The SWAT standoff situation in Lithonia in DeKalb County is over.

Around 6 p.m. two men who barricaded themselves in a house in the 2000 block of Corners Circle in Lithonia surrendered.

The standoff lasted for a little over two hours.

The situation began after DeKalb police tried to pull the men over in a random and routine traffic stop, said Jason Gagnon, DeKalb County police spokesman.

"The men hit the ground running," he said. "During the chase officers heard shots fired and again after the men forced their way into the house."

DeKalb and SWAT officers surrounded the house and blocked off the neighborhood while SWAT officers began negotiations with the suspects.

"The suspects, as well as the other inhabitants of the house slowly began filing out around sometime before 6 p.m.," said Gagnon.

It is unclear why the men ran, added Gagnon.

No one was injured and charges are pending.
