US News: Delta is worst airline
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Atlanta-based Delta is the worst of the major airlines, according to USNews.com.
The Website noted Delta ranked first in delays for major airlines, with 78 percent of flights arriving on time in the 12-month period ending in August, and first in consumer complaints, averaging 2.23 per 100,000 passengers.
Delta had the worst score among major airlines in the annual Airline Quality Rating Report. The Website also looked at the American Customer Satisfaction Index, Air Travel Consumer Reports by the U.S. Department of Transportation, and other surveys.
The five worst airlines in the rankings were Delta, United, Alaska Airlines, American and US Airways. Hawaiian ranked as the best, followed by AirTran. The Website noted AirTran had the fewest incidents of mishandled baggage.
