Sheri,
It’s a tad amusing that you would take Mike to task for doing a cartoon without hearing her side, yet you support her 100% without hearing the police officers side.
Her appearance has changed a good bit and she wasn’t even going into her own office building, so there’s a pretty decent chance she wouldn’t be quite so easily recognized.

I can’t wait to see Mr. Suck’s take on this ‘toon! I think it’s great. Think he’ll agree?
Here’s something else for him to chew on..
March 31 (Bloomberg) — William F. Buckley Jr., the longtime conservative writer and leader, said George W. Bush’s presidency will be judged entirely by the outcome of a war in Iraq that is now a failure.
“Mr. Bush is in the hands of a fortune that will be unremitting on the point of Iraq,'' Buckley said in an interview that will air on Bloomberg Television this weekend. If he’d invented the Bill of Rights it wouldn’t get him out of his jam.””
Bill also goes on to critique former Presidents. He says Nixon suffered from “basic derangements”, Reagan had “ingenuity and historical intelligence”, and Clinton is a gifted politician whose philosophy can’t be explained because (I LOVE this!) “he doesn’t really have one”.
Goodnight all.

I wish Ms. McKinney would have handled this situation with a little more class by avoiding a scuffle with the US Capitol Police and filed a complaint with his superiors instead. I’m also appalled that some of Cynthia McKinney’s supporters are apparently ignoring the fact that their congresswoman behaved badly by having a hissy fit over not being recognized. Displaying bad behavior in public rarely fixes the problem, in fact it often makes the situation worse. I hope some lessons can be learned from this embarrassment.

McKinney accuses Capitol Hill cop of racism Bob Kemper - Staff Saturday, April 1, 2006
A cartoon does not make it all well and good.
How can you even make this charge of racism? (aside from the fact that it is the founding charter of the AJC and the chosen profession of all of these race baiting hanger ons.) Was the cop in a KKK outfit? Did he call her by a racial slur? Are all jackboot capital cops members of the White Aryan Brotherhood?
Anybody should be able to see what’s going on here. If there was a racial or sexual incident why was it not reported by Moonbat right then and there? Is a punch not a sign of inconvenience instead of outrage? She totally left from the scene, if there was racial harm done why did people have to go find her?
And to my real point: Look at who’s side Pelosi, Glover, the AJC and the others have squarely landed on regardless of the facts. Is this how they operate in general?
Like smear George Bush day in and day out even if there is nothing there?

Pipeline opponents enjoy victory they didn’t expect Margaret Newkirk, Ann Hardie - Staff Saturday, April 1, 2006
A “Victory?” Never mind that this story is in the “business” section, how does one go about labeling this a victory? For whom? The consumers, who will continue to pay high prices because the supply will not meet the demand.
Or for the pinkos that always seem to be on the anti American side of the story.
Rep. Jeff Lewis (R-White), chairman of the House Public Utilities Committee and HB 1325’s lead sponsor, blamed “misinformation on the bill, largely in part due to newspaper reporting. I’m talking mainly about the editorials.” (not my words, I merely agree!)

Good Job Mike!
McKinney added insult to injury with her accusation of racism against the security officer who was just doing his job. She may be among a group of just a few black women to serve in Congress, but there are probably hundreds of black women who work daily in the Capitol office buildings as professionals working for representatives. If the guard did not recognize her, then it was his duty to stop her and ask for identification. Besides the fact that she has changed her hair style and gained weight and no longer even looks like her official protrait!
McKinney’s paranoia and arrogance are out of control. Her lack of self confidence is shown each time she is not recognized and she whines that she is being treated as the “hired help.” Guess what NcKinney, you are “hired help,” hired to help the citizens of Georgia in the U.S. Congress.
McKinney continues to embarrass Georgia with her rudeness and unprofessional conduct. She was elected to serve the people of Georgia, but she serves no one but herself.

House Bill 1325, which would have helped Atlanta Gas Light build a major pipeline to the Georgia coast at the expense of smaller ratepayers, is dead.
Good riddance. A bill that would have hit the little guy, but not big users, for a pipeline that isn’t needed, because there already are pipelines, gets a stake through its heart.

During the early 1990’s, North Carolina and South Carolina, in particular, experienced some interstate pipeline curtailments in service during extremely heavy demand periods that occurred not only in the local area but also downstream in Northeast regional markets. The addition of new pipeline capacity and the integration of sizeable liquefied natural gas (LNG) peaking facilities in North Carolina have lessened, although not eliminated, the possibility of this occurring again.

This whole thing is almost surreal. It seems Ms. McKinney decided at some point on Thursday that a contrite and apologetic approach to a situation in which she was clearly in the wrong would not serve her public image appropriately. Rather than admit that she was in the wrong, which she clearly was when she violated established security protocol, she decided she could turn the whole thing around into a PR coup in which she could glorify herself as a victim of racism. What an outrageous embarrassment this woman is. She is a raving lunatic and hopefully the voters of the 4th district (myself included) will remember this incident as the last straw which reminded us that we need to vote for whomever runs against her in November. I am disappointed in Cynthia McKinney’s actions in the recent incident with the House’s security. No one, including her, should be above stopping when asked to do so by a police officer. This is a complex situation for our police. Ms. McKinney could have just as easily reprimanded this same officer as being a threat to national security if he had not stopped her.
Cynthia McKinney’s needs to be rational, this is 2006 and her self-righteous indignation is not what I feel is appropriate for someone in her office at this time. I feel disserved and frustrated her actions reflect on my district. It seems she is turning this into a media circus for her own benefit, as a forum for her racial resentment that has no place in that environment. Or could this be punishment for those who you do not recognize her and her narcissistic, self-indulgent importance.

McKinney is wrong. Trying to intimidate capitol police into NOT doing their job is wrong. Every congressman and congresswoman should stand up and be counted. They either want protection or NOT.

Moze, Get real! The security officers are not chosen by party affiliation. If anyone bypasses a security checkpoint and refuses to stop when ordered to, one could correctly assume that person is armed and intends to do harm. The officer was confronted by an uncooperative person, he correctly restrained her, and she resisted and assaulted him, plain and simple. He put himself potentially in harms’ way to protect all of the people in that building. He should be commended not accused of assault and racism.
Your right wing conspiracy theory is absurd! McKinney and her supporters are attention seeking, self-serving bigots.

When the story on Ms. McKinney broke I was hoping that everyone could just take a breath and relax. Ms. McKinney should have apologized to the policeman who was doing his job and thanked him for his service. It would have been a nice break from the unwarranted paranoia that normally surrounds Ms. McKinney. After a day to think about it though, Cynthia decided instead to do two things First she played the race card through her lawyer. Second she marshalled her supporters to help her fight. We can hear the echoes of “rush to judgement” and the creation of an impossibly high standard of proof to establsh her guilt. Now she has moved from being an arrogant paranoid politician (not that different from some others) to being a racist bigot who uses race to her political benefit. Now her conduct is both harmful and shameful.
The incident with the officer was fixable. The divisive racism is not. Time for her to go and time for the AJC to be forceful and public about saying so.

Cynthia Mckinney is an embarassment to all black women, including myself. How dare she try to turn her obnoxious behavior into a racial issue. I seriously doubt that the Capitol police weren’t worried about her race at that time. She wasn’t following directions and was approached for it. Should have wore the pin that you were supposed to be wearing, Ms. Mckinney. And then she wants to sound stupid by saying, the police should have recognized her, was a laughing matter to me. Give me a break, Ms. Mckinney. I’m pretty sure that just because you are a Congress woman does not mena that you must be recognizable. I’m sure that I wouldn’t have recognized you either due to the fact that there are a lot of Congresswomen. That’s absurd for her to say the issue was not about the mandated pin but about not being recognized. Who are you to be recognized? I’m not recognized and I think I should be! Another note, now she trys to talk about inappropriate touching. Give me a break, woman. The officer was trying to stop her and now that’s considered inappropriate. She’s just plain wrong and shouldn’t have hit the officer. When do we have the right to hit police officers? No matter what job we hold, that does not give us the right to strike an officer. So now I guess Congress members are above the law and can do whatever they want to. I think not. I don’t see how she got elected. I can’t believe I voted for her a while back. I’m highly embarassed by her recent actions. You are not above the law, Ms. Mckinney. You don’t have the right to strike a police officer. You don’t have the right to be recognized by anyone. I hope she is charged to the full extent of her actions and doesn’t get away with this one. If she does, I will be p** and just might protest. This is unexcusable behavior for someone in her position.

If Ms. McKinney was a true professional she would not have been late for an important meeting, (what is more important here-her meeting or the security of everyone in that building?) and would have been proudly wearing her badge. Since she did not choose to wear her badge - and not for the first time- she should have been gracious enough to stop and explain herself. I don’t care if she is black, white, green or purple she is the elected servant of the people who voted for her.

Ain’t the blacks got figured out that they aren’t the minority race anymore, the Latinos are. They can take their race cards and shuffle em where the sun don’t shine from now on. Even the Dems are courting the Mex vote now since blacks wisely split their vote to Republicans in 2004. Dems will just leave the Mexicans hanging like they are doing the blacks now if Latins are dumb enough to buy their BS.

Tony Rudy, former Chief Deputy of disgraced representative Tom Delay plead guilty yesterday to charges he conspired with Jack Abramoff to corrupt public officials and defraud clients. Alice Fisher, courageous Assistant Attorney General said: “The American public loses when officials and lobbyists conspire to buy and sell influence in such a corrupt and brazen manner.By his admission Mr. Rudy paints a picture of Washington which the American people and law enforcement will simply not tolerate”. Every citizen in this country would be held to task if they raised a hand to strike a peace officer - our representatives are not above the law, and must be held accountable. It seems CM has to do something every year or so to get her face in the paper. She is a do-nothing political hack with a record of doing zilch for the 4th district - I know, I live in that district. Race baiting (a family tradition) is window dressing. This is playing out exactly how CM planned.
With the multitude of issues we should be discussing, this garbage will take center stage (locally - in the AJC) for 3-4 months.
Each person who pulled a lever and voted her into office should be embarrassed. Remember this circus at the next election.

How dare you racists send comments calling Ms Mckinney a moonbat? Then you turn around and say she is playing the “race card”? Ridiculous and hypocritical when you are using racist terms to criticize her. If you want to pretend to be one of the FEW “conservatives” that is not a card carrying KLAN member at least do a better job than that. All you’re doing is proving her point that racism occurs daily and only people who are not victims of it refuse to see it.

I have followed Representative McKinney over the past two decades and have admired her uncanny ability to remain a circus act. I missed her when she was defeated in the primary a few years back and was hoping she’d somehow find a way back.
She is an entertainer, just like a Clooney, a Streisand or Belafonte—fine performers but just can’t take them seriously.
Since she is no threat, I’d just give her the run of the place (The Capital) and let her entertain. She makes for a good 2-3 day story.

Now who couldn’t have predicted Ms. McKinney would pull the race card…again? Why is it when she can’t win on her own merits, when she can’t present a valid argument, when she can’t find the favor of those she “represents”, she always goes back to these cheap tactics? When people like this do not have any character, and put themselves in these situations because of the decisions they make, they ALWAYS react with such desperate measures, and they only embarrass themselves further, as well as embarrassing those they are supposed to represent. Look at this situation folks, and then look up the definition of a “leader”. Look at the real leaders of today, and compare how they react to and overcome adversity, difficulty, and misfortune. Look at their professionalism. Does cool, calm, and collected come to mind? There is a glaring difference between how they define leadership, in their daily lives. Ms. McKinney, you are a terrible embarrassment to the state of Georgia and to the meaning of leadership. Please start wearing your security lapel pin in place of that chip on your shoulder.

“Moonbat” is not a racist term. It means that person doesn’t live in the same plane as the rest of us normal thinking beings. Cynthia McKinney and Andy are moonbats (for different reasons).
Cynthia McKinney is not an attractive woman! Oh man, I can’t believe anyone said that. Well maybe if Willie B was still around she would find someone that would find her attractive. Oh good lord,I can’t believe that one.
If you listen to Cynthia, any black woman should be allowed to walk right through security just becase she is a black woman. Yea right! Like all the terriorist bombers and all around bad guys only come in a white male flavor. If you or I went flying by any security station then we would be arrested on the spot. Who gives a dran whether or not she is attractive? I just think it is utterly outrageous that this woman did what she did, thought about it and then decided that her best defense was to go on the offensive, and not with a machine gun, but with a nuclear arsenal. The police officer was the “instigator” and he touched her, “a female, black congresswoman”, “inapprpropriately”. Just what IS the “appropriate” way for a Capitol Security Officer to “touch” someone who has just walked around a security checkpoint and ignored three requests to stop?
And the GALL of her to trot out Danny Glover and Harry Belafonte, neither of which bothers to address the facts of what happened. It was more of a preemptive move to get the word out that she had been “abused” in the past and no one had better “abuse” her this time around. Maybe she could get Al Sharpton to go review some of his Tawana Bradley notes and then they could ride around D.C. looking for this animalistic guard who assaulted and abused her. And I am sure Jesse will weigh in on this one before it’s all said and done.
This is going to be a highly sensitive issue, but it is one that could have been avoided if she had just sort of let sleeping dogs lie. But no. Rather than take a carefully thought-out and contrite approach she instead chose the aggressive “these mean racists are attacking me” approach. I hope she gets treated just like Joe Citizen would be treated in the same circumstance. She will deserve it.

WashingtonState, McKinney’s antics may seem peripheral to what is going on in the world at large, but the fact is that she represents Georgia in the US Congress, and she failed to behave in a civilized manner and created a racist mountain out of security breach molehill.
McKinney’s actions demonstrate that she was NOT thinking, NOT controlling her behavior, and NOT using common sense when she refused to stop and then struck the securtiy officer. Her actions, excuses, and racist accusations destroy any expectations of professionalism and maturity that Georgians should be entitled to from an elected member of Congress!!

Yes you are correct. The Bush adminstration has been very adept at changing the conversation to either debating the messenger or changing the subject to debating trivial things while they change the real issue in the background. I am absolutely amazed how they can spin some major issue and have people circling around discussing red herrings all the time while they plow right through with something that the followers can’t (or won’t) see.
Fortunately, with Bush’s ratings in the toilet, we can have some legitimate discussions about the war and immigration without the loyal followers being blinded by loyalty to the absurd.

McKinny has been and now continues to be an embarrassment to not only Metro Atlanta but the State of Georgia as well.
Obvously SHE instigated the confrontation when she (admitted) purposely skirted the security check point and forced them to stop her.
I thought Belefonte and Glover … what a joke. Were they with her at the time of incident? Or are they relying on her usual “SPIN of attempted intimidation” by playing the race card again.
It’s not about race McKinny; it’s about you one day finally realizing that you are not any better than anyone else in this country. Unfortunatley it seems you will never realize that.

Ugh! How much longer will I have to have this ridiculous excuse for a human represent me? I’d like someone who can actually do something for my district rather than wasting my time and the time of everyone on this board with her “ooooh, oooh I’m subject to racism” garbage.
How much do you want to bet that the guard wouldn’t have recognized the Queen of England either. Guess that makes him racist against Whites too.
Any other congressman/woman would have stopped when asked and perhaps been irritated, but would have complied. If a white guy had clocked the capitol police, he’d already be in prison. McKinney doesn’t think that she should have equal rights despite her race but that she should have special rights just because she is black.

There are 435 members of the house. Could you immediately recognize over 400 of your co-workers or neighbors?
McKinney came through an entrance she usually does not use.
McKinney drastically changed her hair style. Would you immediately recognize Ted Kennedy is he grew golden locks like Fabio?
McKinney did not wear the identification pin given to all House members, even though she had a similar incident years ago.
The cop, for whatever reason, did not recognize McKinney. Perhaps he was distracted when she walked by and didn’t see her face. Who knows? When he tapped her on the shoulder to stop her and find out why she went around the metal detector, all she had to do was say, “I’m Cynthia McKinney…like my new hair?” and she would have been on her happy way. But no! She had to get an attitude about it and resorted to VIOLENCE.

I don’t know how anyone can call the name moonbat “racist.” It’s almost like how can you call a Capital security officer doing his job a racist? There seems to be some confusion around recently about what racism really is, allow me to provide an example:
By George April 1, 2006 07:33 AM When I saw McKinney on TV, the first thing that came to mind was Buckwheat lives!
Buckwheat was a caricature of a black child used to entertain southern democrats back in the olden times. To use it to describe Miss Moonbat is an extension of that caricature and seriously out of line.
On a different subject, I sure would like to know what Midori thinks I’m gaining by jacking Joey’s name? Is this where the perfect description of moonbat can be used to describe Midori, Bill Clinton’s ho?

I think there needs to be 4 party political system.
Democrats for those people who truly believe in the principles of the Democratic Party.
Republicans for those for those people who truly believe in the principles of the Republican Party.
Independents who believe in some of what the Democrats and Republicans believe but won’t carry the water for either party.
Moonbats for those who don’t have a firm grasp of reality but want to spout off about anything at any time in any direction. (CM & Andy)

In a video, recorded before she was freed and posted by her captors on an Islamist Web site, Carroll spoke out against the U.S. military presence. But Carroll said the recording was made under threat. Her editor has said three men were pointing guns at her at the time.
“During my last night in captivity, my captors forced me to participate in a propaganda video. They told me I would be released if I cooperated. I was living in a threatening environment, under their control, and wanted to go home alive. So I agreed,” she said in a statement read by her editor in Boston.
I hold no grudge over this and I hope no one else does. Her actions were understandable. This is not a “Jane Fonda” by any stretch of the imagination.

Sen. Patrick J. Leahy yesterday became the highest-ranking Democrat to support censuring President Bush over the White House’s warrantless eavesdropping program, as Republicans accused Democrats of imperiling national security for news sound bites.
Watergate felon John W. Dean testified yesterday in support of the resolution. The former aide to President Nixon said he thinks impeachment in the case of Mr. Bush’s terrorist surveillance program is “premature” but that censure would be appropriate.
Let’s set aside the Nation’s business, tax reform, medicare reform, immigration reform, etc. and gin up some stupid political stunt. This is your democrat party.

Here we go again:
And so it was in St. Paul, Minn., where City Hall’s “human-rights director,” Tyrone Terrill, in his divine wisdom removed a toy rabbit and pastel-covered eggs which had been placed in the lobby beneath a sign of “Happy Easter.” To the multicultural crowd and idiot-savants in general, this kind of overt Christianizing of sacred government hallways is unconstitutional of the highest order, since it might “offend non-Christians,” according to the Associated Press. Offensive-prone Christians should hope that Mr. Terrill never figures out whom the city of St. Paul is named after.
A little closer to home is the Fairfax County Park Authority, which at Lake Accontink Park on April 15 is having a little event for the kids (all ages) from 12-3 pm. “Great kids’ activity!” reads the post on the Park Authority’s Web site. “Children hunt treat-filled eggs and visit the Spring Bunny.” If you’re wondering what the “Spring Bunny” is, give the Park Authority a call at 703-569-0285.

Right on topic, I have a question about this excerpt from The Washington Times:
Miss McKinney “was assaulted, and because she was assaulted and placed in impending fear of her safety she responded,” said her attorney, James W. Myart Jr.
So was her attack on the guard a pre-emptive strike?
And what about this?:
About three dozen Georgia schoolchildren surrounded Miss McKinney, some holding signs that read: “Is Cynthia a Target?” and “Recognize Our Congresswoman.”
Did she bus these kids in from GA to DC or were they already hanging out at Howard U coincidentally?

Excellent idea. Call Ken Mehlman, 1-800-GOP, he will hook you up with some free advertizing.
Yet the real Marxism, although no longer embodied in movements or governments, has never been truer or more relevant: Most of the world’s main problems today are inseparable from the dynamics of the capitalist system itself. With corporate capitalism everywhere in command, the outlook is for increased poverty, more environmental degradation, ever more uneven distribution of resources and the undermining of traditional societies and ways of life, for a culture dominated by marketing, advertising and uneven global development.

Hey Andy,
President Bush condemned a group of good American citizens worried about the breaking of U.S. immigration law. He condemned the organizers of Project Minuteman as “vigilantes” even though they have broken no law and pledge not to do so. An hour or two later, Mr. Bush welcomed to his Texas ranch a man who insults the United States for its immigration policy and leads a government that routinely flouts U.S. immigration law.
So Andy, is Bush with us or with the terrorists?

Yes, us rednecks have forgotten that a Grand Dragon from West Virginia is still sitting in the left side of the Senate.
Besides, had that police officer actually been a redneck, he would have remembered every redneck’s inbread school lessons from “Little Rascals”. He would certainly have known that you do not mess with anyone that looks like the Wild Man from Borneo.

THE HOUSE CAUCUS TO RETURN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO MINORITY STATUS—also known as the House Immigration Reform Caucus—held a press conference Thursday. The GOP solons were upset. The Senate Judiciary Committee had not followed the lead of the House in adopting an “enforcement only” immigration bill. The committee had reported out a sensible and comprehensive immigration bill that includes border security measures, a guest worker program, and, for illegal immigrants already here, a path towards earned legalization and citizenship.

Cynthia’s behavior is deplorable. There should be a seperate entrance or line for members where they ALL should show PROPER identification. - NO EXCEPTIONS.
In this day and age NO ONE should be entitled to special privleges like those she is demanding. The safety and security of others would be put at risk. So what if she has been there 11 years. What if an officer was new on the job? If your security depended on someone who was expected to recognize hundreds of people by sight, and they were subjected to the rants of someone like her whenever they thought it prudent to verify one’s identity, how safe would you feel?
She was wrong and should have apologized in person to the officer. That should have been the end of it. But when she got wind of possible charges and decided to play the race card, she only made herself look even more ridiculous. - And probably ensured the filing of charges.

If Bush had struck a capital security officer, the Washington Post would have reported it as though the officer was maimed, his wife’s identity was leaked and his family’s crypt at the cemetery had been desecrated.

If you ever wondered how much a pinko hates God just read the newspaper:

They can feel trapped, she said, by unrealistic expectations “to live a certain way, to dress a certain way, for their children to behave a certain way.”
This is an excuse for murder, feeling trapped?

Dangerous new phase in Iraq war: fear and revenge By Thomas L. Friedman
“I don’t know anymore what can be done to rescue the situation. At least, those who are supposed to be in positions of responsibility should stop lying and painting a false picture. I regret sounding so pessimistic, but the alarm must be sounded. What is happening in Baghdad is something really awful.”

If I were an anti-war leftie, I’d be very depressed by the Iraq anniversary protests. A few hundred people show up hither and yon to see Cindy Sheehan get arrested for the 15th time that week, or Charlie Sheen unveil his critically acclaimed the-World-Trade-Center-was-a-controlled-explosion conspiracy theory. The “Hot Shots! Part Deux” star is apparently an expert in that field, and he’d never seen commercial property break up that quickly since Heidi Fleiss’ hooker ring. Anyway, Susan Sarandon’s going to play Cindy in the movie, or maybe she’s playing Charlie, or both — either way, they might as well give her the Oscar during the opening titles.

First Amendment?? Separation of Church and State? We don’t need no stinkin’ separation!!
We have had small-scale theocracies in North America before — in Puritan New England and later in Mormon Utah. Today, a leading power such as the United States approaches theocracy when it meets the conditions currently on display: an elected leader who believes himself to speak for the Almighty, a ruling political party that represents religious true believers, the certainty of many Republican voters that government should be guided by religion and, on top of it all, a White House that adopts agendas seemingly animated by biblical worldviews.
What do Muslim extremists and the fools in the White House have in common?? Well, now that you mention it… lots.

While Ms Mckinney’s actions seem to be those of a arrogant, entitled person with need of parental guidance, (You would hope her father would be using the benefit of his age/experience to advise her to be more mature) the jury is still out. What we have “heard” so far seems to support the above comment, fact is, we don’t know what happened. I can’t wait to see if they will release a video that settles the matter, and allows all but the blind (extreme right or left) to pass judgment upon her actions or the security officers.
By KABA

mm, Ms. McKinney’s actions were learned at her father’s knee, as in “the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree.” And according to news reports I heard, there is no video showing the assault. McKinney breezed around the checkpoint and was well beyond the range of the camera when the officer finally stopped her after repeated commands to STOP.
We do know what happened; she didn’t have her lapel pin on, which she admitted; she was hurrying to a meeting and didn’t stop when asked, which she admitted; and she struck the officer which she admitted, but put her own racist harrassment spin on it by saying she was profiled and that he touched her inappropriately.
She’s lucky he caught her and didn’t shoot her! He should be commended for doing his job protecting the people in that office building, and she should be ashamed of her actions and arrogance and should apologize, and then shut up!

SSS,
I’m sorry but I don’t see what Religious fundamentalism has to do with rejecting junk science. Perhaps you can connect the dots for us.
You see, I’m not a fundamentalist and I think that global warming hysteria is based on junk science. So does Steve Forbes, an Episcopalian - hardly a fundamentalist Christian sect.
And speaking of religious beliefs-
Global Warming: Religion or Science?
This is not the realm of healthy scientific discovery where testability, evidence and proof are king, but rather the unhealthy province of a doctrinaire religious belief, where unquestioning, unwavering, faith and blind proselytizing rules the day.
That “religious belief” he speaks of in “global warming”.
Here are more scientists who hold the same view
Who should I believe - The scientists, or the political policy wonk?

A scientist at NASA recently had to deal with public relations officials who wanted to review his stuff prior to dissemination, and the left went bananas, as if this were the greatest political misuse of science in the recent history of America.
It wasn’t even close.
A respect for context should have led reporters and commentators to emphasize that the problems of James Hansen at NASA were nothing compared to the problems of William Happer. He’s the scientist fired as director of energy research at the U.S. Department of Energy in the Clinton administration because he disagreed publicly with that great arbiter of scientific knowledge, Al Gore.
Mr. Hansen is a global-warming alarmist. Such people long ago won the hearts of the media in our land, just as some very smart, highly particular, scrupulously diligent scientists have earned endless ad hominem attacks for having pointed out all the uncertainties about the rate of warming, its dangers and the extent to which it is induced by burning fossil fuels.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Comcast Cable (NOT COX) has given millions in political donations since 1998. The national Republican Party committees are its biggest organizational recipient, with donations totaling $851,000. President Bush is its biggest individual recipient with $109,000 in donations.
Adelphia (NOT COX) has given $166,000 to Republican committees, $17,000 to conservative Rep. John Peterson, R-Pa., and $12,000 to Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., one of the most conservative members of the Senate.
This is the usual method with Republiscum, they think if they lie enough people will believe their lies after a while. Honest mistake though right? “Adelphia” sounds so much like “Cox”.

There are plenty of sinners on both sides of the aisle. Unless they are major players, I don’t think it is productive to bring those sins up. Equally, I think it is ridiculous for anyone, Democrat or Republican, to claim that those of his party are without sin. The best path is to stay away from those kinds of discussions, not to feed into them. Once people start down that road, any hope of rational discourse goes out the window and name calling is all you have left.

April 02, 2006 Cooler Heads Needed on Warming
Eighty-five percent of Americans say warming is probably happening, and 62 percent say it threatens them personally. The National Academy of Sciences says the rise in the Earth’s surface temperature has been about one degree Fahrenheit in the past century. Did 85 percent of Americans notice? Of course not. They got their anxiety from journalism calculated to produce it. Never mind that one degree might be the margin of error when measuring the planet’s temperature. To take a person’s temperature, you put a thermometer in an orifice or under an arm. Taking the temperature of our churning planet, with its tectonic plates sliding around over a molten core, involves limited precision.

Imagine my great disappointment to find out that my mentor, Gary Michael Durst, Ph.D., author of “Napkin Notes on the Art of Living”, did not coin this phrase:

O.K., I have a new mentor….that “bad boy” Russell Crowe (The Gladiator), loved by his Emperor Marcus Aurelius. I just couldn’t find myself drawn to Richard Harris who actually played Aurelius in the movie.

RE: Cynthia McKinney
As a member of her district I am ashamed of the way she has acted.
In these days of increasing violence and terrorism, the police should have stopped her and everyone else who is not showing proper identification.
The simple facts are: She went around a security checkpoint She was not recognized, whether the officer was new, her new hair style, or any other factor The officer, doing his job, stopped an unknown individual from walking through a checkpoint unchecked.
To the officer, we should all be grateful that he is doing his job in protecting the Capitol. To the officer, it could have been anyone who was walking past, someone with a gun, bomb, bio-agent, etc.
Rep. McKinney should have respected this and simply shown her id, which she should have been wearing, and thanked the officer for doing his job.
She instead decided to become hostile. Her actions were uncalled for and she owes that officer an apology!

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I had the good fortune of going to school before the Left took over.
When I went to school subjects like “Western Civilization”, and “History” and “Latin”, and “The Great Books” (including The Bible) were taught. I was fortunate enough to receive an education that was rooted in the classics, not the classic comics.
Now if you want to stick to statements like this: …these lifeforms must be eradicated from our midst and use that to demonstrate your superior education, go right ahead. Say it loud, and say it proud. Just don’t dare to turn around and call anyone else a NAZI, unless you are paying them a sincere compliment from Wilhelm the ignorant.

Now that is interesting!!

Klein said he agreed “wholeheartedly” with Jon Stewart’s widely discussed and uncharacteristically stuffy remark that “Crossfire” and similar shows were “hurting America” with their occasionally raucous displays of emotional commitment to a political point of view.
So what does this clown Stewart think his show is doing for America?
Opinion journalism can be more honest than objective-style journalism, because it doesn’t have to hide its point of view. All observations are subjective. Writers freed of artificial objectivity can try to determine the whole truth about their subject and then tell it whole to the world. Their “objective” counterparts have to sort their subjective observations into two arbitrary piles: truths that are objective as well, and truths that are just an opinion. That second pile of truths cannot be published, except perhaps as a quote from someone else.

Surveys galore have shown that somewhere around 90 percent of the writers, editors and other personnel in the news media are Democrats and only about 10 percent are Republicans. We depend on the news media for information about government and politics, foreign affairs and war, public policy and demographic trends - for a picture of the world around us. But the news comes from people 90 percent of whom are on one side of the political divide. Doesn’t sound like an ideal situation.
Both of these too-good-to-check stories of course reflected badly on the Bush administration, which seems to be a requirement for getting your story in the Times these days. The relentlessly negative coverage of Iraq in most news outlets falls in the same category. Stories about American heroes, stories about soldiers building schools and water systems, stories about the successes of Iraqis - you have to look awfully hard to find them in most news media today. What you do see is a determination to make Vietnam and Watergate happen again.

Even the democrats think the democrats suck:
Democrats’ Narrow Vision By Fred Hiatt Washington Post Monday, April 3, 2006; Page A19
You can look at the Democrats’ national security plan, released last week, as simply a political shield, akin to the upgraded body armor they promise for U.S. troops.
The Democrats do indeed attack the failures and promise an end to incompetence. But they also reveal a different world view, one that is far more cramped and inward-looking. While reassuring voters that they will keep “foreign interests” out of “our national security infrastructure” — including “mass transit” — the Democrats do not find space to mention democracy even once.

Even when reporting a stupid suck story like global warming, liberal See BS cannot refrain from the lies:
In concluding the Hansen segment on “60 Minutes,” CBS correspondent Scott Pelley said: “For months, we’ve been trying to talk to the president’s science adviser, but we were finally told he would never be available.” White House communications director Nicolle Wallace told me: “‘60 Minutes’ never contacted the press office.” Assuming both statements are accurate, they resulted in a one-sided political presentation that ignored the real scientific debate.
Lying must be inbred into these pinkos.
Hansen sounded much the same alarm in 1988, when he energized the global warming movement by predicting a temperature rise of 0.8 degrees Fahrenheit over the next 10 years. When the actual rise in surface temperatures over the decade was only 0.2 degrees, Hansen stepped back from his earlier predictions.

A woman can’t be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans’ benefits and combat pay.

Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism.
HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.
Global warming and tobacco’s link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.
A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

The Predator monitored the three terrorists for about a half hour while they used a pick ax to dig a hole in the road, placed an explosive round in the hole, and strung wires from the hole to a ditch on the side of the road. What are the odds of that do you think? Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Jennifer Flowers, Juanita Broderick, and Monica Lewinsky and others are all crazy as a loon.
How does he manage to attract all these nuts? And how do they manage to outwit security and get so much private time with him? Are they insane AND brilliant?

A recent study by Steven Camarota of the Center for Immigration Studies shows, for instance, that between March 2000 and March 2005 only 9 percent of net new adult jobs went to the native-born Americans who form 61 percent of the workforce — and 1.5 million discouraged Americans left that workforce altogether as a result.
This immigrant competition has hit black Americans especially hard. A recent New York Times report pointed out, “In 2000, 65 percent of black male high school dropouts in their 20s were jobless — that is, unable to find work, not seeking it or incarcerated. By 2004, the share had grown to 72 percent, compared with 34 percent of white and 19 percent of Hispanic dropouts.”

Erotic thrillers lose steam at box office
Paul Verhoeven, director of the first “Basic Instinct” (which scored $353 million worldwide) as well as the widely ridiculed “Showgirls” (now regarded as something of a camp classic), attributes the genre’s demise to the current American political climate.
“Anything that is erotic has been banned in the United States,” said the Dutch native. “Look at the people at the top (of the government). We are living under a government that is constantly hammering out Christian values. And Christianity and sex have never been good friends.”
Oh, really. When did this start? We are barricading the doors of America’s movie theaters now?
Or could it be that most people are just tired of the left’s mindless obsession with pornography? They find dull and juvenile to see women portrayed as objects and pieces of meat?

Who will address Iran? Who remembers this shameful incident?
[We knew 30 years ago that the Western nations that had created the idea of “the international community” had neither the stomach nor the will to fight global terrorism as one, even if that war was directed against them all. In November 1974, PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat addressed the U.N. General Assembly brandishing a gun holster (he’d been convinced to leave his pistol outside the hall) and warned, “Don’t let this olive branch fall from my hand.”
As Barry Rubin writes in his biography of Arafat, “To bin Ladin’s assistant, [Abu Ubeid el-] Qurashi, a quarter-century later, ‘the best proof’ of terrorism’s value as a strategy was that Arafat was an honored guest at the UN General Assembly just eighteen months after his men gunned down athletes at the Olympic games.”](http://www.slate.com/id/2106610/)

Why are the libs trying to change the subject on this Clinton deal, anyway?
Barbara Bush is a gracious, respectable woman with an extraordinary amount of class. Through all of the years that we have been blessed with this wonderful woman’s presence, we have never heard her speak unkindly about anybody, even considering the terrible sh-it that these lowlife liberals say about her husband.
So when she does have something to say about someone’s character, we should all take notice.
Laura Bush noted how the Lincoln Bedroom looked worn out.
It seems that one would normally observe protocols in such situations, taking into account that the Clintons are, after all, rednecks, and probably have a refrigerator on their porch in Arkansas. But for this to cause concern with Laura she must have seen some funk growing on the walls or something of that nature.
Which all gets back to the point I made so early in this day: The Clinton’s are trailer park trash.
In more than one way.

Yes, I went to school before the liberals took it over, back in 1929. Back then the mythology of the bible was taught as history, as it should be. Darwinism was considered the devil’s trick (which of course it is), because we all know that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time in the Garden of Eden, just like on Fred Flintstone. I went to school so long ago Jesse Helms was my first boyfriend in 9th grade- I was 19 at the time and he was 13. Now I hear he has dementia, an affliction I do not, I repeat not, have. Supreme Court Rejects War Powers Challenge
WASHINGTON (AP) — A divided Supreme Court on Monday rejected an appeal from Jose Padilla, held as an enemy combatant without traditional legal rights for more than three years, sidestepping a challenge to Bush administration wartime detention powers.
Rightfully so, the Constitution of the United States is there to protect citizens of the United States, not Islamic terrorists.
Gee, I wonder which side of the “divided” court would like to get Mr. Padilla back to his appointment with the suicide belt and a crowd of innocent human beings?

Andy, Padilla is a US citizen you dunce, that is why you heard of this case
Held for 4 years without charges in military jail for ” conspiracy to set off a dirty bomb”
Then when the 4th circuit “think Luttig” asked for some type of evidence to hold him, all of a sudden the govt changed it’s story and said he was now involved in money laundering and financing a terrorist orginization. Just forget about what we told you we were holding him on for the last 4 years.
Padilla may be a terrorist, murderer, innocent man… I have no clue and neither do you. I do love my country enough to not want to see it abandon it’s constitution just to pacify frightened old men. RE you are correct.
The main reason the Supreme Court didn’t take the case of Padilla, a US citizen, was because the Bush administration dropped the “enemy combatant” charge and indicted him on completely different charges the old fashioned way. Through a civilian grand jury.
Conservative members of the court acknowledged a very important issue was made moot by this shift, but that it will come up again.
In fact, three of the Justices who rejected an appeal hearing said they would have joined the minority, granting a full hearing, if this weren’t just an academic question:
“Based on the vote breakdown, it appears the court would have agreed to hear the appeal had Padilla not been charged.”
“‘In light of the previous changes in his custody status and the fact that nearly four years have passed since he first was detained, Padilla, it must be acknowledged, has a continuing concern that his status might be altered again,’ Justice Anthony M. Kennedy wrote for himself, Stevens and Roberts. ‘That concern, however, can be addressed if the necessity arises.’”
Once again, Suck’s legal interpetation blows chunks. But this can be expected from someone who once said the Justice Department was part of the Judiciary, and not Legislative branch of the federal government.

You’re correct Tamika! Our race will never get anywhere with people like Cynthia McKinney representing us. Why shouldn’t the police be able to perform their job without the “poor, picked-on, black, and woman” defense being yelled? If there had been a similar looking black woman trying to enter would she be grateful they performed their jobs as they should and stop her? She is CRAZY!!!!!

Last year I saw a terrific TV program on Atlanta. It has a large and very up-scale black community. I am wondering why they cannot find a higher quality person for its representative? Most effective Congresspersons do not punch people out, even once not many times, or blame others. Politics is a tough business but government depends on people of character and discretion to make cool headed decisions.

Maybe W really is the second coming. After Jesus, the bible was kept as history but the old laws were cast aside for christians, thus christians do not follow the laws of Kosher, or many other dictates in the old testament. The hard part is finding in the new testement which parts of the old to ignore.
Now GWB comes along and the same thing happens to the constitution, it is kept around for historical purposes, but the new law comes forth from W and must be adhered to. Again, the hard part is finding which laws apply to us as opposed to those that apply to him

This is how the high and mighty pinkos treat American citizens when they get the opportunity, even citizens that didn’t go to a terrorist training camp and study up on how to waste an American city:
The Japanese American Internment refers to the forcible relocation of approximately 112,000 to 120,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans, 62 percent of whom were United States citizens, from the west coast of the United States during World War II to hastily constructed housing facilities called War Relocation Camps in remote portions of the nation’s interior.
Bush could suspend the Constitution if he wanted to, it’s like the law, we are at war and he does have precedent, even if it was a barbaric liberal that set it. And the Supreme Court agrees with me.

Typical. Mckinney screws up, and then plays not only the black card but the female card to see if she can beat the thing. She obviously has personal issues, but then without question certain black leadership supports her 100% without personally having any real facts which of course utimately makes them look bad when she likely turns out to be quilty.
She is an embrassement to Congress, Georgia, and should be an embrassement to everyone in the district she represents. She should be an embrassment to black females everywhere as well.
Remember, there are a number of other black female congress members who have never had any incidents of this nature. Likely because most are well adjusted, and are mature enough to have handled the situation in an simple adult manner, she obviously can not things in an appropriate manner.

I live in Cynthia’s district and she is my representative. I did not vote for her, and as much as I dislike her voting record, I will not judge her actions based on newspaper, radio, and TV accounts. “Remember folks, in this country we are innocent of charges until proven guilty.” And I hope that’s how I will be treated if ever I am accused of an offense. I have been around the block several times in my 74 years. I have worked in police stations in Europe and North Africa. I like the way it works here in the good old USA. Hasn’t the security issue not been at the forefront of just about every government office in America? I don’t care if I see you 2000 times a day, follow procedure! Had something happened would she claim that she was not protected because she was Black? What if this was a new person working security? Cynthia McKinney - Mainstream Democrat?
Cynthia McKinney (D-Conspiracy) From the January 3 / January 10, 2005 issue: She’s back.
It’s a sinkhole,” said Chip Berlet, when I first asked him about these conspiracy theories. He sounded a note of regret about McKinney. “A lot of McKinney’s complaints about the government are standard progressive fare.”
But which ones? Her conspiracy theories, or her hard-left politics? In truth, the line between the two is increasingly difficult to discern.
Maybe all of this helps explain why Cynthia McKinney got her seat back. Maybe when McKinney shared her disturbing theories about President Bush in 2002, she was not so much falling off the edge of progressive politics as anticipating it.
Let’s see if MoveOn.Org & friends take her side this time, or dump her.

I am very concerned about the latest incident by Cynthia McKinney. I have been embarased for years and have voted against each and every time I could. She is demonstrating for all the world to see what morons we elect in Georgia.
She is stopped by an officer trying to identify congresspersons entering the building. She does not have on her ID pin. Asked to stop and be identified 3 times, and she then makes a rediculious statement that is the officer’s fault.
How stupid does she think people are? In a time of hightened security issues, I believe the officer should have stopped her, THAT’S HIS JOB. She then follows a few days later with the typical racial issue.
I am so embarassed for the people of her district. I wish I could afford to move out of it. I don’t want that moron representing me——EVER!!!!!

This story really hits home! [Is political persuasion mostly useless? Is the percentage of people essentially immune to rational argument about political things increasing?] (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/11/20/opinion/meyer/main584753.shtml)
A psychologist in Atlanta and a business school professor in Syracuse, N.Y., have interesting observations on these sorts of questions from the entirely different perspectives of neuroscience and public opinion research. The good news may be that the partisan lout in your office who absolutely will not listen to reason may not be at fault; he may just be a slave to his ventromedial prefrontal cortex. The bad news is that these louts may be becoming more prevalent — and more loutish.
And:
In 1972, even though the country was heated up over Nixon and Vietnam, only 4.9 percent described themselves as either extremely liberal or extremely conservative. That rose to 6.6 percent in 2004, an increase of about one-third. Though the baseline percentage is small, a 30 percent increase still potentially effects a couple of million votes.
Interestingly, the percentage of extreme liberals in these surveys grew far more than extreme conservatives, from 2.3 percent in ‘72 (Nixon) to 3.6 percent in ‘04 (Bush II).
Very interesting, but I think the 3.6 percent number is way low.

All those Republicans who crossed party lines in the primary to help get McKinney out and save the people of Georgia from national humiliation were let down by Majette’s failure to realize just how she got elected.
When I worked in Washgton D.C., where just about everyone was someone important, what I observed was the more important people were the nicer. Are you listening Cynthia? No one really important would ever through the kind of tantrum that McKinney feels is her due.

McKinney epitomizes all that plagues the sustained progress of blacks. She’s nothing more than a hateful, racist hippocrite. She’s certainly no public servant. The only service she provides is to herself when the public eye is turned on her after such an egomaniacal fiasco, and other misguided clowns like Danny Glover and the feeble-minded Harry Belafonte seize the moment to spew and blither about how “whitey” is still conspiring to drag their poor souls down. You know, where drivers didn’t need to show their driver’s license, police officers weren’t required to carry a badge or wear a uniform, and anyone entering a bar was assumed to be 21 years old. But if a party has a right to act ruthlessly in its self-interest, it also has a duty not to cave to the other party or its media allies. A party should get rid of its leaders on its own schedule — not its opponent’s. That is why last year, when Democrats were calling for Tom’s blood, I wrote a rhetorically violent column urging the Republican Party not to throw him over. The party did stand firm with him then — and in fact gave him a big party.
Tom has served the party magnificently over the last two decades — both as a principled conservative legislator, and as a shrewd and tireless political operator. And he has had the good judgment to exit on his own two feet.
Both the Republican Party and the country are stronger and better for all that Tom DeLay has contributed.

They all earned millions working for the United Arab Emirates weeks before their roles became public in the sale of American-based port operations to Dubai World Ports.
This shouldn’t come a surprise to anyone; in fact, just about anyone who works with the UAE earns millions. But no one has earned more than former President Clinton.
And Clinton himself has done well by this connection. According to knowledgeable sources, Clinton and his library have pocketed as much as $30 million from this relationship, including his consulting on the UAE/Dubai World Ports deal.
And they lost, see what you get for relying on a liberal.

The black people in Dekalb County should be ashamed of themselves for electing this MORON! Be sure that no self-respecting white person voted for her. Denise Majette did a great job, but why did y’all bring dumbass McKinney back? Are black people so stupid, as to elect her just because she is black? She is completely worthless, and an embarrassment. Who will she blame next, the Jews, like her racist old man? Throw her out!
I’m white. I respect myself. I voted for her. So there. It may have been a mistake, but certainly not as big a mistake as lemming Bush voters being suckered into voting for soft-on-terror, pro-illegal immigration, pro-torture, Big Government Bush.

Well once again Cynthia McKinney has managed to put Georgia back in the negative spotlight. The very idea… immediately after the incident she admitted she left was in a hurry, left her pin and it was just a misunderstanding. Now she flip-flops and throws the race card down right out of the gate. Face it. If the guy hadn’t stopped her she’d be screaming from the rafters about lax security. If it was a Republican she’d be offering the rope if someone knew where a tree was for the hanging.
Racism is an awfully easy claim to make Cynthia, but you’d better take a careful look and weigh the consequences before tossing it about so freely. You’ve done it so often now you do more harm than good.

There just is absolutely no reason for nobody to react the way she did! Remember Zsa Zsa Gabor? Ridiculous, she aught to be ashamed of herself!

The b*** is lucky she’s not dead or in traction at the hospital after that stupid assed stunt. Senators and Congressmen or women should know better that anyone else the rules of security in government buildings. If I had been the security guard on that post when she dodged it and refused to stop at my command, I would have shot that b*** dead, no questions asked!! Perhaps the security guard that didn’t should be shot. I don’t know. But, I do know he or she showed great restraint. Cynthia McKinney is one lucky black b*** today!!

Let’s see…she has changed her appearance, wasn’t wearing an ID badge or any other device to identify her as a Congressman, and she challenged the authority of a police officer who is trying to “protect and serve”, so how is this racism? I was in D.C. not long ago and I was challenged by, not one, but two black police officers at a checkpoint, and I am a white male, so I guess that means they were racist, too! I guess Cynthia is right, all D.C. cops are racist!

Seems to me like McKinney should be charged with a hate crime.
