The condition of the 21-month-old girl who got trapped in a rolled-up car window has improved significantly, and she's expected to make a full recovery, Winder police said.

The toddler was initially unresponsive after her neck became trapped Friday afternoon, according to Sgt. Rachel Love. Saturday night, the girl was in critical condition at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

But now the girl is on track to recover fully. Love credited a neighbor who immediately performed CPR on the toddler, and the quick response of Winder firefighters.

The girl was apparently left in the vehicle with her 3-year-old brother, Love said. The siblings' mother apparently was inside a home at the time of the incident, but investigators are not sure how long the children were alone.

The toddler was taken to Barrow Regional Medical Center, then transferred to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

The incident remains under investigation.
