Sunny skies expected this weekend
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Black Friday shoppers were greeted by chilly temperatures as the weather seems to be getting in the Christmas spirit.
The National Weather Service reported an overnight low of 34 degrees under clear skies. Highs Friday afternoon are predicted to rise to the mid-5os.
“Our normal for this time of year is right around 60 degrees, so we’re a little bit cooler than normal," meteorologist Rob Handel said late Thursday night.
The rest of the holiday weekend looks to be a bit warmer, in the daytime at least. The lows Saturday are expected to be in the upper 30s around metro Atlanta, and in the low 40s for Sunday morning. Highs both days should be more seasonal, in the low to mid-60s.
Expect sunny skies for the remainder of the weekend. The next chance of rain for the area will come Sunday night and into Monday morning, Handel said.
