Double Post

Key figures in a phone-jamming scheme designed to keep New Hampshire Democrats from voting in 2002 had regular contact with the White House and Republican Party as the plan was unfolding, phone records introduced in criminal court show.

Just 2 more years…2 more years….And we will finally be done with the Cheney/Rove puppet Presidency…I mean Bush Presidency.

DavidU,

So do you think if only a few more New Hampshire voters had been told by phone when election day was they would have turned around a 51 to 46 margin? Even Democrats can’t believe their voters are that stupid.

Oh…and President Bush will be in office for nearly three (3) more years!!!

DavidU -

Yeah you are right. Only two more years before another Republican is President.

Because the rabid left owns the Democratic party, you will put of Hillary. Hillary is unelectable.

Basically, as long as people like yourself continue to poison thier chances, the Democratic party will continue to be a regional party with no power whatsoever. If some of you were to stop your mindless complaining and join the mainstream conversation, the Dems might have a chance. Until then you will start putting up poll-watching losers like Hillary, Kerry and Gore.

Thanks for your contribution to continued Republican dominance!

Of the most disingenuous, or simply ignorant (Hi Cynthia!), charges that were leveled prior to, during and following the spring 2003 invasion of Iraq was that the war was conceived to rob the Iraqis of their oil reserves. This imprudent accusation has largely disappeared because few have the audaciousness to carry on this conspiratorial paranoia. However, the administration’s reluctance to become thoroughly engaged in the Iraqi oil industry—a result of domestic and foreign critics—has made things unnecessarily difficult for the Washington and Baghdad alike. Put simply, the Bush administration needs to focus more on Iraq’s oil.

One of the first actions taken by the United States following the ouster of Saddam Hussein was the nearly immediate transfer of sovereignty of Iraq’s oil industry back to the people of Iraq. Even after handing the key to nation’s wealth back to Iraqis, the United States has sought little influence in oil policy-making decisions.

I know there are multitudes of professional protestors, people too ignorant to study the word “useful idiot” and most are wormy little socialists. They enjoy a good gathering, any protest will do even if it doesn’t apply to their cause, it’s a excellent opportunity to bash America.

Dafna Linzer and Barton Gellman of the Washington Post should be grateful no legal jeopardy is attached to lying to their readers. In their story Sunday they said: “the evidence Cheney and Libby selected to share with reporters had been disproved months before.”

In July of 2004, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence concluded unanimously that it was Mr. Wilson who was lying. He had been sent to Niger by his wife, and he told the CIA officers who debriefed him that Iraqi officials had approached Nigerien officials about buying “yellowcake.”

We’re more reluctant to reexamine old news even when there are new developments, if the new developments run counter to journalistic memes. Here’s a story you didn’t read on the front page: Among the captured Iraqi documents recently released to the public is a March 17, 2001 memo from an Iraqi air force brigadier general soliciting volunteers from his command for a suicide mission to “strike American interests.” Gee, in what sort of suicide mission would pilots have been useful?

Another document, released Friday, has not yet been translated from Arabic, but notations on it indicate it describes the movement of chemical and biological weapons.

But Saddam had no ties to terror groups, and he had no WMD. We told you so.

We have immigration laws that need to be enforced, not reformed. Since Congress won’t do anything, I am starting my own BOYCOTT of all Mexican products, stores, restaurants, travel to Mexico, etc. I challenge Congress to impose a TRADE BOYCOTT with Mexico. If we all join together in a BOYCOTT and get the attention of the legal Mexican community, businesses, and the Mexican government, then maybe they will take steps to stop the invasion. I hear legal Mexican immigrants say it’s not fair that illegals are here, but what are they doing about it? I am taking one small step, but together we can have a big impact, BOYCOTT MEXICO !!!!

It is a outrage that the ajc is not representing the American voice about the illegal immigration issue. Yes, the American middle class taxpayer who pays for the illegal immigrants - their education, health care and the list goes on. Sales taxes, buying vehicles, clothes, etc. does not equal income taxes.
And those jobs that American do not want. How can anyone believe that propaganda. Come work a week in the trades, tile work, painting, landscaping, plumbing and see what is really happening. Shame on all those employers hiring illegals, they are the root of this problem.

Phone-Jamming Records Point to White House

The records show that Bush campaign operative James Tobin, who recently was convicted in the case, made two dozen calls to the White House within a three-day period around Election Day 2002 — as the phone jamming operation was finalized, carried out and then abruptly shut down.

The national Republican Party, which paid millions in legal bills to defend Tobin, says the contacts involved routine election business and that it was “preposterous” to suggest the calls involved phone jamming.

More convictions proving that Republicans are truely the STFU party. Just one more example of the culture of corruption inherent in the Republican valued world. These guys would rather cheat than win honestly.

Dusty, I have to agree with you. In the pantheon of corruption and scandel the last 6 years have seen, 3 hours of disruption in a state election is a minor infraction. For the right wingers out there, this would be the equivalent of Bill Clinton patting a staffer on the tush. A few years ago this might have caused outrage, but the current government has lowered the bar so far as to what we expect from them in terms of honesty and integrity that this is a minor incident.

There’s nothing quite as disgusting as the two choices we typically have when it comes to elections. Both the repubican and democratic parties are to blame for virtually every problem this country is facing, from the debt, to the social programs, to the immmigration problem, to the senseless war, to the totalitarian presidency.

The free services that both parties give away to voters get used by illegals and everyone is upset. Nobody is upset that everyone else feels entitled to these services (which are just paid for by theft), but let an illegal get them and all hell brakes loose.

The two big parties have done everything they can to make sure that no serious competition has a chance, and 99% of you clowns reading this have such blind party loyalty that you would vote for Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, or even a power ticket of Saddam and Osama if they were running on your party’s banner. Face it, you know I am right. The petty bickering that constitutes most of these posts proves it. You know already that your parties are going to put up the lowest form of humanity as their candidate. There will never be anyone who really wants change, because neither of your parties actually want change. They steal and give to themselves and their friends, and that’s that way they want to keep it.

Go to www.lp.org. Check out the Libertarian Party. Support the party. Help get its candidates on the ballot. Do something useful for america’s future. You know things aren’t going to get better with “them.” Its certainly worth a try.

Newt Gingrich, the former Republican Speaker of the House, told students and faculty at the University of South Dakota Monday that the United States should pull out of Iraq and leave a small force there, just as it did post-war in Korea and Germany. “It was an enormous mistake for us to try to occupy that country after June of 2003,” Gingrich said during a question-and-answer session at the school. “We have to pull back, and we have to recognize it.”

hmmmmm….June 2003? So is he calling for an immediate pull out of our troops? I though that was a silly, crazy, communist, socialist, gay loving, un-American, abortion inducing, retarded, religion hating, multi-culturalism pinko idea?

One one side, we have the ideologues. They say we can’t reward illegality. We must reject amnesty. We should send them back where they came from. Anyone who helps them is a criminal. On the other side, we have the realists. They say the illegals are already here. Sending them home would be a disaster for a number of vital industries. Haven’t we already seen what trying to turn ideology into reality can do? One word: Iraq. The illegals are here. They do good and necessary work. Simply making them legal will generate added public revenue and add productive citizens to our workforce. The constant addition of new blood willing to do anything to get ahead has been America’s secret weapon even before this WAS America. Conversely, a lack of diversity has crippled many other nations. Realism must be allowed to carry the day.

Damn straight! Even as late as the late 90’s, not knowing any better, I still considered myself a Democrat. Although, I had voted for GOP candidates in numerous instances, including Reagan once.

But all of that changed with Nader’s campaign. I realized then that the Democratic party was nothing like the one that I grew up with (well, maybe except for the womanizing!). They absolutely threw everything they had into an effort (twice!) to squash this guy. And to this day, they still blather about Nader costing Gore the White House. Absolute rubbish. And the GOP is arguably, just as bad.

Nader was the only relevant candidate in the past decade or so, who was willing (able?) to try and fundamentally change the system in DC. For the better? Who knows? Naieve? Maybe. But, at least, it wouldn’t be the same old bought and paid for song and dance.

I have always thought of the Libertarian Party as Republican-lite. Probably, in part, due to that radio buffon, Boortz. But you have stirred an interest in me that will cause me to take a closer look. Who knows?

The constant addition of new blood willing to do anything to get ahead has been America’s secret weapon even before this WAS America…a lack of diversity has crippled many other nations.

JoRo,

Really? We need to mix blood? Sounds like a kind of reverse racism to me. What history book are you looking at to draw this conclusion?

Tell us why Europe is such a total disaster right now. Is it because it lacks diversity? Maybe they need a little more diversity to become the perfect Utopia?

Sheesh.

my thoughts, other than how nasty the discussion is, include that the originating nations need to be worked with to make it less necessary for thousands of people to come here to survive. If conditions are not improved, the US will eventually decline to their level, maybe not in my lifetime, but eventually. And yes, the liberals use bad language, but the conservatives (with or without links to the “real” media) are worse. This is the final time I will even read this crap, as it is meaningless and only exacerbates the division in the country.

RE,

I don’t find Andy particularly nasty. Certainly not enough to cry about for X sakes! And he posts interesting, important stuff - not the criminal histories of local aldermen that no one gives a whit about.

As for G.W., there are things I disagree with him on, or things I wish he would make a priority (like real tax reform). I do support him on National Security and the War in Iraq, social security reform (which the libs/AARP killed), and love his choice of Supremes. I have mixed feelings about his ideas for immigration reform, but at least he’s not out “naturalizing” people just in time for the November elections. He doesn’t flip flop and one knows exactly where he stands.

Mostly, I am faithful to conservative ideas, and someone like Sen. George Allen is my kind of guy.

Tax cuts are not a conservative idea, fiscal responsibility is. However convincing people you can get something for nothing is a common political theme, one embraced by the GOP with tax cuts. I think in 2 years the US debt payments for interest accrual may be the biggest expenditure of the budget, it is currently the 3rd largest expediture and that is using historical low interest rates. They will not be low 2 years from now.

Here is an interesting one for all you conservatives out there, Should English be mandated as the official spoken language of the country?

Seems like an awful lot of governmental interference, it was after all the “invisible hand of the free market” that leads us to the point that many signs, billboards, forms, and telephone prompts are now in Spanish as well as English. SO what is the conservative position on this, to have govenrment intervine and force English to be spoken, or to allow for free markets to adjust to the needs of the country?

Wouldn’t it be to the benefit of the immigrants to learn to speak the language of the country where they reside while maintaining their native tongue as well. Wouldn’t it benefit them in business dealings and legal matters to speak our language.

I know that in many large cities with diverse cultures, the different ethnic groups tend to isolate themselves in communities where their native language is spoken. That doesn’t promote unity does it?

I can give you a first-hand account of how a group of Guatemalan immigrants bought the house across the road from me to be used as a church, but they’re unable to do so because of zoning laws which they didn’t understand. They’re now stuck with a $2,500.00 monthly mortgage on a house that they can’t use. They have gotten themselves a civil liberties attorney to handle their case. If they win, the property values of the houses on either side of them will plummet along with mine. Is that equal justice?

What Ann Coulter really said was “No wonder you guys lost” and didn’t know the vet was disabled. A minor factual and semantic difference, but a difference nonetheless:

During an interview with FAIR’s radio show CounterSpin (8/9/02), Coulter challenged a story about her reported by Washington Post media reporter Howard Kurtz:

Howard Kurtz made up a quote about a Vietnam vet, which he knows he made up, which has now run twice in the Washington Post, once in Talk magazine, once in People magazine, once in the Washingtonian. It’s something I allegedly said on TV. Why doesn’t somebody produce a tape of that?

Coulter was referring to Kurtz’s account of a 1997 debate on MSNBC’s NewsChat show (10/11/97), when Coulter was a paid MSNBC contributor. According to Kurtz (Washington Post, 10/16/98), “Coulter was debating a disabled Vietnam vet when she snapped: ‘People like you caused us to lose that war.’ (She says she didn’t know the guest, appearing by satellite, was disabled.) That ended her MSNBC career.”

In the MSNBC NewsChat segment, in which Coulter debated Bobby Muller, president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, her exact words to the paralyzed veteran were: “No wonder you guys lost.” She was interrupting Muller’s point about the role that landmines played in the Vietnam War: “In 90 percent of cases that U.S. soldiers got blown up—Ann, are you listening?—they were our own mines.”

Just scanning thru this blog. Run across a Buy Danish or a Baby Pinko, and I am reminded that we have educated many into nothing more than sub-adults w a mental capacity of a dull-normal 6 year old. Anything that a Bill or a Josh says just sails over their runty heads. These guys are part of a generation that is actually proud of its ignorance & shallowness. They are unable to speak the King’s English to even a minimal degree. Pitiful. They are bitter, sad, strident little losers who feel they must project their self-loathing on the rest of the world. Spiritually, morally, creatively empty people, they contribute only to the epidemic of national emptiness & dullness.

A computer in the hands (?) of a Danish or Baby Pinko can no more enhance their values than sunshine can sweeten garbage!

It’s okay to lie if you’re the president (except if you’re Bill Clinton lying about a personal issue). Bush was declassifying (forget about any superfluous paperwork documenting it) security information that was vital for the American people to know (regardless if it was entirely false). So I don’t see anything wrong with lying about spreading lies as long as the final result is thousands of people dying.

Bush is a congenital liar. He lied about 9/11, Osama being “public enemy #1”, warrantless wiretaps, and don’t forget his reasons for invading Iraq! WMDs, “Mission Accomplished”, clear and present danger to the US, “spreading Democracy”… all lies.

Here’s another whopper:

On May 29, 2003, 50 days after the fall of Baghdad, President Bush proclaimed a fresh victory for his administration in Iraq: Two small trailers captured by U.S. troops had turned out to be long-sought mobile “biological laboratories.” He declared, “We have found the weapons of mass destruction.”

The claim, repeated by top administration officials for months afterward, was hailed at the time as a vindication of the decision to go to war*. But even as Bush spoke, U.S. intelligence officials possessed powerful evidence that it was not true.

It boggles the mind! How can any sane person support a President who either has the IQ of a mango, or who is incapable of telling the truth? He even lies about the lies he’s told!! (see Iraq Niger uranium)

Newt Gingrich, a Georgia Republican’s favorite “family values” adulterer knows quicksand where he sees it. In Iraq…

VERMILLION - Newt Gingrich, the former Republican Speaker of the House, told students and faculty at the University of South Dakota Monday that the United States should pull out of Iraq and leave a small force there, just as it did post-war in Korea and Germany.

“It was an enormous mistake for us to try to occupy that country after June of 2003,” Gingrich said during a question-and-answer session at the school. “We have to pull back, and we have to recognize it.”

But the fact is that Mr. Wilson has little credibility left, as his charges against the Bush administration were eviscerated by the Senate Intelligence Committee in its July 2004 report on prewar intelligence. Here’s the way Susan Schmidt of The Washington Post (in a story buried on page A9) described the report on July 10, 2004: “Wilson’s assertions — both about what he did in Niger and what the Bush administration did with the information — were undermined yesterday in a bipartisan Senate intelligence committee report. The panel found that Wilson’s report, rather than debunking intelligence about purported uranium sales to Iraq, as he has said, bolstered the case for most intelligence analysts.”

In the same story, Miss Schmidt added that Mr. Wilson “provided misleading information” to her newspaper claiming that certain documents had been forged.

Seriously, the pinkos have proof that the Republicans did not participate in Jack Abramoff’s Indian bribery scheme:

The plan hit a snag in summer 2002 when a single GOP House appropriations staffer, Joel Kaplan, objected. An angry Abramoff team frantically contacted Republican leaders.

Poe declined to be interviewed for comment. NRCC spokesman Carl Forti said he didn’t know whether the committee ultimately helped but that its staff routinely suggests strategy for lobbyists.

But they do nail some democrats!:

Abramoff’s team turned to Congress, getting Michigan Democratic Sens. Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow to persuade their party’s leaders to request the money in a spending bill. Democrats controlled the Senate in 2002.

Crock.

Iran to Move Toward Large-Scale Enrichment

So, when a country (Iraq) might somehow possibly could be (at best) thinking about anything nuclear we occupy it, but when a country specifically states that it will enrich uranium on a vast scale in defiance of us, we sit around with our thumbs up our rear because we have already engaged nearly all our military capacity in the first.

While Bush/Cheney “play” soldier in Iraq, our real enemies are capitalizing on the weakness of an armed services that has been unnecessarily over-extended. ‘Great job, George!’

Since Iraq has been so burdened with poor intelligence, thoughtless planning, and now manipulations of released intelligence for political motivations, it is nearly impossible for this administration to sell Iran intervention regardless of anything that might happen there. They know it; we know it; the whole world knows it, now.

Prosecutor in CIA Leak Case Corrects Part of Court Filing

In a letter to U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton, Fitzgerald wrote yesterday that he wanted to “correct” the sentence that dealt with the issue in a filing he submitted last Wednesday. That sentence said Libby “was to tell Miller, among other things, that a key judgment of the NIE held that Iraq was ‘vigorously trying to procure’ uranium.”

Instead, the sentence should have conveyed that Libby was to tell Miller some of the key judgments of the NIE “and that the NIE stated that Iraq was ‘vigorously trying to procure’ uranium.”

Phew! I’m glad we got that cleared up!

Maybe we should move Fitzgerald over to the CIA as he seems to fancy himself an analyst now.
