The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The 31-year-old man who was featured  in ads for a Coca-Cola energy drink is charged in Brooklyn, N.Y., with  hacking his mother to death with a samurai sword while screaming Bible passages, according to a New York television station.

Police say Michael Brea – an actor in the Coca-Cola campaign for Full Throttle – is charged with holding his mother hostage in her Prospects Heights second-floor apartment before killing her around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to WPIX.

"I hear the brother chasing her [his mother] through the house and he's just saying a bunch of [Bible] passages like, ‘repent, repent, repent,'"  neighbor Gregory Clare told the station. "I heard him chasing her through the house and I hear a loud scream and so I have my father call the cops."

Police said Yannick Brea, 55, had multiple stab and hack wounds and she was decapitated.

Police said Brea was combative with first-responders and they had to use an electronic shock to subdue him.
