Police are trying to find out why a truck load of flat screen TVs was abandoned in a northwest Atlanta warehouse district.

Officers were investigating an unrelated case and came across the tractor trailer near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway surrounded by several men, Atlanta police spokesman Officer James Polite said.

When the men saw the officers they fled, Polite said.

Police tried to chase the group of men but, late Wednesday night, none of the men had been captured, WSB is reporting.

When investigators looked inside the trailer, they found more than 50 flat screen TVs valued at more than $1,000 each, WSB reports

The truck was towed from the scene by authorities, and police continue to investigate.
