Soldier arrested for soliciting underage sex online

A 21-year-old Army soldier who solicited sex from an undercover Barrow County Sheriff's deputy has been arrested, the Sheriff's Office said.
Zachary Lee Northup of Largo, Fla., a member of the 385th Military Police Battalion based at Fort Stewart, had been chatting online for more than two months with a person he thought was a 15-year-old girl, the Sheriff's Office said.
On Friday, Northup drove to Winder in hopes of meeting her for sex, the Sheriff's Office said. Instead, deputies arrested him.
Northup is charged with child exploitation and enticing a child for indecent purposes. He is the third person the Sheriff's Office has arrested recently in its effort to stop online sexual predators.
