It was a real who’s who of former Georgia football players on the sidelines before Saturday’s game.
Former star defensive back Scott Woerner, who had some of his greatest games of his career against Clemson, served as honorary captain for the Bulldogs. But he was one-upped a few minutes prior to the coin toss by Herschel Walker, who was introduced over the stadium P.A. system.
Later, in the first quarter, Hall of Fame place-kicker Kevin Butler was introduced at midfield. He was accompanied by snapper Paul Messer and holder Jimmy Harrell, who teamed up with Butler on the famous 60-yard game-winning kick to beat Clemson 26-23 in 1984.
Aaron Murray, Alec Ogletree and Mohamed Massaquoi were among numerous lettermen who were also in attendance.
