On another thread people were asking “How is it you say the left is trying to destroy America?”

While I don’t think you could give a better answer than what ml is advocating here. Military factions aligning and being given control over our government from within having no fear of facing an electorate will make us a third world country faster than Cindy Sheehan can plant one on Hugo Chavez.

Some insight on the subject

WOW!

When the President leaves it all up to the generals, the Wingnuts cheer.

When the Generals push the blame up the chain of command for NOT listening, The Wonderful World of Wingnuts wine and cry.

RW,

I have to agree with you that it is a dangerous precedent to allow the military to have a significant say in domestic policy. It is up to the president to purge his administration of incompetents, not the military. Rumsfeld had offered to resign several times. It was probably pro forma, but the president should have taken him up on the offer. Defenestration is too good for the man.

What is being advocated in this cartoon will result in even greater danger than what we now face. The military operates as a unit. If it is encouraged to do otherwise, it ceases to function effectively in defending our nation.

Be careful what you advocate!!!

Well I hope I’m looking at the same Kevin that called me a man today. I read your link and I have to say…it looks like Rumsfeld is trying to apply some innovative thinking for future encounters which won’t look like what we’ve seen in the past.

But then I am a WOMAN, Kevin, so I’m depending on my instincts. I don’t feel comfortable changing boats in midstream.

On a personal note. As retired military, my Dad wouldn’t accept change well. I can’t count the number of times I had to police the front lawn in a “duck-squat” position. Once military, always military, but the world around us changes.

Mike Parker,

How many Generals does it take to be right? Is it somewhere around the number of angels who can dance on the head of a pin?

There are around 9,000 Generals. We’ve heard from 6 naysayers, and quite a few Rumsfeld supporters (like Tommy Franks for instance).

Luckovich and his boss, Cynthia Tucker (a Pulitzer finalist herself for commentary), are the source of many reader complaints. Their critics accuse them of all manner of evil —- from slandering the president of the United States

Are we trying to say they don’t slander the President? Hmmm.

The irony for me is that nothing could be further from the truth. Tucker and Luckovich give generously of their time to charitable causes and are decent, down-to-earth people. Tucker has mentored several young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds and is a doting daughter, aunt and cousin. Luckovich and his family took in friends from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. When an AJC employee is retiring and he’s asked to honor them with a cartoon, he doesn’t hesitate to volunteer.

Your honor, although this man is a hopeless pervert, who can’t keep his hands out of his pockets, he’s real jam up at the Friday night bake sales!

The best editorial writers and cartoonists provoke thought, spark discussion and, at times, infuriate. Few do this better than Luckovich and Tucker.”

Why this is seen as a pinko attribute is a sure sign of the mental illness of the moonbat. Aren’t these liberals the ones that are claiming the debate in America is “too divisive?”

Honest, healthy debate on U.S. policy matters, by example, should be like this: “I think the marginal tax rate should be 15% not 20%.” The two sides of the discussion can then present their arguments in a comprehensive, rational manner.

Discourse on the left, of which includes Mother lib and cartoon by, consists of this: “Let’s impeach Bush.” Or “Let’s impeach Rumsfeld.” It’s stupid, unproductive, out of touch with reality, political partisan nonsense that, by design, is meant to keep the looney socialist moonbats fed full of red meat.

The only natural reaction of a Conservative patriot to these acts of treason should be anger, it is understandable and completely acceptable.

Where is the value to the country in all this so called left wing inspired debate? What benfits are being hashed out? There are none. I can show you the harm, legion of it.

Give praise to our returning troops, Angela Tuck, they are the ones who made America great. They deserve it. A couple of turncoat elite anti American snob journalists don’t.

I see this cartoon as just asking for a new Secretary of Defense. Rumsfeld’s critics aren’t saying that the “generals should run things.” The criticism of Rumsfeld (coming from the left and the right) is that he’s too stubborn and doesn’t listen to what his generals tell him. I don’t hear anyone calling for a military coup (I’ve lived during military coups and this is not the rhetoric that is said). The generals who are currently speaking out are retired, they are no longer in the chain of command. They are questioning his wisdom and competence as a leader and not his authority. They are calling for a new civilian leader, not a military one.

They have a right to speak their minds just like any other citizen.

I just filled my car up yesterday. There went all the tax cut (and then some)! I wonder if anyone is paying less tax than they did under Clinton because I am not. I’m not in the low/middle class brackets so maybe they are doing better than I. The President is certainly no friend to the upper brackets as the libs would claim.

My caucasian landscaper gave notice last week. It appears that he can’t compete with illegals who don’t pay any taxes, keep business licenses, or pay for workers comp so he has retrained for a skilled labor job and will thereby make a better life for his family. Is that a bad thing?

Maybe illegals are giving the native born the incentive to get an education and improve themselves thereby improving our society? Yes, I enjoy the benefit of cheaper labor but illegal labor isn’t really that much cheaper. That nickel and dime stuff really doesn’t impact my bottom line. Anyone who is affected probably isn’t particularly solvent to begin with.

Absolutely correct:

If women enjoy selling their bodies, have at it, but don’t call it liberation and don’t demand respect for it. Why? Because men will never respect women who doff it or sell it for a buck.

At the risk of offending the International Union of Pimps and Ho’s, here’s one of the jungle’s unpleasant truths: No decent man wants his wife, mother, sister or daughter to be a stripper - even if he’ll pay to watch someone else’s. And therein lies one of this episode’s lessons.

This is where society has gone so far bad, where liberalism has worked it’s evil to our very core, it used to be the “no decent man wanted anybodies wife, mother, sister or daughter to be a stripper.”

Where are the decent, mature men at nowadays?

Not at the liberal women’s meat market, that’s for sure.

Yet another example of that oxymoron - compassionate conservatism. All hail Ronald Reagan!

The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday that it does not support the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

The FDA said in a statement that it and other agencies with the Health and Human Services Department had “concluded that no sound scientific studies supported medical use of marijuana for treatment in the United States, and no animal or human data supported the safety or efficacy of marijuana for general medical use.” (Wonder why that is? Can you say Merck, Pfizer, etc…?)

The statement contradicts a 1999 finding from the Institute of Medicine, part of the National Academy of Sciences, which reported that “marijuana’s active components are potentially effective in treating pain, nausea, the anorexia of AIDS wasting and other symptoms, and should be tested rigorously in clinical trials.” (Like most cons. “Don’t confuse me with the facts”)

A rabid congressional opponent of medical marijuana,” Rep. Mark Souder, R-Indiana, asked the FDA to make the statement. (Why do so many of these morons come from Indiana?!!)

There is abundant evidence that marijuana can help cancer patients, multiple sclerosis patients and AIDS patients. There is no scientific doubt that marijuana relieves nausea, vomiting, certain kinds of pain and other symptoms that don’t respond well to conventional drugs, and does it more safely than other drugs.

LS&L- I don’t believe there is any job that Americans won’t do (for the right price). It is my experience that the providers my spouse has interviewed who appear to be illegal (don’t ask, don’t tell) have only slightly lower salary demands than those who appear to be native blue collar types. I currently employ the later mostly because I require bonding/workers comp that illegal “cheap” labor is never able to afford it seems. One accident or theft would wipe out 10 years of labor discounts, afterall.

Of course any wise consumer will usually not go with a low bid (invariably more expensive) unless they have sterling references (rarer than hen’s teeth).

Personally, I despise yard work and pay quite well to avoid it. Hell, I don’t care who does it as long as it isn’t me. Currently, it takes 3 workers half a day at my place- not this guy! It would be very foolish of me to do this work when I can make 50 times as much engaging in my own chosen vocation.

I prefer to maintain my fitness through fun activities and dietary control since my off time is more limited than that enjoyed by others. My bad.

I understand the many concerns regarding illegal labor but I’m mostly not all that taken with the stance of either side. There are many variables (such as providing incentives for lower wage earners to improve themselves) that will never be looked at when this issue is debated in the political arena.

Rather illegals stay or go and how they do so just really doesn’t impact me personally and I remain skeptical regarding their societal impact one way or the other.

LS&L- I would have to agree with Huge regarding the potential benefits of marijuana. The problem with the raw drug of abuse is that it is non-standard so it cannot be titrated clinically even though it has no LD (lethal dose) ratio and appears to be free from the phenomena of acquired tolerance.

You may be unaware that the active ingredient in marijuana (delta-9 THC) is already being used in the clinical setting under the trade name “Marinol” (it’s use is currently restricted to AIDS and other intractable cancer patients here in the USA). “Sativex” (delta-9 THC in nasal spray form) is used in Britain and Canada for the treatment of neuropathic pain in Multiple Sclerosis patients, AIDS, etc. These are standarized medication that have the same potency in every dose.

Marijuana in raw form should remain a Schedule I narcotic due to its’ variable potency but the FDA release is facetious considering the fact that they are already approving the active component for use in the clinical setting and it is being used with excellent result by tens of thousands of patients every day.

My personal clinical experience is that it is far less debilitating and addictive than the alternative (opioid narcotics). I believe it to be more efficacious in the treatment of certain autoimmune disorders, AIDS, MS, and cancer.

LS&L- The argument can be made that illegal workers do pay unseen and well as overt taxes. Since, they work for lower wages, the disparity between what they make as an illegal and what they would make as documented is a profit captured by our society that can be viewed as an unseen tax burden that they pay. There are many aspects of this issue that are overlooked and I find protestations of both sides mostly unconvincing.

There is no scientific doubt that marijuana relieves nausea, vomiting, certain kinds of pain and other symptoms that don’t respond well to conventional drugs, and does it more safely than other drugs.

That’s what the study in 1990 said, it is not what the FDA stated, the FDA is basically refuting that, for those of you who “can’t stay focused.”

Example: Glaucoma, used to be accepted that marijuana was not a cure but a therapeutic treatment, until the civilized world realized that elderly people are the ones getting glaucoma, we are going to make them smoke pot?

The military has always been about saying nothing but yes to anyone and everyone who can get you promoted and/or move you into an assignment you want. If any of these generals had been the kind of people they’d like us to think they are, they would have resigned on the spot and blown the whistle on the morally and intellectually bankrupt gang that led us into the mess in Iraq the minute they saw it coming. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO! They were too interested in their precious careers to care about their country or the troops who actually had to pay the price for their complicity. By what arbitrary criteria do we decide that alcohol and nicotine are societally acceptable, but marijuanha is not. The only difference is that a lot of powerful business interests are lined up behind alcohol and cigarettes. Is that going to be our criteria? It’s good for business. BTW, when my wife had chemotherapy about 10 years ago, a nurse practitioner at one of the foremost cancer institutes in the country told her to smoke some grass because none of the miracle medicines they were giving her helped her nausea and loss of appetite. I was tardy in replying because I was vacationing on the Florida panhandle at the time. My reply was something to the effect that there was a Starbucks in each of the terminals at Sea-Tac, so I suspected the two air traffic controllers on duty at the time were taking a coffee break. I was shocked at the damage that the last hurricane season did all up and down the panhandle, even as far as Cape San Blas. A lot of houses falling into the sea. I didn’t see any signs that they were going to extract the oil sitting off the coast anytime soon. In fact, they were making the areas available for leasing smaller and smaller. People are pretty desparate. They are piling up sand in front of their houses in an attempt to ward off damage from the next season. Somehow, I doubt it will work.

Most people who go to hard drugs start with the ever so innocent marijuana. It is illegal. The time to talk about legislating personal morality is before laws are made.

Federal statutes are made by legislative enactments. And where does the legislature come from? Citizen voters.

I am not deciding about the morality of maurijuana users. I am simply saying they are breaking the law NOW. Food and tobacco indulgences are also running up healthcare costs but they are NOT illegal.

The same goes for alcohol and tobacco. Taxpayers are all for this do-it-yourself healthcare. They are tired of paying for the healthcare and other damages of those who insist on their indulgences, legal and illegal.

Another good point, Dusty. Marijuana use is a real problem for some. Teenage “supposedly in high-school” waste-oids and lazy, mindless drop out adults, for example. And the health risks (and costs) from smoking it cannot be denied. I don’t advocate smoking pot, I just don’t think Reefer Madness mindsets work, either. Surely, the answer lies somewhere in between and like most important social issues facing us, there are plusses and minuses. (Unless, of course, you know who is correct in his “assessment” that everything the enemy liberals say is wrong.

    dusty,

I don’t disagree with the last part of your argument, but the first part is a non-starter. The main reason people go on to hard drugs from marijuanha is because we have made it illegal. Instead of controlling the use of marijuanha like alcohol or nicotine, we have pushed it underground. It has become part of the harder drug culture. It used to be that people were fairly casual about marijuanha use and sales, but now the same people that sell marijuahna sell other drugs, particularly meth. Meth is the real scourge of our culture right now. If your statement about marijuanha leading to other drug use were true, you would have to same the same for alcohol and nicotine, both of which are drugs that satisfy the same needs as marijuanha.

Right now, the biggest reason someone would be a fool to use marijuanha is that if they are caught, it could be a felony. That seems to be getting the cart before the horse.

A recent letter appearing in Stars And Stripes, the newspaper of, by, and for the military overseas. [Retired generals courageous Regarding recent articles about retired generals calling for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s resignation: “Whatever our commanders on the ground tell us they need, they will get.” So sayeth (and repeateth and repeateth) the Bush administration and its secretary of defense. Unfortunately, with time, this mantra has become more and more hollow, political and fabricated. America is learning the truth from firsthand sources, generals involved directly with the invasion of Iraq and the war. This “revelation” is a significant “vote” of no confidence, with the military starting to express a public voice of mistrust for the present civilian leadership at the Pentagon. Civilian control of the military is mandatory for our American democracy to move forward and succeed. However, the perversion of this civilian control for partisan, political purposes cannot be tolerated. When I say that libs are pathological liars, this is what I mean:

By Liberal Texas Democrat April 22, 2006 03:31 PM The Army released statistics showing that 12.9 per 100,000 U.S. soldiers committed suicide in 2005, up from 11.0 per 100,000 in 2004. The 2005 suicide rate was the highest for the Army since 13.1 per 100,000 in 1999. The Army is the largest service in the U.S. military and provides most of the troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Is not the whole purpose of this post meant to make it seem as though the war in Iraq is causing these young men to take their lives?

Consider this: The suicide rate for U.S. males age 20-24 is 27.2 per 100,000. That’s 2.5 times more than what it is for those in the Army.

So it is actually better for our young men to join the Army and fight against Islamic terrorists.

So why would a pinko try to twist the facts so they appear to be opposite of what they really are?

Is this how they normally present their case?

Millions — why shouldn’t they kill millions of us?

They yet might. It depends, in part, on our capacity for self-delusion. Who’s the bad guy around here these days? Don Rumsfeld? Zacarias Moussaoui? The semicomical aspect to the whole matter is that the ultimate head of the U.S. military effort in Iraq inspires more disdain than one of the conspirators who helped destroy 3,000 American lives.

From America’s Independent Newspaper serving America’s Military, another letter that will make LSAL and his posse think it’s published by the AJC.

“Generals must step in Grand jury evidence from Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald almost certainly proves that President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney exposed undercover CIA agent Valerie Plame by leaking selected portions of a report that seemed to rebut criticism for invading Iraq. Cheney aide “Scooter” Libby, indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice, testified that he met with reporters to leak this information. The reporters testified that Libby did reveal the agent’s name. The most recent Gallup poll showed that 63 percent of Americans believe that Bush acted illegally or unethically in the “Plamegate” affair. If not prosecutable, exposing an agent is a national security betrayal. Bush’s subject-changing lie that he declassified information so the “American people could know the truth” is irrelevant. Bush’s “declassified” information was cherry-picked from a report that in subsequent paragraphs discounted that same information. It’s news to the CIA, the Pentagon and Congress that a presidential leak equals declassification. The special prosecutor states that the “presidential leak” was a vendetta against the CIA agent’s husband, who disputed Bush’s false justifications to invade Iraq. Bush’s similar plans to bomb Iran with tactical nuclear weapons are documented by Seymour Hersh in the April 4, 2006, New Yorker magazine and The Washington Post’s Tom Ricks. The too-familiar goal to control oilfields by U.S. energy companies with Halliburton no-bid contracts is again called “regime change.” Cheney’s daughter, heading the State Department’s Iran-Syria Operations Group, controls $80 million to develop this agenda. This radical endangerment of national security and world stability reportedly caused several Joint Chiefs of Staff to threaten resignation. They are disgusted at the brazen incompetence of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Cheney. Bankrupting the treasury, creating crushing debt, and sacrificing lives to reward friends with war profits will persist until our bullied generals stop it. M.D. Wooldridge

Your wreck analogy is so fatalistic. It was only when the high schoolers got into it that things got out of control. Think of it in terms of a nice, sophisticated adult cocktail party. As long as the guests as nice, sophisticated adults, it’s a fun party and everyone has a good time. Imagine if a bunch of teenage idiots crashed the party. They’d ruin it, right? I’m still here learning things I never knew or was even interested in before. I’ve got to say that LS&L takes me to sites and then offers his opinion, which is often times enlightening. I don’t care how he delivers it, it’s the information that I appreciate. I read just about everything from everyone’s links. If something peaks my interest, I research further on my own.

If you reprimanded vile things said by others here, I might buy your argument that you weren’t out to get LS&L. I’ve seen you reprimand one person from the left, that’s it. Maybe there were others that I missed, I don’t know.

You’re making this hard work for yourself when it doesn’t have to be. I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you. As long as I’ve been here, no individual’s viewpoints have been changed. If that’s your objective, this may be the wrong forum for you.

You can’t ask people to engage only on your terms. I’ve got nothing else for you. That’s it. It’s free speech and individuality. It’s understood by everyone else here, I don’t understand why you don’t get it.

    Well, RW,

I am thinking about some of the things @@ and Washington State said about institutionlization. In their work, perhaps a home like atmosphere works well. But what bothers me are the homeless who are obviously mentally ill and on the streets.

I cannot see how these people are expected to attend mental health clinics, secure medications and take them on a regular basis. Perhaps @@ and WS could give me ideas of how that works in other states. Observing the street scene and an occasional volunteer trip to a “soup kitchen” in Atlanta makes me wonder.

I just watched that old movie “Trials at Nuremburg”. Such a great movie and reminder of the atrocities of Nazi Germany. That one really makes you think about what happened to those who did not fit into their description of normal.

    RW,

I’ll amend my statement. He is a racist and also regularly engages in offensive speech. The last time we discussed this, you said he was an individual and entitled to his own opinions, but that you didn’t necessarily support him. That time had to do with his posting a link to sex felons from a predominantly black county and saying that they (blacks) were responsible for most sex crimes. When I called him on it, he stated that he really meant Mexicans were responsible for most sex crimes. Like that was an improvement. More recently, he was incredulous that Puerto Ricans had a Republican party and then dismissed them because he doubted that they delivered any votes for Bush. After all, they are just Puerto Ricans and not Americans. I can’t cut and paste those instances because they are off the board now. As for offensive speech, pick any of his posts.

Second you can cut and paste any of that because every single thing that’s ever been posted on this board is still in the archives.

Third do you really want to stay with the idea that liberals are a “protected” group? The problem is that we all know they think that, you’re just supposed to pretend that isn’t what you mean. They might pull your membership card or something.

It always comes back to who defines offensive and who has the right to claim they were offended and shut the other person up.

Anyone that thinks any venue is a waste of their time should probably find a different venue. There are hundreds of places you can go and not run the risk of dissent or being offended. There are also ways to discuss issues here, but it takes not getting consumed by the white noise (there I go with another racist comment) and picking out who you are discussing things with. As for who defines offensive, I guess it is the person who is being offended. But you have to admit that if I said half of what Andy said, you would be offended. I don’t mind dissent, but I do take offense at being gratuitously insulted.

I was watching an episode of Law & Order, and the topic dealt with Gay Marriage. The Prosecutor was trying to get a witness to testify against his life partner whom he had married in New Jersey. The Prosecutor went to the Supreme Court and had their marriage dissolved because it was not the intent of the founding fathers that two men should be legally married. Later the witness refused to testify and was held in contempt because the prosecutor dissolved everything that he and his partner had accomplished. What is this world coming to? It sickens me by the constant bickering over Gay Marriage. Many people say that homosexuals do not value a relationship due to the inability to remain in a relationship for a long period of time. I ask, Can you blame them? America offers no means of stability for gay couples. People say that it is an abomination in the eyes of God. Here’s what I think. We are all God’s children. For ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. And furthermore, He who is without sin, cast the first stone. I have heard of churches not allowing gay members. That in itself is a sin. Anyone who comes to hear the word of God, must know “ALL ARE WELCOME.” I know there is only One who will judge me and the same shall judge us all. We as Americans need to learn to love one another. People try to use religion all the time as a basis for discontent towards homosexuality. Homosexuality has existed all throughout history. Alexander the Great, Plato, Socrates, even one of our Presidents was rumored to have been an homosexual. Homosexuals today are battling the same fight as African Americans did years ago. Equality in all. When are we going to stop acting like heathens and start acting like humanitarians. I support the right for all men and all women to be equal. Whatever their sexual preference is, that’s their business. This is America, Land of Opportunity. I have several gay friends and I must say that they are some of the most wonderful people God has graced this earth with. Every Man and Woman deserve the right to find the one they love and marry them. If gay marriage or civil unions were allowed, I do believe there would be more stability in homosexuals lives. We cannot afford to close doors to anyone. For if we do, how can we honestly say, Freedom for All?

O.K., LTD, I’ll change my liar diagnosis. Let’s make it insanity:

Because LSAL read a piece that illustrates that service persons are less than the holy warrior image he ascribes to.

I won’t get into the fact that there is no way that a veteran would post thoughts like this, I’ll just stick to the fact that LTD is a nutcase. Soldiers commit suicide at a lesser rate than the general population, which I believe, does make them better. Who can argue that it does not?

As for the earlier excuse, how about if we let your post speak for itself?:

The Army is the largest service in the U.S. military and provides most of the troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is a direct connection to the “evil” war on terror. Again, how can a sane person even argue differently?

P.S. BTW, Faux was the first to post this liberal BS for those of you keeping score, they tied the soldier’s suicide rate directly to the war without giving up the fact that it is lower than the general population.

Boy! It looks like those angry hornets are really buzzing now!

Some here have a lack of familiarity and understanding of the dictionary and other reference materials and their purpose that it’s practically palpable.

For example, referring to the Wikipoedia reference obtuse (Characterized by a lack of intelligence or sensitivity) is REALLY a stretch. To throw it under the rug so it will have to be discounted merely because someone doesn’t like or agree with the material is just juvenile. The article is actually quite comprehensive and intelligent. Read it and see for yourselves.

And using the word amorphous (Lacking definite form; shapeless) is silly and just a case of trying to sound intelligent.

And finally this Third do you really want to stay with the idea that liberals are a “protected” group?, which changed to this when caught making the whole thing up “Protected” is a catch all term. Good job Washington State.

But this really says it all: The way they accept that “freakin’ dictionary” definition you would think it was an act of Congress Funny, but most people I know, do accept the dictionary as valid and accurate. Oh, silly me.

Yet, the post of 3:39AM is a case of actually hitting the nail exactly on the head. Nobody likes being gratuitously insulted, but it happens to most of us on the right a lot more than it does to anyone else.

Although one could rightly construe this as the victim mentality that the poster disparaged in the same contribution, it goes to the very core of the discussion.

I would say it’s safe to say that libs outnumber their opponents on this blog by a fair margin. I’ve never counted, but this seems consistent with my experiences here.

And, more than a few of them, are notorious and idiotic flamers, as well. They are in my opinion, equally useless and small-minded. And unlike El Suck & Lie they don’t even contribute anything relevant. So, in that regard, they’re even worse in my book.

I beleieve that because the far-right wing feels so outnumbered, they are compelled to defend each other EVEN WHEN IT’S NOT WARRANTED. Some try to pretend they have no interest in this topic, but can’t control their emotionals enough to resist pitching in their little insults after awhile, as well. Useless to furthering intelligent debate…

Someone on the right once spoke of an inclusive and diverse big tent that ostensibly included me. I guess that tent isn’t really big enough after all.

Now the weak are vilified and the wicked glorified…

If you don’t think Wiki is amorphous and suspect you are naive at best. It changes constantly and not always with accuracy in mind.

My theory on liberal insanity is starting to grow some legs:

In his first new message in three months, bin Laden said the West’s decision to cut off funds to the Palestinians because their Hamas leaders refuse to recognize Israel proved that the United States and Europe were conducting “a Zionist crusader war on Islam.”

Yea, everything was just hunky dorey when we were paying them.

This just proves the point that Bin Laden has been dead for years now and some stupid pinko at the New York Times is making up messages for him. Only a moron liberal would use a government assistance as a grievance.

But all of this is now past tense, and the White House, as well as senior staff at the Departments of Justice, State, and Defense, are attempting to identify possible leakers among their own career staffs with access to information that might be helpful to Democrats or the press.

Of greatest concern is the Department of Justice, the nexus of many terrorism and national security cases that would involve the White House, Defense and State Departments, as well as briefings on Capitol Hill to congressional leadership.

“We know we have people leaking materials. It’s been an ongoing problem, but until someone has taken the first step, and the McCarthy case would appear to be the first step, it’s hard to move against career staff,” says a current Defense Department staffer. “We have an IG looking at all kinds of things right now. Perhaps we’ll get some movement.”

McCarthy is not, as one pundit said, a courageous American citizen exercising her First Amendment rights against an outrageous government policy. If there are no restrictions enforced by law, then there are no secrets. McCarthy is a traitor, someone who leaked top secret information and damaged our national security, risked the lives of Americans fighting a war, and disrupted our relations with nations that had been working with us against a new kind of enemy. McCarthy was an employee, not a policy maker. She has never been elected by the American people or appointed by the President to a position that would have entitled her to disclose that information.

She violated her highest duty because her political beliefs were opposed to the policy that the President had established. Her disclosure was politically motivated. She wanted to thwart the policy of the President, and she achieved her goal by committing a felony. McCarthy should be prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent the law allows. As should her fellow CIA leakers and manipulators of policy.

    Amen.

The liberal media is so consumed with its hatred for George Bush that it has lost any sense of loyalty to our nation. This year it gave its highest professional award — the Pulitzer Prize — to Dana Priest for her CIA prisons stories and to James Risen, the New York Times reporter who wrote the stories that revealed the NSA terrorist surveillance program. There is not even a debate among the press about whether these reporters should be chastised instead of rewarded. To the contrary, these Pulitzer Prizes make every reporter more eager to discover and publish America’s secrets regardless of the consequences to our soldiers and our nation.

Nearly four years after she lost the Republican primary for governor and more than a year after being indicted, Schrenko will stand trial on charges that she helped steal more than $600,000 in federal funds meant for deaf students. Prosecutors allege that she funneled about half the money to her unsuccessful campaign and that $9,300 of it went for a face-lift.

What the hey, here’s a drive by cut and paste ala anyone you don’t like: “60 Minutes Transcript, 4/23/06

BRADLEY: [In October 2002,] the CIA had made a major intelligence breakthrough on Iraq’s nuclear program. Naji Sabri, Iraq’s foreign minister, had made a deal to reveal Iraq’s military secrets to the CIA. Tyler Drumheller was in charge of the operation.

DRUMHELLER: This was a very high inner circle of Saddam Hussein, someone who would know what he was talking about.

BRADLEY: You knew you could trust this guy?

DRUMHELLER: We continued to validate him the whole way through.

BRADLEY: According to Drumheller, CIA Director George Tenet delivered the news about the Iraqi foreign minister at a high level meeting at the White House.

DRUMHELLER: The President, the Vice President, Dr. Rice…

    BRADLEY: And at that meeting…?

DRUMHELLER: They were enthusiastic because they said they were excited that we had a high-level penetration of Iraqis.

BRADLEY: And what did this high level source tell you?

DRUMHELLER: He told us that they had no active weapons of mass destruction program.

BRADLEY: So, in the fall of 2002, before going to war, we had it on good authority from a source within Saddam’s inner circle that he didn’t have an active program for weapons of mass destruction?

    DRUMHELLER: Yes.

BRADLEY: There’s no doubt in your mind about that?

DRUMHELLER: No doubt in my mind at all.

BRADLEY: It directly contradicts, though, what the President and his staff were telling us.

DRUMHELLER: The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming, and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy, to justify the policy.

BRADLEY: Drumheller expected the White House to ask for more information from the Iraqi foreign minister. He was taken aback by what happened.

DRUMHELLER: The group that was dealing with preparations for the Iraq war came back and said they’re no longer interested. And we said, “Well, what about the intel?” And they said, “Well, this isn’t about intel anymore. This is about regime change.”

BRADLEY: And if I understand you correctly, when the White House learned that you had this source from the inner circle of Saddam Hussein, they were thrilled with that.

DRUMHELLER: The first we heard, they were. Yes.

BRADLEY: But when they learned what it was that he had to say, that Saddam did not have the capability to wage nuclear war, weapons of mass destruction…?

DRUMHELLER: They stopped being interested in the intelligence.

BRADLEY: The White House declined to respond to Drumheller’s account of Naji Sabri’s role, but Secretary of State Rice has said that Sabri, the Iraqi foreign minister-turned-U.S. spy, was just one source, and therefore his information wasn’t reliable.

DRUMHELLER: They certainly took information that came from single sources on uranium, on the yellowcake story and on several other stories that had no corroboration at all, and so you can’t say you only listen to one source, because on many issues they only listened to one source.

BRADLEY: So you’re saying that if there was a single source and that information from that source backed up the case they were trying to build, then that single source was okay, but if it didn’t, then the single source was not okay because he couldn’t be corroborated.

DRUMHELLER: Unfortunately, that’s what it looks like.”

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on LTD.

Rather apologized in September for a “mistake in judgment” in relying on apparently bogus documents for a “60 Minutes Wednesday” report charging that Bush received favorable treatment in the Texas Air National Guard three decades ago. But the apology followed 10 days in which Rather and his network doggedly defended the story despite mounting evidence, some of it assembled by Internet bloggers, that the memos in question could not have been written on an early 1970s government typewriter. CBS asked former attorney general Dick Thornburgh and former Associated Press chief Louis D. Boccardi to head an outside inquiry.

It figures that the libs would trust national security to the CIA/ See BS/ 60 Minutes, like it’s their big overriding concern to keep America safe:

McCarthy was not alone among the CIA’s analysts and decision makers. As I have written many times, the CIA has been in open revolt against the President since 9-11. Failing to foresee the fall of the Soviet Union, the terrorist attacks before, including and after 9-11, and just about everything else that mattered, the CIA has been an utter failure in the mission it was created to perform. Instead, it has been operating covertly against the government by mounting operations such as the Joe Wilson Niger trip, which was planned and performed only to discredit the President’s position that Iraq was seeking uranium for a revived nuclear weapons program. CIA bureaucrats have been spending a lot of time and effort to discredit the President while fighting against the change that will transform it from the failure it has been to an agency that can meet the needs of a nation at war. And in doing so it has fueled the opposition press with these leaks.

If you libs want to be stupid, go ahead, but don’t involve the safety of the nation in your blooming ignorance. You are the only people in the freaking world that doesn’t associate CBS and Dan Rather with irrelevancy. The National Guard fake memo was the ultimate act of a child and CBS let it slide and even affirmed it with the “fake but accurate” BS. It’s almost comical, except for the fact that we all know CBS is rotten to the core.

See BS and anyone who quotes them are anti American POS.

(Fortunately, he’s toast; otherwise he could run with that other demented oddball Robertson on the fire and brimstone ticket.) Its hard to believe, in this day and age, that anyone would model themself after that…

Branch Davidians believe that Koresh will someday return to Earth. Some hoped, based on Daniel 12:12, that this would occur 1,335 days after his death: December 14, 1996. The Hidden Manna faction believed that it would take place on August 6, 1999, then October 20, and now March 2012. Other survivors avoid date-setting. David Koresh said that he would come back when an earthquake has occurred in the town. (or when hell freezes over, whichever comes first!)

For the record, we have different approach to losing. When I see we’re losing, I say to myself “Hey, what can we do to win?” And in this case, getting rid of everyone responsible for this colossal failure is the first step. It’s the easiest and most obvious step, but one without which the rest cannot be taken. You, on the other hand, when you see that’s we’re losing, say to yourself “Well, it’s unpatriotic to admit reality, so let me instead circle the wagon and support to the grave those who are responsible.” Differences of approach, Dusty. The real loser is the person who is obviously losing but is refusing to admit that fact. And that is you.

Mary McCarthy’s position — the post from which she is likely to have learned the most sensitive information at the heart of the leak controversy — was inside the CIA’s inspector general’s office. This is the unit that investigates internal misconduct. This is the unit to which government employees are encouraged to report government abuse or illegality so it can be investigated, potentially reported to Congress, and prosecuted if appropriate.

That is, it is the legal alternative to leaking national secrets to the media.

It is, therefore, the process that has to be protected if our intelligence community is to have credibility with the public and with the foreign intelligence services on which we are so dependent. If it becomes just another Washington sieve — a place where people who comply with their oaths and exercise professional discretion may nevertheless expect to find the information they confide trumpeted on Page One of the Washington Post — we are guaranteed to have much more leaking. And much less security.

Cleaning government’s own house in such weighty matters is one of the principal reasons why we have federal law enforcement.

    Let’s use it.

Al Qaeda drew a line in the sands of the Sunni Triangle, and the United States Army and Marines walked right across it. First, al Qaeda tried to kill Americans, per bin Laden’s orders. It largely failed. Then al Qaeda went after America’s allies, and succeeded only in turning public opinion against itself in every Muslim country it attacked. After thirty months of battlefield defeats and political embarrassments, bin Laden won’t even mention Iraq in one of his rare public utterances, and he rallies his troops to fight a war where American soldiers aren’t. How humiliating. How delightful.

Al Qaeda has lost in Iraq, and bin Laden is desperate to change the subject. He and his organization are at grave risk of being discredited, and when that happens it will be much harder for al Qaeda to attract recruits, raise money, or deal with governments.

Hat tip to TigerHawk, who only forgot to add one thing to a very excellent thesis:

SOS, I’m not planning to castrate anyone. If you want that performed, use your teeth. I’m more into mentally emasculating the likes of you, li’l andy, Dusty, Danish and RW. But even that is getting difficult, as there seems to be nothing left to emasculate any more. I mean, we have Dusty and li’l andy declaring that we have “won in Iraq” on the same day as 7 bombs killed 10 people in Baghdad (injuring 80), and at least 15 people were killed in other bombings around the country. If this happened in America, they would be screaming “Apocalypse!”. Since it happened in Iraq, they’re screaming “Victory!” There is no need to emasculate these people. They have no dignity or brain left.

04/20/06 FOX Poll: Gloomy Economic Views; Bush Approval at New Low Thursday, April 20, 2006

In addition, views on the economy are glum; most Americans rate the current economy negatively, and twice as many say it feels like the economy is getting worse rather than better. These are just some of the findings of the latest FOX News national poll.

From my 7:42, time to get serious:

According to the Moroccan-born MP, anti-Belgian racism is rife among Muslim street gangs. “This murder stinks of racism,” he said. “There is a growing group of criminal Moroccan and Turkish youths who go after victims who look like infidels. We have to fight racism in all its varieties, whether by the immigrants or the native community.” What Ahidar says is common knowledge but only he may say so. If a native Belgian makes such comments he or she risks being taken to court for racism by the authorities’ racism watchdog CEOOR, an instrument used by the government parties to silence political opponents.

Mommy: Don’t worry baby wingnut, we’ll get that Swift Boat crowd into action, lickety split.

Suck: But what if their lies aren’t enough?

Mommy: Don’t forget, baby andy, we’ve still got Carl Rove up our sleeve (or is it a*?)

Suck: But this just too important, Mommy! The fate of the entire world rests upon another of us controlling everything.

I love this line from your 8:25 post: “you are intelectually deficient, I am smarter”. So you are trying to insult someone else’s intelligence, yet you can’t spell a basic word and don’t know where to put periods. I do have to hand it to you, as retarded as you are, you certainly do provide loads of entertainment (in addition to the loads of bullsh!t).

I don’t know what I’m going to do if this Iraq war succeeds. We need more soldiers killed or maybe an attack on America so we can shove Osama down Bush’s throat. If he keeps on like this, freeing all of these people from tyranny, we’ll never get elected to anything again.

    Go Al Qaeda!

Quick post before work. Nobody may even see it, but what the hell. The first 9:16 P.M. post shows that he/she/they still don’t get it. LS&L succeeds everytime and they help by reacting. Like LS&L says, he (LS&L) wins.

It’s funny in a way, but I can’t help but associate it with the “developmentally delayed” children I work with. They react to external stimulus. But their cognizant skills are either limited or missing altogether. So what’s the jacker’s excuse? Are they missing the ability to reason. It would appear so.

Maybe I could get the jacker-s enrolled at my school.
