so true

Peter Galbraith: “In his State of the Union address, President Bush told his Iraq critics, ‘Hindsight is not wisdom and second-guessing is not a strategy.’ His comments are understandable. Much of the Iraq fiasco can be directly attributed to Bush’s shortcomings as a leader. Having decided to invade Iraq, he failed to make sure there was adequate planning for the postwar period. He never settled bitter policy disputes among his principal aides over how postwar Iraq would be governed; and he allowed competing elements of his administration to pursue diametrically opposed policies at nearly the same time. He used jobs in the Coalition Provisional Authority to reward political loyalists who lacked professional competence, regional expertise, language skills, and, in some cases, common sense. Most serious of all, he conducted his Iraq policy with an arrogance not matched by political will or military power.”

Hi, Is there any possibility of a summer internship with Luckovich at the AJC? I’m tring to give a hand to a very talented Sarah Lawrence student who attended a local high school. Thanks, Hector Fernandez L’Hoeste Associate professor, Latin American culture Georgia State University

Well, let’s see, how can we support Bush, hmmm, gee, maybe because he’s winning in Iraq? He’s going to defeat the terrorists which should be everyone’s priority? We’re not cheering on Al Qaeda?

By Brian Curtis

Al Qaeda? But we were talking about Iraq, which (as everyone knows by now) has absolutely nothing to do with fighting terrorism, stopping Al Qaeda, OR defending America.

Ohhh, I get it now. Everything Bush does can be lumped into the same category of “fighting terrorism.” Bush is fighting terrorism when he invades Iraq; when he pardons a turkey at Thanksgiving; when he orders illegal wiretaps; when he goes for a morning jog; when he nominates incompetent boobs to important public offices (like head of FEMA and the Supreme Court); and probably when he’s on the can too. It’s ALL fighting terrorism, so it ALL must be right!

Isn’t that WONDERFUL? Bush can Do No Wrong, because everything he does is fighting terrorism.

And you don’t support terrorism… do you?

Oh, this is rich stuff. How much entertainment can these radical-right losers provide as they spin and dodge the truth? Let’s watch and find out.

Mike Luckovich, not even a blip on the world’s attention screen, is calling the president of the United States a “doofus”?

I’ve heard of unbridled conceit but Luckovich takes the prize for pure egotism.

Give that boy the booby prize for being the biggest jerk in the country.

Mike, much respect for not backing down from the chants of the “liberal media” gang.

I often think of conservatives as another Andy Griffith charactor, Gomer Pyle. When they read something they don’t like from the “liberal media,” instead of shouting “citizens arrest, citizens arrest” like Gomer, I picture them shouting “liberal media, liberal media.”

Give ‘em hell.

VARGAS: But what is the plan if the sectarian violence continues? I mean, do the U.S. troops take a larger role? Do they step in more actively to stop the violence?- ABC News interview with the Honorable George W Bush, cartoon boy won’t link to ABC.

BUSH: {Get on your knees, you worthless pinkos, this is your President speaking.) No. The troops are chasing down terrorists. They’re protecting themselves and protecting the people, and — but a major function is to train the Iraqis so they can do the work. I mean the ultimate success in Iraq — The U.S. troops will stay there so long as — until the Iraqis can defend themselves. I mean, my policy has not changed.

Anymore questions, Brian Curtiss?

Brian Curtis,

(like head of FEMA and the Supreme Court)

The head of the Supreme Court is John Roberts. Don’t try to weasel out of your own words.

Ya’ll shouldn’t pick on Andy like that. He’s really a Bed Wetter…..because he’s a homo. Poor thing wakes up in the middle of a yellow puddle every morning. He really doesn’t think it’s because he’s a homo. He says it’s because he has nightmares about terrorists coming to get him.

One could only hope.

Bush budget cuts will deny or delay non critical medical care to 10’s of thousands of veterans Because they really do respect veterans … or maybe they just get a hard on when they watch them pass by in parades.

ML,

Stick to cartoons. It’s really irritating to see a cartoonist write commentary. As Laura Ingraham says, “Shut up and sing”.

Ahh, Danish’s world would be a perfect place if only everybody who’s NOT a neocon tool would just sit quietly and obey.

Sorry to keep inflicting that pesky democracy on you, BD.

Au contraire Brian, I am merely expressing my opinion that ML is better as a cartoonist than a commentator, just as Harry Belafonte is a fine singer but lousy at international dialogue.
