Murder warrants have been issued for two women accused of killing a 2-year-old in Pike County, according to an article on wsbtv.com.

The child, Tyqwan Edge was killed by blunt-force trauma on May 22, according to the results of a GBI medical examiner investigation.

Murder warrants have now been obtained for the Chiquita Snipes and Kenesha Neal, who had physical custody of the child at the time of his death, Pike County Sheriff Jimmy Thomas said.

The two women have been in custody at the Pike County Jail since being arrested on separate charges June 8. They were charged with one count each of aggravated assault, first-degree cruelty to children and second-degree cruelty to children. Snipes and Neal will now have a bond hearing before a Superior Court judge for the additional murder charge, officials said.

Zebulon is the county seat of Pike County, located about 50 miles south of Atlanta.
