Robber uses bomb threat to hold up bank inside Covington Walmart
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A bank robber decided to bypass the traditional brick-and-mortar financial establishments on Monday and hit up a teller inside a Covington Walmart instead.
Police told WSB-TV that the man entered the Walmart just after 2 p.m., approached the teller of the bank inside and said he had a bomb.
He then left with an undisclosed amount of money, WSB said.
The man never showed the bomb, but he did leave behind "some sort of device," at the Industrial Boulevard store, WSB said. Police later said it was not an explosive.
Police have described the man as white, between 50 and 60 years old. Police believe he is driving an older-model Chevrolet two-door extended cab pickup truck that is possibly tan or gray.
Police also said the truck may have bags of trash or debris in the back.
