Say it isn't so! Snow?

The "s" word again?  It's possible Tuesday, WSB meteorologist Brad Nitz says.

A rain-snow mix is expected Tuesday morning "and that may briefly change over to all snow," Nitz said. "If that were to be the case, it would then change back to all rain by Tuesday afternoon. If we get some snow, it's likely not going to stick around long."

However, the north Georgia mountains could get 1 to 2 inches.

Tuesday night, as colder air moves in from the north, the last of the precipitation could revert to snow flurries before conditions clear, Nitz added.

High temperatures on Tuesday will reach only the upper 30s.

If it seems like the Atlanta area is getting more than its share of frigid conditions this year, that's because of the El Niño effect, Nitz said.

“Typically, El Niño years in the southeast U.S. are wetter and colder than normal," he said.

Monday will be dry, but clouds will increase. The forecast calls for high temperatures in the mid-50s.
