U-Haul is offering free storage space to Georgia flood victims.

U-Haul companies of central, northern and western Georgia are offering 30 days of free storage at their facilities to residents whose homes have been ravaged by storms and flooding.

The Phoenix-based company also is encouraging families to take advantage of the Take a Box, Leave a Box Program, which allows customers to return their reusable boxes for others to take as needed for free.

Families should contact U-Haul Company of Central Georgia, in Atlanta, U-Haul Company of Northern Georgia, in Marietta, and U-Haul Company of Western Georgia, in College Park.

U-Haul's Georgia District Vice President Doug Weston says the company wants to offer a helping hand.
