. Really? I don’t view any soldier as a piece of crap… unless they torture innocent people or gun down civilians, of course.

Only in the fevered imaginations of simpleminded neocons do “liberals hate the troops.” Gee, which group is cheerleading for their continued slaughter—and which wants to bring them home?

Seems to me that “supporting the troops” should leave more of them alive than not….

@@,

I have to disagree with you about the Swift Boat Veterans being like Dan Rather. The fact is that John O’Neill had been on Kerry’s case for 35 years.

The following transcript is taken from ABC’s special June 30, 1971 broadcast of “The Dick Cavett Show,” during which former Navy Lieutenant John Kerry represented Vietnam Veterans Against the War. He was opposed by fellow Navy veteran John O’Neill, representing Vietnam Veterans for a Just Peace.

This has NOTHING in common with the Partisan Dan Rather and the phony forged documents supplied him by nutcase Democrat operative Bill Burkett at the last hours before the election.

The slandering John Kerry wasn’t even a Senator at the time of this debate. He had testified before Congress however - disgracefully.
