A railroad conductor is in shock over his lottery win.

Bobby Cobb Sr., 54, of Fitzgerald matched the first five winning numbers in the Sept. 8 Mega Millions drawing and won the game’s $250,000 second prize.

“I was in total shock,” said Cobb, who claimed his winnings Friday at the Georgia Lottery’s Tifton district office.

Cobb purchased the ticket from Taylor’s Food Mart on N. Merrimac Drive in Fitzgerald. He returned to the store to check the ticket, realizing he had a winning ticket.

“I immediately called my wife,” he said. “She hasn’t quit smiling yet.”

Cobb, who is also a railroad engineer and father of two, plans to use some of his prize to pay bills.
