The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

For the second time this week a potential metro area crime victim has turned the tables, with fatal consequences.

Saturday night at a Ingles in Rockdale County a shopper accosted by two would-be robbers pulled his own weapon, fatally shooting one of of the two men in the head. Exactly one week earlier, a Marietta liquor store clerk exchanged bullets with two gunmen, killing one.

Neither the shopper nor the clerk will face criminal charges, officials said. In both cases the thieves' accomplices fled the scene and have yet to be arrested.

One of the two robbers in the Ingles parking lot hold-up was armed with a knife, though it's unclear if he was the man shot by Ryan Moore. Rockdale County Sheriff Jeff Wigington told Channel 2 Action News that eyewitness accounts match what Moore told deputies.

Moore  "retaliated in self-defense," said his friend, Nathan Taylor. "Good guy, never violent.”
