Woman, 74, dies after Forsyth County car crash

A 74-year-old woman injured Thursday in a two-car collision in south Forsyth County has died, the sheriff’s office said Friday.

Nancy Yeakel, 74, of Johns Creek, died Thursday night at North Fulton Hospital, Deputy Mike Nelson with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

The crash occurred about 11 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road, he said. The driver of a 2013 Jeep Patriot, 39-year-old Eric Hasslock of Cumming, reportedly failed to stop at a red light and crashed into Yeakel’s 2006 Toyota Avalon, hitting the driver’s side door, Nelson said.

Both drivers were taken to North Fulton Hospital, where Hasslock remains with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the accident.
