UGA news conference to detail tailgaters’ destruction

University of Georgia President Michael Adams will hold a media briefing at 11 a.m. Thursday to discuss garbage, debris and destruction on the campus caused by tailgaters at the most recent home football game.

Tailgaters left  a mess on the lawn in front of the Alexander King Law Library -- on the north Georgia campus, near Lumpkin and Baldwin streets -- during Saturday's Georgia-South Carolina game. This was the aftermath Sunday.

Adams will speak at the conclusion of the college’s regular Cabinet meeting.

Tailgaters trashed the campus Saturday, leaving mounds of plastic cups, coolers, tents, chairs and other debris. By Sunday morning most of the campus was covered with garbage.
