Oh comeon Mike! You know, there are people that REALLY don’t like our President and Vicd President but couldn’t you find something else for comparative purposes? That just conjurs up all sorts of nasty images. Thanks, it’s almost lunchtime and I WAS hungry until a minute ago.

Mike why the hate against herpes?
Herpes is a non-killer, and they have drugs for it now. Cheney’s war has killed at least 50,000 people, very lethal.

Luckovich, if Bush and Chaney dropped to zero in the polls, they would still be held in higher regard than you. Most liberals don’t stoop so low. You have outdone them all. Congratulations!

Odd that ml doesn’t tell the poll he’s using. Well I guess not, I’m sure there are things he doesn’t want you to know.
The numbers sound like the latest CBS poll that used a 24% republican weighting and a 37% democrat weighting to there published results.
Even obscuring the numberrs like that the CBS poll still shows 66% showing President Bush more or as honest as anyone else in public life.
You might also be surprised that Dick Cheney’s disapproval rating isn’t 81% as Mike implies. Nothing about any STD’s in the poll, so our honest, humble scribbler may have a different source.
They also have a poll that says 48% of people believe in ghosts.
CBS poll
ml, how about a link to your poll?

Sorry, there is just no way you can spin this CBS poll in a positive way for this administation.
Remember, this was the administration that was going to bring respect, integrity and family values back to the White House.
(from CBS Poll) ASSESSING THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT
Favorable views of George W. Bush are down eleven points since the beginning of the year. Much of this drop has come among Independents: in January at the start of his second term, 41 percent of Independents gave President Bush a favorable rating; today 28 percent do.
The events of this year have also taken a toll on opinions about Vice President Dick Cheney. Today the Vice-President receives only a 19 percent favorable rating from Americans; in January it was 28 percent……….
(35% approval for Bush, YIKES.)

sct,
If you’re typing to me, I only mention numbers in the poll and the fact that it wasn’t fairly weighted. I’m not trying to make it positive at all.
In fact I’ll go out on a limb and predict right now: PRESIDENT BUSH WILL NOT BE RE-ELECTED IN 2008!
By Barqs is Best

That’s mighty bold thought RW. If Bush had his way with the Patriot Act, he’d outlaw new elections thus making him president forever.
Remember how nervous they got just before the elections and were contemplating announcing a terror-threat.
Anybody who says he wouldn’t can’t see how he’s already ignored and edited the Constitution and Bill of Rights to suit his agenda in the name of fighting terrorism.

Dusty, My last post pointed out that only 28% of IDEPENDENTS approve of Bush.
This country is almost evenly divided between Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.
When Idependent support drops 13% (41-28%) in less than a year, to me it shows that the president does not have much support in this country other than his base, Republicans. Not good no matter how you spin it.

Ok, what do we have in DC, Romper Room? First we have “Dick” (what a name for our Vice-President), then somebody comes up with “Dubya” and now “Scooter”? What next, we replace the Supreme Court with “Groucho, Marco and Harpo” or “Moe, Larry and Curly”, “Bozo the Clown” as SecDef, Goofy as SecState? Enough with the nicknames. It’s hard enough to accept some of the things they say now.

Sct, I don’t worry too much about polls. As you said, rhere’s a Republican base. When Independents are faced with the possibility of Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi for president, they may change their status in a hurry. But speaking of base, Luckovich gets the lowlife prize. I am trying to stay in the realm of decency so I won’t say anything more descriptive about him.

So what’s the worst we could face in 2008? John Kerry (not a chance), Dick Gephardt (nah), Al Gore (hee hee, that’s funny), Hillary (it’d split the Dems), Colin Powell (possible but not much chance since he worked for Dubya), John Edwards (bad memories of John F), Nancy Pelosi (in her own dreams). Not looking too promising. What about the otherside? John McCain (nah), Ahnuld (thank goodness he can’t run), Bill Frist (ummmmm, NO), Delay (he’ll be in jail)….. Not looking tooo promising there either. Anybody out there want to be President?

Can’t anybody remember the election almost a year ago to the day, all of the libs on TV talking about the Kerry presidency, based on poll numbers? Why do you people even take these pinkos seriously, believing everything they throw at you?
200,000 American soldiers died to liberate France and it is more of a quagmire than Iraq is.
The stock market is soaring, unemployment is historically low, growth is at 3.8%, all this despite the hurricanes. And what are the libs telling you about the economy?
Bet you didn’t know that the government makes more off of a gallon of gasoline than the oil companies do.
How about Michael Moore hiring 115 employees for his company, only 1 of them being black?
Did you know that John Kerry owns Halliburton stock?
I better ease up; I can see you libs blinking.
By RW-(the original)

Andy,
Before the libs jump you, it was Al Franken that made only one black hire?

I stand corrected, libs all look the same to me :-).
Oddsmaker: Perfect example of what I’m talking about. You are letting the left’s smear of Condi effect your judgment. She is a brilliant woman, born in Alabama during the 60’s, instead of playing the race card went to school and got an education. I think it is fair to say that the Secretary of State position is not one of patronage. She is an expert on Russia; she even loves the game of football.
How many women that aren’t nearly as qualified have you seen the libs build into some kind of American heroine goddess? What do you think Condi would be if she were a democrat?

sct: And what disaster are you referring to?
By sct
November 4, 2005 05:16 PM | Link to this
The disaster is Bush.
Do you people realize the extent of incompetence that must exist for a president to have a 35% approval rating? Its pretty bad when a presidents approval rating starts to approach Nixon’s.
The majority of the people don’t consider our president honest, is that good?. The vast majority think the war was a mistake. Most think Plamegate, the Libby indictment and the dishonesty that lead to war are serious problems.
How about the fema debacle, the Miers nomination? The Schiavo fiasco, the unpopular Social Security concept, the vacations during critical times.
The deficit, the pork barrel spending, cronyism, tax cuts for the rich, energy prices. How about Gannon/Guckert?
Then of course we have our great Republican leaders in congress, men like Delay and Frist.
Do you people really not get it????

I think that Luckovich, once and for all has shown that he is not a “conservative democrat” like he claims. Like we didn’t know it anyway. Bush’s numbers are historically low. Some of that is due to things out of his control(oil prices and katrina) and some are from his mistakes and misjudements. But it doesn’t matter what is polls. We will see what happens when election time comes around. And by the way this poll had a sample source of people of which 38% described themselves as Democrat and 27% Repbulican. So that sways it a little. I am not saying that his numbers aren’t low, but they aren’t this low.

sct: Let’s hit the facts first-
Iraq is a democracy. Paris is on fire. 197,999 troops could die in Iraq from here on out; we would have still lost more in France.
The Libby indictment is just that; an indictment. Could we give our justice system a chance?
FEMA or school bus Ray Nagin not evacuating the people before the hurricane like Bush told them?
With a drunken ape like Ted Kennedy waiting in the Senate, do you send up a blank slate like Meirs, or do risk a fight further dividing the nation? Fortunately the Conservative base spoke, saying we want the fight.
The murder of Terri Schaivo was Bush’s fault? Boy he sure gets around.
The social security concept that makes the money yours, not the governments.
Vacations in which he spoke to troops, met with foreign leaders, consulted congressman.
The deficit is a left wing bogeymen, Reagan ran them up and it was followed with the economic prosperity that Clinton cashed in on.
A lib complaining about government spending? Ted “Swimmer” Kennedy gave us the education bill. The medicare fiasco was supported by democrats like Diane Feinstein.
Cronyism, like get elected and then move your wife into the vice president’s office. Gut the FBI’s investigative ability so that you can hire your drug dealing buddies and other assorted criminals?
I ain’t researching this right now, something like 49% of US citizens don’t even pay taxes; the government runs on money from the “rich.” Besides, it has resulted in phenomenal economic growth; it’s called the Laffer curve.
Energy prices; the democrats, last week, voted down a measure that would open up domestic oil production and reduced our dependence on foreign oil. Environmental wackos make up about 50% percent of the cost of energy, regulations on refineries, 49 different blends of gasoline, etc.
The only time you’ll see a lib bash a gay is when they are Republicans, like Jeff Gannon. Barbara Walters never asked the Clintons any leading questions?
Delay, charged by the 3rd jury that Earle shopped, it will come out that he had to threaten them to get an indictment. He has no evidence.
Anything else you would like to share with us?

It’s been a hard, unforgiving two months for hard-line conservatives like myself, I guess that after I climb out of the bottom of this bottle of Jack Daniels that I’ll go and pray that I get a presidential ticket of Rudolph Guliani and John McCain in 2008. Someone commented earlier that after this stretch of events no one from the current administration would be able to get a job as Dog Catcher. If things keep going this way between now and 2008 no one from the Republican Party will be able to get a job pumping gas (well maybe as an oil company lobbyist, but that doesn’t officially count) much less as President and the GOP will probably be treated like radioactive waste only radioactive waste will probably have higher approval ratings. Schiavo was murdered? By whom? God? Man you must be completely stupid, or is it considered moral to keep cadavers alive now indefinitely now? How moral is THAT?
And as for Condaleeza Rice, I have no real issues with her other than I agree that this administration will drag her down with it. Powell and her were played the fool by this regime. There is no way that Condaleeza will be able to shake the blood of 100 000 Iraqis and 2000 Americans off her hands. Even if all she did was support the village idiot we have as a president. However, like all right wing nazis, you just cannot handle criticism can you? I’d like someone to show me a model right wing state anywhere which fully supported democracy. I’ll give you a few: Nazi, Mussolini, Apartheid South Africa and a slew of South American dictatorships.
There is a HUGE difference between Right Wing and Conservative.
Don’t you dare insult us true conservatives by associating the modern day Republican Right winger with the conservative movement. Conservatism is for small government, basic services. It does not stand for radical government enforced whacko morally bankrupt extreme religions whose followers have morals lower than those of an alley cat. How dare you even think you can pass judgement on others? Did God give you that right?
Don’t you bet on it for a minute, that us true conservatives will ever vote republican again. From now on, my vote is Libertarian.
