The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The two dogs thrown from an overpass in northwest Georgia are recovering, but police are still looking for those responsible.

The dogs were taken from a Catoosa County home last Friday and dropped from the Georgia 2A overpass in Walker County, and police from both counties are now involved in the investigation, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.

The owner of the Labrador-bulldog mix and the beagle-bull mix reclaimed the dogs from an animal hospital after seeing a news report, the newspaper reported. The dogs' medical expenses totaled $1,400, but they both are expected to recover, WDEF Channel 12 reported.

Police have questioned neighbors, but there have been no arrests. Investigators are also looking for witnesses who may have seen a white car near the overpass Friday morning, according to Channel 12.
