The University of Miami men’s basketball team is ranked for the first time in more than three years.
The Hurricanes (13-3, 4-0 ACC) are No. 25 in the Associated Press poll, marking their first entry into the Top 25 since Jan. 11, 2010 when UM was ranked No. 23.
Staying ranked won’t be easy. Miami, first in the ACC standings, meets No. 1 Duke on Wednesday ( 7 p.m., ESPN) at the Bank United Center. UM is 0-5 all-time against No. 1 opponents. As of Monday afternoon, a little more than 100 tickets remained for the game. The Hurricanes follow up the Duke test with another home game, Sunday against Florida State.
The Hurricanes eked their way into the AP poll Monday by registering 93 votes, one more than Marquette. UM remained unranked in the USA Today coaches’ poll, finishing 26th overall with 49 votes.
