Tornado watch lifted for metro Atlanta
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A tornado watch for the metro Atlanta area has been lifted, according to the National Weather Service.
But there's still a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms this evening, according to forecaster Jessica Fieux.
Another round of showers is expected to move east from Alabama across the metro area later Wednesday evening. Lows will be in the low 60s.
The tornado watch, for 71 counties of north and central Georgia including all of metro Atlanta, was posted at 10:30 a.m.
The rain should end early Thursday, leaving skies mostly sunny during the afternoon, when highs in the low 80s are predicted.
Partly sunny skies are forecast for Friday through Sunday, with a 30 percent chance of weekend showers and thunderstorms. Highs through the period will be in the mid-80s, with lows in the low 60s.
