New cast members joining ‘Heroes’
The next volume of ‘Heroes’ titled ‘Fugitives’ which will begin after the winter hiatus on Feb. 2 at 9 p.m., will feature several new cast members. Here’s who we know about so far:
The first one was announced in October exclusively to E! Online blogger Kristin Dos Santos. Zeljko Ivanek of ‘Damages’ will be joining the cast as a character named ‘The Hunter.’
According to insiders, the Hunter’s first appearance is in episode 14, which kicks off Volume Four: Fugitives. (Heroes creator Tim Kring is writing the Fugitives premiere!)
Since this volume is titles ‘Fugitives,’ a character named ‘The Hunter’ will probably be very important, right?
Meanwhile, Michael Ausiello over at EW.com broke the news that the star of the ‘Aliens in America,’ Dan Byrd, will be joining the cast as a character named ‘David.’ Ausiello has this to say about David:
…a dark and twisted kid who tells lies easily and has a cruel streak. Word is he’ll be a possible apprentice to Sylar (Zachary Quinto).
An apprentice for Sylar? That could be interesting… or really uncharacteristic. But Sylar is all over the place in Volume 3, so whose to say that doesn’t continue in Volume 4.
Ausiello also reports that Justin Baldoni, a former cast member of ‘Everwood,’ will be joining ‘Heroes’ as
Alex, a Southern California surfer dude who works at a comic book store.
This doesn’t tell us whether or not he has powers. I am picturing him as a possible love interest for Claire. Ausiello speculates that comics will play a bigger role in Volume 4, so it’s possible this guy is just a simple comic book store owner. He could also be another character who paints the future (because they can’t seem to go one season without one) and creates comics of the future like Issac Mendez did.
Another new ‘Heroes’ cast member is John Glover, according to Ausiello. Glover is more recently know for his role on ‘Smallville’ as Lex Luthor’s father Lionel Luthor. So what will his role on ‘Heroes’ be? The father of villain Sylar, of course. Apparently he has been typecast in the role of father to psychopaths. He should definitely make a strong addition to the cast.
‘Heroes Volume Four: Fugitives’ begins Monday, Feb. 2, 2009 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
