Weekend rain, ‘taste of autumn' next week
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
It should be a dry commute Friday morning.
There will be little to no rainfall from Thursday night to Friday, said National Weather Service forecaster Frank Taylor, who predicted dropping temperatures giving Atlantans "a taste of autumn" by the middle of next week.
"The best chance for rain is Friday night through Saturday," Taylor said. "It will get cooler next week."
Tuesday morning, temperatures will dip into the 50s and climb only into the 70s through Thursday, forecasters said.
The state could receive one and two inches of rain between Friday night and Sunday evening, the Weather Service said. The heaviest rainfall will be in North Georgia near the Tennessee border, where minor flooding could occur in the mountains.
The rain is expected to end Saturday night, leaving skies partly cloudy on Sunday, the Weather Service said.
By Monday, there could be some sprinkles, forecasters said.
