To whomever was lecturing us about not reading a wider variety of newspapers,
This gem was in the Sunday Times of London:
That Blair and Bush should have discussed bombing the Al-Jazeera building in Qatar is hardly surprising. They agreed to bomb the headquarters of Serbian television during the Kosovo war
Who knew you could find “facts” like that

Well, I think most pols are “bought” in one way or another, but this “drawing” needs more data. It is vacuous, specious, inane, shows no proof (I know it is a toon), lacks creativity, etc.
Seriously, I think that Looney-Tooney-Lucko is being too much affected by this blog. It is obvious that he is just trying to p-iss off conservatives

RW, my psychology prof friend who is an expert in deviant behavior said she would try to get me a report on LTL’s work in a day or so; she did say she was “intrigued.” And, I gave copies to a visual arts prof to peruse. She is a real pinko, so, who knows……..
As I said in my post a minute ago, I think LTL is being influenced by US, which is rather pathetic when you consider the totality of issues

RW, I was trying to find my post on seperating special interest groups and donations to the parties, but my head is still spinning from the monster thread. I think I said that they needed to set an example by giving out mandatory sentences like 5 or 10 years for corruption. It seems to be 10 years and I think that is a good thing. What is the score now? GOP=1 DEM=1 and how many are indicted or will be?

A Democratic fund-raiser involved in Senator Clinton’s 2000 campaign has offered a guilty plea to bank fraud charges and is likely to become a government witness at the upcoming federal trial of a top finance aide to Mrs. Clinton, David Rosen, court records obtained by The New York Sun show.
As part of an FBI investigation into alleged campaign finance reporting violations by Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, the mystery witness secretly taped a conversation with Mr. Rosen in September 2002 and apparently tried to elicit statements from the former Clinton staffer about financial irregularities involving an August 2000 Hollywood fund-raising event.

See, the biggest difference between corrupt Democratic politicians and corrupt Republicans is that Democrats don’t try to pretend they’re holier and more moral than the next guy.
It’s the difference between Newt cheating on (and ultimately dumping) his seriously ill wife while at the same time thundering denunciations at Bill for cheating on Hillary.

Andy,
I found some clues in that Charles Walker story.
They mention twice that he was the child of sharecroppers. Bringing to mind Republican Janice Rogers Brown.
The story tells of a battle with powerful Democrat Sonny Perdue.
We learn from the fine reporter James Salzer (jsalzer@ajc.com) that Walker was Senate Majority leader. This one is more subtle, you have to go to the point/counterpoint opinion stories (which oddly both say the same thing about the voter ID law). There you find that Republicans are in charge of the Senate.
So Charles Walker must be a Republican.

RW, There was a good segment on Nightline where a reporter rode along with the troops and Iraqis to hunt down insurgents every night. A police car was hit with an IED and an Iraq soldier was killed. It did show that Iraqis were in the lead and were fighting. Also, on Leno this lady was on.

Clinton was a great speaker, but what is scary is that the American public puts so much emphasis on speech delivery, rather than actual substance. But, when one considers the obsession our culture has with celebrities, TV, sports or movies, it is not surprising. I read a poll sometime back where nearly one-half the women in this country would vote for Oprah for Prez

Sara,
Sometimes, when not walking on water, we tell jokes:
Al, Bill & Hillary go to Heaven (no, that’s not the punch line).
God addresses Al first. “Al, what do you believe in?”
Al replies, “Well, I believe I won that election, but that it was your will that I did not serve and I’ve come to understand that now.”
God thinks for a second and says, “Okay, very good. Come and sit at my left.”
God then addresses Bill. “Bill, what do you believe in?”
Bill replies, “I believe in forgiveness. I’ve sinned, but I’ve never held a grudge against my fellow man, and I hope no grudges are held against me.”
God thinks for a second and says, “You are forgiven, my son. Come and sit at my right.”
God then addresses Hillary. “Hillary, what do you believe in?”
“I believe you’re in my chair.”

Andy,
He said we shouldn’t run from Iraq we should withdraw.
He said President Bush was at his best on Sept. 12, 2002. I don’t remember 2002, but 2001 Bush did pretty well.
And he said the insurgents will be defeated with a political resolution. He didn’t elaborate.
The funny thing was that he was tag teaming with Jack Reed from Rhode Island. Every time Reed spoke he had to climb up on a box.

Andy,
He also said the full power of the Presidency was on display. That President Bush was using the the Naval Academy as a backdrop and a frontdrop.
Frontdrop? A curtain maybe?
He said that as a Senator he couldn’t go to West Point. Presumably to make a speech, but I would be willing to bet any member of the Armed Services committee could go visit West Point anytime they wanted.

It’s gotten awfully quite in here. You can almost feel the misery of these libs. Today they have suffered another devastating defeat at the hands of George W Bush, adding to the long list of many. He, again, allowed them to get their hopes up, had them wishing for another humiliating surrender for the United States, before he unmercifully slapped them down.
It was sad to watch the lib democrats in the Congress trying to bail from the withdrawal plan. They couldn’t wait to throw Murtha under the bus. Hillary took a page from her “husband’s” playbook, triangulating the issue, which means “fooled the democrats.” John Kerry flip flopped like a fish and then offered 3 monotonous hours of nonsense, I mean, nuance. Again, I extend my appreciation to RW, who hung in there for the duration. I myself would have fallen into a fitful slumber after 30 seconds, tops.
