South Forsyth, ranked No. 3 in the Score Atlanta/AJC volleyball poll, upset No. 1-ranked Johns Creek on Tuesday behind strong performances by two record-setting players. Kelli McCravy recorded her 2,000th career assist, and teammate Tory Wright had career dig No. 1,000. South Forsyth is 4-0 in area play and will play a tri-match with Centennial and Alpharetta next week.

More volleyball: Walton defeated Milton (25-12, 25-6) and Marietta (25-4, 25-7) on Tuesday. The Raiders travel to the Berkeley Prep Tourney in Florida this weekend with a chance to play top teams from around the region. … Chattahoochee rolled past Alpharetta and Lambert in straight sets and will play Lovett and Whitefield Academy on Thursday before dipping back into region play with North Forsyth and West Forsyth on Tuesday. … Sequoyah defeated Creekview and Forsyth Central on Tuesday in straight sets. The Chiefs face region-rival Pope on Tuesday in an area match. … In Class AAAA, Marist topped South Atlanta 2-0 and No. 1 ranked Columbia 2-0 in a tri-match Tuesday. The War Eagles’ are on top of the area standings.

Cross country: Host Bainbridge outlasted 33 teams to win its 14th annual Bainbridge Bearcat Invitational. Bainbridge junior Chase Harris finished more than a minute ahead of the field and clocked the fastest overall course time. … North Hall went to South Carolina last weekend and won first place at the Furman Classic. Bryce Schubert, Zack Hill and Quintin Miles were top-10 finishers for the Trojans. … Marist placed first in a field of 30 teams Saturday at the Cherokee-hosted Warpath Invitational. Michael Thurston, Daniel Navarro and Frank Pittman had top-five finishes for Marist. The fastest overall time went to Kell junior Logan Poteet, with a time of 15:39:58. The Longhorns finished 15th overall. … North Paulding finished first overall at the Paulding County Cross Country Championship event Tuesday. East Paulding, Hiram, Paulding County and South Paulding also competed. Hiram senior Jacob Robinson finished with the top time, but North Paulding placed five runners in the top 10 of the field of 35.

Softball: Collins Hill defeated Norcross 14-0 on Tuesday behind three-plus strong innings by freshman Kaylee Parker. Collins Hill, a playoff favorite, has lost only two games this season. … Third-ranked Lassiter is on top of Region 5-AAAAAA with two losses and a perfect region record. The Trojans have outscored their opponents by a margin of 116-28. … North Forsyth’s Sydney Turner is set to break virtually every team career record in offensive category. The senior first baseman leads the team in batting average and RBIs.
