Georgia revenue collections fell in October and the state’s tax take is barely up over the first four months of the fiscal year.

Collections fell 3.2 percent in October, largely because Department of Revenue internal upgrades had them sending out additional income tax refunds. Net sales tax collections were up a solid 3.5 percent over October 2016.

For the fiscal year that started July 1, collections are up 1.6 percent, a slow start after several years of solid growth.
