The ACC will try to keep Georgia Tech out of the heat in September.

The league issued kickoff times for the first three weeks of the season, none of which leave the Yellow Jackets with a dreaded noon start. As requested of the league, Tech will play its Sept. 8 home game against Presbyterian at 7 p.m. The Sept. 15 game against Virginia, also at Bobby Dodd Stadium, will start at 3:30 p.m. Tech also penciled in its Sept. 29 home game against Middle Tennessee State for 7 p.m., but that time is subject to change.

The Presbyterian game will be streamed online on ESPN3, while ESPNU will pick up the Virginia game.

The 8 p.m. kickoff for the Jackets’ season opener at Virginia Tech on Labor Day (ESPN) already was set.

Last fall, Tech played at noon or 12:30 p.m. in three of its first four home games, leading to gripes about roasting conditions inside Bobby Dodd Stadium as well as a shortage of tailgating time. Students cited the early kickoffs as a reason for their lack of attendance, athletic department officials said.

The league also set the league championship game, Dec. 1 in Charlotte, for 7:45 p.m. if ESPN carries the game or 8 p.m. if ABC picks it up.
