So why hasn’t cartoon boy denounced this?:
An elite group of Zionist Jews inter-marry and infest government. They call themselves Neo-cons, and their sole purpose is directing US policy. Most are dual-citizens and none of them have ever served in the US military.-JudicialInc.
The double standard offered by the left is stunning. You can get away with murder, see Hezbollah, as long is it is in the name of liberalism.

Buddhist scriptures don’t say negative things about Hindus, Jews, Muslims or Christians. Neither do Hindu scriptures say bad things about other religions. But the New Testament attacks Jews who do not believe those unbelievable things about Jesus, and the Koran attacks both Christians and Jews for unbelief in the prophet Muhammed. Thus Christianity and Islam preach hate and intolerance. The Jewish scriptures preached hate and intolerance of paganism.
We’ll all be better off when the last Christian is strangled in the entrails of the last Muslim.

Good skewer of Mr. Gibson, maker of the most successful snuff film ever.
Mel is one of the point men at the unholy amalgamation of Catholicism and American Evangelical KKKhristianity. He surprised a nation full of dimwitted fundies with his Passion of the Christ, where he portrayed Christ’s last days with a whole lotta blood and gore. Given the reaction to the movie, evidently most fundies were unaware of the story of Jesus’ crucifixion. Like many of their conman preachers, Gibson took the fundamentalists’ moronic stupidity to the bank. It is impossible to overestimate the stupidity of the American fundies, who are the backbone of the GOP.

Thanks candide, for that wonderful imagery of the last sentence, a day we can all pray for.
Did you see Kingdom of Heaven? Not a great flick, but the battle scenes of fundie KKKhristian KKKrusaders and Muslims in the desert hacking each other to pieces were heartwarming.
Let’s bring back the good old days of the KKKrusades - send these rednecks on a mission from Gawd to the Middle East - arm them with big sticks and knives and hot oil. Gather the Muslims together to fight them. Last one standing wins.

Rednecks: right on! You fully understand how precarious is our nation, with so many mindless fundies in charge. Only a fool would take the ravings of the biblical writers seriously. All the apocalyptic writings were the product of deseased minds. In truth, Christianity is a serious form of mental illness. Compared to Christianity Islam is relatively simple and even sensible, although it shares with all the biblical faiths intolerance, fanaticism, and dementia.

If Armageddon comes it will not be because those crazy biblical writers could tell the future. It will come because too many Americans believe these delusions. They direct our foreign policy accordingly and will bring about Armageddon.
Unfortunately there are not enough psych wards to hold all the fundies who need incarceration. We could at least begin by incarcerating Bush. That would be a therapeutic step.

What are you people talking about? The New Testament changed nothing. Christians honor God’s covenant with his people, the Jews. Many non-denominational conservatives support principles of Christian philosophy or any other philosophy whereby good will triumph over evil. Israel’s guilty for wanting to exist? When did that become wrong?
Steve is right, the Muslim hatred for Jews existed long before Christianity as we know it.
One man’s God is another man’s moral compass. Jihadists irrational logic is evil and not based in today’s Islam.
Support Israel’s right to a peaceful existence within their homeland.

Besides, it is a well known fact entire books were removed from the New Testament and the entire thing was carefully edited. I can’t believe how simple minded people can be. Stop reading the bible so laterally. It was never meant to be taken that way. Evolution happens in everything around us, from the universe, to galaxies, to stars, to solar systems, to plants, and to us. It’s a natural order of things. “Things” just do not flash into existence. It has taken nearly 14 BILLION years to get to where we are today.
You want a transitional fossil, well here you go: http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/diapsids/birds/archaeopteryx.html
“It has long been accepted that Archaeopteryx was a transitional form between birds and reptiles, and that it is the earliest known bird. Lately, scientists have realized that it bears even more resemblance to its ancestors, the Maniraptora, than to modern birds; providing a strong phylogenetic link between the two groups. It is one of the most important fossils ever discovered.”
Stop being so closed mined and open your eyes, stop trying to bring the US back to the middle ages. How do you expect our children to become the leaders and thinkers of the world when we expect them to believe in hocus-pocus and symbolic stories?

Why do you invoke the Bible in your response to me? Do you have any transitional fossils that haven’t been debunked by paleontologists? Archaeropteryx has relatives in the fossil record for millions of years after it’s existence that had it’s exact characteristics and there is nothing that shows it evolving into modern day birds.

If we were created for someone by someone for their enjoyment, then why would we need all these extra animals and plants so many hundreds, thousands, and millions of years ago, what purpose did they serve? Why were they needed? Why were the early “humans” so different than us? Were they not good enough? Were they created in someone’s image? If all the previous “Humans” were the same as us, then why do their skeletal structures look so different? If the creator needs only us, then why did we need previous “versions” of humans? I guess it was a bit of trial and error till they got it right…

I’ve spent way too much time on a evolution-creation board. What I’ve learned is that anti-evolutionists will accept nothing as evidence, they know next to nothing about science or the scientific method, and are fanatically, belligerantly ignorant. They have no arguments beyond “Piltdown man”, they have no data beyond “The Bible Says So” (or, occasionally, the discredited “Darwin’s Black Box”), they have nothing. So there is nothing to debate.
I work in a lab. In a university. The percentage of people from Asia (Indians, Chinese, Japanese, etc) keeps increasing, both in physical and life sciences. Does not bother me too much, but eventually America will lose its scientific and competitive edge. This is almost certain. If people like RW want to help speed that along, all I can do is try to slow them down. But they hate America, and are far more active at undermining it.

wOOt,
You’ll have to get someone else to attempt the theological set of questions you asked, but your trial and error is exactly what you want us to believe evolution is. Trial and error with survivability determined through natural selection.
When you show fossils of fully functional species becoming other fully functional species it doesn’t prove anything that supports your theory. To prove Darwin’s theory you would have thousands of transitional fossils between each functional species that had been snuffed out through natural selection.

uh, RW, thats what the fossil record shows. You’re horse model is exactly that, it shows the transition of a primitive horse to a modern horse.
“When you show fossils of fully functional species becoming other fully functional species it doesn’t prove anything that supports your theory. To prove Darwin’s theory you would have thousands of transitional fossils between each functional species that had been snuffed out through natural selection.”
There is no point in this and would be near impossible to do. The changes from one transitional fossil to another would be so insignificant and moot there would be no point in showing it. The changes would not be limited to just bones, but would also include the color or fur, feathers, scales, internal organs, behavioral habits, and many other aspects. What the fossil records show is that they are linked to a common ancestor through very similar bone structures.
The reason why our education system is failing is because there are certain groups that are pushing their agendas for the dumbing down on America while other nations excel in Math and science. Not only that, the new thing seems to be that it is ok to ridicule individuals who believe in certain areas of science. It’s like a 21st century witch hunt. He believes in evolution, attach stones to a feet and see if he floats!

Apparently what qualifies her to sit in judgement on the questions of science in the state is that she has taught first graders for 6 years and is a co-owner of a plumbing business. Oh, and she’s enough of a luminary to have an autobiography (didn’t I see it on the NY Times bestseller list?) about how Jesus brought her out of poverty and incest. rushncap,
Nobody said a thing about a viable half an half creature roaming around. The whole idea behind Darwin’s idea of natural selection is that through millions of random mutations the change for the better would evolve and the less desirable wouldn’t survive. Surely you should have some undesirable mutant fossil around.
The funny thing is that you accuse people of being troglodytes for having faith, but you are asking people to believe a theory that can’t hold up to the tiniest of scrutiny and becomes less evident through advances in modern science. You guys are the snake charmers here.

Your little ankle biter pal said that the modern horse came from a series of evolutions that are illustrated in the handy little chart we have all seen. HE or SHE said that what the chart tells us is correct and that modern horse can be traced back millions of years through the multiple evolutionary steps in the fossil record.
I show you that they coexisted millions of years ago and did not go through the multiple steps in your chart and you claim that as proof that I am wrong.

Ah, if I remember correctly, you have absolutely NOTHING to go by, all you have is a bunch of hearsay.
There is an OVERWELMING amount of evidence for the theory of evolution. You trying to say that evolution does not exists says that the world and the universe is static. This is not anywhere near the case.

RW, how much life science education have you had?
Evolution has held up to over 150 years of very intense scrutiny, and has established itself as the pre-eminent life science theory. The only place it doesn’t “hold up” is in the Baptist Church. Fortunately, people who matter don’t really care about that.
As for “undesirable mutants” — no, you would not have them in the fossil record. There would be far far too few to leave a trace.
I have no idea what my 9:09 post was.
Oh, and RW, I’ll take pity on you. I’ll quickly explain how 2 specias can both co-exist AND one of the species descended from the other. This is a rather simplistic (and, strictly speaking, not an entirely correct, but good enough) analogy, but: did you “coexist” with your father? Your grandfather? How?????
Oh, and I’ve had a few real world jobs, one of them being in a biotechnology company. You won’t find many anti-evolutionists there: their money and their product actually depends on them being correct.

So tell me then RW, why were there so many various versions of plants and animals in the past? Why haven’t humans been around for 4.6 billion years? If our “design” is good enough, why didn’t we just appear? You cannot go from basic elements such as carbon and oxygen to complex systems in a matter of years or even hundreds of years. It took steps to get to where we are today. We are the end product of our environment and the trail and error of different systems over the past 4.6 billion years. Could it be that there were so many other versions of plants and animals so that they were at balance with their environment and living conditions at their time that constantly change through the course of the Earth’s history? Gradually the Earth’s plates move the continents around the globe causing climate change, mountains rise, and plants growth dies or thrives. Even the Earth is evolving, nothing was ever static here, and that is why plants and animals have had to evolve. They have to adapt to their environment or face certain extinction, and that is what they call survival of the fittest. There is a chain and has always been a chain, people just refuse to see it.
These basic facts allow scientist to come up with the theory of evolution to explain why there is a vast assortment of animals and plants through out the Earth’s history.
Is that so hard to understand?

In the US: ‘Belief in creationism is inversely correlated to education; of those with post-graduate degrees, only 22% believe in strict creationism.”
“In Europe, creationism is a less well-defined phenomenon, and regular polls are not available. However, evolution is taught as scientific fact in most schools. In countries with a Roman Catholic majority, papal acceptance of evolution as worthy of study has essentially ended debate on the matter for many people.”

When you ask a creo a question like this, there are 2 possible situations. Situation 1, the creo is really really stupid (i.e. Danish or li’l andy stupid), they answer, you make your analogy, they throw out a bunch of cuss words or epithets and move on. Situation 2, slightly less stupid creos, like RW here, see what’s coming, see that they’re going to get whalloped, so they refuse to answer the question, and start sputtering about something else. It didn’t appear that RW was questioning either/or originally. I think when everybody overlooked -shoving- & -absolute truth-, in his post, they missed the point of his post entirely. He seemed to be willing to discuss the issue. One individual and RW had a good discussion going, but the rest of the morons got in the way.

How come, over the course of human history, we have never seen or recorded ONE case of a species evolving, any species? If what you silly pinkos are saying is true, that we human beings were created from pond scum into a highly organized, co dependent, living, breathing mass of neurons and protein, shouldn’t the many millions of animals, plants and organisms have at least changed once in our history? SSDD, That is one fantastic quote! And really just highlights the enormous difficulty in having rational conversations with irrational people. People like yourself, rushncap and I could present evidence til we’re all old men; there is no educating or changing those who will not see.
Take RW for example. He’s clearly not an idiot like his on-line pals here, but nonetheless, in his fervor to be a good republican and fit in with the flat-earth crowd, will look for the tiniest molehill to discount an ever-growing mountain of scientific evidence. So he goes on his merry way pretending to believe evolution is voodoo. (And as an aside that the earth’s climate has not been severely and negatively impacted by man.) Oh sure, he’ll tell you that evolution and climate warming are just theories, blah, blah, blah. What he won’t say is that science is in the business of constantly learning and growing and finding new answers. Of course, it’s not perfect (like the baby jesus). Religion is in the business of suppressing ALL answers and extinguishing the light of knowledge.
These religionists (particularly christians and muslims) and their uneducated supporters have been wrong every step of the way in recorded human history on these matters. They have a undeniably violent past and a horrific track record in dealing with those who disagreed with their beliefs. Left to the worst of them, there would be no modern medicine, no growing understanding of the cosmos, nothing left on this planet unpolluted and ruined. Andy,
STDS and Huge have reminded of your theory. The one that goes “frisk the liberal first, it saves time.”
I was going to let STDS “Inherit the Wind” revisionism of the Scopes trial pass, but now pseudo-intellectual Huge chimes in.
Anyone interested in reading the true story should read “Summer of the Gods” by Edward J. Larson. In it you will find that the 1955 portrayals made famous by “Inherit the Wind” are just a load of Hollywood crap. Although this was Broadway crap first.
In the true story the ACLU advertised that they would pay the full cost of any trial for someone to agree to be prosecuted. Dayton, Tn. decided this was a good way to put the town on the map and the circus ensued. Scopes wasn’t even a Biology teacher by trade, but substituted from time to time. The ACLU paid both sides costs for the trial and all discussions with regard to religion took place without the jury present. William Jennings Bryan wasn’t the overbearing oaf he was made out to be anymore than Clarence Darrow was the thoughtful genius intent on saving the Constitution. By the way, the case was a misdemeanor and Scopes had never actually taught evolution in a classroom. They didn’t have to add perjury though because he never took the stand. Never spent a minute in jail either.

And yet, to a greater or lesser extent, even the world’s most powerful and stubborn men have felt the need to pay their respects to world opinion — unwise a thing as world opinion usually is. Even Adolf Hitler, with all his insane hate and contempt for mankind (plus the strongest military force in the world at the time), felt the need to call his unprovoked invasion of Poland a “counter-attack” in his Sept. 1, 1939, Reichstag speech. Of course, there was no Polish attack to “counter.” He carefully preceded that lie with headlines the previous week in the German press such as: “Complete Chaos in Poland,” “German Families Flee,” ” Polish Soldiers Push To Edge of German Border,” “This Playing With Fire Going Too Far,” “Three German Passenger Planes Shot At By Poles” and “In Corridor Many German Farmhouses In Flames.” Once again, none of those Polish deprivations of Germans happened — except in the Nazi headlines. In a new book, “Work Over Welfare,” Brookings Institution senior fellow Ron Haskins — a top Republican congressional staffer during the welfare debate — cites much evidence of success. Their incomes generally rose. Many qualified for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, which subsidizes low-income workers. Lawyers, of course, get a big percentage of any award, but to cover what the lawyers take, the price tags of all consumer goods are a little higher. Life-saving products are especially penalized by the “lawyer tax.” A manufacturer who produces pacemakers says lawsuits add thousands of dollars to the cost of every pacemaker. Lawsuits punish hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent people. What’s worse is that fear of lawsuits now deprives us of things that make our lives better.-RealClearPolitics
Why are embryonic stem cells so important when we could save far more lives by choking off all of the democrat trial lawyers?
