Rain forces HS softball cancellations

Due to all the game cancellations because of rain, including Monday's contests, some Class AAAAA softball coaches are considering asking for help from the Georgia High School Association.

"The current date to finish region play is Oct. 10," Chattahoochee athletics director Milo Mathis said. "That seems like a lot of time, but I think some schools are at least six region games behind, with more to play, as well as the region tournament.

"I'm sure whatever is decided will include a lot of playing in a short period of time. Good thing this is not baseball, where pitching rules are much stricter."
