I know you pinkos would rather we just forgot about this but the last time you had an opportunity to provide “competent leadership” in that office, those National Guard troops would have been replaced with a bunch of strippers. And they wouldn’t be on a “temporary” basis either.

Don’t feel bad, though, Al Qaeda misses those “glorious” days also.

Expanding border fencing and barriers is essential. This too will send a message to the world that we are serious about enforcement. Again, this clear message will result in fewer attempted crossings and reduced arrests. Indeed, Homeland Security Secretary Mike Chertoff recently told some senators that he favors 350 miles of new fencing plus 500 miles of vehicle barriers.A clear statement of affirmation of this policy by the president and immediate commencement of construction is needed.

In addition to utilizing the National Guard at the border, the president needs to call on the 700,000 state and local law enforcement officers to be the eyes and ears of immigration law enforcement. There are now fewer than 20,000 federal immigration enforcement officers. When state and local officers apprehend illegals in the course of their work and call on federal enforcement officers, federal immigration law enforcement must respond to them. The president must lead on this issue. It is so bad now that state and local officers don’t even bother to call.

Finally, the liberals are starting to make their position on immigration clear for all to see:

Also Tuesday, Mexico warned that it would file lawsuits in U.S. courts if National Guard troops being sent to the border become directly involved in detaining migrants.

File lawsuits with who? Do they know some pinko judge like the gays do?

More than 6,700 motion sensors on fences and under the ground along the southern border from Texas to California are supposed to give early warning of illegal entry. But animals often set them off. “A lot of times we end up chasing cows,” acknowledged Corina Robison, customs spokeswoman in Washington.

I guess the libs figure that “chasing cows” is a bigger problem then some terrorist with a nuke walking across into San Diego.

Thanks for letting us know where you stand on our future.

Even the polls cited by USA Today, could only come up with a 51 to 43 percent disapproval by Americans of the NSA database, as initially reported by the paper. Nowhere the same attention was given to Question 7 in the poll: “If you knew the federal government had those phone records, would you be very concerned, somewhat concerned, not too concerned, or not concerned at all?” Not too concerned and not concerned at all were 64 percent of respondents. By contrast, just 35 percent were very concerned or somewhat concerned.

The latter result was also borne out by a Washington Post-ABC poll conducted the day the USA Today story was all over the news. It turned out that 65 percent of Americans think it is more important for the government to investigate terrorist threats than to never intrude on their privacy.

After watching the documentary “Loose Change,” I did something that’s still bothering me.

First I looked up images of the plane crash at the World Trade. Thousands are online, of course, since it was the biggest plane-crash event in history.

Then, I tried to find one picture of airplane wreckage at the Pentagon. No such picture exists anywhere. You can see the Pentagon burning, but no plane! No wings, no tail section, nothing. There is one engine much too small for a commercial airliner, and a small piece that looks like the nose of a missile. But no pictures of any crashed airplane.

Then I tried to find one picture of the United 93 wreckage. No picture of that exists, either, only a picture of a small hole in the ground. Again, no tail section, no wings, no fuselage, no engines, nothing.

Neither of these events appear to be plane crashes. Please prove me wrong! I am freaked out right now. Why are there no images of two of the four most famous plane crashes in history?

Leroy,

Relax, dude. There are some really important things to freak out about, like GLOBAL WARMING!

Flight 92 went down in a field in Shanksville, PA. Is it possible that the local farmers didn’t have their Instamatic cameras pointed towards the sky, ready to take photos of, I don’t know, maybe cloud formations of bird migrations?

That security camera at the Pentagon? Maybe, just maybe, it is not designed to capture images of objects moving at 600 MPH?

Hey, here’s an idea! Why doesn’t the Federal government simpy go after the large companies hiring thousands of illegals every year??? If there was no work for the illegals, they would head home on their own. But this administrative is so connected to big business that they will never give up that wonderful cheap labor force. Big business is making a fortune on all that cheap labor and breaking unions at the same time!

I found the President’s speech to be the comprehensive plan which he promised. I hope partisan politics will get out of the way and finally do something about this long-standing problem.

My understanding is that the National Guard is a shoring up behind Border Patrol and will be utilized in construction, training, and implementation of technology. Who better to address this need?

When I think about the Border Patrol agents who have been killed on duty in the past, without outrage from previous administrations, it’s obvious where their priorities were. Something is better than nothing.

So both planes completely vaporized?

If you look at the Pentagon picture in Andy’s link, you’ll see that the stricken portion of the Pentagon is still in flames and the roof has not yet collapsed. So there should be pieces of an airplane right there at the impact. Again, no wings, no tail, nothing.

Airliners are made of tons and tons of carbon fiber and steel. They do not vanish when they crash. Look at any other plane crash on land. Huge pieces of stuff left everywhere.

I could maybe understand if there was little or no wreckage from ONE plane, but BOTH planes on the same day?

I don’t have a “conspiracy theory” worked out. I’m just pointing out the obvious here. It’s there for anyone who looks.

Why wasn’t the hole as wide as a 757’s 124-ft.-10-in. wingspan? A crashing jet doesn’t punch a cartoon-like outline of itself into a reinforced concrete building, says ASCE team member Mete Sozen, a professor of structural engineering at Purdue University. In this case, one wing hit the ground; the other was sheared off by the force of the impact with the Pentagon’s load-bearing columns, explains Sozen, who specializes in the behavior of concrete buildings. What was left of the plane flowed into the structure in a state closer to a liquid than a solid mass.

If so, why is there no sheared-off wing outside the Pentagon, either in Andy’s link or any other picture?

Regarding illegal immigrants, only 20% of the nations undocumented immigrants are from Mexico. Also, the strong reaction against illegal immigrants in Georgia requires me to make this point. Georgians need some minority group(s)to discriminate against. For 300 years, it was African-Americans. Now it is these immigrants and gays. You see, discrimination is in every Georgian’s blood - part of their heritage their always crowing about.

No explanation is offered for the complete vaporization of United 93. According to the article, the wreckage of both plane wings should have been laying on the Pentagon lawn. It was not. Good toon ML. Love the “Buck Stops Here” sign. Why do the NG guys look like refugees from a Colombian FARC camp?

Good to see the blog up and running again if only on a limited basis. I rarely have any time to post during regular day hours but I know that this is an important venue for many people who are, for whatever reason, shut-ins. It is critical for those isolated by factors outside of their control to have some human interaction. I was introduced to the concept by interaction with children requiring long hospital stays.

I’m anxious to see the next generation of blogging hit the public sector. Full motion video/audio has replaced the written word and students are now attending their schools in virtual reality. The technology is already available (though too expense for individual bloggers at present) and is a wonderful adjunct in the clinical setting.

In an age when technology is eroding our personal freedoms and stifling desent (NSA) it is nice to, also, note that technology is giving a voice and comfort to those who would otherwise have none.

It’s pointless to throw around pre-2003, pre “Iraq has no WMDs?” quotes. I don’t care what Bush or Powell or Kerry or Gore said. They were all equally misled.

It’s clear the CIA bolloxed it. Like the CIA’s bolloxed up other notable events.

This is the same CIA that was caught with it’s pants down when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989. Outside of the 4 Carter years, the CIA had been GOP administration territory since 1969. And that’s my point. This is beyond partisan. If wingnuts stop blaming CIA stupidity over Iraq on Clinton, I’ll stop blaming CIA stupidity in 1989 on the GOP.

I’m not going to blame CIA incompetence on any political party. And at this point, after the welcome departure of Porter (this job’s too hard!) Goss, General Michael Hayden heading the CIA sounds good. Kinky Friedman heading the CIA sounds good.

Maybe Gen. Hayden can examine why the CIA continued to pander it’s “Saddam has massive WMD’s” dance long after the rest of the world, including the Brits, were questioning it. He can also look into why the Bush gang was so eager to “fix facts around the policy” when Iran has been the loose cannon in the mideast all along.

Second guessing? No. Learn from your mistakes.

It’s hard to argue with the claim that a 757 hit the Pentagon on 9/11.

But FBI-Justice Department secrecy over that fuzzy Pentagon tape confuses me. Why hide tape that dovetails with your account of events? For five years?

And there are other videos from other non-military places that could have shown the crash. For starters, there’s all the cameras that Virginia’s DOT has along Shirley Highway (I-395) and Washington Boulevard (27), which link in a massive interchange right next to the Pentagon.

Here’s an aerial shot.

There were other locations with cameras nearby.

All these tapes have vanished. I still think Flight 77 hit the Pentagon, just as we’ve been told, but I have to wonder. Is anything being supressed, and if so, why?

I explicitely remember the story from Woodward’s book about Tenet presenting the “Iraq=WMD” case to Bush and even Bush going “Is this the best you got?!” This spawned the now-infamous “slam-dunk” quote by Tenet, but what people forget that not even someone as obviously stupid (by Presidential standards, at the very least) as Shrub Jr. bought the CIA’s case. Wow, all this time I thought li’l andy had no idea what the term “discernible” means. I did not fully appreciate the fact that he has no idea what the term “no” means.

I’ll go over this very very slowly, li’l andy, so that there is a chance, albeit a tiny one, that you will follow me. When I said that you have “lack of discernible education” that means that “any education that you might have had at some point in your life was not visible, obvious, or, to use the definition you provided ‘perceptible’ to anyone on this board”. To put it yet another way, “lack of discernible education” means “you either have no education whatsoever, or the one that you have is so meager and insignificant that it is irrelevant”. You see, the term “lack of” means “absense” or “nonexistence of”.

Now I know I used a lot of grown-up words there, li’l andy, but if you carefully go over each one, look them up in a dictionary, and maybe ask your mommy, I think even you can figure out what I was saying there.

We all knew that Saddam Hussein was an evil dictator, as are many other leaders around the world. However, the Dems never started a pre-emptive war on Iraq because we knew we had too many conficting reports from the CIA analysts saying that Saddam was only huffing and bluffing about WMDs. We had inspections done on the ground in Iraq and they confirmed that Saddam had no stockpiles. Bush and his goons had these same reports when coming to Washington DC in 2001, yet they decided to find a way to start that damn war — that war that their advisers had been planning since the ’90s and way before Sept. 11th.

No matter how many quotes you post here from Dems stating that Saddam Hussein was evil, nowhere do you hear the drumbeat of “war, war — war is the only answer” coming from the Dems, as opposed to what we got from the Repugs.

The Repugs can truly be proud of themselves now — starting a war against a country that didn’t even have the manpower or weaponry to fight back when we invaded. And it wasn’t because of “bad intelligence”, other than what was being manufactured by the White House.
So much to be proud of. So many dead Americans, Iraqis, and others, all because that’s how your party chooses to “solve complex problems” (as described by one of you Repugs yesterday).

All of you who had rather be invaded here than fight in Iraq, read up on Neville Chamberlain He tried with good intentions but they meant nothing to an empire-crazy dictator like Hitler or Sadaam .

Dropped a few bombs? He blew half the guys family away, killed his daughter. Are you libs sanctioning the murder of innocents now?

Of course not, you’re just proving to us how you will say anything as long as you satisfy your rabid, obsessive, mental hatred of George Bush. See:

W is really smart to be going after “those leakers” in the media. Turns out that his data-mining through our phone records is to catch anyone who’s leaking info to the press. What happened to “we’re only monitoring those calls to Al Qaeda”? So much for the war on “terrrr” — apparently, it’s more important to not have all of the criminal acts going on in the White House and Pentagon revealed to America’s citizens.

Yeah, real smart to be going after the media — that tactic worked so well for Nixon, too.

Well now. The DUSTMITE seems exceptionally agitated this day. Probably because his unemployment check didn’t show up. His is a very, very old story. Life’s most loathsome losers attempt to desperately identify somehow with the billionaires of the country. Thus adopt the politics of hate. Living a totally false life, too stupid to realize they forever vote against their own little personal & financial interests. Playing a “role.” Unemployed because no one will have or keep them. Then comes even more self-hatred and bitterness towards others. The cycle is unending and the purveyors easily identifiable. This unfortunate blog is loaded with such inferior lifeforms.

Here’s another one to skip, Miss Pink:

For a sense of the Earth-shaking tone the anchors used against Bush, here’s how NBC anchor Brian Williams began his broadcast in 2006: “It started on page one of USA Today and exploded all over the morning news.” The “super-secret National Security Agency is using phone company records, just about all the phone calls made in this country, to build a massive database of phone calls and e-mails.”

Ten years ago, when the Clinton administration was rifling through the FBI files of former Republican officials, it was extremely distasteful to object. Here is Brian Williams in June of 1996, after the White House admitted collecting FBI reports on 338 GOP officials (later revised upward to more than 900), and after Bob Dole compared it to Nixon’s enemies list: “The politics of Campaign ‘96 are getting very ugly, very early. Today Bob Dole accused the White House of using the FBI to wage war against its political enemies, and if that sounds like another political scandal, that’s the point.”

It’s amusing to see the Republi-excusers condemn themselves with Democrat quotes that appear to completely support Bush in his lead-in to the Iraq War.

The faithful few Bush supporters seem to have definitively proven that Democrats are able to set aside partisan politics and support the other party in favor of the country at large. Even now, the Democrats are the largest supporters of the President in his illegal alien initiative while members of his own (Republican) party endlessly rake him over the coals.

Too bad that the Republicans are no longer able to act in a non-partisan manner or to admit when they have “screwed the pooch” as Reagan did in the aftermath to Iran-Contra!

The voter will forgive a mistake (as they did Reagan) but they will not tolerate the arrogant inability to admit error and correct it that has been demonstrated by the Republican extremists currently in power.

Why are Conservatives by and large so dumb? Conservatives always seem to think that the whole world revolves around them, yet they don’t even posses the intellect to understand the world around them.

I know that most of the rank and file conservatives drones live in a bubble, but you would think that at some point they would pull their heads out of their behinds and see that the world they are trying to make is going to hell.

Although that is asking a bit much out of such obvious intellectual feather weights, I mean they can’t even accept a simple concept like evolution because that involves observing the world around them and not destroying it. I guess if I were to rape and pillage the world, start unjust wars and exploit people for economic gain I would need to be told to believe in a fairy tale religion that allows me to do whatever I want to whoever I want my entire life only to accept Jesus as my savior with my dying breath and have everything I have done be forgiven so I can spend eternity in Heaven.

Conservatives will blindly believe anything that will justify their atrocities. I would say ingorance is bliss, but most conservatives are just angry white men who are trying to make up for their anatomical shortcomings.

Leroy wrote, “Neither of these events appear to be plane crashes. Please prove me wrong! I am freaked out right now. Why are there no images of two of the four most famous plane crashes in history?”

It’s actually pretty simple. In the vast majority of plane crashes, the pilot is trying to prevent the plane from crashing, resulting in slower speeds, thus, larger pieces of the plane remain intact. They sometimes have the opportunity to burn off fuel as well. On 9/11, the lunatics at the controls were intentionally crashing the planes at full speed. When something as large as an airliner slams into the ground at 600 MPH and full of jet fuel, there is nothing left. Try slowing down and thinking about things for yourself before believing every left-wing conspiracy theorist that rambles incoherently on his blog.

Really?

This does fit an idea that a pinko would come up with.

If, as President Clinton and Attorney General Janet Reno claim, the federal government bears no responsibility for the deaths of the children at Waco, why has the federal government worked so hard, and with so much success until recently, to falsify the facts about what happened there?

Puuhh leeze…..Stop the McCarthyesque rhetoric. The guy is dead 50 years. Thanks to technology, the guy in the whitehouse is a much bigger threat to the constitution than McCarthy’s hate bating.

Quite frankly after what I’ve seen, maybe we should prefer you suggested “strippers” in the white house. At least that wouldn’t have killed over 2400 brave Americans and tens of thousands unfortunate Iraqis.

And maybe if they were there, we’d have some respect in the world so radical muslims wouldnt be as galavanized in a holy war against us because of the administration’s complete disrespect for Islam.

Silly as it sounds-the past six years with this White House proves the old saying that doing something is often much more dangerous than doing nothing.
