Wow Mike, you surprised me! I was expecting a cartoon this morning trying to make the plane crash in NYC appear as a ploy by President Bush to make voters focus on the War on Terror.
Your Far Left Wacko readership is going to make you pay for NOT doing that! :)

Excellent ‘toon Mike! McCain thinks that we’ll buy his BS about N Korea’s nukes being Clinton’s fault. Common sense says that they had no nukes in 2000 but in 2006 they do. Hmmm now who was the president between 2000 and 2006?

Good grief Chimpy, I hope you’re not registered to vote! Your common sense is lacking (as well as knowledge of the facts). It was Clinton’s pathetic foreign policy of appeasement (using Carter as his message boy) that allowed the North Koreans to skip a couple of decades of research to get ahead in their quest of a nuke.
I guess you’re another victim of our public school system.

What you morons on the right fail to realize is that Clinton at least tried to handle Bin Laden and Korea. His hands were tied by a Republican congress who now blame him for not trying hard enough. What had bush done about Bin Laden? He let him go and by his own words “I don’t know where he is and I really don’t think about it that much”. What has he done about Korea? “I won’t conduct talks with Korea without China and Russia there to hold my hand”. You people are pathetic.

Uhh, that big story has been dicredited rather easily. Reid did nothing wrong. The AP writer is a known GOP partisan who has published 2 other false stories about Reid. Liberal media indeed!
Clinton used diplomacy to keep North Korea from developing nuclear weapons. Bush shunned diplomacy and tried to ignore North Korea. So they developed the bomb. Way to go Bush! The worst president ever managed to look worse! What an idiot!

AN INTERVIEW WITH MIKE LUCKOVICH
“Mike do you sleep well at night?”
“Nor really. To be able to draw cartoons, you must conceive them first and we all know that the best time to conceive is at night”
“I do not know how to interpret that answer, Mike. Am I to understand that you spend entire nights staring at the ceiling in your mansion thinking up the funny angles of the many situations of our everyday life?”
“You understand wrong. I stare all right but not at the ceiling of my mansion; it is more the leaky roof of my 16 foot trailer home”
“Fine, be that as it may. How do you get your ideas for your cartoons? Is it inspiration? Revenge? Hunger? Please enlighten me”
“Pure observation. For instance, I see Cynthia arrive every morning in a chauffer-driven Mercedes, listening to NPR and sipping on a ‘latte’, which is actually a ‘cafe latte’ that some idiot shortened to ‘latte’; latte means milk in Italian. Then I observe JimWotten arriving in his 50 thousand dollar YAMAHA motorcycle and carefully remove a rucksack full of Newt Ginrich speeches, Reverend Falwell inspirational sermons and letters from his investment banker in the Bahamas. Next I enjoy seeing Jay Bookman throw the keys of his Lamborghini to Freddie the AJC parking vice president, after having sailed up the Chattahoochee in his 400 thousand dollar titanium, chrome and teak Princess 65 motor yacht to the 14th Street Pier where he picks the Lamborghini and drives to the office . Maureen, Lyle, Mike and David arrive together every morning in a black, 60 foot long limmo with an Indonesian chauffeur and two ex-Delta Force body guards. They usually share a box of glazed doughnuts and a gallon or so of decaf on the way in.”
“So?”
“They b*** all day about how long it takes them to get from their palaces to the office, how their valets have to fix them breakfast at 5 am so that they can reach their offices at 10am. Then there are complaints about the hairdresser, their analyst and Hugo Chavez followed by comments about how terrible the traffic is, how expensive the gas, those crazies talking on their cells and trying to pass trucks going at 90 mph. Finally they emphasize their boredom at having to attend another boring lunch at the Ritz Carlton with boring guests and associates and having to go through the routine of tasting two or three of the supreme dry martinis served by André, their favorite wa

SAN JOSE DEL FRAGUA, Colombia - The United States is quietly cutting back economic aid in a region where cocaine production is surging, a strategy critics say hurts Washington’s $4 billion effort to try to wean Colombia off the illegal drug trade.
Six years and more than $4 billion in American tax dollars after Plan Colombia was launched in Caqueta, Colombia’s army is still fighting rebels here, and coca, the raw ingredient of cocaine, is still the region’s No. 1 cash crop.

This cartoon is bugs bunny funny, and also a sardonic slap at the american voter who is so easily diverted.
The voters will sacrifice the donkey on the political altar of our theo-democracy to appease the avenging angels of Foley’s Folly. (religion DOES make sense!)
We have an issue before the voters: the Iraq catastrophe…….wait, there’s a gay marriage ban….VOTE FOR THAT!!!!!
Americans have the president they deserve. Bush is a diplomat now. He’s all about diplomacy. Well, he’s never actually talked to the N. Koreans, but he knows that Clinton’s bilateral diplomatic efforts failed.
Now BUSH has only been prez for 6 years, so anything that happened in N. Korea in that timespan is not really on his watch. He would have to be president another 6 years for anything that happens to be on his administration’s watch. (fake rolex)
If anyone saw the news conference about N. Korea yesterday, then you know that we are in serious trouble. There really is no one in charge, and this man, W, is a loose cannon from sesame street. Every word was a contradiction of the word that came before it. I’ve really never heard anything like it.
If we manage to get out of W’s mess it will be because America has a better angel than the enemy has.

Democratic Party involvement in the Foley scandal should come as no surprise. The release of Rep. Mark Foley’s inappropriate e-mails on Congress’ last legislative day, when the Republican Party was starting to modestly revitalize its base heading into the election, certainly smacks of political maneuvering, not coincidence. Although members of the Democratic leadership have denied their party’s connection to the story, five of the Foley e-mails were in the hands of Democratic operatives for close to a year, at least, prior to the story becoming public, according to reports.-WashingtonPost

Hey Honu: David Warren’s back but he’s not being very nice to Clinton-
Given public (and dubious) opposition from China and Russia to the nuclear test Pyongyang now claims it has performed, given the weaknesses the test inevitably exposed, we must read the stunt as an act of malign cunning. Given the ease with which the North Korean leaders suckered ambassador Jimmy Carter, and the Clinton administration, in 1994, they know big threats can earn them big rewards. And with the Democrats poised to make large advances in the mid-term U.S. Congressional elections, they may be negotiating with idiots again, soon.-RealClearPolitics

Carter’s assignment of blame to Bush, like Clinton’s wail that he tried to get bin Laden and failed but Bush didn’t try, should be broadcast over and over across the nation. The Democrats’ approach to every foreign threat never varies, nor does its result. From Vietnam to pre-9-11 bin Laden, the Dems track record is something campaign ads could hang around their necks like the Old Mariner’s mill stone. The best news of the week is that RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman is intervening in close Senate races by buying ad time in Ohio, Tennessee and Missouri to help DeWine, Corker and Talent. Maybe there are a few national ads in the making, too.-RealClearPolitics

These past couple of weeks, current and former officials have been protesting that they were unfairly characterized in Woodward’s book - and have argued that conditions in Iraq are not as bad as alleged by anonymous sources. And while there have been on-the-record critics of all three books, none of the unnamed accusers cited in them has come forward. These virtual histories all allege a “state of denial” and lack of accountability on the part of government officials. Perhaps - but how odd then that the authors of “Cobra II,” “Fiasco” and “State of Denial” have used the very secrecy and subterfuge they claim to deplore in their targets.-RealClearPolitics

The economy is growing so strongly that, as the president said yesterday, he reached his goal of cutting the deficit in half — three years ahead of schedule. Now, I know they say only on rich people, but that’s — in my judgment, having been around here long enough to know, it’s just code word. They’re going to raise them on whoever they can raise them on.”-NYSun

Another brilliant offering by the best political cartoonist in the world. When the Swiss ABB corporation sold N.Korea its nuclear technology Donald Rumsfeld just “happened” to be on its Board of Directors. When Robert Mueller (later rewarded with the FBI position) pinned the $3B Dept of Agriculture “loan” to Saddam Hussein on a Buckhead yuppie employed by BNL/Atlanta, guess who “happened” to be on the Board of Directors in Rome, Italy of that country’s largest bank? David Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger…whom immediately resigned. Talk about former Roman Catholic altar boy/pedophile Mark Foley? What of George Bush’s 202 “social” visits by admitted homosexual prostitute “Jeff Gannon?”
The GOP is the “turkey” that needs its “neck” stretched for treason after the Dems (barring further vote fraud) are put in charge of Capitol Hill. Read “The New Pearl Harbor” or watch “Loose Change 2” if you’re not up to speed on Bush’s having provably committed 9-11.

ALG,
Part of the fun for the past few weeks has been watching the worst extremists of the gop trying to convince themselves they haven’t sh!t the bed with American voters. And the next three weeks should prove even more entertaining. I think there’s going to be some serious “woe-is-me”ing and gnashing of teeth by these awful neo-cons soon.
True, we can’t vote this incompetent bush administration out of office, but we can get rid of many of their thugs and cronies in congress.
It’s really unfortunate for this nation that the gop has blown most of the opportunities they had. You know, the ones about restoring dignity to our leadership. The ones about poersonal responsibility. The ones about providing true American conservatism, not this pitiful excuse we seen from them.
For the first time in 12 years I have a good feeling about what is going to happen in November. The party that came in with such fanfare and the Contract with America has done little more than prove that they too can be completely corrupted by power. The list of disgraced repubs in that time period is truly amazing. And now, it’s time to pay the piper.

Prove it is true! Using something other than your opinion. Why do wingnuts like you always ask for you yourself cannot prove? Plus the only proof you will take is from Fox News, the “news” channel (term used very loosely and probably incorrectly) that keeps identifying Pedophile Foley as a Democrat instead of the Republican that he is.
Facts, which you wingnuts hate:
Reid only profited $700,000, since he paid $400,000 for it. It was not the $1.1 million profit writer Solomon claimed.
Reid had owned the property for 6 years, which Solomon obliquely acknowledges later in the article, not less than three years as Solomon claimed in the lead paragraph.
There was no sale of the land in 2001, Reid merely transferred the title to a LLC, and his share of the land remained the same. No cash exchanged hands.
Reid reported ownership of the land to congress every year he owned it, from 1998 up until the 2004 sale.
No ethical rules or laws were broken.
Funny, you don’t seem to be jumping on Sonny Perdue and his transactions and his signing of the law giving himself a huge tax windfall of $100,000 reeks of impropriety.

In which American city do 60 bullet-riddled bodies turn up on a given day? In which city do the headless bodies of ordinary citizens turn up every single day? In which city would it NOT be news if neighborhood school children were blown up? In which neighborhood would you look the other way if gunmen came into restaurants and shot dead the customers?
Uhhhh, Sandy Springs? Buckhead? Marietta? Midtown? Oh, Andy the drunk LIKES to say that Georgia’s riskier than Iraq. It’s the rotgut talking.

If I may, an observation from Politics 101:
If, during your administration
something good happens, take credit something bad happens, point out the previous administration’s policies/actions/inactionsIf the good news involves economic matters, ignore lag times (time from legislation/enactment of policies to tangible effects) which can be 6 months to 2 or more years.
If the bad news involves economic matters: - point out lag times of previous administration’s actions/inactions
These basic principles hold true in most circumstances. However, even knowing them, it will not keep people from shamelessly ignoring them in order to attempt to score “points” in political discussions concerning (fill in the blank).

WASHINGTON - America’s trade deficit hit an all-time high as record imports of oil swamped a solid gain in U.S. exports. The politically sensitive deficit with China set a record, a point that Democrats are sure to use in attacking President Bush’s trade policies in the closing weeks of the battle for Congress.
The deficit rose to $69.9 billion in August, up 2.7 percent from July’s $68 billion deficit, which had also been a record.
Republican ‘Big Government’ has bankrolled ‘Big Business’ in order to puff-up the market to give the false appearance of a good economy. The problem is that the Republicans continue to BORROW money that America hasn’t earned in order to continue to try to ‘Fool ALL of the people ALL of the Time’ and try to convince us that the economy is robust when it is really teetering on the verge of bankruptcy ! ! !

Here’s a fun poll. Seems the sensible folks among the Religious Right realize that the Karl Rove and the BushBots have been USING them! (D’OH!!)
PRINCETON, NJ — An analysis of USA Today/Gallup poll trend data indicates that while Democrats have made gains across the board on the generic Congressional ballot in the latest Oct. 6-8 survey, the change has been greater among religious whites than among less religious whites and among non whites. At this point, religious whites are equally as likely to say they will vote Democratic as Republican, a marked change from their strong tilt towards the Republicans in surveys conducted June through September.
Note that this poll was taken BEFORE Foley’s resignation Oct. 11th.
Maybe this shift is happening because honest Christians are finally realizing that BushBot promises about their “faith based initiatives” aren’t worth squat.

We can (and should) debate the economy and fiscal responsibility, corruption in politics, the success/failure of our education system, the environment, our reliance on foreign oil, alternative energy, our Constitution, abortion, civil liberties, etc. But we should never forget, not even for a moment:

Bi-Granny, you ignorant twit. Compared to other Manhattan neighborhoods, the Upper East Side has the highest number of Republicans. They’re still a minority, but less of a minority than they are in Gramercy Park, Greenwich Village or the Upper West Side. I never said they were the majority.
The endorsements and poll numbers made for a confident Pataki camp on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. A few volunteers tried their luck in this Republican enclave, handing out pamphlets on street corners.

It’s what the libs wanted, yet the only excerpt they take from it is that Baker disagrees with Bush on the plan for Iraq.
Also, take into consideration that recommendations will be released after the November elections. It doesn’t look political to me. It looks like a pragmatic approach. One that a sensible leader, and not a typical politician would employ.
Bush is giving it a chance and will review. All Democrats ever do is want their unreasonable demands met. They have never offered anything that can be seen as reasonable. It’s all politics with them.

If your college kid were to be arrested in Bangkok or Cairo, suspected of “crimes against the state” and held in prison, you’d assume that an American foreign service officer would be able to speak to your kid and arrange for a lawyer, but this may not be true anymore. so many republican posters, i seriously doubt any of these ppl are making 200k+/yr….so there you go…the old adage that only rich ppl and idiots vote republican holds true.
you guys are getting the CEOs and inheritors of this country tickled to death when they see so many poor retards fighting so vehemently for their multi-million$ tax cuts. I hand it to them they really have fooled the average poor man in this country…and do you know what that makes you when you get fooled? a fool.
the one issue that gets the vast majority of these poor idiots to vote against their best interests is abortion. abortion = established law. and what exactly has the republican white house, congress, and supreme court done about this established law??? nothing. why? because it’s established.
so what are bush and the republicans doing for you besides taking money out of the social programs/gov’t salaries/college aide your non-rich family needs?

RW - From the wiki (yeah I know)
Before September 2004 the group was called Jama’at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad (Arabic: جماعة التوحيد والجهاد, Monotheism and Holy War Group) The group’s name, which is usually abbreviated as JTJ, purposely contrasts the strict monotheism of Islam with the “God in three persons” of the Christian Trinity, which it sees as polytheism. The present name associates the group directly with the international Al-Qaeda network, and also uses a name for Iraq (The Land of the Two Rivers, cf. Mesopotamia) associated with the early Islamic period.

RW - Fair enough! Before the invasion Zarqawi was all over the place, so I’ll start you in:
1989, Zarqawi travelled to Afghanistan to join the insurgency against the Soviet invasionInstead of fighting, he became a reporter for an Islamist newsletter. In the mid-1990s, Zarqawi travelled to Europe and started the al-Tawhid paramilitary organization, a group dedicated to installing an Islamic regime in Jordan.
Zarqawi was arrested in Jordan in 1992, and spent five years in a Jordanian prison for conspiring to overthrow the monarchy to establish an Islamic caliphate. Upon his release from prison in 1999, fled Jordan and travelled to Peshawar, Pakistan, near the Afghanistan border where he establish a militant training camp near the Iranian border.
After the September 11 attacks, Zarqawi again travelled to Afghanistan and joined Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters resisting the U.S.-led invasion. In the summer of 2002, Zarqawi was reported to have settled in northern Iraq, where he joined the Islamist Ansar al-Islam group that fought against the Kurdish-nationalist forces in the region.
As far as Saddam goes: While some contacts between agents of Saddam’s government and members of al-Qaeda have been alleged, the consensus of experts and analysts has held that those contacts never led to an “operational” relationship. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence concluded that there was only one actual meeting between representatives of the Baathist regime and representatives of al-Qaeda. This single meeting took place in the Sudan in 1995.

Thats easy RW —(1:13)
Prior to the Invasion of Iraq (as well as Afghanistan), Saddam’s Bathist party were the rule of Iraq. All other groups were of no importance to the Bathist. They were the law of the land.
The Sunni’s (a muslim religeous faction) were the prime religious order under Bathist rule in Iraq.
The Shiites (Also a Muslim faction) were popular and tolerated to some extent in Iraq, but they were mostly associated with Iraq’s neighboring enemy Iran.
The Kurds (countryless exiles) were considered invaders of Iraq as well as Turkey and other nations. Kurds often made raids on Iraq and Iraq Bathist often hunted and attacked Kurd villiages.
Al Quieda did not exist in Iraq prior to the invasion of Iraq. As a matter of fact the Al Quieda were insignificant in any affairs until after the invasion of Afghanistan. There were Taliban that were trying to deal with Saddam, but he refused to deal with the Taliban (order) as they were extremist that had already made enemys of most all ligitimate muslim states.
The Al Quieda were a group under the Taliban (one of many warlord groups). The Taliban were an extremist religeous order (cult would be a better word), that had gained political control of Afghanistan after Russia pulled out.
The Al Quieda became powerful as their terrrorist actions for the Taliban became legend, and their ultimate success led by Bin Laden during 9-11. With that the Al Quida gained many more members and began expanding in secret into many countries with the intent to gain allies in all countries.
The only thing that Al Quieda and Saddam had in common, was that they both hated America. Saddam had refused the Taliban and Al-Quida, and would have nothing to do with them. They were a threat to his rule. Even when they offerred their help against the USA during the invasion he rejected them as fanatics.
Zarqawi was a Shiite Iraqi who the Taliban and Al Quida had influenced. Zarqawi had broken away from the Bathist. Many Shiites supported the Taliban as well (Iran being similar in fanaticism).
Zarqawi was a great recruiter for Al Quida (after) the USA invasion and easily convinced many Iraqi’s to join their cause.
Saddam (and Iraq) had nothing to do with it at all!

Don’t you see the irony in the fact that the people our military are fighting now are the same people Saddam had under control.

RW is just twisting (and in this case making up) words —
I never suggested in my post anywhere that Zarqawi was trying to take out Saddam. It was more likely that he was hiding from Saddam when he was in Iraq.
There is also evidence that at one time he recieved medical treatment in Baghdad after combat in Afghanistan. But absolutly nothing that links or suggest that he had connections to Saddam. Most all evidence points the other way as Saddam was seeking him for arrest after the Baghdad hotel bombing.
The only error I see in my original post was that Zarqawi was not a Shiite, nor a Bathist. I confused that with another person of interest.

Midori —
There probably in their secret lab think tank planning their next attack here. (lol)
RW (and company) have their own right wingnut website that he, Buy Danish, Dusty and crew post on regularly. They just come to ML’s blog to Propagandize and throw trash at his great cartoons. They fear Mike’s pen.
They try to trash any post that points out the Republicans mistakes and blunders. They then point to wing-nut rags that use mis-information and clipped quotes that are not the complete story.
I half expect Karl Rove to come in someday wearing a “DR. Evil” Costume, then point at RW and say: “I think I’ll call him Mini-Me!”

I won’t support the weakness in a person who fails to step up to the plate and be who they(he) are/is, while asking people to give credibility to their(his) argument. I don’t think the two should be separated.
You’re right, my gender should never stand in the way of being confronted by anyone. I was just curious why you like to verbally tussle with women. When I’m here, I like to verbally tussle with you.
I never take anything too seriously. The problem I have with cheap shots (like the one Midori took immediately after I announced I was gone) is that it displays cowardice. It demonstrates once again the callous disregard and disrespect Jack Murtha feels toward anyone who dares to utter a word in opposition to him — the same kind of disregard and disrespect he showed again yesterday, when, in a fundraising solicitation he wrote on behalf of a radical left-wing organization, he wrote of those who disagree with him, and I quote, ‘screw them.’

Later folks..
Well I could waste my evening with this tin-can of spin-nuts. Instead I think I will now do something much more constructive! Yep! I’ll go home and watch mindless TV.
Great Toon Mike!, and right on target..
Pointing the feather — err — finger and passing the buck (donkey) has become the GOP mantra, and they certainly are not owning up to their mistakes. They are definitly not taking responsibility for any of their actions. You see the Bush-Bots do everything (BUT!) hold this administration responsible for any their acts, right here every day. Yeah Tow that Party line - repeat that mantra - Bush is flawless - he is god!
Just remember folks - If It walks like a chickenhawk, smells like a chickenhawk, squawkes like a chickenhawk, then most likely it’s a TurkeyHawk!
G’night yah GOP FeatherBrains! And God Bless The President and his Mess!

By Midori October 12, 2006 06:44 PM Andy, I think you secretly (well not so secretly) want to blow Finch. Is that the root of your obession with him?
Broom Rider Hag: Are you talking to the fake Andy/bonscott or are you talking to me?
I thought finch wasn’t here anymore?
You should look up the definition of the word “obsession” and then compare it to the 50 posts finch has to today that have my name in them.
You little toadie.

Saying it’s Andy with an obsession for finch is about the most delusional 180 degree off base comment I’ve ever seen.
I still say the faux Andy today sounds more like Polly, but maybe finchie’s practicing.

Clarity seems to come late for Midori, if ever. She acknowledged finch’s presence here with her 6:00 post.
Nobody knows finch better than Midori.

RE/Getalife,
Say it ain’t so! Karl Rove calls some people “nuts” or “ridiculous”? OMG. I wonder what he calls you idiot Libs? Where is THAT book?
Have fun embracing Kuo - he sounds like a whiny opportunist, so he’s perfect for your scandal du jour.

Midori, rushncap… I made the mistake of clicking on a post here from RW the aboriginal a few weeks ago that took me to his blog.
What a circle-jerk. Although I loved the stuff about hacking here after hours. How two-faced can you get?
By drunken Andy the pederast - October 12, 2006 06:36 PM - You’ve got to be kidding me, right? You little pantywaist metrosexual.
That’s your “humble and small” Andy. Noooooo he NEVER hurls slop. And he doesn’t have sexual issues. (/sarcasm)
Twit. Have another drink.
Goodnight to all you Repug blog troggs! Especially you, drunken Andy. I know you have to rest up so you can spam us with those nonsensical links to RealClear, The New Nazi Sun and the Washingtoon Slimes. They DO reflect your (absence of a) brain quite well.
Hope your mythical finch monster doesn’t ruin too much of your sleep!! S/he really isn’t hiding under your bed or behind the sink. Remember, if you drink enough, you won’t dream!!!
Go ahead. I’ll never tell.

Is 7:01 the very definition of “obsessed” or what?
I’m consuming this losers whole world.
I hope he doesn’t have a dog, if he does he’s probably kicking it right now.
I give him a week before he’ll be re institutionalized, that’ll be so nice, no more insanity.
Until he escapes again.

You know you always come to my blog from a google search and I bet you can’t find this mythical link here that took you to my blog “a few weeks ago” or the conversation you claim to have read.

Apparently Sybil never got over that “oddball gay finch” name you used to call him. Sensitive little queen that bonnie.
