Another weekend, another washout.

Atlanta's string of downright rotten weekend weather continues Saturday, when anything from rain to sleet to snow is likely, along with afternoon temperatures only in the 30s followed by readings in the mid-20s Saturday night.

In fact, you have to go all the way back to mid-November to find a weekend that was neither wet nor colder than normal.

Last weekend, temperatures were well above normal, but nearly 3 inches of rain fell at Atlanta's official rain gauge at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The previous weekend, temperatures were also a little warmer than normal, but 1.03 inches of rain on Saturday was followed by .38 inch on Sunday.

The weekend before that: no rain, but the city was in the grips of a bitter cold spell where afternoon highs on Saturday and Sunday barely cracked the freezing mark and overnight lows were in the low teens. And the first weekend of 2010 was also a very cold one, with highs in the low 30s and lows in the teens and low 20s.

In December, rain fell on three of four weekends, and on the fourth, temperatures were about 4 degrees colder than normal, according to the National Weather Service.

The last weekend that was both dry and warmer than normal? Nov. 14 and 15, when highs were in the low 70s.
